- Hello one and all!

Welcome to another thrilling
episode of "Mice & m*rder."

I am your humble dungeon
master Brennan Lee Mulligan.

With me as always are our Sylvan Sleuths.

Say hi, Sylvan Sleuths.

- Hi, Sylvan Sleuths.
- Hi!

- Howdy, Sylvan Sleuths.
- Hi, Sylvan Sleuths.

- Sylvan Sleuths.

- Oh, lordy, lordy loo, last week

did we have a doozy of an episode.

I don't even know if I can
fully do the recap by myself.

I'll tell you this, what was
discovered from top to bottom

was a treasure trove of information.

Last week began with the
entrance of Catherine McCabbage,

the widow of the slain Connor McCabbage

arriving at Loam Hall, shepherded
aside by Daisy D'umpstaire

the widow was cordoned off
and questioned by Daisy

who revealed that she had seen the ghost

of her dead husband.

This was confirmed by Daisy,
and the belief that indeed,

something occult was afoot

and ghosts were wandering Loam Hall.

Could the diseased Connor McCabbage

have come back from beyond the grave?

Going to the upper room where we found out

a whole bunch of
information from our friends

that were in Mrs.
Molesly's room we found out

that the elevator really
does go to the cellar.

We found out that we
needed to get the key back

from Mr. Gilfoyle, there
was a big discussion

of sharing of information.

Daisy D'umpstaire arrived very briefly

to speak with everyone up
there and the widow McCabbage

about the existence,
perhaps, of ghosts or not

and ended up going to
the downstairs bathroom

where she discovered not only some secrets

within the ledger books

from Squire Brockhollow's private study,

but also discovered the
electrical system at work.

And through a breaker
switch, at which point

Sylvester Cross saw the
ghost of Daisy D'umpstaire

appear at the docks at
the foot of the hill

for indeed a projected series of illusions

using the innate electricity of Loam Hall

that had been installed here connected

to the lightning tower up above,

and some mysterious
power source far beneath

the manor house, we saw indeed

that some ability to
project these images existed

which means that the ghostly
image of Fletcher Cottonbottom

that Sylvester Cross saw at
the beginning of the party

means that perhaps Fletcher Cottonbottom

is alive and in Loam Hall.

However, that theory
was quickly thrown out

as an investigation into
the master switch room

in Squire Badger's study
revealed not only a connection

between the downstairs water
closet, The Seance Room,

and also a room simply labeled T,

but the Widow McCabbage
discovered letters.

(dramatic instrumental music)

Letters threatening Squire Badger

telling him that dark forces were at work

and that he should never have crossed him,

signed by Sylvester Cross.

These horrifying letters were discovered

alongside a secret doorway
in-between two chimneys

and Ambrose Harding's hidden
book of names and dates.

Dates connecting the
names that Gangie Green

was required to go and dig up.

Daisy D'umpstaire's mind
racing over these names

that now have these dates
associated with them.

Daisy adjourned to the billiards room

where we saw the gruesome
m*rder of Lady Brockhollow

and her husband, Dr. Magpie

with scrawling blood writing on the walls

threatening once more
a horrible occult end

to the entire Brockhollow family.

Sylvester Cross observing
this simply stated

that as a detective he would investigate

and declared the writing

with the simple words, "A perfect match."

Taken by hand by Mr. Gilfoyle, screamed at

by Jeremy Brockhollow, Sylvester
Cross the obvious m*rder*r

of Lady Brockhollow, her husband,

and the original Squire Brockhollow.

And Lady Lucretia accused him

of being an occultist all along.

This providing the perfect
cover for Gangie Green

to slip through the air ducts of Loam Hall

and snatch the key to the elevator.

Our various investigators now rush

to meet secretly in the
dark of The Seance Room

as the constables have
arrived just in time

to collect the incriminating
evidence about Ambrose Harding

and to throw Sylvester
Cross into an oubliette

in the bottom of the
wine cellar of Loam Hall.

There to await the conclusion
of the police's investigation

and to be dragged off to
rot in the Tower of London.

We return to The Seance Room

as Lars Vandenchomp,
the Vicar Ian Prescott,

Daisy D'umpstaire, Buckster
$ Boyd, and Gangie Green

all gather together here in darkness.

As we go down the line,
the hour draws late.

It is about probably like
1:30, 1:45 in the morning.

