FLASH GORDON: Blasting off on adesperate mission to save Earth

from the evil plottings
of a tyrannical space

lord, Ming the Merciless.

Dr. Hans Zarkov and Dale Ardenhave joined me, Flash Gordon,

on a fantastic journey
into a worlds where

peril and adventure await us.

Ahh.

The moons of Mongo arefull, and their full force

brings my power to its peak.

It is time my Magic Men.

Obey the will of Azura.

Fly away to the Arboria
Palace and carry out

my plan to win FlashGordon while my powers are

at their greatest.

DALE ARDEN: This
Mongo chess game

isn't over yet, Flash Gordon.

That's what you think, Dale.

Your king is surrounded.

But it's my move.

Sir Gremlin, my bold knighttake the enemy queen.

No, not my queen.

[inaudible] .

Come in.

You're a good knight, Gremlin.

Yeah, good night, Gremlin.

THUN: Flash.

Why don't you and Dalefinish your game tomorrow?

We should not be out on thenight of the Mongo Moons.

Azura, queen of the Blue MagicKingdom will be out tonight.

And so will her Magic Men.

You're right, Thun.

Time to turn in.
- Sure.

I can put my victory
off until tomorrow.

We'll see about that, Champ.

Sweet dreams.

I see, so you like beingDale's knight, do you?

Well then, Sir Gremlin, go toDale's terrace and stand guard.

It's the night of the
Mongo Moons, you know.

We can't be too careful.

Protect your lady well tonight.

And tomorrow during
the chess game,

how about joining my side?

Well, you can't
blame me for trying.

Good night, Sir Gremlin.

Take care of your lady.

What?

Huh?

Magic Men.

Sorry guys, visiting
hours are over.

They're gone.

Now you see them, now you don't.

Really Now here's the secretof the magic business.

You see Gremlin, it's
all done with mirrors.

For their tricks, a
magic wand or two.

Too bad Dale missed
the magic show.

Magic Men in Dale's room.

Dale.

What's going on?

FLASH GORDON: She's gone.

They've taken her.

Hey, it's not your
fault, little buddy.

Cheer up.

You can't be in
two places at once.

You saved me, and
now we'll save Dale.

OK?

Good boy.

Thun, warm up the Land Rover.

We're off to the
Blue Magic Kingdom.

Where Azura rules the night.

All right, Lion-man,this night belongs to me,

Azura, the witch queen.

And with your help, DaleArden, and the help of my ice

man, Zeron, I will
possess my heart's

only desire, Flash Gordon.

To save the girl, FlashGordon, you must pay a price.

You must become my king.

Grrrr.

Easy, Thun, I know
the dangers of being

out tonight, but Mongo
Moons or no Mongo Moons,

we've got to save Dale.

Keep a stiff upper lip, pal.

Don't worry.

You, Flash, and I, the threefinest warriors on Mongo,

will have Dale free in no time.

And teach Azura a lesson.

This cave should lead
us into Azura's lair.

Magic Men.

Looks like Azura
was expecting us.

Azura's laboratory shouldbe down this tunnel.

Uh-oh, wrong tunnel.

Ah, it's the abracadabra g*ng.

I suggest we disappear.

Oops, more wizards.

Let's try that tunnel.

Thun, this way.

Thun, look out.

Step on it, pal.

Gremlin, where are
you, little buddy?

AZURA: You have nothing toworry about, Flash Gordon.

My Magic Men will not
hurt your friends.

As you can see, the girland the Lion-man are safe.

They are free to go if youconsent to be my husband.

I'd rather not, Azura.

You have no choice, Gordon.

Share my rule.

Become my king or you andyour friends will join

Zeron in his frozen eternity.

No deal, Azura.

Either way, your cold heartwould turn me into an ice cube.

Then your warm
heart shall vanish.

Score one for me, Azura.

Your score, Gordon.

Zeron.

Run mortals, run.

You'll never escape Azura.

Prepare to meet your icy fate inthe wastelands below my domain.

Zeron, Zeron.

Awake.

This is definitely
not my night.

Zeron, cast our visitorsinto the frozen wasteland.

So much for my
disappearing act.

We need a bigger fire, Gremlin.

That should do the trick.

No.

Zeron's afraid of melting.

They're getting
away, you fool.

I guess this isn't
my night after all.

Face it, Dale, you're trapped.

There's no escape.

Oh, you think so, huh?

Sure.

Look for yourself.

I have your King in check onemore move and it's all over.

Right, and it's my move.

Sir Gremlin, my bold knight, take me the enemy, duke.

