in 90 days, we're gonna
be husband and wife.

people say, you know,

she's just using you,
maybe she could be.

i met asuelu on vacation,

lost my virginity,
and had his baby.

she's beautiful, she's sexy,

but she has 90 days to
get to know my mother.

you know, you're a very
good cook, mom.

she's so eager to be in love,
she lets red flags just go.

if jesus came down
from heaven right now,

and say he cheated on me,
i wouldn't do anything about it.

i'm here in your country.

-finally.
-finally, right?

i am so excited to
finally see asuelu.

oh,.

yeah, hoo! yeah, hoo-hoo!

you're gonna tell me
not to touch my son.

what are you talking about?
what day?

oh...

leida comes from
a wealthy background.

so i'm concerned the life i have
here isn't enough for her.

we're not getting a maid.

he has no idea
who my sister is.

she does not need him.

it's been hard,
and i'm struggling.

are you doing this
because you have his baby?

that b*tch is for
his money, period.

she's taking advantage of you,
and you need to realize.

jay used to run through women,
he's very smooth.

i don't know if i'm ready to

be married for
the rest of my life.

it wouldn't have
happened without a baby.

fernanda can be
a very jealous person.

-who is she?
-she's a friend of mine.

you doing okay,
good on drinks?

-can i get another one?
-sure.

my name is ashley,
i'm 31 years old,

and i'm from mechanicsburg,
pennsylvania.

currently, i'm working
as a bartender.

-here you go.
-thank you.

i'm also a mother of
two small children.

it keeps me very busy.

-thank you.
-you're welcome.

but being a mom is, you know,

one of the greatest
gifts you can have.

good, again. nice, good.

ashley:
whatever free time i have,

i normally go and take
some self defense classes.

again.

ashley: it's very important to
me to be a strong woman.

i kind of have to be,
i'm pretty much on my own.

so i hold a g*n up to you,
what are you gonna do?

give me all your money!
good!

i guess my personality is,

like, i just don't put up
with people's.

and i stab towards your belly.

i've been engaged twice,

i left both times,
'cause i was cheated on,

and i don't put up
with that.

wanna do it again?

after my second
engagement failed,

it all kind of started
to hit me, like,

okay, i've had all these
bad issues with men,

i'm just gonna give myself time.

so, the last couple years,
i've been, you know, on my own.

i've been content,
i wasn't looking

for any kind of relationship.

but they say it happens
when you least expect it,

and it sure did.

i want to jamaica with a group

of friends and family
to a big wedding.

and one night, we decided
to go out to a bar.

and that's where i met jay.

jay came up to me
and started talking to me.

and then, kind of went
our separate ways.

he somehow found
me on social media.

and that's when we
began talking a lot.

jay is definitely
the life of the party,

and he's only 20 years old.

so, he's very young, you know.
he's 11 years younger than i am.

but he's extremely mature.

ooh, boy, you cute, hey.

in my past, i've been attracted

to the very clean cut,
white boy,

kind of guys.

jay's extremely different.

oh!

six months after
we began talking,

i went back over to jamaica.

there was just
something about him.

like a feeling i've never
felt for anybody in my life.

so, i just thought,
you know what?

i'm gonna take this risk
and see how it goes.

woman:
come on, birthday girl.

we probably spent
eight days together.

and then, he surprised
me with a proposal.

i feel like someone
sent jay to me

to kind of be like, hey,
you've been through hell,

here's something
that's really gonna

bring some light to your
life and make you happy.

jay's very attractive,

so he gets attention
everywhere we go.

and people say that i'm crazy.

you know, they say
the typical jamaican men

kind of run through
women very smooth,

going around, you know,

their girlfriend's back
with other women and stuff.

i'm pretty sure that's how
he used to be.

whoo!

but i'm hoping that
he's changed his ways.

jay and i decided
he should move to the u.s.

so we applied for the k-1 visa.

he only has one more step
for his visa to be approved.

so i'm heading out to jamaica

to be there with him
for his interview.

i'm just super excited
to get to my wedding day

because i took off on
the past two engagements,

so, you know,
i'm a little nervous,

but i'm hoping that
the third time is a charm.

