but as we're all fully aware

the talismans and that portal could unleash
a dangerous cataclysmic disaster,

are not allowed at Monster High.
So best we know as much as possible
about the talismans and their abilities
before the Blood Moon Eclipse, yes?

than their foremost expert, Mrs. Stripe?

- Now, for those of you in possession of a talisman,
I highly suggest incorporating it
into your project.

while you prepare the dry ingredients."
- And Mrs. Stripe seems nice, but she paired me with Toralei,
who wants to meet in the woods to work on our project--

[potion hisses]
- [groans] I can't shake this feeling
that Mrs. Stripe is up to something.
- Mom's necklace says "trust your instincts," right?

not just during a full moon.

to my electric powers.

will possess the strength to stop a tsunami.

So now the real fun begins.

- So I was thinking after this, we could get mani-claws
and then head to the Scratching Post for dinner.
I know their dragon fire-roasted tuna steaks
are your favorite.
- Can't, kitten. I have so much to do.

Did she spill her guts about her mummy and the Moon Claw?
She's quite young for it.
Maybe I would be better suited--

I mean, trying to reveal Draculaura's witchcraft
was clawful, and she can be...prickly.
But I think she just needs a friend.
- Clawdeen!

- We're all busy, so I'll cut to the chase.
Toralei tells me you're quite attached to that Moon Claw.
- Um, yeah. It was my mom's.

which leads me to my proposal.
A trade: that Moon Claw in exchange for...

with sweet sentiments you'd love to read.
And since she did open that portal to Beheme,
maybe she has some tips for you as you try to get her back.

- If you want to make the trade,

It could provide vital information.
So I'll make the trade.

on Monster Talismans?
This looks like it was made by a sticky-fingered toddler!
You should know it's going to take a lot more
than that little Moon Claw to get your mother back.
Even when we had all six talismans,
the portal was so unstable, it nearly exploded
before it trapped her in there!
This diary was your only hope.
Too late now. Good riddance. - [gasps]

- Yes.
Now I have a were-community to rule,
but this isn't over.
Toralei, get Clawdeen back to school.
Can't have Headmistress Bloodgood on my case
about losing a student--again.

- Well, yes and no.
My mother will never be tricked by a fake.
She is the world's foremost expert
on Monster Talismans, or whatever.
But the only way we'll get away with getting you that diary
is by making her angry--
and this fake will do just that.
- But then she'll just be angry.
We still won't have the diary.
- [chuckles] Au contraire.
She may not be fooled by a fake Moon Claw,
but she will be fooled by a fake diary.
This is the real switcheroo.
But we couldn't do it alone.
As soon as my mum arrivesat a restaurant,
she always orders a purr-fect,bone-cold meow-tcha latte.
But this one wasn'tgoing to be so purr-fect.
That's where Cleo came in.
- That's your cue, my little beetle baby.
Break a leg! [scarab chitters]
Ah, make Mama proud.
- Mmm, I love a bone-cold meow-tcha latte.
- I knew when she saw the bug,my mum would not be pleased.
She'd call overthe nearest server.
That's why Clawd and Lagoonahad put in a big order.

- Over here, girls!
- See, we just hadto make sure to time it right
so that the servercarrying the goo puddings
would be passing our table
right when my motherspotted the bug.
Which is where Frankiecame in.
- Pip pip, cheerio.
- The puddings went flying,
giving me an excuseto shield the diary.
Except I wasn't shielding it--
I was switching itwith the fake.
The switch wasDraculaura's cue to fly in.
So then we offered my mumthe fake talisman.
She was, as I predicted,enraged,
and burned the fake diary.
Meaning she'll never realize we switched them,
and Clawdeen gets to keep the real one.
- But how'd you know she'd burn it?
- It's her go-to move.
- A D-minus?
I ordered triple chocolate! This is only double chocolate!
These aren't the fireworks I wanted!
These are for babies! - Mum, wait!
[fireworks exploding]
- Mom would be proud.
- Thank you all for your help.
Toralei, none of it would have been possible without you.
That's really unexpected.
- Yeah, thanks, Toralei.
- You were great. - Big zaps.
- Uh, just don't get a big head about it.
- Huh, it actually feels weirdly warm and fuzzy
to be nice.
