come from lots of places

Lucy oh nothing much we're just playing

have you seen Tina she'll be out in a

minute her class read some books from

our room and she's taking them back hey

I want to show you and then something

I'm so sad and feeling blue I don't know

what I should do this just hasn't been

my day

I just wish someone would care anyone

from anywhere and Chase my Blues Away

excuse me Tina I believe you dropped

and that her team will help pick these

up thanks I'm having a really bad day

well I think your day will get much

better now that we're all together what

happens to make this such a terrible day

for you Tina well this morning I got

soap in my eyes and then I spilled a

bowl of cereal all over my favorite

dress oh my and I was in a hurry to

change and I didn't see that I put on

one blue sock and one green one

and then I accidentally grabbed my dad's

lunch bag instead of mine what's so bad

about that I had to eat a sardine

sandwich and cottage cheese

with no dessert oh my and now all these

books fell everywhere you're right Tina

that does sound like a pretty bad day

that's still not the worst thing that

happened what could be worse than

sardines when I ran out this morning I

left the door open I went back to close

it and I couldn't find whiskers anywhere

whiskers he's our kitty well I think he

ran away and it's all my fault don't

worry Tina when he gets hungry he'll

come home sure

Tina's got a song about a cool something

and now I'm telling you I'm feeling

oh she didn't even tell me where she

planned to go I don't know I don't know

how she really expected me

dance to make you feel better I wasn't

dancing and I don't feel better I was

hopping around because I stubbed my toe

Barney I just feel like crying oh that's

so if you've been hurt and it hurts real

bad or if you have feelings that are

making you sad then it's okay it's okay

crying is Nature's Way of helping bad

feelings go away

so if you've been hurt or are feeling

bad whether you're a kid or a mom or a

dad it's okay to cry it's okay

stump my toe before I had lots of

different feelings what do you mean

first I felt bad because my toe hurts so

much then I was mad because I stubbed my

toe then I almost started laughing

because you all look so silly we didn't

look pretty silly that's right Tina we

all have different feelings every day I

know a fun game we can play that will

show you what I mean

Baby Bop would you like to play the

feelings game too

game well first of all you need to make

some feelings faces feelings faces what

are they oh come on I'll show you

now it's time to put it all together

those look very happy

now I'm going to tell you a story about

a girl named Teresa and every time her

feelings change I want you to hold up

either the happy face or the sad face

once upon a time there was a little girl

named Teresa she lived in a small town

but had lots of friends to play with her

then one day her mommy told her that her

family had to move far away Teresa

didn't want to leave all her friends or

the house she'd grown up in

her mommy hugged her and told her

everything would be all right

one day after the move Teresa sat on her

porch Lonely with nothing to do

her dog Butch wanted to play so Teresa

took him to the park nearby

[Music]

when they got to the park Teresa threw

Butch's ball for him to Chase and bring

back

then she saw a big tall slide where lots

of other children were playing she

couldn't wait to climb to the top and

slide all the way down

when it was her turn Teresa climbed to

the top of the slide but she was scared

to come down

a nice boy at the bottom told her not to

worry and that it was lots of fun Teresa

slid down the slide

[Music]

but when she landed at the bottom she

bumped her elbow and it hurt

Butch licked her cheek and the boy

helped her up her elbow didn't hurt so

much then

then the boy said my name is Leon would

you like to be my friend Teresa said yes

Butch said woof they were very excited

to have their first new friend at their

new home oh

as Teresa walked home for dinner she

knew she would like living in her new

city after all

sad on the same day it's true

about whiskers Tina I bet when we get

home he'll be waiting for us in the

window yeah I sure hope so I really love

our kitty

oh my castle it won't stay up oh what's

the matter Baby Bop my that's all keeps

falling down boom boom I know how you

feel baby boss when I get mad my face

turns red I stamp my feet like Baby Bop

did I hit my pillow

sometimes everybody gets real mad it's

even true for your mom or dad so if that

feeling gets a hold of you tell me some

things that you might do

sometimes I run or jump up and down I

kind of words black and red or I might

hold tight to an old stuffed animal

mine's a monkey named Fred

and after I do it seems to be true that

I don't feel so bad I talk about my

feelings

I make a fist or stamp my feet or scream

with lots of power or I sing a song this

fast and loud once I sing for a half an

hour then to talk about what deals with

your friends

I guess we all do different things when

we're mad I have a fun way to get over

being mad you do what's that I scream

you scream but that's not way to stop

being mad it is if you scream for ice

cream

well Lucy why don't you show us how to

it's even okay to be mad sometimes

a smile and a laugh can chase troubles

away

and I think love is the very best
