01x15 - To Live Again

Post by bunniefuu »

Trapped in the Leader's secret
laboratory beneath the mesa,

Hulk has destroyed
his own great absorbatron

and is being blasted
by attacking soldiers

just as his young friend,
Rick Jones, arrives.

The smoking ruins
of the underground lab reveal...

No Hulk or his accomplice, Banner.

But look at what those traitors
did to the absorbatron.

No, Dr Banner wouldn't.

He's a saboteur
for some enemy power.

I'd like to tell the fool,
but wisdom dictates a quiet retreat.

- The boy, gone?
- After him. He must be in on this, too.

Back to his hidden cave,
that's where he'll head.

But in the cave,

the Hulk, with only scratches
where b*ll*ts bounced off his skin,

remembers the destroyed absorbatron.

The Leader to blame!

Hulk find and destroy evil little man!

At the moment, his quarry is safe
in another underground lab,

troubled only by the complaints
of certain customers.

Forget the destroyed absorbatron.
It was only a defence weapon.

I can offer you now,
for a mere billion dollars,

the greatest offensive weapon
ever created.

To prove it, I will destroy
the m*ssile base within the hour.

Meanwhile, Rick, at the cave...

He's gone. Where can he be?

In search of the Leader,
that's where.

They will pay double
after this demonstration.

Once I've collected, I'll turn
my deadly engine of destruction on them.

The entire world will bow
to an army of giants

subject to my telepathic
commands alone.

Now, sl*ve, to the great southwest
m*ssile base. Destroy it completely.

Walk right through the mountain.

Nothing can stop you!

Patrol planes.
Show them.

They cannot hurt you.

Even heavy a*tillery fire fails
to stop the monstrous behemoth.

Even the Hulk's slow brain
is sparked by the sight.

Evil giant serves Leader.

Now for my revenge.

As the Hulk leaps, battered ground
forces call for a m*ssile attack.

Two titanic trajectories collide.

The Hulk ends up
in the giant's gargantuan grasp.

No.

It's the Hulk.
Don't let him go. Hold him.

Nobody can hold Hulk like insect.

Hulk must be free.

That proves this is Banner's doing.

His green ally
is deflecting our missiles

while the giant throws him
out of our reach.

At least we have the giant zeroed in.

More missiles!

It's uncanny. How much punishment
can it absorb?

- We'll have to use our Sunday punch.
- Right, sir. Calling up M472.

- It's the supermissile.
- Coordinate computer countdown.

All personnel below ground.

- The Hulk, he's coming back.
- We'll get them with the same m*ssile.

It's him. No!
Hulk! Look out.

It's too late.
The blast wave!

General, I'm sure I saw
that boy run out.

- Ridiculous!
- The smoke is clearing.

He downed it and destroyed the Hulk.

Now I'll never learn
the secret of his strength.

But neither will he ever
thwart my dreams of conquest again.

And this time,
the Leader may be right.

Dr Banner, I'm sorry
it had to end like this.

Banner?

Forget him. If Banner is watching us,
he must realise we'll get him, too,

just as surely as we got the Hulk.

As for the giant,
he'll answer to me for this, too.

Not a bone in his body.
Just tons of foam rubber.

If nothing else, we can stuff
a lot of mattresses.

But meanwhile, for the battered body
of young Rick...

Too much.

The near-lifeless boy touches a small
part of the Hulk's brutish memory,

an almost vanished trace
of Bruce Banner.

The violent heart slows its beat.

Rick! I'll go back there
and make them believe me.

- For your sake.
- Great.

Rick! But you were... I thought...

When you changed back, Dr Banner,
I felt it.

New strength from somewhere.

It radiated from the Hulk. Yeah.

Sort of like catching
a share of the miracle

that brought back a friend!
