FLASH GORDON: Blastingoff on a desperate mission

to save Earth from
the evil plottings

of the tyrannical spaceLord, Ming the Merciless,

Dr. Hans Zarkov and Dale Ardenhave joined me, Flash Gordon,

on a fantastic journey
into worlds where

peril and adventure await us.

[pulsating sound waves]

DALE ARDEN: I never
knew you had in you.

You're the best dancer out here.

Natch-- they don't callme the Flash for nothing.

Watch this.

Thank you.

Thank you.

I gave up a promising career inshow biz to be a rocket jockey.

Ha,ha.

I can see that.

You are definitely
a first-rate ham.

I wish I could get
Barin to play like that.

Uh, uh, I think I coulduse a little refreshment.

That sounds like a good idea.

Shall we?

How about a couple of hotfruit punches, my good dragon?

Za-ba-ding.

Za-ba-ding.

Glad I didn't ask
for a lava toddy.

[rumbling]

[crashing]

Wh-- what's going on?

FLASH GORDON: Would you
believe a Mongo quake?

Come on, Dale.

Let's get out of here.

I'm with you.

FLASH GORDON: Over there.

Wow!

Now, that's what I
call an earthworm.

[boing]

Quickly, take
only the strongest.

These are great specimens.

They will provide
much sport for Ior.

[rocks grinding]

FLASH GORDON: That ray reallygave me a stiff upper lip.

Yeah, and also
head, arm, and leg.

GREMLIN: Call!

[chattering]

I see they got
you too, old pal.

I wonder if Barin
and Aura were captured?

FLASH GORDON: I'm
sure they escaped.

We'll then help
will be on the way.

I don't want to
wait that long.

I think I'm going to cut my wayout of this tin can right now.

Well-- and how are
you going to do that?

With this laser
pen Zarkov gave me.

Za-ba-za-ba-ding.

Shh, don't want
to wake the guards.

Now, let's see what's out there.

Hi, guys.

I bet you thought I
was trying to escape.

Actually, I was looking
for a drinking fountain.

[thud]

How was your little vacation?

It bottomed out pretty fast.

It looks like we're
here, wherever that is.

DALE ARDEN: Where do you thinkthey're taking us, Flash?

Somehow, I get the feelingwe're not going to joy land.

I've stayed in cheap hotelsbefore but this is ridiculous.

Um, hm.

I am Ior.

Welcome to the Cavern City.

That must be
the man in charge.

Aye-e.

Easy, Gremlin, easy.

You have been selected
to play in the game.

I know the citizens of Arboreawill prove worthy contestants.

And I look forward to seeingyou perform in the arena.

The game-- arena?

What was that guy talking about?

I hope the Super Bowl.

[chattering]

PRINCE BARIN: What
kept you, Aura?

Don't you realize we don'thave a moment to lose?

PRINCESS AURA: Final adjustmentshad to be made on the engines.

PRINCE BARIN: Let's go.

There are Arboreans that
need help down there.

I hope this group doesbetter than the last group of

pathetic beings brought here.

Let the game begin.

[horn sounding]

FLASH GORDON: I guess I'vebeen chosen for the first team.

Don't get hot around thecollar just yet, Gremlin.

I'll bring you back a trophy.

Don't do anything
until I get back.

IOR: Arborean, you will try andgive me a good show, won't you?

[clank]

FLASH GORDON: Uh, let me guess.

We're going to play a gameof tiddly winks, right?

Why do I feel a
headache coming on?

Uh, oh.

This one is doing well.

I hope they all last as long.

FLASH GORDON: Well, bigguy, since you won't listen

to reason, I guess I'm
going to have to take

you down a couple of notches.

Well, done.

Argh!

I can see I made you angry.

[thud]

IOR: Spectacular.

Well, what are you waiting for?

Finish him!

It's my play, now.

You dare defy me, Arborean?

I promise you, your
next visit to the arena

will not be nearly as pleasant.

[thud]

Take them both to the dungeon!

Flash, you're all right?

I got my tail feathersroughed a little, but I'm OK.

Why did you spare me?

We're men not boys.

Life is too important
to be wasted on a game.

My name is Athos.

My people once ruled
the Cavern City.

Now, we are its principalsource of amusement.

Hm, are there more
like you around here?

On the other side ofthe arena the dungeons are

filled with my enslaved people.

What this place needs is alittle Independence Day party,

right Athos?

Going to use
another laser pen?

Nope, my pink friend here.

OK, Gremlin, do you think youcan burn through this lock?

Ah, sure you can.

Come on, give it a try.

Come on, Grem, we're
counting on you.

This time I want you totake a deep, deep breath.

This time we're really
going to go for it.

All right now, follow me.

You can do it,
Gremlin I know you can.

FLASH GORDON: A little more.

That's it.

Go for it.

That's just the way I likeit, Gremlin, well done.

Let's do it!

Now, we have to get
you boys out of here.

Uh, Uh.

Let me help.

FLASH GORDON: Ugh!

Ugh!

[clank]

Now, we will
take back the city.

Za-ba-ding.

Za-ba-ding.

[thud]

Stop them!

Here comes trouble.

The cowards!

Look, Barin.

PRINCE BARIN: Capture him.

All right, guys.

It's over.

Throw down your weapons.

Do as he says.

[crashing]

We have regained the city.

From this day forward, thegame is abolished forever.

[cheering]

Well, it looks like thecavalry finally got here.

You're just in time to
give us a ride home.

What do we do
with this fellow?

Ask Athos, he's the
new boss around here.

Ior will stand
trial for his crimes.

You saved my life
and my city, and I

don't even know your name.

My friends call me Flash Gordon.

And you, my man, aredefinitely one of my friends.