before i head over to jamaica,

i'm meeting my best
friend, natalie,

to talk about me soon
leaving to meet jay.

natalie has been
to jamaica with me,

so they have spent
some time together.

but they haven't always
gotten along really well.

hi!

late, as usual.

yes, of course.

it was crazy getting here.

no, you don't know how
to ever be on time.

oh, my gosh.

i am ashley's best friend.

we've been best friends
since middle school.

so, i know her very well.

are you ready to
go on your trip?

i'm ready.

ashley's getting ready
to leave for jamaica,

which is very crazy,
if you ask me.

i have met jay,
vacationing, partying.

and have a lot of
concerns about jay.

this is, like, a huge
thing that's happening.

i mean,
you've only experienced

the jamaican dream
of vacation with him,

and this whole man over there.

so, how's it gonna
be when he's here?

like, how well do you
actually know him?

it's gonna be a huge adjustment
for both of us and we'll see.

but no one can really predict,

you know, the future of it, so.

i just wanna be really
happy and excited for you.

but, like, my concern is --

i know that you
still to this day,

think that
he cheated on me, right?

when she went to
jamaica with me,

natalie accused jay
of cheating on me.

she claims that
she heard jay saying,

you know, that he was having
sex with two other women.

but, like, she had no proof
of anything, just her words.

you said he's cheating,
he says he's not cheating.

so that's where the problem
that is between you two.

i don't think that i just
made something up

in my head for no reason.

there's no way to
actually prove it.

but i believe that
jay cheated on ashley,

and it's terrifying to me.

because ashley has been
cheated on in the past

by every single person
that she's been with.

and she's so eager
to be in love,

that she lets red flags just go.

i've been the one in the middle

of the night coming
and picking you up.

ashley: i understand why
natalie might, you know,

have her reasons for why
jay might be using me.

because you hear stories all
the time of these foreign guys,

like, knocking
the panties off of women.

but i'm not concerned
about our relationship,

and that's what's happening.

like, my goal is to
always protect you.

right.

but maybe i don't
care what jay does

when i'm not over there.

regardless of what he had
going on in the past,

this girl, that girl,
any girl, no girl.

what he does in jamaica

when i'm not there
is not my business.

so it's like vegas,
what happens is jamaica,

stays in jamaica?
-exactly.

i appreciate
natalie's concerns,

but it's just,
you know, he's young,

and we're very far apart
from each other right now.

i'm not saying that
we haven't open engagement

or anything by any means,

but i can't expect jay to be

we've been living a long
distance relationship.

-yeah.
-so i really don't -- i'm not --

it's not my business, really,

what he's doing
when i'm not there.

honestly, if jesus
came down from heaven

right now and said
he cheated on me,

i wouldn't do anything
about it.

at the end of the day,
i don't wanna think

about what happened in jamaica.

but if jay cheats on me
here in the u.s.,

i would have to send him
packing and back home.

just remember that you don't
have to go through with this.

i know, i know.

-anything, any question.
-don't worry.

i'm gonna figure it out,
everything's going to be fine.

i really hope so.

your a*s if needed.

so it'll be ugly if
he doesn't like him.

i hope your decisions
you're making

doesn't turn around
and bite you.

asuelu only has 90 days to
win over my whole family.

it's not just my dad, he has
to win over my sister, too.

when it comes to
my relationship with asuelu,

i wasn't really honest with her,

and i have to come clean
before asuelu comes to america.

leida lives in
the lap of luxury.

if she has all this
money and stuff,

why is she moving to america?

that's old stuff.

i really messed up.

i haven't touched
any of that stuff.

i'm eric, i'm 40 years old,
i live in baraboo, wisconsin.

i'm an avionics technician
and supervisor.

i'm a former u.s. marine,
i served for nine years,

and i love america.

i was married
previously for 20 years,

and we got divorced in 2016.

i have three wonderful
daughters, tennille is 21,

natasha is 19, and jenica's 11.

being a father is
the toughest job there is.

am i the best at it? no.

but i do my damnedest.

after my divorce, i dated
several women here in america.

-mornin'.
-have a seat right there.

thank you.

they did not work out.

and i had pretty much
come to the conclusion

that the universe
wanted me single.

