04x10 - It's My Party

Post by bunniefuu »

-Today's show is
about a special day.
-Howie!

Howie!

Howie!

Howie!

Howie!

Did you get my letter?

-No, I-- I didn't
get your letter.
-That's because I
forgot to stamp it!
-Ow.

Ow.

-Am I in trouble?

[THEME MUSIC]

[CHEERING]

-Bobby.

Bobby!

Bobby, hun!

It's time to get up.

Now, don't tell me you've
forgotten what today is.
Oh, land of living.

Wake up and dress right.

We're gonna have so much
fun, don't cha know?
-We are?

Wait a minute.

I think I just remembered
what day it is.
Yippee!

I'm right!

It's fort day!

It finally came!

Just like dad said it would.

I remember how it all started.

It was on a cold and stormy day.

-Yeah, OK Howard.

Now, Aunt Ruth's
birthday is on the 9th.
-Mhmm.

-Our anniversary is the
third of next month, yeah.
-I'm tired of snow, mom.

Make it stop.

-Oh, isn't he the cutest?

You know, Bobby, I
wish I could, hun,
but that's not in the mothers'
manual, don't cha know?
-I can't go out.

I can't have fun.

Can't do nothing, 'cept color.

-Oh, don't fret, Bobby.

Spring is just around
the gee golly corner.
-It is?

Which corner, mom?

-Well, not literally, Bobby.

-Who's Luelerly?

-Oh, Howard, help me
out here, now then, yet.
-Uh, Bobby, I know.

Why-- Why don't
you design a fort?
-A fort?

But where will we build it?

-In-- In the
backyard, Bobby, just
as soon as the
weather clears up.
Here, OK?

We'll do it on the 25th.

The rain will be gone by then,
and that will be our fort day.
-Well done, Howard.

-Yippee!

Yippee!

We're gonna build
a fort just for me!
Yippee!

Today's fort day!

It's gonna be the biggest,
bestest fort ever.
[BANGING]

KELLY: Bobby!

-With a moat and a tower.

[BANGING]

KELLY: Would you let me in?

-And dad's gonna help me, and
mom's gonna help me, and--
-Bobby!

-Kelly!

I was here first.

-No, no.

I can not have a zit.

Not today.

-Sure you can, Kelly.

It's right there.

How can you miss it?

-Mom!

-A perfect start
to a perfect day.
-All right.

Gotta put out the tables
and pick up the cake, OK.
Get the balloons.

BOBBY: [SINGING]
Happy fort day to me!
Happy fort day to me!

It's fort day, mommy.

-Oh, yeah, terrific, yeah.

Mow the lawn.

Hand up those lanterns.

-Can we start right
after breakfast, huh?
Can we?

-Oh, yeah.

Yeah, sure.

That's just what we're gonna do.

Now, then, yet, where are
those gee golly lanterns?
-Mom!

Don't worry, Webbley.

I'll get us some breakfast.

There must be something
up there that we can eat.
Hey!

You've got my breakfast!

Don't worry, Webbley and Teddy.

I'm not gonna let that
big ape get our food.
Take the controls, Webbley.

I'm getting breakfast.

Help!

-Gotcha!

-Uncle Ted!

What are you doing here?

-Well, your mom called and
said she needed my help.
Today's a big day, Bobbo.

-Yeah, Uncle Ted.

The biggest!

-You bet, Bobbo.

I wouldn't miss this
day for the world.
MARTHA: Ted?

Is that you?

-No, darlin'.

It's me.

It's me, Elvis.

Thank you.

Thank you very much.

Thank you.

-Oh, for crying out tears, Ted.

Now stop your shenanigans.

We've got work to do.

-Yippee!

It's my fort day, yes it is!

Yes it is!

Yes it is!

It's my fort day, yes it is!

-Oh, Martha?

-Here's Aunt Ruthie.

-Howard?

-Aunt Ruth!

Did you come to help, too?

-Well, I certainly did.

Now, isn't it exciting?

Come here, let me
pinch those cheeks.
-Here they are.

What am I doing?

[GRUMBLING]

-Aunt Ruth, Mom says to
come in the living room.
We're having a family meeting.

-Yippee, a meeting!

We're gonna get started!

-What a dork.

He's acting like the party's
for him, and not for Kelly.
-OK, Howard.

