You know how you can
recycle some waste, but not all?

Mum and I put them in different bins.

Waste you can't recycle normally
goes to landfills.

Sometimes people get sloppy
and it ends up in places it shouldn't,

like our creek.

Sometimes rubbish trucks spill waste
because people don't replace old bins.

Rain washes loose waste
into storm drains. It's a system fail.

Dirty water from creeks
and storm drains ends up in the ocean.

That's bad for fish and humans.

People can hurt the planet,
even if they don't mean to.

This is a giganti-normous problem.
We've got to do something.

Right. We want
to help the planet, not hurt it.

Crawfish clean-up crew.

Those creatures like eating waste.

I've been doing
a lot of eco-research lately.

Crawfish eat ocean waste, not human.

We could design a giant vacuum cleaner.

What if it glitches and sucks up the park?

I didn't think about that.

What if we transform your vacuum design
into a sanitation submarine?

Sounds sub-tacular. I don't think
the creek is deep enough to go that far.

I've got it. Instead, we turn our boat
into a waste-trapping machine.

We could design jaws
to rake up the garbage.

Okay. Operation Rescue the Raker
was a success.

We need to figure out
how much waste it can hold.

Loading the lab.

-How do we keep our boat afloat?
-Let's see.

According to my research,
we need to look at the Raker's density.

I predict the Rubbish Raker's destiny is

to clean up the creek.

"Density," not "destiny." That's
how much stuff is in a space.

If there was a ton of people in here,
it'd be super dense.

Yeah, pretty dense.

If there aren't a ton of people
in the same space, it's less dense.

Got it! A rock has high density
because it's heavy and small?

Like my pet rock, Chippy?

And a fluffy pillow has low density
because it's light and big?

Exactly!

Now watch this.
Can you add extra weight to the tray?

Makes sense.
We added too much extra weight.

The boat is denser than the water,
so it sank.

We just cracked the code.

what's our plan?
