How, what, where, why?
What, where, why?
How, what, where, why?
What, where, why?
Ada Twist, scientist
She's gonna find out what the answer is
Under here, over there
Science is everywhere you look
With Iggy Peck, architect
And Rosie Revere, engineer
So much to do
And you can help too!
A mystery, a riddle, a puzzle, or a quest
There are wonders to discover
And hypotheses to test
Science is the best
Ada Twist, scientist
She's gonna find out what thе answer is
Everywhere science is
She's forming a hypothesis
Connecting polka dots
'Cause this is scientist Ada Twist!
"Bee the Change."
Science Scouts, today we take a new step
on a great scientific adventure,
and we do it together.
Project Manager Simon,
remind us what we're building.
A super awesome water rocket.
And when we finish,
we'll get the last badge we need
to graduate
from Molecutes to Membrainiacs.
-Wow.
-Hey.
Membrainiacs.
Science Scout Parent,
will you please show everyone the badge?
You know you can just call me Mom, right?
Mom, I'm president.
I've gotta be professional.
Oh right. Of course, baby,
I mean, Miss President.
This is the All Hands On Deck badge.
To get it,
you have to build something as a team.
-Wow!
-Can't wait.
Before we build our water rocket,
Secretary Rosie,
will you please take roll?
Aye-aye, Pres. Ada?
President. I mean, "present."
-Simon?
-That's me.
Rosie?
I'm here.
-Sawa?
-Here I am.
-Miguel?
-Hey.
Iggy?
Iggy Peck, absent.
We can't get our badge without Iggy.
Every Molecute has to work on the project.
Where could he be?
-What if he was captured by trolls?
-Yikes.
I don't think Iggy was captured by trolls.
He's right over there.
Go on, Molecutes, get your fellow Scout.
I'll be here.
-Right.
-Let's do it.
-We have the power to save the flowers.
-What are you doing?
Did you forget the Molecutes meeting?
Oh, hi guys.
Sorry, I'm trying to raise awareness
about the park's flower problem.
What flower problem?
There's no problem
when flowers are around.
It's Rosie rule number seven.
But that is the problem.
The flowers are disappearing.
Going through my Science Scout photos,
I noticed something.
There are way less flowers than before.
There's hardly any left.
My dad designed the park
with all kinds of flowers.
My mom loves how pretty they look.
I need to make sure
everyone knows they're disappearing.
Maybe I can help change it.
That is sad about the flowers,
but today we need to get our badge
so we can graduate to Membrainiacs.
Membrainiacs.
It's the All Hands On Deck badge.
You're one of the hands.
Well, two of them, technically.
Sorry guys but the flowers
are all I can think about right now.
Every day counts
when trying to change the world,
or the park.
We have the power to save the flowers.
What can we do?
We can't get the badge without Iggy.
Saving the flowers
is really important to him.
Getting our last Molecutes badge
is also really important, but…
-We have the power to save the flowers.
-We pledged to always help a Scout.
Let's put it to a vote.
All in favor of helping Iggy say,
"Flower power."
Flower power.
-The Molecutes have spoken. Come on.
-Let's do it.
We're gonna help you
raise awareness about the flowers.
Wait really?
Of course.
There's plenty of time
to save flowers and get our badge.
Wow, thanks guys.
I have the best Science Scout troop ever.
-What do we want?
-More flowers!
-When do we want it?
-Now!
Or at least by next growing season.
We have the power to save the flowers.
Hey, how's your sign coming?
Not great. My brain won't focus.
Something in there wants to come out.
Like brain goo? Awesome.
No, I think it's more like--
A question.
Why are the flowers
disappearing in the first place? It's--
A mystery, a riddle, a puzzle, or a quest
When I don't know the answer
To a question or a query
Why, why, why, why?
My curiosity leads to discovery
Why, why, why, why?
We're ready to go
The g*ng's all here
Another adventure with the Questioneers
-Don't know what we'll find
-But it's fun to try
That's why I
Ask why!
Whatcha doin' over here?
Shouldn't we be saving the flowers?
