Today we're just going
to play some jeopardy.

across the Jeopardy screen.

I've discovered more about
the nature of the game
and am thus closer to winning.
- Ify I'll move on to you,

- Oh, good I thought I
was about to get sunk.
I will move to Theme Parks for 800.

- So it seems that we've
discovered some parameters.
Thus far only orthogonal
moves one square at a time
are allowed that's right orthogonal baby.
- All of a sudden you have a pipe

- Welcome aboard.
- You find yourself each
at the helm of a ship,
adrift on a dark and foreboding sea.
Despite the undulation of the waves
all is eerily still.
A thick fog permeates the
air as well as your minds.
For the life of you.
You cannot remember who you
are or how you ended up here.
All you can remember is a grab bag
of general knowledge trivia.
I believe Ify that is your move again,
- The 80s for 800.
Alright yeah, the 80s were a good time.
- Ally that's you.
- I'm gonna go Italy for 800.
- Brennan you look down
off the deck of your ship
and you discover a rowboat
lapping calmly at the waves,
a rowboat that seems to
belong to an old pirate,
- I would like to address
this pirate and say,
I know not your face.
But I fear that that don't
mean much as I barely recognize
my own tell me traveler,
do you know who I am?
- Oh, I'm afraid.
There's very little memory
or knowledge left anymore.
On the Jeopardian seas
here knowledge, it is like treasure.
It is our most valuable resource
we where ones rich with knowledge
but then a terrible sea serpent
plunged us into darkness.
- I've two questions for you pirate.
Number one, where be this sea serpent?
- Oh, should I answer that,
I see I thought I'd get both
questions and then answer both
- No cause the answer to this question
may affect question number two.
- Unfortunately for all of us
wait long enough in the
serpent will find you.
They say up is down and left
is right endings are beginnings
and beginnings are endings
questions are answers
and answers are questions
and such will be the case
until the serpent is destroyed.
Things are other things, those things,
the first thing you get it.
It's like a whole upside down rigamaroll.
- Question the second me heartie.
How may one reach
the answers at the bottom of these patches
of wide open sea?
- Oh, you seek answers, do you?
- Aye
- And yet you should seek questions.
As I lay here at night, staring
longingly at the full moon,
an answer haunts my soul.
An answer to a question
I've long forgotten.
- Give me your answer traveler.
And I shall give you your question.
- The pirate leans forward,
excited and trembling.
- I gaze up at the sun
setting on the horizon
lay a weathered hand on
the gunnel of my ship,
gaze at this pirate
and say what be Pirates
of the Caribbean matey.
- That's right my child
and just like Pirates
of the Caribbean is a ride underground.
So I've heard I've never been. So too,
is there a secret city
on the Jeopardian Seas.
All one must do, is be swallowed up by it.
And with that she rows cackling away
giddy with her newfound knowledge, Ify.
- Thinking it's time to go down
to the 80s for a 1200.
- You, Ify stumble upon a stone statue
of the God Poseiden
- I'll touch it I wanna touch the statue.
- You touch the statue,
it's smooth to the touch.
It's cool as you lay your
hand upon it, you think,
and you're not sure if it's
a trick of your mind that you
can almost feel a heartbeat
coming from inside.
- I try and talk to the statute and say,
what can I do to free you?
- Very faintly you hear
[humming]
- And with that, we will
move on Ally the next move
is yours.
- I am going to go the 80s for 800.
- And we are back to Brennan.
- I will set sail South
