Eddie struggles with how to strategize for nominations.

--we're going to be doing.

The $,, it's not all that much.

But you know, what would I rather have more-- what--

what would benefit me further in life is a stronger friendship.

Like, if I-- I could build a friendship in here that's

worth more than $,. - Mhm.

Mhm, mhm. - You know what I'm saying?

But see, the thing is, Eddie, I guess what I'm saying to you

also, is I think we're arriving at a point

where people don't see you nominating

them as a personal affront.

Like, you can be really close with somebody

and nominate them as part of the game.

Right, right.

There's only seven people up in here.

There's only six other people, other than you.

Right, right.

You know.

Yeah.

In the final analysis, people are going

to have to get to that point. You know.

Right, yeah.

And-- and I mean, I've had that mentality from the beginning.

I know.

It's just-- you know, I don't know.

I see-- I see Jamie doing, you know,

whatever the hell she wants to do around here.

And she'd be making that $,.

She'd be doing that and modeling this year.

Mhm.

Same thing with Josh. Same thing with Britt.

I love Britt.

Britt is a doll, you know? - Yeah.

Mhm. - She's the most popular.

And I'm seeing her as the biggest threat.

The biggest threat to me getting paid.

You know?

And I sound [muted] vicious when I say this, but I'm like,

you know, I love her.

But I'm like, your a*s needs to go.

And I see you, who-- who-- you know, granted,

you're established crew.

But you need to take care of your mom.

So-- so I mean, like, I'm--

I'm telling you right now, I'm going

to stray away from nominating you till the end if I have to.

And the same thing with Chicken Man, you know?

When you're-- when you're strategizing,

and you know we don't-- we don't get into discussions

about nominations, really.

But when you're strategizing, you know you can't tell

what the public is going to do.

Exactly.

Therefore, don't sit there and say,

somebody stands between you and the cheese.

That is, they need to go now.

Because they might not ever go.

I see that too.

Because it might put them right back up here.

But I've come close to people in here.

I've come close to you.

Last thing I would want to do is hurt your feelings.

And you have to-- you have to watch that.

Eventually, the boom is going to come down on somebody that you

feel extremely close to.

But again, they may not ever leave the house.

So you have to look at--

you know, you got to weigh your options.

Because the public might just keep putting them right back,

and they will continue to be an obstacle.

IAN [VOICEOVER]: The Moment-of-Truth game

continues to have an impact.

That'd be hard, like, having the house pick you as a person

to leave, like they did last night for Curtis.

Who is most likely to be banished this week?

- Curtis. - Curtis.

[laughter]

That'd be kind of hard.

I think though--

The %.

--that we-- also, that we did it because of %.

You know?

Same reason why when you guys both were

saying who's going to win?

You guys, both teams said me, because of %.

Mhm.

Most loyal?

Jamie, I think.

There is the whole Karen incident, though.

No, I'm just kidding.

Most two faced?

Jamie.

Most loyal is also most two-faced?

I knew it.

Listen, you got voted like, loyal and honest on it.

That was awesome.

And then the tie for the two-faced thing,

like, I wondered if that would happen because of Karen.

Because I voted for Karen.

I thought, I'm sure that Eddie or you know,

someone may not understand that completely.

So that didn't surprise me, but--

it's stuff like that, if you do what's right,

like, that's all that matters. You know what I mean?

Yeah.

Most insecure.

- Brittany. - Brittany.

She is like, I am not hurt by any of it. 'Cause it's like--

like, for being most insecure, it's

like, I know I'm not any more insecure than anybody else

here.

I just verbalize it.

And anyone that's going to talk about--

I mean, Eddie would never talk about his insecurities.

He's no less insecure than I am. You know?

Mhm. I agree with that.

It's like, I knew I was going to get picked.

Because I'm secure enough to talk about my insecurities.

So I'm like, all right, that.

And then wishy-washy, I mean, I don't think there's anybody

here that's wishy-washy.

But I change my mind a lot.

So that doesn't-- I mean, I don't think that's wishy-washy.

I think it's whatever.

So it totally doesn't bother me.

And then it's like, as far as lazy, I think that's hilarious,

because I'm the most non-lazy person.

It's like, there is no way.

There is no way you get the grades

that I got, or have the money invested that I have,

and own a duplex.

Right.

And do all the [muted] I've done in my life if you're lazy.

"Does the least amount of house chores."

Well, who else does nothing?

The good-- the good and the bad didn't really--

I don't know, it didn't do a whole lot for me, either way.

doesn't have responsibilities.

I mean, this is the first time since I was like, ,

I haven't had a job or responsibilities

or things I had to do.

IAN [VOICEOVER]: Jamie and Cassandra discuss stereotypes.

I think that in a lot of ways, each of us

here contradicts our stereotype.

Absolutely.

Absolutely.

I think, I hope I do, anyway, from what people think off us.

Yeah. 'Cause let's say that you're the average

beauty queen, OK?

Yeah.