We are, but I was thinking,
maybe to save the flowers,
we need to find out
why they're disappearing first.
-Good idea.
-How do we do that?
We could start by making observations.
Let's take a closer look at these flowers.
Yeah, all I'm observing
is there aren't a lot of flowers left.
Too bad we can't go back in time
to observe when there were lots of 'em.
We can.
Well, kind of.
Iggy, let's see those photos again.
Maybe there's a clue there.
Sawa, why are you
running away in all the photos?
Probably 'cause of bees.
Bees?
You're right, look.
When there were lots of flowers,
Sawa was always running away from bees.
Yeah, they kinda scare me.
Don't be scared.
They're more afraid of us than we of them.
Yeah, and aren't bees super important
for pollinating flowers?
Yep, super-duper important.
Bees and flowers need each other.
Bees take the pollen from one flower
and deliver it to another one
so it can make seeds,
which turn into more flowers.
Seeds are like teeny flower babies.
-Flower babies? Cute.
-I don't see any bees here.
Right. There are no bees
pollinating these flowers.
Hey guys, you gotta see this.
This is beeswax,
which means honey bees used to live here.
-Where do you think they went?
-No idea.
Wait. Sometimes,
people take beehives to honey farms
so they can collect the honey.
That's where my mom gets honey.
But we need bees here
to pollinate the flowers.
Yep, we need to bring the bees back.
My brain is buzzing for a brainstorm.
Awesome.
We'll just tell the bees to come back.
I know how to speak bee, like this.
Rosie, I thought you said
you knew how to speak bee.
I do. They communicate
with a beautiful dance called the Waggle.
Do the Waggle. Waggle-waggle-waggle.
Wiggle-waggle.
Yeah!
Waggle-waggle-waggle.
Oh yeah!
I don't think the bees understand us.
Are we doing the Waggle right?
Maybe my Waggle's rusty.
Anyone else have any ideas?
I do. We could make
a bee water park with honey slides.
This place will be buzzing with bees.
Honey. Yum.
Wait a second. Honey.
What if we bring 'em back
and they get taken to a honey farm again?
Forgot about that.
Too bad there aren't bees
that don't make honey.
Then they'd never
get taken to honey farms.
There are bees that aren't honey bees.
Lots of 'em, actually.
Bees that don't make honey? Mind blown.
They're called native bees
'cause they're from the area.
One type is the mason bee.
Great pollinators, but they don't
live in hives or colonies like honeybees.
They build nests and tiny tunnels
where they snooze and lay their eggs.
Kinda cute.
I have an idea. What if we build
a bee hotel with lots of tiny tunnels
so mason bees have a safe place to sleep?
And they love wildflowers.
We can plant more to attract them.
We'll need all hands on deck for this.
-Let's do it.
-Yeah.
Okay guys, move the branches.
Ta-da. The brand new Bee 'n' Bee.
Whoa.
If I was a bee, I'd stay there.
And look Mrs. Twist,
we planted wildflowers to attract them.
This Bee 'n' Bee is already buzzing.
Great work, Scouts.
I know bees are cute and important,
but they still make me a bit nervous.
Remember, they're way more scared of you
than you are of them.
Yeah, and they pollinate fruits
and veggies too, not just flowers.
Like blueberries. You love those.
I do love blueberries so much.
I guess bees are pretty amazing.
Miss President Ada,
now that we've helped the flowers,
is it time to build our water rocket?
I almost forgot.
We need to finish our project
and get our final badge. Let's go.
Whoa there, baby.
I mean, President.
It's late. Everyone has to go home.
No. We didn't get our badge yet.
I'm sorry guys.
It's my fault
we didn't become Membrainiacs today.
Membrainiacs.
It's not your fault.
We wanted to help a fellow Scout.
That's what troops do.
Plus, bringing the bees back
was way more important than a badge.
Definitely.
You saw a problem
and decided you'd be the ones to fix it.
Yeah. You've got to bee the change
you wanna see in the world. Or the park.
And you did it as a team,
which means you earned these.
-We did it!
-Yeah!
Oh no!
I mean, oh hi there, cutie bee.
Thanks for the blueberries.