-gettin' the usual?
-yes, ma'am.

all right.

i was thinking about finding
my way to turkey or syria

and volunteering to fight !sis.

but i decided to try
my hand one last time.

enjoy.

thank you.

so i posted an ad in
an international website.

i said "divorced male
in america,

looking to start over in life."

-see you tomorrow.
-we'll see you tomorrow.

with somebody who wanted to
come to the united states

and share a life with me here.

and one of the first to
respond to my ad was leida.

leida said, "i'm a teacher
from jakarta, indonesia.

"and i've been
a model and an actress.

"i was fifth runner up
miss indonesia 2009.

i'm a med school graduate."

i mean, right from the start,
i'm like, come on, no way.

it was a little sensational.

i was wondering if
i was getting catfished.

i googled her, i was
amazed at who she was.

basically from there on out,
we talked every day.

and we decided to take a trip
to finally meet in person.

soon as i got off the plane,
there she was.

the most beautiful
woman i've ever seen.

we spent two days together
and then i proposed to her.

i know it's pretty crazy,

but she smiled and said yes.

my family members told
me that i was crazy

because leida's actually close
to my oldest daughter in age

than she is to me,
but she is the one.

a few months, we applied
for the k-1 visa,

it's been approved,
and in a few days,

she'll be moving to
wisconsin to be with me.

- hey, hey.
- hey, hon.

you ready?

where's alles, is he asleep?

yeah.

eric: leida has
a 5-year-old son, allessandro.

leida: yay, yay, yay.

and she's bringing him
here to the united states.

told you, you need to be
firm with the bedtimes.

i know.

eric: i am a little worried
because leida is used to

a very difficult
lifestyle in jakarta.

her parents, they're well to do,
you know, they're wealthy.

she has maids, some chefs,

drivers to take her wherever
she wants, whenever she wants.

leida lives in
the lap of luxury.

so i'm a little concerned
about her ability

to adapt to this
lower lifestyle.

and i just hope that the life
i have here is enough for her.

all right, hon,
you go to bed.

okay.

- all right, love ya.
- love you.

i think everything'll be fine.
i'm okay.

i'm hopeful,

but i'm certain
she will be all right here.

mwah, bye!

just know that you have to
get your stuff together.

when will buy my ticket?

honey, i've already
bought one ticket.

you want me to buy two tickets?

she's in for a rude awakening.

jay's k-1 visa
interview's tomorrow.

so last night
i stayed in a hotel,

because my flight leaves
very early to jamaica,

and i'm feeling
overwhelmed and anxious.

but at the same time,
i'm super excited.

this is a life-changing event,

so i'm heading out
to be there with him.

this is our final step
in the k-1 visa process.

so it's really important
that we get approved

so that he can come to
the u.s. and we can get married,

and we can go on with
our future together.

-chop chop.
-yeah, man.

blessings, blessings.

yeah, everything is good.
what's up with you?

kicking away as usual.

john wants to make sure that
i'm doing the right thing.

i was with her for five days,
and then i proposed to her.

after five days?

how do you know that she's not

just coming over
for a free visa?

so you're ready?

the whole time i've known him,
he's been very much,

"i don't want to get married."

does she know about
your ex-girlfriends?

aside from my mother, i have
a cousin that lives nearby.

his name is john,
and his wife lea.

lea, how are you?

hello, good,
how are you doing?

great, you look amazing.

you look nice yourself,
good to see you.

-come on in.
-thank you.

colt: i told both john and lea
the whole situation

about the k-1 visa, and my
decision to marry larissa.

bring her here to america.

it's good to see you
man, give me a hug.

yeah, i thought we could come
sit outside and visit

for a little bit, boys.
-how you doin', man?

good, man.

such a beautiful day.

john wants to make sure that
i'm doing the right thing,

and not just gonna
get hurt in the end.

lea:
so what's goin' on, colt?

just the usual, working,
keeping busy,

waiting for my fiancée
to arrive.

yeah, it's been a long road
comin' it's almost over.

so, whoo!

yeah, like,
the end is in sight.

yep.

i would love to
get to know larissa

and see if she's legit,
and see if she actually

has the same feelings
as colt does for her.

well, maybe it's not
about looks for her,

you know,
maybe she's attracted to colt

because he's got a sweet soul,
and, you know, he's kind and...

you know.

he might have a 12-inch p*nis,
you don't know.

now have you really
thought about this?

you mean marrying her?

marrying her.