For all of you gathered
here, I want to go around

really quickly with how everyone is doing.

You just watched the
world's greatest detective

and noted skeptic be arrested
for the crime of m*rder,

and not only m*rder, but a
series of murders horrifying,

occult in nature and you wonder

if any of it could have been true.

Some of you saw the magnetic gyroscope

in the bust of Barkus Aurelius,
but is that just something?

The only thing you have to conclude

about the electromagnet is
the assurance from Sylvester

at the beginning of the night.

Are ghosts real?

And I don't know if
Sylvester's told anyone

that he saw the ghost
of Daisy D'umpstaire,

which means that right now all Daisy knows

is that she saw the front of Loam Hall

from the mirror in the bathroom.

What's that?

Oh wait.
- To his credit,

Grant did in that moment say-
- And I said all of that.

- As I was teasing him for
not actually telling us

anything in that room he
said, and I tell everyone

this is the case.
- No, I said all those things.

- Oh, then nevermind.

So you all have that information, great.

This is gonna be a big,
everybody put their cards

on the table episode, I have a hunch.

So in that case, you do
know that he saw the ghost

of Daisy D'umpstaire, is
that all a ruse, an act?

Or is Sylvester Cross a person

with a supernatural ability to know?

And wouldn't it be a
much cleaner explanation

if his incredible eye for detail,

his ability to piece together mysteries

from the shine on someone's button

or a bit of dust under a fingernail,

what if there was something
more occult at work

behind the brilliant Mr. Cross?

I want to go around, and given
how long this night has been

what is going on internally

with everybody, emotionally, mentally?

Where are people's thoughts being drawn?

The police are here,
Sylvester's been put away

so to that degree the
m*rder has been solved,

but I don't know if everyone necessarily

has a good feeling in their gut.

Let's go around the room really quick.

What's going on in everyone's
minds and hearts right now

as we go around the room, Buckster?

- I think that Buckster
was momentarily relieved

to have the bullseye or
the target not on him.

The self-preservational part of Buckster

was looking at the evidence
that was stacking against him

and imagining it was going to
be him thrown in that dungeon

and so when it was in fact
Sylvester Cross he was elated,

but that feeling that he
described to Sylvester Cross

of feeling uncomfortable because someone

was pulling the wool over his eyes,

but normally he's the one in that position

of control, hasn't gone away.

There's like, he can't
get over the feeling

that even Sylvester Cross being thrown

in a dungeon is a con.

- Amazing.

What else, with the other four inhabitants

of The Seance Room, what is
going on internally with them

as they quickly gather together?

Yes, Gangie Green.

- So just so we're clear,
everyone pretty much

knows everything at this point?

Like, I even know that he was arrested?

- Yeah, we're about to share information,

but I just want to know

where all these characters
are emotionally.

These characters have been
doing a lot of problem solving,

and now that there's this huge crescendo

of Sylvester Cross' arrest
and Ambrose Harding's arrest,

I just want to make sure we know

where all these characters are emotionally

because like you said, there's
still a ton of loose ends.

Like, Buckster's contract is still out,

there's other sh*t going on.

But the world has been thrown into chaos.

And even though there's a resolution,

there's still a lot of chaos left.

I want to know what
people are thinking about

like on an emotional, internal level

where their priorities are,
where their mind is racing to.

What's on Gangie's mind
in this wild night?

- Gangie looks after himself,

and right now it looks
like he's off the hook.

So I think Gangie is strangely calm

and is just, like truly
could just leave and be fine.

- Hell yeah.
- But needs work.

- Yeah, he needs work, so
that's another important thing.

Yeah, Squire Badger dead,
ain't no more grave robbin'

happening in Tufting Meadows.
- Yeah.

- Are there any other characters?

So one of the other remaining three.

- I think I'm, well first of all,

I feel bad about my last
interaction with Constance,

that that was the last interaction

I was able to have with her.

But also, I'm still concerned
about what's happening.

Like, I'm not sure if like Sylvester,

I got a better read on him
that he would be capable

of doing these heinous acts, but also that

he's probably a better, as
a world-renowned detective,

he's probably a better m*rder*r than that.

And then also, I mean, if
he were to be a m*rder*r,

I think that he's probably
a better m*rder*r than that,

like capable to get away with it.

But also I'm concerned about Lars

in terms of, clearly
they had this connection

and now Sylvester's being taken away.

