even though you three cannot be nominated for eviction,

there is no guarantee

you won't be the first HouseGuest going home.

-At the nomination ceremony...

-I have nominated you, Terrance, and you, Michael.

-Head of Household Daniel put up a pawn next to his target.

-Michael's my target because he's a super fan,

and there's only room for one super fan in this house.

-The power of veto was up for grabs at Ren Fest,

and Michael went medieval on the competition.

-Michael, you win the Golden Power of Veto!

[ Cheers and applause ]

-Paloma told Taylor that she was worried about the guys.

And Taylor gave Monte the heads up.

-She's terrified that you four boys

together are coming for the girls.

-Damn.

I'm not really sure if I believe it,

but it's something I definitely want to look into.

-So Monte took the information back to Paloma...

-She's like, "Oh, just to let you know,

Paloma -- she's really going for, like,

the big dogs in the house, like, she wants the alpha male.

-That's a big lie.

-...which ignited her quest to get Taylor on the block.

-If she is going to try and ruin my game,

that's not gonna fly with me.

-Like, I think we need to get her out.

-And after a game of telephone reached Daniel...

-Everybody in the house completely agrees.

She should go up, get evicted, unanimous vote.

-...he put Taylor on the block.

-The replacement nominee is Taylor.

It has come to my attention that you have been rubbing the house

the wrong way a little bit.

You're in the position now where you can rally for votes

and maybe even apologize

for some things you've said in this house.

-Tonight, the HouseGuests have been in the BB Motel

for nine days.

Emotions are high, and a shocking announcement

changes the course of the game.

Plus, the battle for power begins again.

-Good evening. I'm Julie Chen Moonves.

Welcome to "Big Brother".

The Backstage Twist that has been playing out all week

was supposed to culminate tonight live.

But an unexpected turn of events has now changed everything.

I will tell you and the HouseGuests more

a little later in the show.

But first, Taylor may have been shocked to be nominated,

but it was Daniel's reason that was the true blindside.

-This veto meeting is adjourned.

♪♪

-People in this house felt like they weren't connecting with me.

And, like, I get that. I'm a tough cookie to crack.

[ Voice breaking ] But the final piece.

♪♪

To be told that you are making people feel unwelcome...

I never want to be that person.

And that hurts more than being put on a block.

Harder to hear that I've said things to hurt people.

-Oh, no.

-Once Taylor threw Paloma's name under the bus,

it really sealed the deal for me.

Taylor's definitely my target, and I do hope she goes home.

But with this Backstage Twist still in play,

all of this could blow up in my face.

-I'm still on a block. It doesn't feel great.

And now I'm up against Taylor.

I personally like Taylor,

but from the sound of that speech,

doesn't seem like she's in the good graces of the house.

And that's great for me and my game.

-I just feel so bad.

Taylor Being the replacement nominee is obviously

what I wanted to happen,

but seeing her go through this honestly breaks my heart.

But as bad as I feel for Taylor, the plan is the plan.

We have to be committed and face the reality

that she is on the block now.

I can't vote, but I can still use my small but mighty voice

to have influence in this game

to ultimately ensure that Taylor goes home this week.

-That was hard to hear. -[ Crying ] I know, I know.

I can't even imagine. Come sit with me, please.

It breaks my heart.

I, like, wanted to, like, stop this game

and be like, "We're all winners."

Like, I wish I could do that.

I really like this girl, but I don't really know

if she does have my best interests at heart.

-Before I even try to start getting votes this week,

I need to get to the bottom of who it is that I hurt.

So I need to have conversations with as many people as possible.

I know I'm slow to open up, so that I felt.

But it was the piece when he said

that I've been rubbing people the wrong way.

-Did you tell Monte that Paloma was gunning for them?

-No.

-Did you talk to Paloma?

-Yeah, she's terrified that you four boys...

-Damn. -I was like, "Talk to Paloma

specifically and make sure she knows..."

-Okay. -"...that you all are not

gunning for them.

-It's funny how, like, you say something one way,

and it's perceived a complete different way,

and it happens all the time.

I don't know.