-i thought a lot about this.
-have you?

i've had a long time
to think about it.

i was gonna say,
it's been a little while.

-the whole process.
-yes.

you know when you know,
i think.

yeah, i'm not too sure.

i'm not too sure.

you know, marriage is, i mean,
it's the biggest thing

you're ever gonna
do in your life, you know.

right, i agree.

it's one of the most
important things

you'll ever do in your life.
-yeah.

it's very important.

you know, and i mean, how long
you've been with larissa?

i mean, how many times
have you seen her?

-in person?
-in person, yeah.

well, uh,

so in mexico, i was
with her for five days,

and then i proposed
to her after that.

-after five days?
-yes.

and then i saw her
again in rio last month

so i guess that's
around 11 days now.

oh, goodness,
this is gonna be fun.

they don't really know
each other and, you know,

he's like
a little computer nerd,

but maybe she's kind of kinky,

likes the, you know,

likes the, uh,
total four eyes,

glasses, computer nerd,
kind of thing.

but i really hope that
she loves him for him.

yeah.

how do you know that
you two are in love?

i have no doubts at all.

how do you know that
you're in love with lea?

we've walked the lakes together,

and fished the streams together,

and, you know, we've been
through our ups and our downs.

we've had children together.

but i didn't really start
truly falling in love with her,

until i went through
the experiences with her.

you know,
so what makes you certain

that larissa is your love?

your one time, infinite love.

the one that you're committing
to for the rest of your life.

when i first saw her for
the first time in mexico,

it was like lighting
bolt straight down.

i can't describe them,
i don't have the words.

i still feel that.
in fact, it's grown.

but how do you know that,
you know,

larissa loves you
the exact same,

and she's not just coming
over for a free visa?

you're not the first
person to ask me this.

these type of things do happen.

i hope she's not using
him for the visa, you know,

i really do.

i hope she's not just
here for, you know, the show of,

i'm american or i'm in
america and everything,

and i get to come over
here on a free ride, you know.

in my mind, and my heart,

i believe every
word that she says.

and that's something that
i have to take a chance on,

i have to risk it.

i understand where
he's coming from.

he's family, he just
wants the best for me.

he wants to make sure
that i don't get hurt.

i know that if i don't do this,

i will regret it.

tomorrow, i leave to go
pickup fernanda in mexico.

but before i leave,
i'm gonna meet up

with my friend dani
to talk things over.

dani and i've been
friends for awhile,

she naturally became my wing man

because all of our other
friends were in relationships.

and dani's always given
me great advice.

i haven't told
fernanda specifically

anything about dani.

but because we were
always single,

dani and i always, you know,
were near each other,

but, um, you know, fernanda
understands our friendship.

hi! how are you?

-i'm good. how are you?
-it's good to see you.

-good.
-good to see you.

it's almost surreal to think
about jonathan being married.

the whole time i've known him,
he's been very much,

"i don't want to get married,
i don't wanna get married."

i feel protective toward him,

and i wanna make
sure that he's okay,

'cause there is a transition
from being a single person

to being married and putting
somebody else before him.

-this is new, what is this?
-this is new.

this is very new.

she bought me this.

you didn't get like secretly
married on us did you?

-no, no, no, no, no.
-okay.

that's your engagement ring.

that's my engagement ring.

fernanda wanted me to
wear a wedding ring,

and i'm not married yet

because fernanda's
super jealous,

and she'll cut your throat.

i mean, she's seriously, like,
i've experienced it.

but i like that.
it's kinda crazy.

so you're ready?
you're sure?

yes, yes, yeah, yes.

i'm a lot more nervous
than i thought i'd be.

well, i mean,
it's a big deal.

