[Thunder crashing]

[Wind howling]

[Roaring]

[Thunder crashing]

[Shrill laughing]

[Zapping]

[Electricity buzzing]

[Crackling]

[Boy screaming]

No, don't!

Why me, why me?

Because I was the guinea pig

last time, Steven.

[Gulping]

Besides, it's only ink.

Now hold still.

Oh, tell me when it's over.

Rest assured, dear brother.

If our new "scienterrific" spot

remover works as well as we

anticipate, we'll take first

prize at tomorrow's science

fair.

For the third year in a row.

[Both laughing and snorting]

Then what are you waiting

for, man?

Dab away.

[Sizzling]

[Both coughing]

What's happening?

Did it work?

Are those tears of joy?

Actually, no.

My eyes are watering.

[Gasping]

Yikes!

Oh, great.

Now not only are we still

without a significantly advanced

science project with which to

sweep the science fair, but I'm

down a sleeve.

It's humiliating, not to

mention unprecedented.

Nothing we've tried has worked.

Your mosquito repellent

attracted bugs.

Your bicycle tire patch

melted the wheels.

And our bathroom air

freshener smelled like, well, a

bathroom.

And all we have to show for our

efforts is this?

A barrel full of ooze?

I, for one, think it's high

time we disposed of this toxic

Slurpee.

That would be wise.

But the hazardous waste depot is

clear on the other side of town.

Too true, but we must dispose

of this in accordance with local

safety requirements.

We could dump it in Jensen's

Bog.

There and back in under an hour.

Oh, I don't know, Richard.

That would be...

Our reputations are at stake,

man.

I'll get a lid.

Tsk, tsk, tsk.

Don't those two know that

polluting the environment is

wrong?

If I were to hazard a guess, I'd

say those boys were heading for

a barrel of trouble.

[Laughing]

[Wolf howling distantly]

[Crow cawing]

[Boys panting]

I can't believe I let you

talk me into this.

It's not right.

And all this strenuous activity

is playing havoc with our

asthma.

[Gasping and panting]

[Spraying medicine]

Whew.

This isn't exactly a garden

spot, you know.

STEVEN: All right, let's get

it over with.

On three.

One, two, three.

[Both grunting]

As the saying goes: Now you

see it, now you don't.

[Wind gusting]

[Ghastly groaning]

[Gasping]

Whoa!

Aren't you going to get it?

The only thing I'm getting is

out of here.

I second that emotion.

You know, this would be a lot

easier if you hadn't melted our

tires.

[Screaming]

[Creature croaking]

[Whimpering]

[Gurgling]

I hate to slay I told you so,

but when you start dumping on

Mother Nature things can get a

little unnatural.

[Laughing]

RICHARD: I can't believe

this.

I'm actually stumped.

I can't think of a single thing.

At this rate, we'll never be

ready for the science fair.

Perhaps we could dissect

something.

Hmm, perhaps.

But just remember that I was the

guinea pig last time.

h*, h*, very funny.

It is to laugh.

[Chuckling]

[Sniffing]

Phew!

Good gravy, what is that

horrible smell?

[Sniffing]

Ugh!

Say, you don't think we got

any of that fetid bog water on

us when we dumped the barrel, do

you?

[Sniffing]

BOTH: Ew!

First for the disinfectant.

Called it, stamped it, no

take-backs.

[Both grunting]

Richard, look.

My hat.

How fortuitous.

But what's it doing here?

I distinctly remember seeing

it sink into the bog.

Well, from a scientific

standpoint, there are a number

of things that might explain

this.

Shh.

Did you hear that?

Smell this, hear that;

what's gotten into you, Steven?

Ugh.

What in the world is...

that?

[Roaring]

[Both screaming]

[Both screaming]

[Roaring]

[Grunting]

[Gasping]

Steven.

[Roaring]

Steven.

[Both panting]

BOTH: Asthma alert.

[Creature roaring]

Ah!

What is that thing?

And why is it wearing my hat?

There has to be an illogical

explanation.

Hold on.

You don't suppose...

BOTH: The bog!

STEVEN: The chemicals we

dumped.

Good gravy, those pollutants

must have caused some sort of

biochemical reaction.

BOTH: And we created that

thing!

We have to hide before that

thing catches us and exacts its

greasy vengeance upon us.

[Both gasping]

Oops, hold on.

Shoes off in the house.

Mother's rules.

Oh, for heaven's sake.

BOTH: Huh?

Ah!

[Groaning]

[Both screaming]

Uh, Richard?

[Gasping]

Oh, brother of mine?

It's occupied.

Richard, I'd like to come in.

I'd like to come in right now.

[Gasping]

[Roaring]

Please open the door.

Richard, the door.

Open the door!

What took you so long?

RICHARD: I don't think that's

any of your business.

Think, Steven, think.

How are we going to deal with

this misfit of science?

Wait one nanosecond.

This creature didn't just come

to being by mere chance.

Of course not.

We created it.

Exactly.

So call me totally off my

trolley, but why can't it be...

Our science fair entry!

First prize-amondo.

But how shall we contain it?