ATHOS: For what you did for
my people, Flash Gordon,

you will always be a welcomefriend in the Cavern City.

Uh, oh.

Look at our little
friend over there.

Eh, eh.

Well, Gremlin.

I hate to say it,
but it looks like you

are not a hot shot anymore.

[laughing]

[theme music]

[hammering]

[machine working]

MING THE MERCILESS:
Finally, a weapon

that will destroy Arboria.

And the beauty of it is, they'llnever know where it came from.

When will the synthetic
meteor be ready, Enak?

ENAK: Momentarily,
once launched it's

inner spore will come to life.

And thus the end ofArboria and Flash Gordon.

[diabolical laughing]

[whirring]

FLASH GORDON: Trim
your retro stabilizers.

Thank you.

I can handle it
without your advice.

I was just trying
to be helpful.

You were trying to tellme how to fly the simulator.

Watch this.

Gee, Dale.

I'm sorry if men are justbetter at some things.

Ha.ha.

DALE ARDEN: I'm sure they are.

Lots of things.

But I haven't found any yet.

FLASH GORDON: That
was no simulation.

That was a real collision.

Well, let's not stand here.

GREMLIN: Za-ba-ding.

Za-ba-ding.

PRINCE BARIN: Please stand back.

The meteor is still quite hot.

FLASH GORDON: So that's
what rocked Arboria.

DALE ARDEN: It's
amazing a meteor

that size ever got
through the atmosphere

and our defense shields.

It really is an oddity.

I'm having it taken to thescience museum for study.

There's the sky crane now.

[whirring]

[clank]

[gurgling]

[cracking]

What's all the
commotion in here?

[growling]

What!

Oh!

[buzz]

[siren sounding]

[growling]

[pluck]

[sh**ting]

PRINCE BARIN: It's up there.

I tell you, I've never
seen anything like it.

Eee-e.

Get a light on top
of that building.

[click]

FLASH GORDON: Barin,
clear the area.

[crash]

Post guards and move
everyone else back.

Tell those guards,
whatever they do,

don't get that thing angry.

PRINCE BARIN:
Redesigning this hover

tank with a corbonite diskwas smart thinking, Flash.

I just hope it worksagainst that space octopus.

DALE ARDEN: How long
will it be before Zarkov

finishes analyzing that meteor?

He says the soonest he willfinished will be tomorrow.

That thing is not going
to go away by itself.

Dale, you up to
chauffeuring this one?

Are you sure you can
stand a woman driver?

GREMLIN: [chatter]

DALE ARDEN: Nobody asked
you for an opinion.

Boing!

Uh.

Ah.

Good luck, you two.

We need more than luck.

[engine starting]

Shall we.

DALE ARDEN: Hold on, guys.

Here we go.

[growling]

Sounds like it hasn't
had breakfast yet.

DALE ARDEN: How about we giveit a large helping of corbonite.

Just what I had in mind.

Our guest is
clamouring for service.

Let's give it to him.

The corbonite didn't evenput a dent in that thing.

Everybody off!

[crash]

Thanks.

Anytime.

But now we've got a
bigger problem, him.

After the corbonite
ray, the only thing

left to throw at thatcreature is the kitchen sink.

Corbonite is the most
powerful force on Mongo.

But it's not enough.

Zarkov's report is finished.

Well, what does it say?

Dr. Zarkov says
it can't be stopped.

What?

Let me see that.

It says here that our friendout there is a synthetic plant

with a silicone base.

No wonder the
corbonite can't hurt it.

It's made of sand.

It also says that boththe meteor and the creature

are made from a silicone
base that's only

found in one place on Mongo--

the Magnetic Mountains.

Now who do we know that livesin the Magnetic Mountains.

Ming.

You've got it.

But how could Ming create it?

Zarkov's working on
the answer to that now.

All he knows for sure is itwas delivered by the meteor.

Wait a minute.

You've got something there.

What are you talking about?

Delivered.

If we can't fight it, maybe wecan deliver it out of Arboria.

But how?

What's the biggest
cargo ship we've got?

The Galactic Skytrain.

But how are we going
to get it into the cargo

bay of the Skytrain?

That's your job.

My job will be flying
it out of this galaxy.

Are we ready to getOperation Stork underway?

We're ready here, Flash.

GREMLIN: Ee, ee, ee.

We're ready on this end, too.

Well, let's get
this show on the road.

[growling]

[smash]

Take careful aim, Aura.

This shot has to be goodenough to make it follow us.

It's taking the bait.

Keep firing, Aura.

Dale, were almost
in your sector.

Get ready.

DALE ARDEN: Let him
have it, Gremlin.

[zap]

[chattering]

[sh**ting]

[growling]

Get ready, Flash.

We're about to make a delivery.

[growling]

FLASH GORDON: That's it.

Come on board.

You and I are going
to take a little ride.

[sh**ting]

And now to drop you offsomewhere in the Milky Way.

[engine starting]

So far, so good.

I'm climbing intostratosphere now and-- oops!

Maybe I spoke to soon.

DALE ARDEN: What's
going on up there?

It seems our friend doesn'tlike riding in the cargo hold.

I've lost power.

DALE ARDEN: You're
going off course.

[growling]

[shattering]

[growling]

Flash, can you hear me?

Please come in.

FLASH GORDON: Everything'sA-OK on my end.

I had to make a slightalteration in plan though.

I wasn't able to get our
friend out into space.

- It's back on Mongo?
- Don't worry.

The Skytrain went down overthe Magnetic Mountains.

DALE ARDEN: You mean--

FLASH GORDON: That's right.

Ming will have to watch forhis own pet from now on.

[growling]

[laughing]