- Yeah, definitely.

I think I probably say something
along the lines of like,

"I'm sure he knows what he's doing."

You know, and just kind of
like, I mean obviously it's

like very unsettling how
like nonchalant he was

about being like, yeah,
arrest me, you know?

But that almost makes me think more

that he has something up his sleeve

and I'm just kind of
telling everyone that like,

we live together, I would know
if any of this was going on.

Who the f*ck draws a little,
tiny picture of themselves?

Like, what's going-?

Like, of course not.

This was a framed moment,
we'll get to the bottom of it.

- And Daisy during this
time, similar to Lars,

Daisy's mind is racing, she's very shaken

because similar to Lars,
she has lived with this man.

So I think she believes, you know,

during that whole relationship
I thought I was the one

that's the criminal, two,
that had the secrets.

So she feels really like
her world's upside-down.

She also feels a pang of like,

well, this is why you
don't get close to people.

No one is as they seem.

You can't be yourself when
you're bound to someone,

when you are star-crossed with someone.

And she feels, she hopes in her heart

that Sylvester has
something up his sleeve,

that he's purposely imprisoning himself

to get into the bowels of the house.

But this has been the first
time when she doesn't feel

like she can be a step ahead necessarily.

She doesn't really know
what he's thinking.

- Yeah, I think I put
a paw on your shoulder

just in a very like, olive
branch moment of being like,

he will be fine, but something
is brewing against us.

- Yes.
- Like something big,

and I don't think we're out of the woods

with just getting the valet arrested.

- Yes.

- Here's why I take comfort.

(sighs) I never met Sylvester
Cross before tonight,

and I will admit I think he is a man

that lives up to his legendary status.

One of two things are true.

He is locked up because he deserves to be

or he is locked up with a plan in place.

- Because he wants to be.
- 'Cause he wants to be.

Yeah, definitely.
- And in either case,

we can be confident that
things are as they should be,

but I for one cannot believe that a man

who would call it Stabber of the Evening

(Sylvan Sleuths laughing)
is Stabber of the Evening.

- In that case, you are
all in The Seance Room.

You rush in and the conversation begins.

Rather than stumble through
it, I'm gonna go ahead

and just list off what
I think you all know.

You guys let me know if
you withhold any of this.

So before everyone interacted last,

the things that are shared
with the group are the library,

the busts, the hidden
magnet inside the bust,

the Medal of Valor.

Daisy, do you have the ledger
books, do you share those?

- The ledger books that are in my butt?

- Yeah.

- I do not share those with Buckster

because those are just for
me to make private money.

- Cool.
- Off of Armond,

but I do share something
else if I'm allowed to.

- Yeah, go for it.

- Okay, this is something
I've only told Buckster,

but I look at Gangie
and I say, "Mr. Green,

let me ask you something.

You say you used to work for
Fletcher Cottonbottom, yes?

Now, what in the heck would Squire Badger

have your address in London

in Cottonbottom's handwriting for?"

- Um, I-
- If that was an old job

why would your new job have that?

That's what I'm asking.
- Incredible.

Katie, would you kindly roll
a deception check for me

and text the result to me.

Anyone else in the room,
please roll an insight check.

(text message bell ringing)
- sh*t's going down.

- Do I tell you what that is out loud?

- You can tell me what that is out loud.

- Ooh!
- I got a 19.

- 19.
- Ally?

- Brutal, six.
- And I got a 12.

- But it was on 20 for a really long time.

- Ugh.
- It just kind of like

slid across the screen on a B, f*ck.

- And I pull this address
book also out of my butt.

- And did anyone get
higher than Rekha's 19?

- Nope, I got a 12.
- Cool, awesome.

So you ask the question of,
"What the hell is your address

doing in Fletcher Cottonbottom's
handwriting in this book?"

Katie, I will allow you
to answer that as Gangie.

- I have no idea.
(player chuckles)

- Really, you have no idea?

Because huh, funny, I used
to work at a sweets shop

when I was a girl, but
Buckster ain't in contact

with those people, that's an old job.

This is my new job.

Ain't no reason for the two

to be communicating via my address.

- No, honestly, I have no idea. (chuckles)

- On your 19 insight, you look at Gangie.

You don't think Gangie has any idea.

This is not, there's no
kind of slickness here.

Gangie, you look and see your address.