Everyone say, "Membraniacs."
Membraniacs.
"Battle of the Boogie Bots."
You're up late, Lil'-- Hey!
Whoops, sorry.
I'm working on a robot prototype
we're making for Gadget Get Down.
We lost to Miguel's team last year.
If we wanna win,
we have to make a better bot.
I'm doing the head and body,
Iggy's building the arms,
and Rosie's making the legs.
They're sleeping over tomorrow to finish.
Why you two still up?
Working, Mom.
You do know who the guest judge is, right?
We know, your hero,
Dr. Leticia Luna, the Robot Whisperer.
Does she whisper to robots
or do they whisper to her?
They call her that
'cause she's one of the best
robotic engineers in the world.
Check out her bots.
-Awesome.
-Not bad.
They're amazing.
My part of our prototype's
not perfect like hers yet.
My favorite tennis player, Arthur Ashe,
said it don't need to glitter to be gold.
What's that mean?
It doesn't have to be perfect,
it just has to do the job.
Both Arthurs are right.
A prototype is the first of something.
Then you work on improving it.
It's late. You need to sleep.
But the contest is only two days,
eight hours, and 22 minutes away.
No "buts." Your brain needs rest.
Pretty sure that's science.
You're right.
According to my sleep research,
brains restore after a night's rest.
Okay, I'll go to bed.
My bot! I have to fix it
before Iggy and Rosie get here.
Hey Ada, are you ready to--
-What happened?
-Before bed, all the pieces were together.
-But it was like this when I woke up.
-It's obvious who did it. Ghosts.
Good I brought this.
Rosie rule number 102,
always pack Spooky Scanner
for a sleepover.
Looks like the room is clear.
I'll check under the bed for monsters.
Monsters?
Just dust.
So if it wasn't ghosts or monsters,
who was it?
Mooshu!
I don't think Mooshu's paws
could hold the tools to take it apart.
-Good point.
-True.
Ada, is that a wrench in your pocket?
How did that get there?
And that stuff on your hands
looks like the oil we use for bot joints.
And this junk trail
leads straight to your bed.
Ada, did you take the prototype apart?
What? No, I was sleeping.
Maybe you sleepwalked.
I did that once
and I woke up eating a tuna sandwich.
Maybe Ada sleep-worked.
What does your sleep research say?
Looks like scientists
are pretty stumped about sleepwalking.
There's nothing about sleep-working.
There is a sleep disorder called RBD
where people act out their dreams,
but I dreamed
about playing volleyball with the moon.
Let's build our bot,
then figure out
how to keep Ada from sleepwalking.
Good idea. Loading the lab.
Presenting the Boogie Bot.
It's gonna dance-battle
Miguel's team and win.
I don't know, guys.
Our prototype looks kinda not perfect yet.
Ada, the Gadget Get Down
is a bot prototype contest,
not a most perfect robot
in the world contest.
It just has to dance-battle
without any glitches.
Maybe ours could be both,
a prototype that's perfect,
-like Dr. Luna's bots.
-Let's see if it works.
-Go Boogie Bot.
-Robo-rific.
Wish we had time to make it perfect.
I think it's bot-tastic.
Come on, let's boogie into a brainstorm
and figure out
how to keep you from sleep-working on it.
Brainstorm, brainstorm
Throw in every thought you've had
No idea is ever bad
Brainstorm, brainstorm
Gather up your friends and try
To find the how, the what, the why
Brainstorm, brainstorm
Let our imaginations
Become great new creations when we
Brainstorm, brainstorm
Brainstorm, brainstorm, hey!
I know, what if we make a giant teddy bear
to give you teddy bear hugs
while you sleep?
But teddy bear hugs are so good,
you'll wanna stay in bed.
You'd miss the Bot Battle.
If I missed it, that would be unbearable.
'Cause it's a teddy bear.
What if Ada slept in a bubble gum bubble?
If she tries to get out,
it would pop and wake us up.
But if the bubble pops,
Ada's room would be all sticky.
That would be sticky-icky.
We could put bike horns in my room.
If I sleepwalk, I'd step on them and wake.
