- [Gianna And Whitney] Hi, Nick.

- Hi, Gianna.

Hi, Whitney.

Guess what I got in the mail today.

It's an invitation to a picnic.

- We got invitations too.

- Yeah.

- Does yours say who it's from?

- Nope.

- Come to a very special picnic in the park today.

Please bring along a family treasure.

- It's not signed or anything.

- I wish I knew who sent it.

- And why are we supposed to bring a family treasure?

- Well, I brought this truck.

- Why is that a family treasure?

- Because it was my granddad's and he was a kid like me.

- That's neat.

- Now he drives a real truck.

It's kind of like this one only a lot bigger.

I love picnics.

- Oh, picnics are lots of fun.

Sitting outside on a warm summer day.

Eating all kinds of yummy food.

But best of all, spending special time

with the ones you love.

- My family and I like to play games at our picnics.

- Oh, really?

What kind of games, Gianna?

- Well, my brother and sister like to play ring toss.

- My dad and I like to play catch.

- And my grandfather likes to play horseshoes.

- Oh, it's lots of fun to play games with your family.

And it's fun to play a game about families.

- I brought this bracelet.

- Wow, that's pretty.

- [Barney] Oh, that is nice, Whitney.

- [Nick] Where did you get it?

- My grandmother gave it to me.

- Oh, what a wonderful family treasure.

- Thanks.

She used to wear it when she went dancing.

It's really special, so I don't get to wear it a lot.

But when I do, it makes me think of my grandmother.

- Oh, that's very nice, Whitney.

And what did you bring, Gianna?

- Let me show you.

- [Barney] Okay.

Oh.

Oh my.

- Teddy bears. - Oh, they were

taking a ride in your backpack.

- There's three of them.

One.

Two.

Three.

This one is mine.

And the other two belong to my brother and sister.

Sometimes, my little sister is afraid of the dark,

so her teddy bear helps her feel safe.

- [Barney] Aw, teddy bears are good for that.

- You know, they look like a little teddy bear family.

- Maybe they could go on a picnic too.

- A teddy bear picnic.

- Mario was supposed to be here today.

Has anyone seen him?

- I haven't.

- Well, maybe he's in the caboose.

Let's go find out.

- Okay. - Yeah.

- Oh boy.

(pleasant music)

- Hi, Mario. - Hi, Mario.

- Hi, Barney.

Hi, everybody.

You'll never guess what I got in the mail today.

- [Children] Oh yes we can.

- Because we got invitations too.

- Oh, good.

Uh, Gianna, what are the teddy bears for?

- Oh, they're my family treasure.

- And this is mine.

It used to be my granddad's.

- My grandmother gave me this bracelet.

- Those are great.

- What family treasure did you bring, Mario?

- I brought this book my brother reads all the time.

And this is one of his favorite books.

He gave it to me and that's why it's my family treasure.

- What's it called?

- It's called "Treasure Island".

- Oh.

What a perfect name for a family treasure.

- It's a really cool story about sailing ships,

pirates, argh, argh, adventure,

and it has neat pictures too. - I see that.

This book is really good.

- Oh, reading is very important.

And it's a lot of fun too.

- I like to look at all the pictures.

We could draw some pictures of our own.

- Oh, that's a great idea.

- First, we'll need some paper.

- And some crayons. - Yeah.

- Oh, and what are you going to draw?

- Let's draw our families.

- I'm gonna draw my family having a picnic.

- Baxter. - Oh.

- Okay. - These are turning out nice.

That sure is a big tree.

- [Barney] Oh, that's true.

- Wow, yours is great. - Thank you.

- [Whitney] Yours is coming along good too.

- Tell me about your picture, Mario.

- Here's my mother, my father, my big brother, and me.

- Oh, that's a great-looking family.

What about you, Whitney?

- My family is my mother, my father,

my grandmother, and my grandfather, and me.

- Oh, they look very happy.

Oh, Gianna, what did you draw?

- Well, I drew my dad, my mom,

my little sister, my little brother, and me.

- Oh, and look, you even drew your teddy bears.

And what about you, Nick?

- My family is just my dad and my dog Baxter.

- How can a dog be part of your family?

- Oh, a special pet can be a part of your family.

They live with you

and love you just like the rest of your family does.

- Well, Baxter is definitely part of our family.

- Are you sure that's your whole family, Nick?

- What do you mean, Barney?

- Well, do you have any aunts or uncles?

- Yeah, I do.

There's my Aunt Doris, my Uncle Donald, my Uncle Calvin,

my Aunt Belle, my grandma, and my Aunt Millie.

- Oh my.

Anybody else?

- Cousins.

My cousin Mike, my cousin Connie, my cousin Tim,

and my cousin Gary.

I never knew I had such a big family.

- Did you forget somebody?

- Did I?

Oh yeah, me.

- Now that's what I call a big family.

- Yeah, that's a big family. - Oh my.

(upbeat music)

♪ I love to go and visit her

- [Barney] Oh, that's nice.

♪ She's always nice to me

- I thought for sure the picnic would've started by now.


- Oh, I'm sure we'll be having fun at the picnic soon.

But for now, I guess we'll just have

to wait a little longer.

- Waiting is so hard.

- [Barney] It sure can be.

- Well, how about right, whoa, now?

- [Whitney] Look at the picnic table too.

- But you're not the only ones I invited.

- Really?

- Who else did you invite, Barney?

- I also invited your families.
