And I was sharing a snack

with a pup named Scooby-Doo.

Oh, you two. This is a game show, not a cooking show.

Like, it's not our fault this place doesn't have a snack bar.

about the Scooby-Doo Detective Agency.

to "True UFO Stories"

Martians really own this TV station.

The eating habits of that boy and his mongrel are disgusting.

I agree. Is your pet a dog or a pig?

[laughing]

Like, neither. He's a puppy. Right, Scoob?

Yeah. A puppy.

- Oops. - I'll get it.

We'll be starting in just a minute.

[all cheering]

Gee, it's too bad they took your magic show off

so my fast-moving and fun-filled game show could be longer.

[audience laughing]

Oh, well. That's show biz. No hard feelings.

Righty-o.

Gee, it's too bad that happened.

Did you like Prestina's show?

Are you kidding? But I love the way she dresses.

'Especially those rings.'

And now, it's time for everyone's

favorite game show, "For Letter or Worse."

Where the winners get a prize, and the losers take a dive.

So here's your host, Davie the Letter Guy.

Hiya, kids. Are you ready to play?

[all] Yeah!

Great. Let's find out who today's contestants will be.

[male announcer] 'That's right, Davie, and our first two contestants are'

'Shaggy Rogers and his pup named Scooby-Doo.'

- Us? - Us?

[male announcer] 'That's right, "rou."'

'I mean, you.'

[laughs] Like, we're gonna be on TV, Scoob.

Yeah.

[male announcer] 'And their opponents are Bobby and Betsy Brainy'

'the Brainy Bunch.'

And with those two as our opponents

guess who's gonna win.

[laughing]

[applause]

[laughing]

You know the rules, kids.

Fish for a letter, guess the word and get points.

- Right! - And here's your first word.

Oh, boy. Like, look at the size of that word, Scoob.

Uh, yeah.

The Brainy Bunch will go first.

That's an easy word.

We don't need to guess any letters.

It's antidisestablishmentarianism.

[bell rings]

[instrumental music]

That's right.

Hooray!

Antidisestablishmentarianism?

Like, this might be tough, Scoob.

I'll say.

And the score is

Brainy Bunch, 25,321, Shaggy and Scooby-Doo, zero.

Like, it's up to you, Scoob. This is the last round.

Right, Shaggy.

Oops. Sorry, Davie.

Could I have my pants back, please?

Sure thing, Davie.

[Shaggy] Like, what's going on?

[lights flickering]

Blah, see, blah.

Zoinks, a ghost!

Look, Bobby, a free-floating spectral apparition.

Why, yes, it is.

[screaming]

Blah! This is my turf, see.

And I'm taking it back, see.

Like, you can have it, see.

Ditto for Davie.

- Come on, Daphne. - Yeah, like, let's split.

Oh, get serious. There are no such things as ghosts.

Blah, see, blah. Blah. Blah.

- Jinkies. - Daphne, come on.

No.

[Freddy] Alright.

[Shaggy] 'Like, good thinking, Scoob.'

Blah. So get out and stay out, see.

Get the door.

thud thud thud

Phew. Like, that ought to keep the ghost out of our hair.

This is terrible. The owner is selling the station.

Like, Scoob and I might never get on TV again.

Yeah.

I wonder where that ghost came from anyway.

Ha. Don't you kids know anything?

Haven't you ever heard of Al Cabone?

Al Cabone? Who's that? And who are you?

The name's Pop O'Connor.

I was a stagehand here at the station.

Well, I've got a story to tell you.

But it's scary, scary, scary!

Of course, it's only a legend. Who knows if it's true.

[car revving]

[Pop] In the days of the gangsters, Al Cabone was the worst.

He was the meanest, nastiest

not-nicest bad guy that ever lived.

stomp stomp

Yeah, so don't mess with me, see.

They say Al Cabone had a secret vault

where he kept all his loot.

- He did? - Yep.

[Pop] 'They say the cops came for him'

'before he could empty his vault.'

[beeping]

What a fight it was.

And when they took him away

he swore he'd come back and get his money.

But he spent the rest of his life in jail.

Then one day, his ghost returned.

- G-g-ghost? - G-g-ghost?

