- Ice Station Earth, this is Scorpion.

Speed: light-seconds.

All systems green.

- Excellent, Doctor Reynolds.

Octon, commence attack on Dr. Reynolds.

Very good, Doctor.

- Well, Emperor Ming,

isn't my invention, the Scorpion,

everything I said it would be.

- Mildly impressive.

Octon, what are your computations?

- The potential is extraordinary.

However these preliminary trials produce

insufficient data.

- What more do you want?

- I must see the Scorpion

pushed to the limits of its capacity.

Octon, reconfigure the Scorpion

for full attack mode.

Your ship awaits you, Doctor.

- I can't fly the Scorpion at full power.

No one can.

- Then you refuse to fly the Scorpion?

- I am just the inventor.

I am looking for my profit, not my destruction.

- Garax!

- Do not threaten me.

The secret to the Scorpion is in here, Ming.

In here, for me alone.

- But not for long.

Garax, take him to the Inquisitor.

- No! No, you can't!

- My computations show

there is only one man alive

who can pilot the Scorpion,

Flash Gordon!

- Thank you, Octon.

Perhaps I should send a personal invitation

to Flash Gordon to join us.

Yes, yes!

I shall do exactly that.

- Now the great Kshin will display

his newest creation!

- I give you, The Snooper!

- Kshin, does it do anything

or does it just sit there

and wiggle those thingamabobs?

- Those thingamabobs are antennae, Mandrake.

- But what does it do?

- I designed the Snooper

to detect any alien presences

anywhere in Monitor.

- A very useful invention indeed.

- Known entities-- that means you guys--

make the snooper flash green.

That means, it's okay.

Unknown entities-- meaning the bad guys--

make it flash red.

- Let's see the Snooper do its thing.

- Aha!

- It's only because it's new.

I don't know what happened,

it was working fine this morning.

[laughter]

- Kshin, I think you need a little assistance.

[laughter]

- Oh, well.

I guess it's back to the old drawing board.

- I don't understand.

Kshin's snooper worked fine this morning.

I saw it myself.

I know,

I'll run it through my new debug program.

- Why don't you let it sit for awhile?
[ … ]

Come out flying with me.

- Maybe later, Dad.

- Sure, son.

- What a great day for a little sightseeing.

[whooshing]

- Coming at you, Dad.

- Rick, what're you doing up here?

- Thought we'd have a little fun.

How'd you like that one, Dad?

- Great! Now try this!

[whooshing]

[whooshing continues]

- Not too shabby!

You game for one more, Dad?

- Go for it!

- Power dive!

- Cut your power!

- I can't! The controls are frozen!

- Are you all right, son?

- Sure, Dad.

- Welcome, Flash Gordon.

Do you like my new toys?

- Looks like you put them together backwards.

Doesn't Tab A go into slot A?

- The famous Gordon sense of humor.

- I'm losing it fast, Ming.

What's this all about?

- You are going to train my pilots

to fly my new fighter ships.

- You must be kidding, Ming!

- Kidding?

No, Flash Gordon.

When Octon and the Inquisitor are through with you,

my pilots will know everything you know about flying.

Now, meet the pilots

you will be training

to attack Central City.

- It will never work, Ming!

Never!

- There!

I've locked onto Dad's rescue beacon.

Dynac, hone in!

- Coordinates indicate signal emanating

from Ice Station Earth.

- Ming's got Dad!

- But not for long, Rick.

- We're on our way, Dad.

- The Inquisitor awaits you.

Garax, prepare him.

- [straining]

- Your struggles are futile, Gordon.

Such bravery!

I am so glad from now on

you shall be working for me.

- It'll never work, Ming, trust me.

- Octon, show him.

Four clones,

identical to you in every way.

Octon will interface with the Inquisitor

to implant your flying skills in these clones.

- The Defenders will never buy it, Ming!

- Activate the Inquisitor!

[machine whirring]

- Flash Gordon's personality

has been transferred to all four clones, Sire!

- Excellent!

Excellent!

- Rick Gordon to Monitor, any new info on Dad?

- Rick, this is L.J.

Sorry, nothing new.

You should be coming up

on the world's biggest ice cube any second now.

- Got it on visual.

- Mister Gordon?

Mister Gordon, are you all right?

Mister Gordon, answer me, please!

- Who?

What?

- Thank heaven you're all right.

- Who are you?

- I am Doctor Reynolds.

You were under the Inquisitor.

Ming put you there just as he did me.

- Oh, my head.

It feels like it's about to fall off.

- Oh, it's all my fault!

I'm sorry, Mister Gordon.

I am responsible for all this.

- What are you talking about, doc?

- You see, I designed the Scorpion.

It is a marvelous machine, really, it is.

But nobody would let me build it,

except Ming.

- Ming? - Yes.

I don't care really who buys my creation,

what matters is that they pay for it.

- What matters now is how we get out of here.

- Ming will see you now!

- I'm busy with my friend.

Doc, don't forget what we were saying.
[ … ]

- Mister Gordon,

may I present your brothers.

- Mom liked me best.