Hey.

Checkmate, Flash.

I win.

I need a new game plan.

And, once again, Sir Gremlin,my knight wins the day.

MING: Too long has FlashGordon meddled in my affairs.

Every time we have met
he has foiled my most

carefully devised traps.

But not this time.

I realize now that the
way to strike at Gordon

is through his friends.

And most particularly, atthe one he calls Gremlin.

My cybernetic
expert, Dr. Tav, has

developed the very
thing that will spell

doom for Flash and his friends.

So Dr. Tav, have you
finished the robot

I asked you to construct?

Right here, Your Excellency, all fully operational

and ready for your commands.

Excellent, Doctor, excellent.

Once my agent substitutes thisrobot for the real Gremlin,

Flash Gordon's
hours are numbered.

Now, the object of thisgame is to run with this ball

here down between
those two poles there.

Understand?

Well, let me put it this way.

The man holding the
ball is your opponent.

Do I tackle the
man holding the ball?

Right, that's what you do.

Why did you do that, Thun?

You were holding the ball.

Did we win?

Touchdown, Thun.

Fighting Ming's robots wouldbe easier than teaching you

two clowns to play football.

Let's try a practice run.

Dale, you're quarterback.

Too bad, Thun, but theydon't call me the first lady

of football for nothing.

Gremlin.

Sorry, Gremlin.

You fumbled, you go get it.

You have your orders.

Proceed in the name
of Ming the Merciless.

What's taking him so long?

I hope he didn't get lost.

THUN: There he is.

Let's have the ball, Pal.

Hey, take it easy, Sport.

Signals, 18, 64, 7.

Gremlin.

Hey, little guy.

Dr. Zarkov spent
a whole afternoon

working on that football.

Now what do you think's
gotten into him?

Let's find out.

Gremlin?

Gremlin?

Gremlin?

What's the matter with him?

I don't know.

Gremlin wouldn't do that.

My lion instincts tell
me it's not Gremlin.

It's some kind of robot.

Look out!
Let's get to cover.

I'll bet I know
who's behind this.

Ming never gives up, does he?

Neither does his little pet.

Here it comes again.

Look over there.

If we can make it tothat cave, we'll be safe.

They are almost within
transporter range.

I can't move.

It's some kind of force field.

Where are we?

Greetings, Flash Gordon.

We meet at last.

You know my little
pet, of course.

Who are you?

What have you done
with the real Gremlin?

All in good time.

I am Dr. Tav, EmperorMing's chief robot expert.

All Mongo knows of Dr. Tav.

The warped genius who created
Ming's evil metal men.

Thank you, Lion-man.

I'm glad to know my humblework has been appreciated.

Gremlin.

Let him go.

By substituting a
robot for your pet,

it was a simple
matter to fool you.

Now we have you,
like rats in a trap.

Well, if it isn't
the head rat in person.

You speak bravely, FlashGordon, but for how long?

You've done well, Dr. Tav.

I'll be there soon to takedelivery of my prisoners.

See that nothing
happens to them.

After all these long months, after all my scheming

and planning, I will finallyhave my revenge upon the Earth

man and his friends.

Guards, attend me.

We go now to keep ourrendezvous with an old enemy

for the last time.

They tell me the sl*ve minesare lovely this time of year.

At least free Gremlin.

Gremlin is to become theEmperor's new watchdog.

Don't let him escape.

Gremlin, remember football.

Fourth down, time to punt.

We're free.

Way to go, Gremlin.

Stop him.

Quick, behind this column.

Thun, help me push.

That takes care
of the home team.

It's all over, Doctor.

DR. TAV: Not quite,
Flash Gordon.

You haven't seen my
robot at full power.

Look at it
changing and growing.

Gremlin, no!

Gremlin doesn't have achance against that monster.

You're finished, Flash Gordon.

We'll see about that.

Your opponent has the ball.

Go for the tackle.

Touchdown.

I can still get away.

Sorry, Doc, but you've
got a lot to answer for.

It's taken a long time, butmy revenge on Flash Gordon

will be sweet indeed.

What?

On this fat belly I
do declare that Ming

is a turkey beyond compare.

Your Excellency, I--

No need to apologize Tav.

You'll have plenty of timeto think over your failure.

They tell me the mines arelovely this time of year.

Oh, no.

FLASH GORDON: Well, we can allrest easier now that Dr. Tav

and his evil duplicates
are out of commission.

Living with just oneGremlin is too much for me.

We may not be
out of trouble yet.

Look.

It can't be.

You know, I think he looksbetter with the mask on.
