Capital Castle is holding a quiz

I wonder what it’s for.

It must be where the contestants sit.

A contestant is a person taking part in a quiz.

And here’s A Monster.

He’s got the cards that contain all the answers.

If A Monster has the answers,

I wonder who has the questions.

Alice, Brian, and Cherry Berry are here, too.

And look who they are with.

It’s King Wordy and Queen Scribble.

Queen Scribble has organized the quiz and King Wordy

will be the quiz master.

Look, Queen Scribble has written out

all the questions for King Wordy on a piece of paper.

The ABC Monsters are very excited about the quiz

and can’t wait for it to start.

Ladies, gentlemen, and ABC Monsters,

it gives me great pleasure to present

Queen Scribble’s Quick Quiz.

[cheering]

Can we bring on the contestants, please?

(narrator) Here come the contestants.

Hmm, there seems to be a spare seat.

There is somebody missing.

Look, one of the contestants is missing.

Oh, dear. We can’t continue the quiz

without all the contestants. Whatever will we do?

We should check to see if all the ABC Monsters are here.

Good idea, Alice.

We need to find our contestants quickly

so that we can start the quiz.

Just leave it to us.

(narrator) So, with a wave of Cherry Berry’s gesture stick,

all the ABC Monsters line up in alphabetical order.

(narrator) One of the ABC Monsters is missing,

Hmm. That sounds weird.

Oh, I know.

(narrator) That’s right. The missing letter is Q.

Oh, no.

Q Monster is our missing contestant.

Let’s see if the ABC Book knows where we can find him.

The clue says:

The ABC Book is telling us to go northeast.

Hmm, that’s near Capital Town Sand Quarry.

(narrator) So Alice, Brian, and Cherry Berry

took the old dirt track through the woods.

I’ve never been to a quarry before.

I wonder what it’s used for.

We’ll soon find out.

The quarry is just around the next bend.

Hey, who’s that?

(narrator) Look, everybody, it’s Mr. Quinn.

Hello, everyone.

I’m Mr. Quinn, and I drive this digger.

This is a sand quarry,

and it’s my job to dig up all the sand.

The sand is then used to make cement for building houses

- in Capital Town. - Wow.

Only I’m not able to drive my digger today.

Why is that, Mr. Quinn?

Because of that little duck.

I need to take him somewhere safe

before we can carry on digging in the quarry.

Q Monster couldn’t help me, but maybe you can.

You’ve met Q Monster today?

That’s brilliant.

We’ve been looking for him.

If you can solve my problem, I’ll give you a useful clue

that will help you track Q Monster.

Fantastic.

We need to make a noise that sounds like a duck

so he’ll swim over to us.

Don’t worry, Mr. Quinn. We’ll help.

we’re going in the right direction.

Hmm. I can’t see anything here that has anything

to do with keeping warm and snug in bed.

(narrator) Just then, Alice spotted

a familiar face, their old friend, Quinton.

(Alice) It’s Quinton.

Let’s go and say hello.

- Hello, Quinton. - Hello, everyone.

We’re looking for our friend, Q Monster.

- Have you seen him? - Yes. You just missed him.

Q Monster helped me collect my washing

from the washing line.

Oh, dear.

How are we going to find him?

Well, my nice clean quilt has been blown off the washing line

and it’s now someone in the garden.

If you help me to find it,

I’ll give you a clue that will lead you to Q Monster.

Great. We’d love to help.

(narrator) Can you see the quilt?

Look closely and shout out if you see it.

That’s right.

It’s stuck in the apple tree.

Well done. You found Quinton’s quilt.

I’ve been looking for that everywhere.

Now, I’ll be snug and warm in bed tonight