That is your address,

that's where you used to live in London,

and you remember getting a
knock on the door one day

and seeing Ambrose Harding
outside of your spot

and him asking you if you wanted to move

to Tufting Meadows to become a,

because he said that your reputation

as a groundskeeper preceded you.

- Okay, perhaps, perhaps it's
a simple job recommendation

from Cottonbottom just to Badger.

- I didn't know.
- Okay.

- A pallor of distrust hangs in the air

(Rekha laughs)

as Daisy points out the handwriting

of the address from Fletcher Cottonbottom

with Gangie's address on it

in the secret study of Squire Badger.

Other stuff that gets
shared by all of you are,

Gangie has the key once more.

You're keeping the ledgers hidden. (hums)

And let me see here, yeah.
- Oh, and Lars,

do you mind sharing with me the two mice-

- Oh, the knife?
- Yeah.

- Were holding my knife.
- Definitely.

- Other stuff-

- Oh, can someone share
with me mushroom stuff?

- Yes, and the 3:00 a.m.
- Yeah, I can do that.

- Cool.
- Like all of that, yeah.

- I'll do all the elevator stuff
and all the mushroom stuff.

- (smacking lips) Yum, yum, yum, yum.

- Hell yeah, all the Hawkins
stuff in the study gets shared.

Rekha, you shared the Sylvester letters.

- Yes.

- And all the electrical sh*t.
- Yes.

- They say they saw your
ghost out on the docks.

- And I go, "Huh?"
(Brennan laughs)

- I mean we-
- And I tell them

about the connection of McCabbage

and the ghost projection thing.

- Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.

- That's probably when we
put that together, right?

- Yes, exactly, yeah.
- Okay, yeah.

- Cool.
- Oh wait, what thing?

- Just the thing we were
all talking about before

where like, if you stand
in front of that mirror

or a different projection point

it looks like a ghost is outside.

- Awesome, okay, so you guys have all

of that information that you've gleaned

since the last time you were all together.

- Oh, I have one more
piece of information.

- Yes.
- Sorry.

Additionally, that book I
handed over to the constable

that contained the list
that Mr. Harding gave

to Mr. Green here, I saw Gangie
in June of this past year

there were two people's
bodies you had to dig up,

Rufus Roundear and Claude
Frommage, French for cheese.

Two mice, you know anything about that?

- Yeah, I done dug up
those two bodies in, um,

right when I was hired.
- Really?

- About May.
- First order of business huh?

And you just dug up the bodies.

You didn't take anything off
of 'em, put 'em in the house?

- No, I just brought the
bodies to the elevator.

- To the elevator, okay.

Now, my next few names,
Ramsay Rook, Sven Huginn.

Are they birds?
(dramatic instrumental music)

Probably.
(Ally chuckling)

- They're crows.
- Mm.

And those are the next few people

you brought to the elevator?
- Mm-hmm.

- Okay, interesting.
- Yeah, two and three.

Two and three.

Three and four, I'm not educated, yeah.

- Three and four, ah, no worries, dear.

- Yeah.
- Now um, the next one,

you had a little field day in Badgerville

'cause we've got several badgers here.

- Lots of badgers, right.

I did think that was weird,
but I didn't say nothing

'cause I was gettin' paid.
- You're doing a job.

You're a man doing your job.

I don't ask about the candies
I sell, I just sell them.

Okay, now, your last two, very recently.

- Otis Hornsby and Bartholomew Bighorn.

- Bingo, are those two sheep, rams?

- Um, the first one was a
goat and the second was a ram.

- Interesting.

- But who, I don't know the significance.

- Well, I don't either,
I'm just postulating,

but it ventures to say
that if a few badgers died

and we've got a few badger bodies here,

do a little switcheroo,
maybe a mouse is gonna die.

There's a mouse switcheroo.

Maybe tonight, who's next, I don't know?

We've got bird bodies,
we had Dr. Magpie passed.

We got a bird body switch, we have sheep.

- [Ally] Whoa.

- We have a sheep man, the man-

- That drunk sheep.
- Whoa.

- Though a gentleman
wearing a kilt, very loud.

- Drunk sheep man.

- Is it possible he's the next victim?

I don't venture to say I
know the answers to anything.

- I don't know nothin'.
- Now, um, Daisy,

I'm only a touch better at
counting than Gangly is here,

but do you mean to tell me you speculate

there'll be as many as 12 more murders

by the time the night is out?