The fact that you've got so many layers

to your personality, and you're so smart, and you're so deep,

you know what I mean?

I think that probably people are surprised

at that, when they hear that you're a beauty queen.

- Right, probably. - You know what I mean?

Probably.

I think that in addition to like, being someone

that the black community would be really proud of,

I think that the bigger effect is

what it's done for the white community,

and what it's done for the public in general.

So many Americans, all they have is

what they see on TV, with respect

to exposure to diversity.

Absolutely.

Absolutely.

And-- and for this show, on top of you not just--

we're not playing any roles here.

It's just-- it's-- it's who you are.

Mhm, absolutely.

And it's who your character is,

and everything that you are about is exposed.

Absolutely.

And whenever you leave, I think that you'll be like, wow.

And when you're unable to reflect on it with sanity--

Mhm, mhm, mhm, mhm.

Which God knows when that will be, but yeah.

[laughs]

And you're in the outside world,

and you get to read articles and things like that.

Yeah, yeah.

I have a feeling that people are going to see

it from that perspective.

I don't know.

And-- and if you think about it, when you look at white America,

and the type of examples, like you, that white America has,

I think that we're still trying to get to the point

where it's the rule, not the exception

[funk music]

First of all, like Britt, Jamie--

[sighs] how can I say this?

--she also is extremely open-minded and kind of

bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, in the sense

that she wants to know things and she

wants to understand people.

And she wants to get deep and you know, learn about things.

So I think that before she moved into this house,

for example, her interactions with Mega,

I don't think that she really had

thought about a lot of the issues

that-- that maybe he and I deal with.

So I say things that I think that I take it far

enough for her to get a basic sense of my feelings,

or my thinking.

But I don't go deep enough for her to get into my head.

Because I don't want her to then start worrying about what's

going on in my head.

You know what I mean?

[dramatic music]

IAN [VOICEOVER]: Just before banishment, Josh and Brittany

share a private moment.

It seems like so long ago.

Doesn't it?

Seems like a long time ago to you?

Doesn't to me.

Seems like we just walked in here to me.

It's been just flying by, yeah.

Yeah?

Everybody's view of time is different.

Well, if I go out, then I'm glad I met you.

I'm glad I met you too.

You were just what I needed, something unpredictable that I

didn't expect.

Something I couldn't expect.

And it's a nice feeling.

We'll stay friends, right?

Like, even if you're pretty happy.

Like, only stay in it if you're like,

the happiest guy in the world.

You know what's weird for me, Eddie?

You know, I've never really played

competitive sports or anything.

Or been in any type of competition.

And the thrill of the anticipation.

You like that, huh?

You know, Andy--

It's pretty cool.

You see, once you feel it man, and you get like,

a little tasting--

[smacks lips] [chomps]---- you go crazy for it, man.

It's weird, you know, even though you

might be on the bummer end of the stick--

Yeah, it's cool just to be on the stick

just to find out which end you come out.

Well, I like it.

I don't know if it's a good feeling.

It's a feeling that makes and destroys people.

But I like it.

I'm .

It's made me so for.

I'm sure it'll destroy me someday. but--

You see, I've never felt it.

And I'm-- I'll be .

It's a good feeling.

I think that's why I'm so nervous.

It's nothing to me.

I had competition in my--

I don't know, just in my taste buds for years.

But it reminds me of the football player

before the Super Bowl, man.

I know this ain't nothing like that.

But it's like, you're waiting for the opening kickoff

or just ready to run out on the field, you know?

Exactly.

It's cool.

It is awesome. it's a good feeling.

IAN [VOICEOVER]: Immediately after Brittany is banished,

the houseguests react.

Oh man, that was--

I didn't even get a chance to say goodbye to her.

You know?

None of us did.

She was the last person that I thought would be walking.

IAN [VOICEOVER]: As co-host of the live show,

Jamie knew Brittany would be banished

before everyone else did.

I didn't know what to do.

It showed.

I walked in that room, and I opened that envelope.

And there's a reason why they told me from the beginning.

You know?

They could have had me open it at the very end

and say the name.

Mhm.

And they didn't.

[WHISPERS] Yeah, but that was a kick in the shorts.

No kidding.

And to come out there and you know, I couldn't--

I didn't want to look at anyone.

So I'm like, OK, I'm going to look at everybody.

[laughs]

So I talked to everybody and looked in their eyes

and was just trying to--

acting, my acting debut.

That was my acting debut.

[laughs]

Oh my gosh.

It's OK.

You did a fine job.

And my hands were like, shaking.

I'm like, look at my hands. You know?

It was just--

But still, you did fine.

- You didn't think-- - You did good.

You didn't think it was you know when I walked over to you,

did you? You know I wouldn't do that.

- No. - OK.

It was so tough.

Like, I had to just start walking

around in the middle of it.

Because I felt tears, you know?

And I'm like, oh my god, I can't.

You know, if I start crying, people will know.

You know?

Mhm.

