finally good luck to miss yen Sunni and

the junior girls volleyball team gearing

up to take on Riverside Oh girls and

remember the Park View athletic program

motto it doesn't count we weren't ready

so I get mad I've arranged for one of

our brightest parts to show you around

well I'd like you to meet our secretary

MS Pratt

power behind the throne Jim Kilroy Jim's

gonna be spending a few days with us he

writes for the local paper he's

researching an article on the students

why have they done something interesting

well you see our readers want to know

what today's kids are like so I'll be

taking the pulse of a generation you

know hanging out rapping with the kids

please rapping with the kids

so the generation he really said that

yeah that's a lot of pulses I mean

checking them all would take a while

right so of course he's gonna check like

two and then and then say the rest are

all the same yeah we're gonna be like

lumped up with that Stephie max Jeff

Devin's I'm so insulted I can't speak of

course if he picks the right pulses yeah

maybe a couple of the more irregular

ones today's youth could be a lot more

interesting to mr. Kilroy expects so

this guy's gonna find out some things

she doesn't quite understand he's gonna

blow it way out of proportion and he's

going to be shocked no matter what so we

might as well give him something to be

shocked about so what do you think this

is really good is it for the next few

Bolton well it was going to be but with

that reporter in this school I was

thinking maybe I could get an article in

the real paper

I'd be excellent The awkward years by

Becca Fisher yeah except if I send a

note to the Metro standard saying I'm

Becca Fisher and I'm 14 they'd probably

tell me to get real but if I give it to

the reporter guy directly who knows oh

there is yeah Stephie come on

see they could hand it out at the end of

the year it's very exciting yeah

similar to trophies only more we have

more classrooms

oh hey step you got a sec mr. Petrowski

asked me to pass on a message he was

wondering uh mr. Kilroy here would like

to spend noon hour with the A+ Club 8

plus Club who started an a-plus Club why

didn't they ask me it was Hillary Clark

so do you want the real story just what

the principal's representative tells yet

I'll take you to the science room now

today we're field testing some new chalk

great lunch time meet me here

go ahead ask them Oh No maybe I should

just write a letter No thank God mr.