Now, you got your items here.

You got your lawn,
you got your lanterns.
-But forts don't
have lawns, Mom.
-Ah, hold on here now, hun.

Ted, you help Howard
set up the tables.
-Aw, do I have to?

I'm just kiddin'.

Sure, sis.

-But Mom--

-Later, hun.

-Kelly, now, you finish
sewing the dress.
And Ruthie, can you help
me with the cooking?
-Oh, yes, well of-- certainly.

Love to.

Now, how does lentil
pudding sound?
-Ugh.

-Oh, put a sock in it
there now, Kelly furball.
OK, now, Derek,
you'll do streamers.
-But Mom!

A fort's supposed to have flags.

-Yeah, that's nice, Bobby.

Derek, you can set up
the chairs, and then--
-Aw, Mom.

How come I gotta
do all this stuff?
It's not my stupid party.

-Sharing is caring, and doing
for others is its own reward.
I learned that in school.

-Whoops, whoops, here we go.

Now, as you know, today
is a very important day.
It's not every day our
Kellster turns 16, you know.
-Huh?

What does that have
to do with fort day?
-Yeah.

So, we'll all need
to pitch in to make
Kelly's birthday
party a big success.
-Kelly's birthday party?

But Kelly already had
her birthday on Tuesday.
Todays' fort day.

-Like, what's a fort day?

-Remember, Dad?

You promised.

-I'm sorry, Bobby, but you know,
when we wrote this day down,
I didn't know it was
going to be the same day
as Kelly's sweet 16.

I'm afraid fort day's just
going to have to wait, son.
-It was my day, first.

It's no fair!

It's no fair!

-It was my day first.

It's no fair.

It's no fair!

-You know, Bobby, you
are exactly right.
It is not fair.

But for corn sakes,
you know, it wouldn't
be fair to spoil Kelly's sweet
16 party either, you know?
So, why don't we have fort
day next Saturday, and--
-No!

I wanna have my gee golly fort
day today, don't cha know?
-Oh, come on.

-I'm gonna get soap.

MARTHA: You're
mocking your mother.
-If Bobby spoils my party,
like, I will totally die.
-Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa.

Hold your horses, Kelly.

Bobby's not going to
be an old grumpy puss.
He's going to pitch
right in there and help.
Isn't that right, Bobby man?

-No!

I don't care about
Kelly's silly old party.
I want my fort!

-OK, Mr. Selfish pants,
if you don't want to help,
then go play by yourself
and stay out of the way.
-I will.

I'll stay so far out of the
way, you'll never find me!
-Lookin' good, gals.

-I think we ought to
put it right here,
is what we should do.

-Sounds good.
-Could you make up your mind?
-OK.

Now, to the left.

-Yeah?

-Yes.

-No.

No, no, no, no.

A little more to the right.

-This right?

-OK, now.

A little higher.

No, no, no!

-Look, Webbley.

That would make a great fort.

-Hi, Bobby.

What are you doing up here?

How come you're not
helping with the party?
-Cause today was supposed
to be fort day, not
some dumb party day.

-It's not just a party, Bobby.

My mother says it's a ritual.

A rite of passage.

A stepping stone to womanhood.

-What does that mean?

-I'm not sure.

All I know is that
your mom told my mom
that this party means
Kelly's turning sweet 16.
-Sweet 16?

-Mm-hm.

-Kelly's gonna be
sweet from now on?
-Bobby, you are, like, such
a perfect little brother.
All I want if for you
to be, like, way happy.
Forget my party.

Let's make today fort day.

-This is gonna be great!

-Well, I gotta go.

See ya later, Bobby.

-Yuck!

-You're so cute when
you're angry, Bobby.
-OK.

Soon as Kelly turns sweet,
we'll start the fort.
We're gonna put the
moat over here, and--
MARTHA: Bobby!

-Maybe Mom's coming to tell us
Kelly already changed her mind,
and it's time to start fort day!

What, Mom?

-Yeah.

We're going to the
store to get some more
balloons for Kelly's party.

Wanna come?

-Bobby's not here!

-Oh, yeah.

Bingo.

Well, if you see him, tell
him Uncle Ted's in the house
if he needs anything.

-Who needs them?

I'll build a fort myself.

Hm.