Once I heard some fellas found the vault.

Like, what happened?

It was terrible, horrible, gruesome!

- You don't want to know. - You got that right.

If you ask me, only a fool would want

to set foot inside that TV station now.

[thunder crashes]

[grunting]

Well, it looks like I'd better start looking for a new job.

Ta-ta.

Like, you heard the dude. Let's go home.

- Yeah. - No way.

Can you imagine what would happen

if our detective agency found the ghost of Al Cabone?

- I don't wanna think about it. - Me neither.

We owe it to our fellow game show audience

to solve this mystery.

From the mountains, to the prairies, to the malls

the kids and puppies of America need us.

'It's up to us if--'

[howling]

What's that horrible noise?

Yuck, it's coming from over there.

[howling continues]

Jinkies.

Mel, that was truly awful.

Don't like music? That's okay. I do magic too.

Voila, a rabbit.

[hissing]

That was weird.

There's something funny about that guy.

D-don't you have a place here for the Great Mel?

There's no place for anyone here

thanks to that pesky ghost.

Besides, I told you two weeks ago that I wouldn't hire you.

But maybe if you hire me, the ghost will go away.

Yeah, and so would our viewers.

Huh. He'll be sorry. I'm the Great Mel.

Hold it, buddy.

If you get hired, the ghost will go away, huh?

Are you a close, personal friend of the ghost, huh, huh, huh?

Get lost, kid. The Great Mel answers to no one.

I guess he's not gonna help us.

Well, we'll just have to go inside

and solve this mystery by ourselves.

Unh-uh. Unh-uh!

Aw, come on, Scooby. How about if we give you a Scooby Snack?

No way. He's too big.

[Shaggy] 'How about a whole box of Scooby Snacks?'

No, thanks. Unh-uh. He's big and ugly.

Will you do it for a truckload of Scooby Snacks?

Well, okay.

[revving]

Oh, boy.

Mmm. Mmm. Mmm.

rumble rumble

♪ Scoobady Scooby-Doo ♪♪

[dramatic music]

Ah!

- Okay, I'm ready. - Then let's get rolling.

Yeah. And let's split up, g*ng.

L-like, just our luck.

We would wind up at "Count Shockula's

Friday Night Horror Hangout."

Yeah.

Zoinks, it's Count Shockula!

- Like, phew, it's only Velma. - Yeah, phew.

- Get off, will you, Scoob? - You're right, Shaggy.

We definitely have to cut down on your food.

Get a load of all this spooky stuff, Scooby.

Yeah.

[laughing] Pretty funny, Scoob.

Ha-ha-ha. Blah, blah.

Blah, see, blah.

[blowing]

Yikes!

Blah. Blah, see, blah.

Oh, no.

Like, we're trapped.

[Al Cabone laughing]

Blah, see, blah.

This way. Trust me.

Whoa, like, the wall was paper.

Blah.

Hey, Freddy, look at this.

Wow, peanut shells.

And look, they suddenly stop at this wall. That's weird.

Hmm. Al Cabone must be working with the Martians.

- Martians? - Yeah.

It's a plot to cut off the Earth's supply

of peanut-butter-and-jelly sandwiches.

Freddy, what are you talking about?

Yikes!

[all] Whoa!

[grunts] Let me in, see.

Like, are we glad we found you before Al Cabone found us.

Yeah.

Yeah.

[sneezes]

- Jinkies. - Hey, Scooby found a clue.

I did?

Look, it's Pop O'Connor's diary.

- It is? - Yeah.

It says here that Pop used to be a famous radio star.

- It does? - Yes.

And his career was ruined

when the radio station turned into this TV station.

O'Connor must've been awfully mad at the station for that.

Yeah, probably mad enough to team up with the Martians

and try to take over the world.

Yeah. Huh?

It's possible, Freddy, but highly unlikely.

Maybe we should follow this tunnel and see where he went.

B-b-b-but it's, like, dark and spooky down there.

Yeah. Dark and spooky.

- Not anymore. Follow me. - Okay.

[Scooby chuckles]

[Daphne] 'So this is how the so-called ghost got onto the set.'

But, like, why would he want to come here?

To get rid of you kids, see.

