Very good, Josephine - you may now join the others
in Art Class.
Today, Mrs. Brinks could probably win the 'Worst
Teacher in the World Award' on account of today she is
making everyone write out all their times tables
before they can go to Art Class.
But because I have been studying math with my best
friend Gina Lash--smartest in the class,
this is a problem that is not a problem for me.
Yes, I'm done!
Hey Josephine, wait up!
Yes! Huh?
What are you looking at, Angela Anaconda?
Nothing.
Nothing but a Ninnie-pooh who is finally being worse
at something I am better at!
Gee, Angela, sorry you didn't get much time to work
on your mask in art class.
Yeah - but that's a really terrific nose.
I'm not worried about finishing my mask Gordy,
on account of at least I finished my times tables
before there wasn't even any art class left!
I'm not worried either because math is only
important to people who have to count their pennies
every day just to buy milk.
[LAUGHING]
Class, it is my solemn duty as your beloved teacher
to announce that in two days, the government mandated
multiplication test shall be given.
[GROAN]
Excusez-moi, Mrs. Brinks, but wouldn't two weeks be better
-- for those, unlike myself,
who may need more time to prepare?
Why, Nanette, isn't it just like you to always be
thinking of others -- so typical of the upper classes.
But unfortunately, the date cannot be moved, dear.
School regulations.
Sorry, Ninnie-Poo.
I don't understand it!
Angela Anaconda simply cannot be smarter than me
in anything!
How did she possibly finish those times tables
before I did?
Wait, what's this?
Ah-ha!
So that's her secret!
Three times four is twelve -- I already know all of
these times ten, Gina Lash!
Maybe so, Angela, but repetition is the key
to memorization!
Remember, numbers are our friends,
once you get to know them.
But I beat Nanette Manure in the quiz today and I've
already missed a week's worth of television
and tetherball.
If numbers are my friends, I think they'd want me to have
some fun.
But times tables are fun.
I know, let's try using fruit instead of flashcards!
How about we try using Jiggly-fruit?
I think I hear one calling my name.
Bonjour, Gina Lash.
How would you like it if you could have all the cinnamon
swirls you can eat for free?!
Free cinnamon swirls?
What's the catch?
All you have to do to earn my bountiful generosity is
tutor me in mathematiques.
Well, Nanette -- I must admit your offer sounds
delicious, but my allegiance is to my best friend,
Angela Anaconda, who needs my tutoring services as well.
Hold on, Gina Lash, let me get this straight --
Nanette wants to give you cinnamon swirls for showing her
flash cards over and over again during every recess
and after school?
That is uncharacteristically correct, Angela.
I believe people deserve to be paid for their work,
unlike some people!
Yeah, and with cinnamon swirls too.
Sounds like an opportunity too good to pass up,
Gina Lash.
Well, okay then, as long as it's okay with Angela,
we'll start right after lunch.
And don't forget the cinnamon swirls!
Okay, Nanette - try this one.
Five times seven.
What do you think?
I don't know.
You're my tutor, Gina Lash - aren't you supposed to just
give me the answers?
Actually, Nanette -- no.
I'm supposed to help you figure out the answers
for yourself.
You mean I'm paying you and I'm supposed
to do the work, too?
Oh, alright.
Whoooo-hoo!
Nice shot, Angela!
Now this is more like it!
Playing tetherball, and having fun - and not having
to think about mathematics!
But Angela, what if you forget your multiplication
tables and Nanette learns them?
Never happen, Gordorino.
It took me a whole week to learn,
and Ninnie's only got two days!
And besides, I've got it all up here.
[GRUNT]
All right, class - in preparation for the upcoming
test, we're going to start today off with a review
of our nines tables.
Now, can anyone tell me what nine times five is?
Sixty-two!
I think not, Miss Anaconda!
Uh, Nanette?
I believe the answer you're looking for is fifty-four!
Oh, very close, Nanette.
The answer is forty-five, but fifty-four is the answer
to nine times six - which was going to be my
next question! Congratulations!
Why thank you, Mrs. Brinks.
I'm certain I'll be fully prepared by tomorrow's test.
Well, class - seeing as how some of you have shown such
heroic improvement, I have decided that all of your
past math quizzes will not count one smidgen!
Instead, I will base your entire math grade on the
results of this one test.
What a wonderful idea, Mrs. Brinks!
Thank you, Nanette.
It's just my way of rewarding those of you who do well.
As for those of you who don't, you will be sentenced to

Uh-oh.
Hey Gina, don't forget - you're supposed to come over
for dinner tonight.
We're having your favourite: Hamhocks Hawaiian!
Hamhocks Hawaiian?!
And you know what?
You can bring your flashcards!
Gosh, Angela, I'd love to, but -
Hello Gina Lash.
I'll be expecting you at three-thirty sharp.
And I've arranged a working dinner.
I have a feeling we'll be going late.
Oh, well, I um.
Remember - those six cinnamon swirls you ate this
morning were non-negotiable!
Sorry Angela - but I'll come over as soon as I'm finished
with Nanette.
Yes - I'm sure you will.
Now let's see, six cinnamon swirls,
that's six times one, three times two,
two times three, and one times six.
Gee, uh Nanette, I should really get going.