Bike horns are loud.
They'd wake up everyone in the house.
-Ada.
-Go to bed.
My family wouldn't like that.
Wait a sec. Maybe instead of bike horns,
we could booby-trap your room
so you can't get to the robot,
but with quiet stuff.
Like an obstacle course. Love it.
Me too. I'll design it.
I feel good about this.
It'll definitely keep our prototype safe.
What are you doing?
Recording. I wanna be sure ghosts
aren't messing with the Boogie Bot.
I hope it's not ghosts.
I hope it is 'cause then it's not me.
Thanks, guys.
Tomorrow we'll finish our bot.
-Good night.
-Sweet dreams.
Good morning every--
-Oh no!
-Huh?
Our Boogie Bot!
Oh, it had to be ghosts.
There's no way
Ada got through our obstacle course.
Check the video.
Whoa.
Wow Ada, you crushed our course.
I did it again,
and the Gadget Get Down is tomorrow.
If we don't stop me from sleepwalking
and taking the bot apart,
we're not gonna win.
Winning doesn't matter,
we want you to be okay.
You're stressed,
but at least it wasn't a ghost.
If they like something,
getting them to leave it alone is hard.
Wait a minute, stress.
When I sleepwalked,
I was stressed
about my model skyscraper falling apart.
I think we connected the polka dots.
My research also says
stress messes with your sleep cycle,
so maybe stress about the prototype
is making me sleep-work.
Maybe if you feel less stressed,
then you'll stop sleep-working.
But how can I be less stressed
when Dr. Luna's judging the contest?
She'll never
give first place to a basic bot.
-It don't have to glitter to be gold.
-Good point.
Remember the old planes
my great-aunt Rose built?
They weren't fancy,
but they changed the way people travel.
And the first telephones were huge,
and they could only make calls.
But we needed those first versions
so we could have what we have now.
Doesn't have to be perfect,
it just has to do the job.
Okay, let's rebuild our bot.
The Boogie Bot's back in business.
What do you think, Ada?
I think, since the Gadget Get Down
is tomorrow, it's good enough, I guess.
We can help you not feel stressed.
Yeah, to make extra sure
you don't sleep-work tonight.
Now I'm feeling nervous.
I hope our bot's good enough to win.
We'll find out tomorrow.
Don't worry,
it doesn't have to glitter to be gold.
Good night.
Nighty-night.
-Guys, look! I didn't sleep-work.
-Yes!
-Thank fairyness.
-I was so stressed before.
Thanks to you guys,
now I'm just excited to show off our bot.
-Me too.
-Me three.
Let's get ready for the Gadget Get Down.
There's Dr. Luna.
She looks even smarter in person.
Their prototype looks so perfect,
but it doesn't have to be,
it just has to do the job.
-Hey guys.
-Howdy.
-Ready for this rematch?
-Think so.
-He means yeah.
-Warning you, our bot is cute.
And has some fierce dance moves.
Well, may the best bot win.
I'm Dr. Leticia Luna,
and welcome to the Gadget Get Down,
where the prototype that works best wins.
Ready for your bots
to get down and boogie, scientists?
-Yeah!
-Totally.
This is it, makers and breakers.
Two teams, one trophy.
On your marks, get down, and boogie, bots.
The winner is
the Boogie Bot by Ada, Iggy, and Rosie.
-Yeah!
-We did it.
-Good game.
-I love your bot.
I want it to teach me moves.
-Get down with your bad self, Lil' A.
-So proud of you.
Congratulations scientists,
your prototype performed perfectly.
-Thanks.
-Thank you.
Dr. Luna, my name is "Fan"
and I'm your biggest "Ada."
I mean, the other way around.
That's robot for, "Thank you."
No way!
That means, "I speak robot too."
Sorry our bot wasn't perfect like yours.
We worked so hard.
I even sleep-worked on it.
Are you kidding?
Your bot performed far better
than my prototypes when I was your age.
See, prototypes aren't perfect,
they just have to do the job.
Don't stress about the nuts and bolts.
Come, these bots
shouldn't get to have all the fun.