-so it's like --
-forever.

she's coming home to stay.

my biggest thing is
just making sure --

i mean,
taking on another person

in your life when you're used
to doing whatever you want,

those things are gonna change.

we're not known as being

the responsible
ones in the group.

right, we're not.
we're not.

we're the ones that just kinda

play it by ear
and go with the flow.

so i feel like i'm gonna have
a huge weight on my shoulders.

are you ready for that?

should we have
started with a doll?

i know obviously you guys
have had some reservations.

well, i mean, we're excited
and we're nervous for you,

'cause i'm sure she's great,
but we haven't met her yet.

so we just wanna make sure
that you're taking it serious,

-and this is what you wanna do.
-of course. of course.

time to do anything.

i mean, you close on
a house it takes 60 days.

you know,
we're closing on your life.

so no, 90 days is
not enough time.

but it's what we have

and we're gonna
make the best of it.

so she's 19, and she has...

i didn't know she was 19.

i know, you told us you
didn't know she was 19.

i swear to god i didn't know.

not sure we believe
you didn't know.

i swear.
i thought she was 24.

she's 19.

she's gonna get married.

when's she young,
wild, and free?

i don't know, dani.

does she have, like,
a crazy ex-boyfriend,

a normal ex-boyfriend?

she has an ex-boyfriend,
three years.

not a middle school boyfriend,
like a really boyfriend.

right? so...

does she know about
your ex-girlfriends?

does she ask questions about
people you've been with or...

she doesn't ask
a lot of questions.

i mean, she's asked
enough questions

that shows that
she wants to know.

do you think anybody's
gonna, like,

come up and introduce
themselves to her,

like people you've been with?

i don't know..

i don't know that
jonathan fully understands

what he's getting into, because
there's so many dynamics.

it's gonna be so different
once she gets here.

so i think that they can't
fully be prepared for that so.

she's sacrificed a lot,
giving up her youth,

leaving home to come
to a totally new country,

for someone.

and that means a lot.

like, the first 90 days
are really important.

they go horribly,
she's gonna miss her family

a whole lot more, and be
more inclined to go home.

so those are gonna be things
that i'm hoping go smoothly.

i'm hoping my mom
accepts her, my family.

how is your mom taking it?

she's like, "are you goin'
through a midlife crisis?"

you know.

jonathan: this is gonna be
a huge change for us both.

and so,
there's a ton of pressure.

especially someone
who is that young.

any false move, could throw
the train on a rail.

i've got so much goin'
on in my mind right now

that i'm hoping that
all these things

play out the way we hope.

yeah.

i'm not just gonna up
and leave,

just because she's
moving in here.

i'm not gonna leave the second
she walks in the door.

it's not exactly my problem.

i need to tell
my sister the truth

about asuelu cheating on me.

this is why i hate him.

my fiancé leida, is gonna
be here in just a few days,

with her son allessandro.

i'm so excited, i can't
wait for her to get here,

and us to start
our lives together.

leida and allessandro
are used to

living in a big home
with maids and chefs,

and they're gonna be moving in
to my two-bedroom apartment.

my apartment's pretty small,

and my 19-year-old daughter
natasha shares it with me.

we split the bills,
we split the rent.

i feel pretty bad about it,

but i had to ask
tasha to move out,

to make space for
leida and allessandro.

tasha's been dragging her heels
looking for a new place,

and i have no other options.

you know,
it's gonna get crowded here

in a few days when
they get here.

so...

so.

you know, you need to start

thinking about finding a place.

yeah, i'm aware.

it's not easy.

i mean, i'm not just gonna up

and leave just because
she's moving in here like...

i'm working as hard
as i can on it,

but you're gonna have to
give me some time here.

i know, i'm giving you time.

i'm a little worried
about leida moving here.

mostly because i don't
know her yet, and i mean,

the apartment's, like,
it's barely big enough

for my father and i,
let alone my father,

his new wife, her child.

but i'm not gonna leave
the second she walks in the door

just 'cause she lives here now.

not exactly my problem.

i don't know, it's just
still kinda to me,

if she has, like,
all this money and stuff,

why is she moving to america?

um, because she loves me.

i don't really have a reason
to trust her as of right now.

if she's coming from
this wealthy,

great life in indonesia,

then why is she coming to
little old baraboo, wisconsin?

i mean, it is a worry that
this is just all a game to her.

well, she's not gonna be happy

about sharing a place
with you for very long.

i mean, there's no surprise
here, you knew it was coming.

yeah, but she's
important to you.

she's not quite
my family member yet.

i get that.

so i don't
have to prioritize that.

but yes, i do have to make her
a priority at the moment.