I wish you would have came over to us sooner.

-The fact that Ameerah knows just a little bit about this,

and not even the correct version,

makes me feel like this is a lot bigger deal

than I thought it was.

So I need to talk to Monte.

-So what's up? -Ah, well, you know,

when you hear, like, you've hurt people

or you've rubbed people the wrong way,

that's hard to hear. -Mm-hmm.

-If it was you that I hurt, I would appreciate

I think what really happened was

that first conversation that I think we had,

I was just, like, a little bit confused by that,

to be honest, because I saw it as like,

it was the first time that we're talking game

and, you know, you're mixing Paloma's name

with wanting to target, you know, the males in the house

or whatever have you. -Okay.

-That's what I heard. -Got it.

I think I just wasn't clear enough.

-Yeah, yeah.

-What I was trying to communicate was,

hey, talk to Paloma and reassure her that the guys are not

coming after the girls in this big alliance.

-I'm sorry. Like, I just --

you know, things happened very quickly.

I did not expect that once I told Paloma that,

you know, it would turn into, like,

a whole firecracker show, so --

and I'm sorry that, like, it's led to this, you know?

No, and I appreciate you, you know,

clarifying, like, what your intentions were.

Even if Taylor got things right and is being truthful,

I built up a pretty strong relationship with Paloma,

and I don't really have that same level

of a relationship with Taylor.

So I plan on moving forward with Paloma.

And for Taylor, I think it's too late for her.

It seems like I ended up on the block

because of a wild miscommunication

between me, Monte, and Paloma.

So I know that if I can clear the air with her,

there might be a fighting chance for me

to stay another week in the house.

Clearly, it was not very clear in my move

from what happened between me to Monte, to Monte to you.

-Yes. And whatever it is, honestly,

I don't even give a...

You don't -- My head is so far removed --

-No, but it matters. But it matters.

-Like, I'm telling you, Taylor, right now,

I don't even want to hear it.

And I'd rather go to sleep

than hear you try [chuckles] to explain yourself,

because I'm so tired, and that sounds rude.

Is that rude? Is that -- am I being rude?

-A little rude as...yeah.

-Am I being really rude to you? -Just a little bit.

My entire game is on the line because of a misunderstanding,

and you won't even have the time to hear me out?

the Girls Girls alliance looks to branch out.

-Being backstage, I really like our position that we're in,

I'm just gonna say, but how are you feeling?

-Like, I feel good.

It's just hard to talk game with anybody.

-And I don't want to be the one to where, like,

you know, he's overplaying early

But it's like, you know, that's if we're not doing it --

-I'm telling you, for sure.

-I think we can do this.

But I think we need Kyle.

Even though I have Girls Girls,

and I love having the girls on my side,

I know I'm gonna need some strong male players

going forward.

If this can really come together,

this would be greatfor my game.

And then we get another female.

I think Ameerah knows the game.

She's smart, she's composed, she's to herself.

I came into this game trying to build strong relationships

so that I would get pulled into alliances

as opposed to being the person that starts them.

I don't want to be in the forefront.

I just want to ride that middle ground.

-My thing is, I just want to make sure we're covered

at every direction, you know?

-I really gotta think of, like, the pros and the cons, right?

-I'll give you a little...cheek.

-Michael is very low-key.

-Michael's so sweet.

if these people are actually gonna be loyal to me.

And who knows? Maybe this could be legit.

As a super fan, I'm thinking this twist probably

has something to do with him.

And if he has to pick which of his "backstage" employees

he wants to save,

I want to make sure that I can offer him

something that Alyssa and Paloma can't.

I literally got two hours of sleep.

The original plan tonight

would not have culminated in a vote and eviction,

but instead a battle

between one of the two nominees chosen by the house

and one of the Backstage Pass holders.

The loser of that head-to-head competition

would have gone home immediately.

The Backstage Twist was planned

to send one HouseGuest home tonight.

Since Paloma was one of the five people

in jeopardy of being eliminated

and she is no longer in the game,

that changes everything

that was to transpire tonight.

The Backstage Twist is now over.