for theme parks for 1200.
And back to Ify.
- Go to Italy for 1200.
- Italy for 1200 Ally it's all you.
- I will go to Italy for 800.
- It-aly for 800 Brennan.
- Oh, shocking.
- Keep her steady as she goes helmsmen.
Theme parks for 1600.
- Theme parks for 1600.
- Look at you all trying
to be sneaky and steal
what are ya'll, some type of pirates?
- Ify.
Unfortunately, y'all got the
best pirate of all right here.
- Oh sh*t.
- Let's go down to 1600.
- 1600, you hear singing
- Oh no.
Two beautiful looking sirens.
On the rocks, singing a captivating song.
♪ Potent potables potpourri ♪
♪ Potent potables potpourri ♪
And this beautiful singing lures
you up onto the rocks where
you find yourself stranded just as
a sea serpent.
Oh no.
- appears in our game.
Ally the move is yours.
- I'm not scared I'm gonna
go to It-aly for 400.
- [Brennan] Captains ye be mad!
The serpent's gonna eat you alive.
- Brennan
- Let's keep her headed
South theme parks for 2000.
- You're not gonna try
to come save me okay.
I see, I see you Brennan.
- Three turns of paralysis,
the sea serpent is going to
take an attack of opportunity
on Ally. Ally, your ship
is no match for the might
of this sea serpent.
The serpent swallows you whole and yet,
as you are traveling
through its digestive tract,
you are suddenly spit out the other end
to the Whirlpool,
a Whirlpool, unlike any
Whirlpool you've ever known,
because this Whirlpool
appears to be inverted.
It is spitting you out
versus luring you in.
You cannot confirm,
but you have reason to believe
that somehow this Whirlpool
and the serpent are connected.
Brennan, back to you.
Oh my God.
- Change course master helpsman
due West Shakespeare for 2000.
- As you cast your eyes onto the horizon.
- In search, I think for this world,
you suddenly hear a groaning
underneath you. Something,
that's not the floorboards of your ship.
Something very much alive.
You cast the ship's wheel to
the side and make just enough
way for an enormous whale to
break through onto the surface.
The whale turns its head toward you
and almost seems to smile.
- Ooh.
- I would like to point
at the whales open mouth
as it smiles and say, "Helmsmen!,
set a course for that whales gullet
- You with a reluctant crew.
I should add swing your sails
in the direction of the whale.
The whale opens its
mouth revealing to you,
a seaweed city inside the whale and
a representative of that city,
broaches the mouth and says,
"Hi welcome to the city of the whale.
"so I'm Alvin I'm the head
of the tourist bureau here.
"How may I be of service?
"You staying a short time, long time?"
- Greetings to ye Alvin I'm
the captain of this vessel.
Having heard the wisdom of the
wide seas that there lay an
ancient city within the
gullet of this whale.
- Forget for a momen-
- Oh, so-
- What's that?
- You talked to the pirate? You
talk to the old pirate lady.
- Yeah I talked to the old pirate lady.
I think I said it kind
of with more gravitas,
but yeah, I talked to
the old pirate lady and
- She was here for a couple of,
she was here for a couple
of weeks we got drinks.
- Listen here Alvin forget for a moment.
how you might be of use to me.
I'm more concerned with how
I might be of use to you.
Perhaps you have an answer
and I've been longing
for a question.
- Ah well I gotta say as someone who
you know spends their life in service.
This is like kind of a big deal.
I mean, nobody asks after Alvin.
So if there's anything you need,
I trust you let me know
some times when the kids have gone to bed
and there's nothing good on
TV anymore I'll stare out the
window and this answer will
tumble around in my head like
a sock in a dryer
- Here's the issue Alvin.

