[Shaggy] Like, it was the biggest event of the year!

The first annual Coolsville Comic Book Convention.

Like, I'd waited forever for this.

[panting]

- You got that, Scoob? - Okay.

Selma, Selma, do you still have it?

Of course, I've been saving it just for you.

Land sakes, Shaggy Rogers.

Are you sure you wanna spend all that money on one comic book?

Are you kidding? Like, I'd pay twice as much if I had it.

- Twenty-five dollars, right? - That's right.

It's all yours.

Wow. Like, the very first issue of "Commander Cool" comics.

And there are only three left in the whole world.

[laughs] Come on, Scoob, let's go show the others!

Okay.

"Commander Cool & Mellow Mutt Versus Dr. Croaker."

Wow, Mellow Mutt!

We just bought the best comic in the world

and we still have a whole weekend of nothing but comics

and super Scooby sandwiches.

Super Scooby sandwiches?

You know, Scoob, life doesn't get any better than this.

[sighs] Yeah.

And best of all, for two days, no spooky mysteries.

- Yeah. - No ghosts.

- Yeah. - And no monsters.

[whimpering]

Like, what's the problem, Scoob?

[gibberish]

Me hate Commander Cool!

Me eat his comics!

[gibberish]

Oh, that's what you mean.

[screams] It's Dr. Croaker! Like, run for your lives!

[gibberish]

[instrumental music]

Wow, did you know Elvis' ghost

landed in this man's backyard in a UFO?

And that Bigfoot secretly married the Loch Ness monster?

Oh, honestly, Freddie, how can you read that junk?

But it's all true, Daphne. Isn't it?

Oh, get real, this whole comic-book convention

is full of people who won't grow up.

And those costumes. The colors clash something awful.

Ooh! "Fashion Flashette?" Groovy!

And "Designer Dog?" Double groovy!

Say, isn't that Shaggy and Scooby?

Dr. Croaker is after us! The real Dr. Croaker.

He had this long, icky red tongue

and he tried to-to steal my "Commander Cool" comic book!

- Y-y-yeah. - Oh, Shaggy, I doubt it.

- Like, honest, it's true. - Yeah, honest.

[gibberish]

I suppose this is like the time

when Lettuce Man was in your closet?

Yeah, and when Spaghetti Face

was living in your locker at school?

Okay, like, maybe I get a little carried away sometimes

but this time it's different.

I swear on my first edition

of "Commander Cool"

that the real Dr. Croaker attacked us!

Yeah, me, too.

[growling]

Zoinks! It's the eyeball monster!

It is? Ah!

[laughs] What a bunch of super nothings.

- Like, it's Red Herring. - Yeah.

Oh, Red, haven't you got anything better to do

than scare people?

No, I'm gonna sneak up

on those little kids and make 'em cry.

[laughs]

[Red growling]

[kids laughing]

That's not very funny.

[Shaggy] Like, we stopped by Selma's booth

to see if she saw the monster.

Hi, Selma.

Okay, come on, kid. That'll be eight bucks.

- Eight bucks? - That's right.

Take it or leave it, kid.

Okay. Here's a ten.

Hey, where's my two-dollar change?

- That's a handling charge. - What handling?

I handled it to you, didn't I?

[laughs] Now, get out of here. Go on, scat!

Cashmore, you old cheapskate.

Ah, what do I care? I hate comics.

I'm just in this business for the money. Mwah!

[chuckles] Not like you, who sells a first edition

of "Commander Cool" to some punk for peanuts!

Peanuts? Where, where?

They weren't peanuts, they were pennies!

Shaggy's my best customer.

He's been buying comics from me ever since he was a little guy.

I remember the first day he came into my store.

Like, hi, Selma.

[chuckling]