-well, i'm not saying that.
-you're an adult.

i'm saying i don't
have to make her a priority.

no, but she's gonna
be your stepmom,

so, i mean,
you gotta try to get along.

at least make an attempt.

i don't know.

i don't know, it's...

hopefully, everything
will work out,

but we'll just have
to see what happens.

i'm torn here.

i love my kids, but, you know,
i can't disappoint my fiancé.

i love leida more than anything,

i just hope she can accept

what she's coming into here
in america.

especially because
i have not told leida

anything about the apartment.

my fiancée asuelu arrives
tomorrow and i am so excited.

but at the same time,
i feel kind of nervous

because there's a lot
of my family members

that don't approve
of our relationship,

so i don't know,
i'm having mixed emotions.

oh, this is cute in here.

i've lived with my sister
kolini for the past five years.

but i'm in an airbnb right now,
because she hates asuelu,

and she refuses
to live with him.

my sister and i are so close.

obviously when the baby came,
she, like,

zoomed into the dad role,

and helped me with him,
and took care of him.

but kolini doesn't
really approve

of my relationship with asuelu,

because i told her that
asuelu had cheated on me.

i wasn't really honest with her

in the beginning of
our relationship.

i didn't really tell her
when him and i were, like,

official, or on, or off.

and during one of our off times,

he ended up having
sex with someone else.

to me, it wasn't cheating.

but my feelings were hurt,
so i kind of played it up

more than i needed to.

but i never actually
told my sister the truth.

and now she hates him,

and she just doesn't
want me to be with him.

i forgave asuelu and i feel like
i want my sister

to give him a chance, because
i am going to marry him.

and i want them to get along,

i want them to have
a relationship.

so invited my sister to drinks,
because this really is

the last chance i have
with her to come clean

before asuelu comes to america.

-hello, everybody.
-hi.

-come on in, lovely.
-hiya.

-how's the baby?
-he's good.

yeah.

since aseulu's come
into the picture,

me and my sister are
definitely not as close.

we used to be inseparable,

but i do not like asuelu

because he cheated on her.

if i had it my way,

he just wouldn't be in
the picture whatsoever.

when does he get here,
tomorrow?

yeah, it's less than 24 hours.

are you excited?

i feel like i can't
fully be excited,

because of all of
the extenuating circumstances

that there's like meeting lini,
meeting my dad.

it's just a lot to process.

yeah.

are you okay? you seem like...

it seems like it brought up
kind of a sore spot for you.

uh, i mean,

i feel like the whole thing
is a little bit of a sore spot

for me.

i think i'm just anxious.

obviously, like,
i want the best for you.

i want you to be
as happy as you can be

and i know how important our
relationship is to each other.

but he's gonna be
put through tests

and he better freaking
pass 'em or else bye.

i have to...

i've thought about it a lot.

and that's, like, partially
why i wanted to do this dinner

so that i could like

come clean about
a lot of things.

i feel like
it's important for me

to tell my sister
the truth just because

a lot of her hatred is because
of me and my dishonesty.

i made things worse
for asuelu just by

not clarifying and playing up,

like, him being an.

kind of did keep a lot of
things secret.

like what?

like the exclusivity of

asuelu and i.

things that went on,

you kind of interpreted as him

cheating whereas i...

interpreted or i was told?

you were saying that
you weren't exclusive

so that he's not guilty.

no, i'm saying that
i wasn't completely honest

in the beginning
about our relationship

that both of us felt like
we wanted to be together

but it wasn't very realistic

so we kind of both left it open.

i don't know what to
think about that then.

i feel like my sister revealed

basically that she'd been
lying about lots of things.

the story that i was told
was that they were together

and he had
slept with someone else

and she was obviously
upset about it.

at this point, i don't
know what is true.

that was a new...eye opener.

i look dumb for supporting you

thinking that that's
what happened.

and now it's like,
"oh, no, just kidding,

that's not what happened."