The problem here is that both

Seas just be warned.

can land anywhere in the sea.
- I am not going to sail
back out through the mouth.
When there is another
mechanic of the game,
we could discover. Onward
to the spout helmsmen.
- You are spit out of
the spout of the whale.
And you find yourself
in video games for 800
Ify I think you are still.
- Skibedee boop. Bah da doot.
What you just singing me a tune?
- Yeah yeah just skididebop
op, I'm on a rock.
Something told me to sing on a rock.
When you're on a rock,
it's feeling good on this rock hell good.

- The sirens look at you.

What is the Trevi Fountain?
- The Trevi Fountain,

certain shy creatures.

The trip through the digestive
tract of the serpent really
did a number on you.
You lower yourself down the ladder,
overboard peer under the water
and see what you're almost
sure are two beading eyes piercing out
from under a log.
- I'm wondering if it's really shy.
So I say you're really pretty [laughing]
- You hear a low sort of murmur in return,
a sort of a dismissive murmur
And that is all.
We are going to turn to the
serpent who is going crossover
into theme parks, Brennan
the move is yours.
- Due South video games for 1200.
- Iffy.
- East as well, theme parks for 1600.
- Ally that is you.
- I would like to swim up.
Take a breath out of the water
and look to where I just came from.
This reverse whirlpool,
which I'm wondering,
does that seem like some sort of force
that could move this shy guy?
- It is not the force
that you are looking for.
- I would like to go to
video games for 1600 please
- Video games for 1600
it is the serpent's move.
Serpent is going to move
to Shakespeare for 400
that's Brennan.
- Due South and give a fair greeting
to Captain Beardsley on the way,
- A wave between captains.
- We each hold out our hands and we go.
Two hooks.
- Ify that's you.
- All right, I'll sail east to Shakespeare
for 1600
- Ally once more.
- I would like to go to Red
Herring for 1600, please.
- Serpent is going to
take his turn coming down
to Shakespare for 800.
Brendan, that's you?
- Helmsmen due south.
- Oh, Brennan's onto something.
- I'm gonna dive into the water
and whistle out over the open sea and say
Alvin you said that you've
never been paid a kindness
You've lived your life in service
and that for the first time someone had
asked you if you needed
a question for an answer,
I'm calling on my favor Alvin you bring
that great Leviathan to call.
- Alvin hears your call.
Well, what can we do for you
here in the city of the whale?
- There's a coward hiding
under that sea log.
And I think he'd enjoy a
little ride aboard the whale's
spout my good Alvin.
- Yes, yes, sir.
Consider me a part of the extended crew
of the SS Whatever You Are,
and he ducks back inside the whale.
The whale turns sort of groaningly around
dips below the water.
Next thing you know
sh**ting out of its log is
the Mer-ctopus.
- Literally out of my dream diary.
I thought my hiding in a log
would have made it clear
that I'm not eager for company.
- Well, Merc-topus, there's
only two things I know.
Number one, you are
I'm just going to be frank and blunt.
You've been rendered
kind of very attractive.
Is that weird to say?
The Mer-ctopus is strangely hot.
- Something you should know
about the Jeopardian Seas
is that everyone's really hot.
Number two Mer-ctopus.
Is I know the creatures of
this far flung and accursed sea
have all the answers
and long for questions,
pose your answer to me,
and I shall see if I can question it.
- If I give you my answer,
and you give me back your question,
may I return to my Sudoku?
- Yes do you?
by the way, do you do
I do the easy-
All of my Sudoku books are only
one third done just the easy part.
- I hear that yeah, it gets,
you'd like to think that you would like
are going to build it out
as a skill and improve.
But really, I just get so
frustrated by the medium
and hard ones there's no
joy in it for me anymore.

- Fair enough.
- You know, some kids are video game kids
and other kids take their copy of Lord
of the Rings and sit under
a tree outside and read it.

and a saber that can be pulled out
of the coral as red herrings

you will not be able to pull
the sabre out by yourself.

