I'll work it out with the

Oh, I don't know about
the lord, but the state

would certainly frown on that.

Anyway, how long since
your last confession?

- Four months.
- How long?

- Well, it's been a while, okay?

I've had impure thoughts

I welched on debts,

She's about to give him a
name. Then he slaps her.

Maybe it's somebody
that she knows.

Just doesn't know
the first name.

[Intense music]

[Telephone ringing]

- Get it.
- Hello?

Man 1: And how are
we this lovely morning?

How's Melissa?

She looks like
five million bucks.

- Is it ready?
- Just like you said.

- Can we talk about this?
Man 1: Who the hell are you?

Frederick Lewis' son.

Now, isn't it enough you've
put my father in the hospital?

Man 1: No. It isn't enough.

In fact, it's about five
million shy of enough.

Well, maybe we could work
out some kind of deal here.

Man 1: Aw, what's
the matter, weasel?

You afraid you're
gonna have to get a job?

- It builds character.
- Well, maybe you should try it.

Hey, I have tried it,

and I am tired of
snot-nosed punks

who haven't the
faintest idea of what it's...

Put your stepmother
back on the phone.

Although, I guess she's
more like your sister, isn't she?

[Sighs]

[Sighs] Yes?

Be ready to go
the next time I call.

It's that teacher.
Get me the school.

Get me the school right
away. It's the teacher.

That's Mr. Butler.
I'm sure of it. Listen.

"Snot-nosed punks?" He's
talking about the students.

That's the reason why
Melissa called him "mister."

Mr. Butler, the science teacher?

Yes, all that crap about,

about butterflies and chrysalis?

I went to his
apartment yesterday.

He has butterflies
all over the wall.

Man 3: Here.
- Yes.

This is detective Williams.

Uh, is, uh, Mr. Butler
teaching today?

No. Thank you.

Williams: I knew I had a
weird vibe about that guy.

[Cell phone dialing]

- Yo, ed. Torres:
Yeah. What's up?

- It's that teacher, Mr. Butler.
- You positive?

- Just about. No, no, no.
- We'll pick him up.

Williams: He's not at work and
he's not gonna be at his home.

Now check it out. Send
some cars to his house.

- Just in case.
- We're on it.

Uh, tell me what you found
out about the place he worked.

- It's shut down.
- Where was it?

What's the address to
that Bridger chemical place?

Uh, 114th.

It's from the same
area he was calling from.

Okay, look, why don't
you go check it out?

The drop's going down.
I'll keep you posted. Alright?

- Alright.
- Hey, where we going?

Come on, man. Give me the keys.

[Dramatic music]

Wouldn't want you
undernourished.

You're crazy.

Maybe. Maybe it's the...

Maybe it's the sanest
thing I've ever done.

- They're gonna get you.
- They're not gonna get me.

To get me, they're
gonna have to hurt you.

And they're not gonna do that.

And if they hurt me,
they'll never find you.

They're gonna find...

[Groaning]

[Music continues]

[Telephone ringing]

- Hello.
- Take the money and leave.

Jennifer: Where am
I supposed to go?

Out the front door
and to your car.

Go alone. You're being watched.

I wanna talk to Melissa again.

Just follow instructions.
The car, now.

[Music continues]

[Engine revving]

[Siren wailing]

Okay, now just do what he says,

but try not to be too
obvious in letting us know.

Oh, so many things
could go wrong.

Yeah, for him,
too, we'll be able

to track you from the wire.

Uh, you're not gonna
do anything that's...

We won't do anything

to put Melissa in danger.

You know that.

- I better go.
- Hm.

If anything should
happen to me...

It won't.

You'd be a great mother, Nina.

I really mean that.

[Instrumental music]

[Sighs]

Let's go.

[Dramatic music]

[Cell phone ringing]

- Yeah? Butler: Are
we having fun yet?

What do I do?

Take the tracking devices out

of the bags, throw
'em on the sidewalk.

- Uh, but I don't have any...
- Ah, just do it!

[Butler scoffs]

How dumb do you think I am?

- Okay, done.
- Now...

Drive down park Avenue

and don't say anything
more unless I tell you to.

- Got it? Jennifer: Got it.

[Engine starts]

[Music continues]

[Beeps]

Okay, she's still got
the one on her body.

- Heading towards midtown.
- To what? Port authority?

Penn station?

That doesn't fit. I mean,
he wouldn't book now.

He knows we're
still looking for him.

So?

It's a diversion. He's
moving her around.

Now, his whole life is uptown.

His place, the
school, his old job.

He's gonna try to make
the switch up there.

[Cell phone ringing] Williams.

Torres: Yo, there's
nothing at the warehouse.

Williams: Alright, the mother's
bringing the money to him.

- Now.
- So what do we do?

I think you should go hang

by the north end of the park.

Nina thinks he'll return there.

Torres: We're on
it. Williams: Alright.