- I do not know what
forces are at play here.

What I do know is there are 12
bodies used for some purpose.

You know, it's possible the two
mice, that was back in June.

That was nigh on, my God, I'm
not good at numbers either,

four months ago. (laughs)
- Or so I.

- Anyone that wants to can
make a history check for me.

- Okay, great.
- Oh.

- 18.
- Ooh.

- 18, Cool.
- Also 18.

- I got 23.
- Six.

- Whoa, Vicar got-
- 15.

- Is Vicar in this room?
- Yeah, he's with all of you.

Cool, you guys may have already
said this and I missed it

so apologies if this is
not a huge b*mb drop,

but I'm gonna text this
to Raph with that 22.

- 23, wait.
- Oh, 23?

- Mm-mm.
- Yeah, 23.

- Cool, so Vicar, you get
that high history check.

You're talking about those mouse bodies.

You're talking about like,
what is it you're suggesting?

And Vicar, you think back to
your own personal timeline

with those mouse bodies.

- I seem to remember that Connor
McCabbage in fact did die.

He was in fact a mouse.
- You're absolutely correct.

- And his unfortunate
passing came about in July.

- And did not, am I crazy,
didn't another mouse die

during this whole backstory
in this crazy town?

Am I crazy?
(Grant laughing)

- No, there was not
another mouse that died.

It was just Connor McCabbage.
- Okay,

well, we better f*cking protect his wife.

(Brennan laughs)
- Oh no.

- It's as if they're

putting bodies in the ground

that aren't the people they say they are?

Listen, sorry.

- Yeah, horrifying stuff.

You guys dwell on this,
but the point being

you have put together the list

of the different sort of animals

that were gathered up by Gangie.

The number is confusing to you,

but certainly the first two bodies

that Gangie dug up were mice.

And Connor McCabbage died
in July of this year.

- Connor McCabbage is absolutely
in this f*cking house.

We knew it, we know it more.
- (laughs) Incredible.

Rekha, you handed
Harding's book over, right?

Yes, you did.
- I did, to the police.

- To the police, cool.
- Uh-oh, was that bad.

- No, you're good.

Cool, so you guys have put
all this information together.

You're looking around, it feels
like there's something else,

but you guys are all in the room.

You guys have put all
your cards on the table.

What do you guys do at this point?

- Oh, I know what I want to do.

- Gangie, what do you want to do?

- I want to go find, I want
to go talk to Sylvester.

- Hell yeah.

- Before you take off, Gangie,

can I have a quick conversation with you?

- Yes.
- (clears throat) Now Gangly,

look, I understand you've
just lost an employer-

- It's Gangie!
- Yeah, sure.

Call me whatever you want, too.

(Sylvan Sleuths laughing)

You wanna call me Bucko?

Some people do.
- No.

- Um, anyway, to keep things
formal between employer

and employee, Gangly, I
understand you've lost a job.

Well, I have another.

In a moment I'm gonna
offer you a small fortune

in exchange for that key.

Now, there is a hawk who I suspect

has a contract on his person.
- Hmm.

- You're able to get your
hands on that contract,

deliver it back to me, I will
double that small fortune.

Meanwhile, there's a pair of mice

with a dagger in their possession.

You manage to get your
paws on that back to me

and I will triple that small fortune.

- I don't know 'cause I was planning

on taking like a little vacation

'cause I didn't get a lot
of time off and then this

was kind of like an
opportunity to do that but...

- I understand and I think
you deserve a vacation,

Gangly, you absolutely do, but think

of the type of vacation that you can go on

with three small fortunes!

Why, anywhere in the world!

- Oh, I think I'll do it, yeah.

- Very good, Gangly, very good

because you are good at the doing things.

I'm good at the delegating.

- Hell yeah, so Gangie, you
get these three instructions.

What does Gangie do?

- Does 'em.
- Hell yeah.

- First the key, hands
the key over for money.

- The key.
- Ooh, baby, Buckster-

- And I'll say Daisy is really impressed

by the trust level of this.
- Cool.

- I do think Sam is correct
in that her trust walls

are breaking down slowly.

Just wanted to say.
- Love that, beep, boop, bap.

- And then second was get that contract

so I'm gonna head over
there and then third-

- I'm basically banking on your stealth

and your pickpocketing abilities.
- Yes.