- Stand at attention

when addressing a fellow officer!

- I don't have to. I outrank you.

- I got this whole operation down pat.

You see, when I drop down out of the stratosphere on Monitor,

I figure keep real low,

keep her almost at zero altitude,

going way under the detection umbrella.

They'll never see me.

Then I'll pop up, ka-pow!

- Close, fella, but no banana.

If you tied this clown's hands behind his back,

he couldn't talk!

Well, what's your rap?

- I am still evaluating the situation.

At the proper moment,

I shall reveal my brilliant tactical plan.

- You just keep thinking, friend.

- Hey, fella,

you're not a bad looking dude.

- What? In this old thing?

- When this thing wraps, big guy,

let's me and you hit some hot spots,

you know, do a little cruising.

- The only thing you're cruising for is a bruising.

- Enjoying yourself, Ming?

Now, would you mind I get back to my nice, cold cell?

Garax, take me away.

- Octon! - Yes, Sire.

- How can I be sure each clone

possesses the flying ability of the real Flash Gordon?

- Sire, each clone has been thoroughly tested

and has the same fighter pilot abilities

as the real Flash Gordon.

- Excellent!

- This way.

- Ice Robots.

I'll handle them.

By Jungle Law,

the ghost who walks

calls forth the power of ten tigers!

[roars]

Now you see me,

now you don't!

- There is only one way to deal with a bully.

Shall we proceed?

- What's going on?

- Rescue is on the way.

- Hi, big guy. I'm your stand-in.

- We also need what you call a prop

to set the scene.

The rescue beacon

you so cleverly used to hail your friends.

Garax, take him away and Dr. Reynolds too.

- It'll never work, Ming!

- I'm in here, guys!

You have no idea how up I am to see you people.

- Let's go.

- That cheap copy won't fool my friends for long!

- They do not have long.

I took the precaution of planting a b*mb

inside your brother clone.

When I pull this lever,

the Defenders will have only minutes to live.

Now to keep them occupied

launch the attack.

- Welcome home, Dad!

- Thanks, son.

I've had a hard road to hoe.

There's no space like home, you know.

Hey, Zuffy, Come here, big guy.

Oh, what's got his sheep?

- [yelping]

- Perhaps it is the scent

of Ming's dungeons on your clothes.

- How about lunch?

- I could handle a millimeter-thick steak,

some rare mushrooms, and a peanut butter sandwich.

- Are you okay, Dad?

- Attention!

Three ships inbound toward Central City.

Point of origin:

Ice Station Earth.

Estimation of intentions: hostile.

- Doc, what's that supposed to do?

- Observe.

- Come on, Doc!

We've got a ship to steal back.

- Pardon,

but I need a power source for my double helix.

- You are in a restricted area.

- Oh, oh, very well.

Here, hold this for a moment.

You didn't even give me a chance

to see if it would work again.

- Very well, Flash Gordon.

You might have won this hand
[ … ]

but to win the game,

you must defeat yourself

four times!

- Dynac, what are these ships?

- Preliminary analysis of unknown ships

suggests performance

well beyond anything seen before.

- Hey, guys!

I hate to spoil your party,

but a real pilot watches his tail.

Later, hot shot.

One down.

Oh, did I upset you?

I'm still here, Prof.

What's your tactical plan now?

- At a lower altitude, in heavier air,

my Scorpion can easily outmaneuver

your archaic ship.

- Ask a question, get an answer.

I'm pulling out.

You keep thinking, friend.

That's what you were good at.

- Wanna play hot dog?

- How come you didn't tell me about that, Doc?

- I thought you had enough problems...

and besides,

I'm scared.

- Thanks.

- Got all systems locked on you, turkey.

- That's not fair! You've got me outgunned.

- Like we both always say, what's fair about a dogfight?

- That clone is the best of me,

I mean them!

- The old wounded bird bit, huh.

You've got nothing better than that for me?

- Too bad, if I don't say so myself.

Who's gonna break first?

- Not me, brother!

- Let's do it.

- Now, Doc, let's go take care of that jerk

with the b*mb in his chest who wants to go cruising.

- Sire,

Flash Gordon has destroyed all

but one of the clones.

- Octon, activate the b*mb!

- The three hostile ships have been destroyed.

Reports indicate

they were eliminated by our Swordship.

- But we're all here!

Who took them out?

- I did!

- Dad!

Dad?

Neither of you move until we straighten this out!

- We'd better straighten it out quick!

Ming has planted a b*mb, and it's in him!

- I don't know what you're trying to pull, fella,

but it's not going to work.

- There is a b*mb in this room.

It is set to detonate in seconds.

, , ...

- Son, I'm your real father.

Ask me anything! I'll prove it!

- Rick, we don't have time for that.

The b*mb is ticking--

believe me or sh**t us both!

- He's right, Rick!

sh**t us both!

- , , ,

, , ,

, , .

b*mb defused.

- I got to tell you guys,

I've had a couple of interesting days.

- Been feeling beside yourself, old friend?

- Oh, look out!

- See?

I told you I'd fix it.