Kilroy hi hi um I'm Becca Fisher and I'm

a writer and I was wondering if maybe

your paper might consider me doing a

youth column oh well um what I suggest

you do is you sit down you write two or

three sample columns and then

as you know Becca the path of a

journalist is a rocky one I mean it

takes literally years of in the field

training to earn the kind of seasoned

credentials that today's readers demand

I'll pass this on to my editor no

promises but keep your fingers crossed

yeah okay thanks keep it across

let's do it alright you just run up to

me from down the hall okay okay you got

it I've got it okay

listen I talk I am so sorry I'm late man

but mr. tux

Arkel down on us in geography today and

kept this late so I just what did you

just say somebody ogle T oh um he was

just going on and on and on about all

these stupid facts like like he wouldn't

shut up

especially if someone pulled a Waldo

Faldo on for hours Hey

okay the resident rebel no no uh Jim

Kilroy me Zed he's our student council

president uh president said Jim Kilroy

he works for the Metro standard they

sent one of their top investigative

reporters to get the real scoop on

generations ed I guess you could say

most of us sees it as a role model I

mean everyone wants to be like Zed oh

yeah you know even I want to be like

said yeah I guess you can say it's kind

of a higher mode of consciousness yes

yeah like achieving that pure state of

said Wow

it's a pleasure to meet you said no

judges hands

serious faux pas man I mean that is a

sign of disrespect a serious

all right what should we tell Kilroy

what our favorite snack food is anything

covered in orange cheese powder croutons

nut

we don't snap because we want to show

unity with people with cholesterol

problems do you guys have to do this I

mean he seems okay and he is doing me a

favor

Becca you don't have to have anything to

do with us all right so what do we do

that just bugs our parents we take part

on film projectors no wait wait wait I

do that come on you guys he's a reporter

okay he's gonna see right through this

look we need something to tease him a

little I mean something we can't even

reveal to a cool adult like him like I

don't know a secret hand she may be like

I got it I got it okay how about this

what if we jump up every time we hear a

certain word so every time someone says

this

okay you see I was elected because I

appeal to certain Cults at school uh you

mean crw no Cults like The Druids they

worship trees yeah like uh zed zed

promised to build them a circle of giant

Stones you guys are pulling my leg right

uh Mr killroy you you'd better not

insult a druid yeah I hear they have

some pretty strange

rituals don't say I didn't warn you no

the whole internet thing has been pretty

well screeched to death I mean AD don't

think it's totally Zach but kids know

it's pretty Mr

Belding discuss the implications of

Hawkings contention that the SpaceTime

continu may be finite but lacking

boundaries this is a question for which

grade seventh pretty basic really but uh

they have to start

somewhere do you like rock and roll are

you kidding rock music I don't think so

so uh what do you listen to instead

industrial mostly ah okay so you mean

technal no I mean like table saws power

drills that sort of thing

right okay it seems to me that that your

slang is based on television situation

comedy well where do you think we

learned how to talk oh okay so it's sort

of like this electronic babysitter

mother tongue and and it's stayed with

you right

I mean it's not like we can avoid it I

mean all our parents have cable plus

everyone on TV's just so

happy you see I see yes yes these shows

reflect a bland yet idealized world and

the endless reruns provide you with the

absolute

dependability or total braininess as you

might say yeah yeah sure that's exactly

what I might say

cool hey pizza is for everyone it's on

my expense account H oh thanks but

pizza's junk food a lot of people are on

medically restricted diets you

know cholesterol

Unity so you're not going to eat

this what was that what was

what

nothing he bought it all he even brought

the

pizza you guys actually think you pulled

something off huh well yeah I mean it

was fun and if he bought it he deserved

it you know yeah but even if you fooled

killroy he has tons of bosses that

wouldn't believe any of this stuff it's

just too

weird come on now they might be a little

hard on

killroy find out he's a lousy reporter

and give him a worse job yeah like a

paper boy yeah and then no one will ever

take anyone who's 14 seriously

again oh well at least he's gone we can

just forget about it

so what were you up to last night out

worshiping trees

again they printed it

mhm what are the

[Music]

odds vice principal patosi famous for

the day he taught a life skills

class coin cloth what and after

accomplished powerlifter Stephie L bench

pressed the vice principal vvo the perfu

football team considered her one of the

boys what is

this Mr pki please

anybody no ma'am we do not have a junior

Druid Lee uh no ma'am the boy with

purple hair is definitely not council

president is

he got like a million phone messages

really yeah um Tri County Chronicle uh

St George Daily Press and some guy from

inside look all want interviews what's

me it says you're the Bold voice of a

new generation you're quoted most in the

article Horus do you know what this

means this could be my 15 minutes this

is so insan how long are you going to

keep this going I don't know for as long

as I can I guess I mean should I hold

out for bigger bucks bigger demands what

do you

think this is such a riot why do they

buy into this it's like they want to

hear the

worst so we may as well give it to him

you should be steamed I'm not I I should

be trying to calm you down I should be

wiping foam from your mouth foam yeah

Christine come on look I hate to

disappoint you but I'm not mad I mean

Tucker has done a valuable little public

service and I'm glad they printed

this sorry yeah cute it's kind of a

habit anyways you want to get on

k*ller's good side right I don't see how

this could have helped okay well

obviously all killroy wanted was some

juicy story right no matter how stupid

it was which is exactly why they need a

kid columnist they have no clue so I've

written another one explaining how kids

aren't alien life forms if they bother

to listen do you think they'll print

it well if Tucker tells them that he

fooled them they'll have to run a

correction right and if they get someone

like me to write it it'll show that they

have some integrity and all I have to do

is convince Tucker no way but Tucker

this can't go on forever why not I tell

him what they want to hear they slurp it

up why not take all the free publicity I

can get I mean a voice voice of a new

generation is My

slogan better let me I'll represent you

James

[Music]