- I'm basically paying
you to do the dirty work

that I need to happen
in order for me to not-

- Not have your name
on the, yeah, totally.

- Have the next target on me, yeah.

- Hey, Buckster, having a
good criminal work for you,

I mean like, you know, is not bad.

It's not a bad thing, incredible.

Gangie, you slip off.

Gangie, I am going to need you

to make a perception check for me,

and go ahead and do it with advantage

as you move through the house.
(dramatic instrumental music)

Also, by the way, for our
people that were imprisoned,

all of the heat is off of
you for Buckster, Lars.

- [Ally] Great.

- And like, they caught the
m*rder*r, it's Sylvester.

Cool, Gangie, go ahead
and roll that for me

if you'd be so kind, that
perception with advantage.

- I got a 29.
- A, that's a nat 20.

- Did you roll a nat 20?
- What's that, nat 20?

- Yes and then plus nine.
(Sam laughing)

- You should announce that!
- Oh. (laughs)

- Okay.
(Sam clapping)

- Can we...
(Sylvan Sleuths laughing)

Go ahead and roll stealth
with advantage with me

with that incredible nat 20 perception.

- Stealth?
- Yep.

- 20.
- Dirty 20?

- No dirty, yes, a dirty 20.
- A dirty 20, incredible.

Incredible, incredible.

- Hell yeah. (snapping fingers)

- Was that good?
- No, it's sh*t.

- So a nat 20 is like, the best.

- It's not great.
- A nat 20-

- I know but-
- A dirty 20, dirty 20's good.

- No, but I mean the dirty 20's not great.

Like, I could have done better.

- Yeah, Katie, next time

if you just study a little
more before you do it.

(Katie laughing)

- Cool, so I sent you a
question, Katie, incredible.

(Brennan hums)

Change of plans or stay on track?

- Change of plans.
- Incredible.

- Oh.
- For everyone in The Seance

go ahead and sh**t me
your change of plans,

whatever Gangie would do.

You can go ahead and text it to me.

For everyone else in The Seance
Room, Vicar, Lars, Daisy,

and Buckster, as Gangie leaves

what do you do in The Seance Room?

- Well, you said it's about 1:30?

Or is it a little later now?
- It's about 1:30, yeah.

- We've got about 90 minutes

before we need to be in that elevator.

In the meanwhile I say
we make our faces seen.

(soft instrumental music)

- That's a good point.
- I agree.

- That is a good point.
- I think that's very smart.

- That's a good point.

- At this moment I'm pretty
dispirited from all of this,

you know, a lot of people

I think I know who they
are, they're aren't

A lot of people I thought I
couldn't trust maybe I can.

And I look to Buckster
and I say, "Buckster,

I think it's done.
(epic instrumental music)

This is my last ride."

- (scoffs) Oh, Daisy,
Daisy, Daisy, how many times

in our careers am I
gonna hear that from you?

- She takes the ledgers out of her butt

(Grant gasps)
and from under her bosoms

and she says, "I was
gonna sneak off with these

and make a pretty dime.

And I'll be honest, one of them

is still in my body somewhere,

but I'm not gonna give it to you.

But I can't live this way anymore.

This is my last ride, Buckster."

- Because why, Daisy?

What on Earth do you have
that's better than this,

that's better than the thrill,

that's better than the freedom?

- I think that's the point.

I don't have anything
better and I never spent-

- I think that I-

- I never spent time looking for it.

- I think that Buckster is,
he's rarely if ever emotional.

And this was never a
romantic relationship.

- No.

- Except that Buckster was
always romantic about the work.

- [Rekha] Mm-hmm.

- And as he collects
these things from Daisy

he can't help but feel

like it's a little bit of
a breakup conversation.

- Mm-hmm.
- Whoa.

- And he looks at her and he says, (sighs)

"I get it, Daisy.

It's like I always say,
it's not about the money,

it's about doing what you love,
and what I love is money."

(Raphael and Brennan laughing)

- Incredible.

- Do you want to do your
secret sleuth check, Buckster,

on some of these things?
- Some of which things?

- [Brennan] These ledgers.

- The ledgers that came out of my butt.

- Oh, the ledgers, oh yeah.
- The butt ledger.

- If now is not an inappropriate
time for me to do so

I would love to-
- No, I think-

- Pour through these documents.