but it's not,
i'm, like, telling you

that i lied about
a bunch of things.

okay, then i accept you lying
about it, now i'm...

okay, you lied.

now me and him can
be best friends.

i'm, like, telling you

that i lied about
a bunch of things.

okay, you lied.

now me and him can
be best friends.

i did this dinner

so that i could be honest with
her and tell her everything.

well, and this is why
i hate him.

i wouldn't have
this issue with her.

i don't understand how else
to say that i lied.

like, how many different
ways i can say,

"i lied, can you accept this?"

i feel like in her head,
she already has decided

what she wants me to say

and i'm telling her what it is,

not what she wants to hear.

why are you so upset?

i'm telling you i've lied
about a lot of things

and you're not accepting that.

i just don't know how
to react

or how to feel at this point.

i feel like a lot of
the people in the family

that have issues with asuelu

are because of things
that i have said

or that i haven't said.

that's what i was
trying to tell you.

i don't know
what else to say.

yeah, but then i still
bring this back to him.

like, i feel like

the issues that we have,
the issues that

make you upset are not
because of anyone else

but him being in your life.

i feel torn, i don't
know what else to say.

i love him, i love you,
i want everything to work out.

like, i don't know what
else i'm supposed to do.

so what do you want me to do?

i just wanted to
have this dinner

so i could be open with
you about everything

that's happened.
-well, now i know.

and, okay, and now,

i want us to be able
to be better.

well i'm torn.
like, i want you to be happy.

so now i feel like
i have to get over it.

can it just be done?

honestly, after tonight,
i still feel confused.

i feel like there's a bunch more
we still need to talk about

and i feel like it would be

better to have him here
and hear what he has to say.

but i also don't wanna
make any promises as to

what i'm gonna do
or how i'm gonna feel.

asuelu comes tomorrow so
there's only a couple more hours

but after tonight with
my sister i kind of

feel even more confused about
everything that's going on.

i love my sister and i'm
just a little disappointed,

obviously.

we both love each other

too much to let
anything between us.

it's been two days since
i last skyped with larissa.

originally,
i bought her a ticket

to arrive today
but i had to reschedule

for her flight to arrive later.

but she's tired of waiting so

when i told her that
i rescheduled her flight

she seemed very disappointed
and upset.

it's been a really
long, drawn out process

with larissa's visa.

i really hope that
she can get it soon

so that we can start
our lives together.

honey.

congratulations!

oh, i already
bought your ticket.

for two weeks.

well, no. i'm not.

i had no idea when larissa
will receive her visa

so i had to reschedule her
flight for two weeks out

because it was cheaper

than scheduling her flight
for two or three days out.

i can't buy you
a ticket the same day.

that would be
exponentially expensive.

honey, i've already
bought one ticket.

you want me to buy two tickets?

essentially, larissa wants me
to buy her a new ticket

for the same day
which would cost

upwards of $2,000.

i didn't feel very inclined

to spend that much money
on a second ticket.

i'm not made of tickets.

we don't all live in golden
houses and drive rocket cars.

we're gonna have more bills
very soon with your arrival.

we have to make plans
to live together.

why would i jeopardize
our first months together

because you want to
rush things?

honey, i've done...

honey, of course,
i do not have doubts.

that's ridiculous.

why would i be at
the final stage with you?

i would've done something
different a long time ago.

you can wait a few more
days to come to america.

we have a whole
lifetime together.

what's your hurry?

i do feel the same,
i love you.

you're gonna be my wife.

but we need patience.

i think larissa is being
larissa in this situation

but she has to be
understanding

and patient with me.

i can't move mountains,
even though i might want to.

well...

i can have more...

well, i rather like
my beard, but.

have a good day, darling.
i love you.

honey, i love you.

i'm a little disappointed
right now,

i feel like larissa
is being quite

ridiculous in her demands.

she doesn't understand
the larger picture.

i have to think of these
things for us both.

she thinks it comes to america,

everyone lives in
hotel high rises,

lights and glamour,
it's not realistic expectations.

and that's what she's gonna
think when she comes here

then she's in for
a extremely rude awakening.

i realize i'm the ex-wife
but i'm not the enemy.

leida doesn't understand why
i need to give my ex-wife money.

she's had issue with

that fact that i gotta
pay child support.

it's day one
of the rest of our life

and it sucks because
i really messed up.

leida's gonna be here
in a couple of days.

i have not had
a chance to talk to

my oldest daughter,
my youngest daughter yet

about this too much.

so my ex-wife tania

has brought them down
to meet us for lunch

to talk this over...

hi.