There's lots of
stuff here I can use.
[HUMMING]

-Nobody will miss this.

Now I'll do the moat.

[SCREAM]

[SCREAM]

-No!

My dress!

It's ruined!

[SCREAM]

-Gadzooks!

Am I in trouble?

Gadzooks!

Am I in trouble?

-Bobby!

Like, I don't-- how
could you do this to me?
-I didn't--

-You're in big trouble
with me, mister.
[SCREAM]

-Oops.

-This was Kelly's
day, jerk face!
And you ruined it!

-Where is that gee
darn Uncle Ted?
He was supposed to be
in charge here, now.
[HUMMING]

-Ted!

Ted!

How did this happen?

-What?

What?

How did what happen?

-How I try, and what do I get?

-Now, easy, now, sis.

Come on.

Easy.

-I know you didn't mean to
ruin your sister's party,
but don't you have something
to say to her, Bobby?
-Yes, dad.

Kelly.

-Like, what, Bobby?

-This is all It was supposed
to be my special day
and you ruined it!

HOWARD: Bobby Generic.

Now, you-- g-- Go to your room
and don't come until you're 12!
-I guess that's not what
he wanted me to say.
Not fair.

It was my day first, and-- her
birthday, sweet 16, [MUMBLING],
Kelly.

[SOBBING]

I'm sorry, Kelly!

Don't cry.

Everything's gonna be OK.

I'll fix it!

You'll see!

Don't worry, fair Kelly!

Sir Bobby will save the day!

I claim this land in
the name of Lady Kelly,
and I proclaim this Kelly Day.

Come one, come all!

Come on, mom!

Dad!

Kelly!

-Bobby, are you OK?

-Pretty neat, huh?

I fixed it all up.

-Like, what is this,
some kinda joke?
-No, Kelly.

It-- It's your party.

Y--You can cry if you want to.

See?

There's-- There's a beautiful
carpet on the ground,
and a queen stool for Kelly.

And I-- And I fixed
the cake, and I
fixed the lights, and
the-- and the music,
and-- and the flowers.

See, Kelly?

See?

-Well, I-- I do, Bobby.

Like, I really do.

-Did it for you, Kelly.

Happy birthday.

-Like, thanks Bobby.

-Uh, hey, uh, you
know, sis, maybe I
can fix up those lights.

Get them blinking, you know?

-You know, and-- and I bet if
we threw some hay on the mud--
-Count me in.

-And I could whip up
my savory sage souffle!
-Why don't we order in.

-Don't go to the trouble.

It's really, uh-- We'll order.

-Hey, hey, well then, comrades,
what are we waiting for?
[CHEERING]

-Pretty swell, aren't they?

KELLY: Come on, Bobby.

-Here I come.

-Woo!

-Hey!

Oh yeah?

I'll sling a little mud.

Here you go!

-Oh, hey, oh, I see
how you're gonna play.
All right OK.

There's mud in my eye.

-Hey, Kelly.

It's me, George!

-Oh no.

Like, we're not finished yet.

-Don't worry, Kelly.

We're finished.

Look!

-Oh, Kelly!

Happy birthday!

-Bobby.

You have ruined my life.

I can never show my face again.

-I'm sorry, Kelly.

GEORGE: Oh, wow.

I cannot believe this.

A grunge sweet 16.

Now, this is cool.

-You, like, like it?

-Like it?

Kelly, I mean, this is-- Yeah.

And like, I thought
for sure this was gonna
be one of those pink foo
foo foo bummer parties.
-Oh, Bobby.

I will never forget this.

If there is anything you want.

-Can I go to the movies
with you and George?
-Ugh.

Like, I'd rather die.

-I guess she forgot.

-I'm hot.

I'm funky.

They call me MC Uncy.

-Rock and roll forever.

Awesome!

-Today the 16!

Wow!

Retro!

The '60s, man!

Keep on truckin'!

One more time!

That was a good show.

I hate when that happens.

-When-- When what happens?

Well, you think it's
your special day
and then it's somebody
else's special day,
and you make a mess, and then--
and then-- and then a spaceship
lands, and then a monster
comes out and chases you.
And you run really fast into
a tree, and it comes to life,
and it won't stop
dancing with you.
And then--

-All that didn't happen.

-I know, but I'd
hate it if it did.