management um I'm sorry my client's busy

right now can I okay okay

gee who is it some killroy guy oh right

here it is he found

out

hello yeah hi

you you want to see me right now

urgent okay um I'll be right over yeah I

I

guess yeah that was him uh he says he

was thinking a lot about the the article

and he wants to see me and talk to me

now well yeah I'm I'm a little nervous

about this I mean what if they don't

have a sense of humor

what if they have really good

lawyers you know I haven't had a

reaction like this to one of my

lifestyle pieces in years oh yeah see

well maybe then I I should explain I'm

just sorry that I have not done it

sooner what I couldn't have done it

without you and your Insider knowledge

oh yeah well I think everyone agrees

it's time for the truth to come out W

pkv called me this morning they want me

to discuss the

story they want you to go on as well W

pkv the radio station want me as a bold

new voice of a generation me are you

serious really oh yeah tell you starting

to smell Awards

Tucker okay here's what we got to do

this is a call-in show right so if we

want to keep this thing alive we call

keep

pawling jammed the lines so no other

kids can blow our cover got it okay I'm

looking for new CDs what do you think

the sound of Sanders or propane torch

songs I got the three dolla program to

Java station perfect they're never gonna

forget this feedback have you heard I'm

gonna be on the news radio tonight right

and then all weekend I'm totally booked

with interviews now first off I have to

figure away to merchandize me should it

be a Tucker lunch box or a Tucker pez

dispenser so you're actually gonna keep

this thing going on right yeah I mean

why not no what's that okay um dear Miss

Fisher thanks for your submission while

you're writing is adequate and your idea

for a student columnist is a good one

we're afraid you personally are not

quite appropriate for that

responsibility but thanks anyway

Jim Kilroy

can you believe this I mean oh he

doesn't have a clue but he still has all

his power I guess maybe I was just

counting

talk about naive huh

that guy me too no I hate this guy I

mean look at this look even his

signature is obnoxious look but even as

Jay that that Jay offends me what's with

all the like stop at the end of it don't

you think he might have even bigger

think about I mean they give me all

these chances to sh**t my mouth off when

I'm not even from the one who has

anything to say yeah but Tucker you do

like this bull voice of a new generation

stuff you do sure baby I do but maybe

it's time for that title to change hands

w PK oh you know the drill Jim I

introduce you then the topic then we

take some calls you gotta go together

then Brenda gets to get back at you got

it Tucker I'll do most of the talking

just back me up if I ask for it yeah I

just relax kids sort of sit there stare

into space you'll be fine now views on

news with Robert Dinsdale we're live

with journalists Jim Kilroy author of a

controversial and some people insist

ridiculous article about the students at

parkview junior high hello also with us

is pundit Brenda Bennett assoc ologist

of humanists observing the ongoing

evolution of you for hui good evening

and also Tucker James voice of a new

generation hi Bob well the show we're

taking your calls on generation zero the

beginning okay in a line one you're on

the air hi oh uh listen quick quick

druid question um I've got some rights

coming up and I'm having a little

trouble with my stone circle as I point

out in my upcoming book here is a

generation that has taken up an obscure

religion for its cool factor a

generation that is easily impressed what

gullible if you will yes caller yeah I

just wanted to tell those guys that this

whole thing is becoming a little bit to

golden girls man here we see semantic

modification and using recycled mediated

phraseology where are the unique Nia

logical contributions any thoughts on

that target no thank you Bob she's

trying to make him look stupid don't

worry about it guys he's not gonna take

it for long dismiss him another

misguided trend is the confused belief

in the unity that they profess to hold

for cholesterol free

oh all the surname twice the fat what

are you doing you you don't eat junk

food I don't oh yes you believe all that

druid stuff too yes paragraph for the

the student body president guy he

worships trees sure on your planet what

about the construction noise you

consider that music wow the phone line

for you're on the air oh hi Tucker um I

was just wondering exactly how easy was

this to pull off which part Becca making

it all up or getting him to bind me once

again the media has dubbed feet first

into the issue of the moment without any

facts don't you mean some of the media

gives the clown I got it wrong yep you

put him on the air which gave him

credibility you might have actually got

published

push my bestseller off the shelves

edition what we go a recent study found

an alarming trend among adults these

days towards new country music

department store cowboy boots and

sweeping generalizations these adults

also known as generation wrinkly his

word such as relate a lot without

actually doing it so does what I'm

saying represent all of them is it

another trend well believe what you want

to believe but if you ask me articles

that try to lump the whole group of

people together are just a wee bit to

leave it to beaver at least that's my

opinion by Becca Fisher do you guys ever

think that we might have started

something that isn't so easy to stop now

I mean it's a fad fads don't last I mean

a month from now everyone will have

completely forgot about this

no lineups no parking hassles and no

special passes needed now you can see

the best movies in prime time and

there's always a good seat two great

movies coming this fall on c kv u 13

you