Oh, Mother won't like it.

Yes, but what Mother doesn't

know won't hurt us.

[Both laughing]

[Creature roaring]

[Whirring]

[Thumping and rattling]

Whoa!

Ah!

[Whirring stops]

Steven, I think we just

canned ourselves first place.

[Cat mewling]

BOTH: Huh?

[Both gasping]

[Mewling]

[Both gasping]

Good gravy, where did it go?

It couldn't just vanish,

could it?

[Both gasping]

[Both screaming]

Suffering Socrates.

Run away!

[Both screaming]

[Both panting]

BOTH: Asthma alert.

[Medicine spraying]

STEVEN: Shh, we can't let it

know where we are.

RICHARD: Check.

I'll douse the light.

But what if it can track our

scent, like a bloodhound?

STEVEN: Oh, come on.

When something stinks that

badly, how can it smell

anything?

RICHARD: This is all your

fault, you know.

STEVEN: My fault?

Did I say, "Let's go make a"

blob"?

Did I say our science fair

worries will vanish once we're

nestled safely inside his

digestive tract?

[Creature's stomach gurgling]

Oh, perfect.

Now that nervous stomach of

yours is going to give us away.

RICHARD: My stomach is fine.

Steven, get the lights, will

you?

[Both screaming]

[Creature roaring]

[Creature groaning]

Get spook.

Get spook.

Steven, what are you doing?

Stop that.

You're a man of science.

Based on the events up to

now, I don't know what I believe

in anymore.

Don't say that.

Get a grip.

We can't lose our heads.

Or our arms or our legs or

our plump, boyish midsections.

Shh.

Is it out there?

No.

No sign of the bounder.

What are we going to do,

Richard?

It's quiet.

Too quiet.

For some reason I find myself

reminded of those ridiculous

low-budget horror films.

You mean the ones where the

hollow-headed teenagers lounge

around, waiting for the monster

to swallow them whole?

Instead of showing a clean

pair of heels and making a quick

getaway.

Yes.

Now why would you think of

that at a time like this?

[Creature farting]

[Both screaming]

[Roaring]

BOTH: Suffering Socrates!

[Creature screaming]

[Roaring]

[Farting]

I really fail to see how

peppering it with overripe fruit

will do anything but make it

angry.

[Roaring]

Last one.

Wish me luck.

Good luck.

[Gasping]

[Garbage disposal whirring]

[Screaming]

Excellent shot.

Is that what you were aiming at?

Actually, I was aiming at

him.

But this is good too.

[Groaning]

Even though I pulled an ab.

[Whirring stops]

[Drain gurgling]

You didn't want that, did

you?

It was never one of my

favourites.

[Both screaming]

Mother is going to k*ll us.

Better her than it.

True, and I don't think it

will be bothering us anymore.

I'll get the disinfectant.

You get the mop.

[Sucking sound]

BOTH: Huh?

What fresh heck is this?

[Both screaming]

[Creature roaring]

Why does it stalk us so

relentlessly?

I don't know.

STEVEN: I don't think I can

take much more of this.

[Creature roaring]

[Kids screaming]

Look, it's there.

And there.

They're everywhere.

It's everywhere.

We're surrounded!

Something tells me this is

the last time this is going to

happen.

[Bodies crashing]

We're trapped.

Doom to perish inside the belly

of that beast in a sort of slow,

lazy demise.

Steady, Steven.

Get a grip, man.

We can't press the panic button

yet.

There has to be a way out of

this.

All right, press away.

[Both screaming]

[Panting]

I'm out.

Me too.

[Farting]

[Laughing]

[Both laughing]

[Both screaming]

[Bodies crashing]

[Both gasping]

Our contaminant's still in

the barrel.

That means...

[Farting]

We didn't make him.

He was already there.

The bog is his home.

So that's why you were after

us.

You didn't want us dumping

our toxic cast-offs where you

live.

You're right.

Instead of polluting that bog,

we should have disposed of those

chemicals in the proper way.

[Groaning]

[Creature screaming]

Um, goodbye.

Thanks for not k*lling us.

[Both panting]

Strength, brother.

Just a bit more.

Almost there.

[Medicine spraying]

Whew, we did it.

Success.

Three cheers for us.

We hate to just dump and run,

my good man, but we have a lot

to do today.

Our "effects of pollution"

project may not sweep the

science fair, but hopefully it

will serve the cause.

Not so fast, boys.

I'm afraid this depot is full.

Full, you say?

I'm afraid so.

You'll have to take it to the

other hazardous waste site.

The other site?

And where might that be?

Oh, not far.

About 10 or 12 miles down that

road.

[Chuckling]

BOTH: Ten or 12 miles.

Oh...

[Both panting]

I certainly wish more young

people were as environmentally

conscious as those two.

I guess my good fiend Blob

spooked them more than just a

litter bit.

As the saying goes: Waste not

haunt not.

[Laughing]

Mmm.

[Slurping]

My favourite.

Lemon slime.

That's all for now, boils and

ghouls.

But remember, creep out of

trouble, because I'll be

watching.

[Laughing]
