Well, I can't sing it, because I don't have all of it.

Our story begins, like all good stories do,

with "once upon a time".

Once upon a time, there was a little girl named Pandora.

( plays chords )

Ta-dah!

One day, Pandora found a box.

Oh, lookie, lookie.

Someone left a box sitting here.

I hope it's a present for me.

( drumming )

Stop!

Do not open that box!

Why not?

The sign says "do not open".

But, uh, it's my box.

I don't see your name on it.

What if it belongs to someone else?

Well, we'll just have to open it and find out.

Sorry, you're just going to have to wait.

♪ I just can't wait, it's just not fair ♪

♪ I'm standing here, but I want to be there ♪

♪ I just can't wait for what tomorrow brings ♪

♪ I just can't wait for... No!

BARNEYOh, no.

Okay, but remember,

don't open it.

After he left,

Pandora just couldn't stop thinking about that box.

And then, she got an idea.

I know! I'll play "Pop Goes the Weasel"

and pretend this box is a jack-in-the-box.

♪ All around the cobbler's bench ♪

♪ The monkey chased the weasel ♪

♪ The monkey thought 'twas all in fun ♪

♪ Pop goes the weasel ♪

♪ A penny for a spool of thread ♪

♪ A penny for a needle ♪

♪ That's the way the money goes ♪

♪ Pop goes the weasel. ♪

Oh, nothing popped out.

This box must be broken.

Oh... well, I'd better fix it.

Now, remember, you're supposed to wait.

Oh, all right.

Oh... You can do it.

♪ The painter needs a ladder and brush ♪

♪ The artist needs an easel ♪

♪ The dancers need a fiddler's tune ♪

♪ Pop goes the weasel ♪

♪ I've no time to wait and sigh ♪

♪ Or to tell the reason why ♪

♪ Kiss me quick, I'm off, good-bye ♪

♪ Pop goes the weasel ♪

Pop! Pop!

♪ Pop goes the weasel! ♪

Okay, I've waited long enough.


I'm going to open this box now.

Hey, there's nothing in here.

Um, Pandora, what's that on your face?

On my face? Uh-huh.

I don't know, maybe I better look in my mirror.

Okay, I think you should.

What are you talking about?

Oh! Oh, no!

I have spots on my face!

Yes, you do. Oh, Barney! Ahh!

Oh, and so do you Barney.

Yes, I do.

And they're itchy spots. Oh, no.

Oh. It turned out the box was filled with itchy spots.

And now that Pandora had let them out,

they quickly spread all over everyone.

Even on me.

And me.

Pandora, you got some 'splainin' to do.

Oh, I opened the box

and now everybody's got itchy spots.

♪ Oh, oh, oh, what a big mistake ♪

BARNEYThey itch.

♪ No, no, no, look ♪

♪ My knees have started to shake ♪

♪ Whoa, whoa, whoa ♪

♪ This is more than I can take ♪

♪ Oh, oh, oh, what a big mistake ♪

♪ I thought things were going okay ♪

♪ But they turned out wrong ♪

Oh, it itches. It really, really itches.

♪ And I hope everything works out before too long ♪

BARNEYOh, me, too.

♪ But until they do ♪

♪ I'm going to sing this song-ong-ong ♪

♪ Oh, oh, oh, what a big mistake ♪

Whoa!

PANDORAGoodness gracious.

♪ So, so, so, you made a big mistake ♪

♪ For goodness sake ♪

♪ Is that you can learn ♪

♪ You can learn BARNEYYes.

♪ Yes, you can learn from your mistakes. ♪

Oops!

Ta-dah!

Oh, maybe if I put the top back on the box,

the spots will go away.

Oh, excuse me, I'm in a hurry!

But it was too late.

The itchy spots were already out.

Oh, no!

Oh, what am I going to do?

And then, Pandora heard a voice

coming from inside the box.

Do not scream and do not shout.

I'll take away those spots, just let me out.

Who said that?

I'm in the box

and I can make the itching stop.

Just lift the lid and open the top.

Uh, I don't know.

Last time I did that, something bad happened.

Oh, I think it'll be all right this time.

Okay. Oh...

Ooh!

Who are you?

My name is Hope.

And I remove spots better than soap.

Whoa, oh, my! Oh, look at that!

( giggles )Wow!

Whoa!

Wow!

Hey, all our spots are gone!

Oh, wowzer!

Look at Hope!

There they are. Oh! Oh, the spots!

BARNEYOh, they're on the butterfly.

Always, always have hope.

That's my advice.

Hope can turn something bad

into something nice.

Oh, thank you, Hope. Bye-bye, Hope.

The point of our story is really good.

When someone tells you to wait, you really should.

So learn to be patient and soon, my friend,

the wait will be over

and it'll be the end.