...just to make sure that

the daughters will accept
leida and allessandro

into the family.

i know it will be hard with
my middle daughter, tasha,

because she hasn't moved yet

but i don't want this to
drive a wedge between us.

i don't wanna have to choose
between my old family

and my new family.

i want this to become
a blended, happy family.

onion rings?

god, no.

yes, i eat onion rings now.

i see your tastes changed
in more ways than one.

really?

i had to.

so my ex-wife, tania,

we were married

right after i got outta boot
camp from the marine corps.

when my marriage was good,
it was great.

i think being away
is what kept us together.

my marriage survived nine years
in the marine corps,

it couldn't survive nine years
of civilian life.

the loaded potato
skins are amazing.

those things are good.

eric and i were actually
together for 21 years.

it was a roller coaster.

i mean, we still
like each other.

we still work together
as a team and as parents.

so how's everything going
with all of this then?

she's gonna be here
in a couple days.

oh, that soon?

tuesday.

oh, on tuesday. oh, my goodness.

oh, i thought it was gonna be...

-so.
-it's cool.

yeah, what do you guys think?

the fact that she's only
a few years older than you.

yeah, that's the weirdest
part about it.

i have not met leida

but i think because she
would be this much younger

will definitely be interesting.

what about you?
you haven't said much.

especially about
having a stepbrother.

mnh-mnh.

so really, what do you think?

well, i don't really know
a whole lot about her

so give me a little bit
more information

so that way i can feel like
i know her a little better.

so she comes -- she's got --
her family's got money.

they got some maids,

they got some
chefs, some drivers.

oh, why are you not
going over there?

why is it not,
the situation not reversed?

because it's america.

he's a patriot,
he's not going anywhere.

so if she could live
comfortably there,

it's still better here.

what are your concerns,
though?

as long as she doesn't
overstep parental boundaries

and we're able to work
together, you know?

that's the main thing
that i have, you know.

i want for eric to be happy

but they don't really
have a whole lot of

face time together

and i was a little surprised
about her way of life

over there and some of
the background that she has,

she seems to -- that she has
a good life already.

you know, the thought
goes through your head

and you wonder, you know,

if there's any
kind of an ulterior motive,

you know, for her coming over.

-she knows not to overstep.
-right.

she's not gonna try
to push you out.

so you don't have to worry
about that if that was

your concern.

yeah, i realize i'm the ex-wife,
but i'm not the enemy, you know?

we're gonna have to
interact anyways.

exactly, that's what i tell her.
i mean, you're gonna have to.

there's no reason
not to get along.

well, she's...

there was a period there where
she didn't wanna meet you.

now she will, she's willing.

-nervous.
-it's probably anxiety.

well, do you wanna know what
her issue was?

it's the child support.

she doesn't -- over there,
it's totally different.

she doesn't quite --

hasn't grasped the idea
that it's a court-ordered

payment, support payment.

so she's had issue with

the fact that
i gotta pay you money.

leida doesn't quite
understand why

i need to give my ex-wife money.

and i think
it's a cultural difference.

leida's ex-husband does
not pay child support

'cause in indonesia,
there's no such requirement.

but leida's just gonna have
to come to the understanding

that i'm going to continue to
pay my ex child support

for my daughter.

doesn't matter, i mean,
if it wasn't court-ordered,

i'd still do it anyways,
you know?

yeah, sure.

it's my daughter.

well, i'm kinda surprised that
she feels that way about eric

having to pay child support.

i felt taken aback by that.

maybe things are different
in different countries

but i would think that
it's a good thing that

he would like to make
sure that his kids

are properly taken care of.

so i hope
she can understand that.

eric: my ex-wife has these
concerns about leida

is the financial stuff.

child support,
it's a big expense