to have any hope of defeating the serpent
and saving this land.
- I do hear what you're
saying in principle,
but let me see if I can
work my way around this.
- Unbelievable.
- If I were to threaten you
with physical force,
wouldn't that theoretically
be another person
that I could collaborate with?
to pull the saber?
- The mer-ctopus all
of its arms come up and it covers its face
with all of its hands.
And it says how did someone
with a homeschool education become
so wildly competitive you
had no one to compete with.
- I think you answered your
own question [laughing]
- Ye seek it out.
- Ify that's all you
- All right I'll head
to video games for 1600
- Ally
- North for me, please 1200.
- Serpents are video
games. [Ally] as*h*le.
- Brennan.
- Do I get the idea that if
this Jeopardian Sea is kind of
like a Pac Man where if
I sailed South I'd appear
at the northern most spot in video games
- You could try.
- To the edge of the
world lads, sail south
- And you come back round to the top, Ify.
- I will go Red Herrings 1600
- And serpent has the
opportunity here to get
so it does. Brennan you are
sucked down into and out
of the Whirlpool Brennan.
It is your go again.
- Due south Red Herring for 400.
I'm gonna shout out at the sea
serpent thanks for the help
ye nasty sea serpent.
- You see a saber stuck
deeply inside some coral.
- I am going to exclaim loudly.
The mer-ctopus was probably
lying and I'm going to jump out
and attempt to pull the saber out.
- It moves not an inch.
- Why won't this reward
my individual efforts.
Ify that's all you.
I've done the math and I'm going south
to the Whirlpool Ally.
I'm going to red herring for 800
- The serpent appears to be
somehow propelled by the saber
and so takes a move back,
Brennan that's you again.
I see the approach of Captain Ify
coming from the south and
Captain Beardsley headed north.
So I'm going to say
everyone quick quick hide
all the stuff we used to
try pull the saber out
make it look like we've
been waiting here for them.
Put out a spread. Put
out finger sandwiches.
- [Ally] I'm sorry I already saw it.
- Ify that's you.
- I go south.
- South to end up at Red Herrings for 400.
Ally
- Full speed ahead north
to land at red herrings
for 400 players,
as if propelled by some
mechanical force that neither
of you knew was present.
Your ships fall together
like some badass transformer.
And your blue red and
green sails become those
of a combined ship.
A ship that now wields the Saber.
You will now make your moves together.
First, the serpent is going
to back up one more time
threatened by your newfound status.
Players where would you like to go?
Maybe go east to pop up on
the other side of the 80s?
- Set sail for the 1980s
- End up at the 80s the serpent
once more threatened by you now moving
in the other direction and
where we'd like to move crew
- 80s for 800.
- The serpent to move
south and one more time.
Where would you like to move?
- 80s for 1200
players you arrive at the stone statue
of Poseidon. What do you do when here?
I say we take this saber and plunge
it into the sea god's heart.
No kings, no masters.
- That might k*ll him right?
Let's just chop off the hand.
- I don't want to cut any of his body off.
It looks like he's pointing at something.
What is he pointing at something?
He's pointing imperiously
at us poor mortals.
Let's behead the sea God.
- What if we do a practice
stab on the shark?
- You line up for your
practice stab on the shark.
And all that happens
is you touch this stone
with the edge of that saber.
And a crack begins to form in the stone
as if it's ice.
It spreads throughout the statue
and the statue crumbles away
from the top to middle as it does dust
rises into the sky.
And out from the bottom comes this guy.
God damn man son of a b*tch.
How long was that?
Was that like a thousand years?
Was anyone keeping tabs on that?
- Oh, hey, brother
- Hey, how's it going?
- Hey, what's up, What's
up what's up Poseidon?
You are I'm the captain of the
ship that you're looking at.
I am also the captain of the ship
- Oh right of course yes co-captains.
- Yeah, there's three co-captains.
It's like a whole f*cking
lesson about collaboration,
- I'm not into that I'm
more of a solo player,
you know what I'm saying?
But whatever floats your
boat, literally speaking,
- Hey, you know what, man?
we were wondering if you
have an answer that you would
like a question to.
- I got a answer to a
question needs some asking.
But that's cause you're in
need of some more wisdom
to guide you on your journey?
- I want to be very clear.
I'm not after wisdom.
I'm after the dollar amounts associated
with these questions.
- Well, I don't know much

I'm sort of nonmaterial
kind of guy, but sure.

until the serpent is destroyed.

are answers and answers
are questions I wonder if
the reverse is true too.
In other words,
would the serpent be destroyed if up
were made down again
- Are you suggesting that
if we sail up the Serpents
as*h*le we'll eat it
and then it will be dead
- Well that's one idea.
- Set a course for the serpents as*h*le
- Absolutely not I grab the wheel
- Oh my god I'm literally
getting out voted.
This is why there's not three captains
on a ship
- One day it was like everything
got turned upside down.
And suddenly that whirlpool that had
only ever gone down went up instead.
And when it did the serpent
got flung out of there.
- Welp I never noticed this
whole time that compass
is upside down.
- Due south set a course
for the compass roses
as*h*le
- Everyone's quarantine horny.
- Together you make
your way down to the tip
of the compass.
The three of you lift
your anchors together
and throw them across this
giant metal objects they clang
as they tighten the power
of your combined ship
backs up and moves them
together very slowly the
compass moving around and
as it does you feel the gravity
of the game shifting waters that
once moved right move left waters that
once moved up, move down.
The serpent pulled by
this newfound gravity
of the Whirlpool moving in the
other direction is sucked in.
He lets out one primal
screech as he's lured finally
into his water coffin the
three of you have saved
the land of the Jeopardian
Seas with your combined efforts
and your trivia knowledge.
- We all working together reversed
the cardinal directions and sucked
that sea bug up its own
as*h*le. Incredible [laughing]
- And in an instant it
all comes flooding back
to you were reminded that
your names are Brennan
and Ify and Ally and
you are playing a weird
internet game show over video conference.
And you've all collectively
won Tushy bidets.
[laughing]
- Keep that as*h*le clean.
- Are you being serious
right now that we did a
whole as*h*le bit on this
thing and the real prize
is a bidet.