They'll know who's going.

I was acting.

I wasn't hosting, because I had to act my butt off.

You know what I mean?

It's just so emotional though, it hasn't hit her.

She's-- she's in such shock.

Because I know Britt.

And when her and I start talking, we both start crying.

And I know she is emotional. it's just--

it's just like me, it hasn't hit me.

There was some shock still.

With the airplane thing and everything, see,

I thought that that was it for the old man.

You know?

[laughs]

It's like, she was the least prepared to leave of anybody.

I thought she would be the last one.

Yeah.

It's me again.

Yes, you and I have to uncomfortably sleep

for another two weeks, at least.

Can you handle that?

Because I know I can.

You be good to me, I'll be good to you.

I'll make you look good and stuff.

And then when I'm in you, you know,

you got to chill and be nice to me, and be all comfortable.

And yes, walls, I know.

I won't put as many holes in you and stuff.

You know what I'm saying?

I got nothing but good things to say about Brittany.

Every-- I think every--

every chance I had, you know, every spare moment I had

and I spent with Brittany, it was-- it was a good time.

I mean, I can't really think of any specific good time,

you know?

It was just-- it was always fun, you know?

And-- and you know, I just--

I wish her the best of luck out there.

And I'm sorry to see her go.

Brittany was just plain hilarious.

I don't have a favorite story.

Just because every story involving Brittany

is just hilarious.

The stuff I remember most about her or liked most is like,

pool time with her, when we would pool raft.

Because that's what I would get Brittany being serious,

or to the extent she could be serious, and like,

talk to the real Britt and hear about all her fears,

and her whole-- ugh, her terrible boy problems.

[laughs]

Which is funny, I guess.

I don't know that I have a favorite Brittany story.

Number one, she always said things to me

like, I like having you around because I

feel like I can learn from you.

And that was really important to me, that like, she--

she would talk to me.

And she would like, listen to me.

And she would share her life with me.

And that was really fun, because I learned a lot about her.

And I felt like she was trying to learn from me as well.

And then, also, I think what was important was that she just

wanted to leave her old life.

I thought that was pretty cool.

Because it's not something that I'm--

I'm doing now.

And it was just interesting, seeing somebody who's

closing a door on their old self,

and walking into a new body, basically,

a new psyche, a new everything.

And I thought that was pretty cool.

The night her and Mega, Mega sat over there and he told her,

"Don't write the checks that the uh can't cash."

And when she-- when her--

She stood up.

Yeah, she stood up to him, you know?

And also, you guys, when she dyed my hair.

You know, in the very beginning,

who would have thought that we would become such good friends?

you know, she is a contradiction, in that there

may be a certain way people in our general society

may have a stereotype of someone with hair and piercings.

Yet she's an amazingly intelligent,

accomplished woman.

And yet, she's one of the funniest people,

the most interesting people, most affectionate

people I've ever met.

[laughs]

She's altered our speech patterns and our phraseology.

Mhm, mhm.

[laughs]

Yeah.

Well, I can remember the first time I really started to care

about Brittany, was the night that Mega was here

and he got in a fight with you.

And then he went outside and started arguing with Brittany.

And I remember going out there, and just

to try and keep the peace a little bit,

and just to be there.

And I remember, the funniest thing to me, that I saw

this big guy yelling at her.

And she was just arguing right back.

And that wasn't the best part.

The best part was he came into the house.

[laughter]

And she went right back after him.

And I thought to myself, what is this girl thinking?

[laughter]

She followed him in.

That's right.

She followed him into the house.

I had to go get her.

And I was just like--

she just like, won my heart that night.

You know? it was like, you know, if you could have

that much courage in that little body of your against him,

you know, we all have to have a little bit of courage in us.

[laughs]

[funk music]

As much sadness and disappointment and heartache

we see in Brittany going, everyone in here

is a little bit more--

you know, eyebrows are perking up.

Oh wow, I'm that much closer.

Anyone in here who tells you differently is a liar.

People come in here and-- and whether

or not they say that they--

they want the experience and this and that--

[sighs] --the fact of the matter is-- is that you know,

yeah, you might be in here for the experience.

But it still comes down to the money, the $,.

It's not a lot of money.

[rock music]

You seem sad?

I am.

[laughs]

[sighs]

It's funny, 'cause you totally know

you're going to see her soon.

And days or less I think, you know?

It's just, you know, pretty sad to see somebody leave,

you know?

I guess 'cause Brittany is the first person to leave

that I was really close with.

And if it have been some of the other banishees,

I would have been sad.

I don't know how sad.

And I guess you still don't know how you're going to react.

But I think because there was nothing about Brittany that was

really disruptive to the house.

And in fact, really, among the housemates,

I never would have expected her to go.

So maybe it's that it's caught me by surprise.

She was really important to the house.

And she was a good friend, and funny, and hilarious.

And she's-- you know, she's a beautiful person,

on the inside, on the outside.

So for her to be gone is strange, you know?