Yeah. Oh.

[horn honking]

[upbeat music]

This case is just about solved.

I've followed the clues, and I know who the ghost really is.

It's obvious the, like, the Great Mel is the ghost.

Yeah.

[Shaggy] He's mad about not being hired by the station

and, like, you heard what he said.

The ghost might go away if he's hired.

- Right, Shaggy. - Nice try, Shaggy.

But it's actually Pop O'Connor.

- It is? - It is?

[Daphne] Yeah, we followed his trail of peanut shells to his diary.

And it shows that he must be mad about

the TV station ruining his radio career.

Right, Daphne.

[clears throat]

You're all wrong.

Huh?

Because I'm sure that the ghost of Al Cabone

is none other than...Red Herring!

[Daphne] 'Get on top of it, Freddy.'

'He's not even in this episode.'

That doesn't matter. Somehow I know he did it.

You're alright. Except for Freddy, of course.

- Really? - You mean you know who did it?

[Freddy] 'But can you prove it?'

Yes. Of course. I've even got a plan.

First, we..

[indistinct whispering]

Ghost? Here, ghost. Nice ghostie.

Blah, see, blah!

[chuckling]

[audience applauding]

Huh?

It's time for everybody's favorite game show

"For Letter or Worse."

And now, here's your host

Shaggy the Letter Guy.

[audience cheering]

[music stops]

Like, hi, everyone.

Our contestants today are Scooby-Doo from Coolsville..

Thank you, thank you.

[Shaggy] '...and the ghost of Al Cabone'

'from, like, beyond the grave.'

- Who, me? - 'Yes, you.'

Okay, Mr. Ghost, you get to make the very first guess.

"R."

Yes, we have an R.

Okay, like, what's your next guess?

Blah.

Oh, like, I'm sorry, sir. That letter isn't there.

That means it's Scooby's turn. Are you ready to guess?

"S."

Yes, we have an S.

'Any more guesses?'

Uh, P, E, T and A.

[cheering continues]

[Shaggy] 'Yes, again. There is a P, an E, a T and an A.'

Hey. What about me, see?

I'm sorry, Mr. Cabone

but you'll just have to wait your turn.

Oh, rats.

Would you like to try and guess what it says, Mr. Doo?

Okay. Uh..

Prestina is the ghost.

[Shaggy] 'That's right, Prestina is the ghost.'

[applause]

[Shaggy] Mr. Doo wins.

And you, mister, or should I say, Ms. Ghost, lose.

Hey. You can't do that.

But I can do this.

Ah!

Yeah.

I got your call. Good work, kids.

[coughing]

How'd you know it was me?

Yeah, I thought it was the Great Mel.

It was the Great Mel.

- And Pop O'Connor too. - Huh?

Let's review, shall we?

When you left the station earlier

Daphne noticed your rings.

Yeah, so a couple of months ago, when you first heard

that your show was going to be canceled

'you created the character of the Great Mel.'

[Shaggy] You wanted everyone to think that he could be the ghost.

But Velma noticed the same rings again.

[Freddy] Yeah, and you made up the character of Pop O'Connor

and tried to make him look guilty too.

But he also wore the same rings.

But Prestina didn't seem upset about losing her job.

That's what she wanted you to think.

Actually, she was furious.

That's right. If I couldn't have a show here, then nobody could.

And I would've gotten away with it too if--

We know, if it weren't for us pesky kids

and a pup named Scooby-Doo.

[indistinct chatter]

Well, we're back, and as you may recall

the Brainy Bunch had a slight lead

over Scooby and Shaggy, 25,321 to zero.

Like, don't worry, Scoob. This time we're ready.

Yes, ready to lose.

[laughing]

[Davie] Yes, there are two Z's in the puzzle.

Bobby and Betsy Brainy, can you guess the bonus word?

Uh, two Z's?

I've never heard of a five-letter word

with two Z's in it.

[buzzer blares]

Oh, I'm sorry, your time is up.

Shaggy and Scooby, can you name the bonus word?

Like, sure, Davie, it's one of our

favorite words in the whole world.

- Pizza. - Pizza.

That's it, "rizza."

I mean, pizza. That's the bonus word.

[all cheering]