- I think this is absolutely
an appropriate time.

- I was just thinking, since we're all

in the same room seemingly,
that's very rare.

- And alone, I agree.
- So if you got some sort

of info it would be sick to have.

- Yes.

- Before Gangie stabs one of us. (laughs)

(Brennan humming)
- (laughs) Yeah.

I'm so worried now.
- Yeah.

- Gangie goes full rogue
and slits our throats.

- I know.

- Campaign becomes just
Sylvester and Gangie.

- I wish that Gangie, I
knew I was gonna do that,

but I was like, f*ck, now I
Rekha know this Gangie thing,

but Daisy doesn't so I have
to still give this speech

about wow, I trust everyone now.

(Grant laughing)
- Wait, what?

I was...
- Nothing, Katie.

- You don't trust me?
- Huh?

- No, it's all good.

Right now there's a lot of
scuttlebutt behind the scenes,

but I also want the story
to continue to move forward.

- Yes.
- Cool, awesome.

For the people in the room, so Buckster,

you say that with Daisy.

You have these ledgers.

Buckster, are you gonna
stay and study these

in The Seance Room or go
somewhere else with them?

- (sighs) I think that I'm
determined at some point

to make my face seen at the party

because I don't want to be
acting suspicious right now,

but before I do I'm gonna
do a glance at these

and learn whatever I
can there in the moment.

- Hell yeah, Vicar and Lars,
you see Buckster sitting down

with Squire Badger's personal finances.

Buckster, you take a look at these books.

I'm gonna say a cursory glance, Buckster,

go ahead and just give
me an insight check.

- Is this a mistake?

Should I bet doing a more thorough look?

I'll make, okay, it's a 19.
- Hey!

- 19, I will say on a 19

you see there's a ton of sh*t in here.

A more thorough investigation

would probably yield more
results, but what you see

is a tremendous, tremendous,
tremendous amount of debt.

- Hmm.
- Hmm.

- Yeah, that says he's buried in.

- A tremendous amount of debt.

With a little bit more,
you start looking into it.

You would need a little bit more time.

You would need to beat at least a 20

so you have to sit down somewhere,

but you think you might
be able to piece together

the entire story of Squire
Badger's last 10 years

from these ledger books on that 19.

- Okay.
(light instrumental music)

- Gangie Green comes back into the room.

- Yes, I want to do it
before everyone leaves.

- Hell yeah.

(Katie clears throat)

- Gangie, back so soon?

Could it be that you are
this good at your job?

(Rekha laughing)

- I think I'm gonna do
that a little bit later.

- Yeah, okay, but not
like, after your vacation.

- No, I have something to say.

- Yeah, say-

- Back when I was working for Cottonbutt--

Cottonbottom, Cottonbottom,

I was not like the inner circle, you know?

I was more just like
doing it to get money.

And there were a group of criminals

who were very close to Cottonbottom.

Now, in the last few years these criminals

have been disappearing.
- Yes.

- And that was part of
the reason I came here

to the countryside to escape London

to not have to deal with disappearing

even though I wasn't really like a loyal,

loyal Cottonbottom person.

But anyway, I have
recognized in this house

five former Cottonbottom criminals.

- Five!

- Who are they?

- And let me-
- You just now,

just now recognized them?
- Yes.

- Listen, don't make fun
of his weird weasel brain,

but let me ask you,
five people disappeared.

- Yes.
- Bodies nowhere to be found.

- Yes.

- Are these the same people in this house?

- Yes.

- (gasps) oh, oh!

The debt, he's disappeared himself!

- No.
(group laughing)

- No?
- Oh, okay,

well, f*ck you, Lars.
- Okay, yeah-

- I guess somebody lied to me.

- I guess you can f*ck right off. (laughs)

- All right, I'm sorry,
I wanted this to be-

- I'm sorry, somebody explain this to me.

- Listen, I can't just say.

I'm trying to, you know, get the drama up,

you know, having fun.

- Hey Gangie, hey Gangie?
- Oh my God.

- Yeah?

- Not the time to have fun, honey.

- Come on, it's always time.

I thought I was going to be
going on vacation, you know?

And then I've got this

so it's like a little vacation for me.

Anyway, should I just say it?
- Yeah!

- Yes!
- Please do, please do.

- Please, Gangly, please.
- All right.

Okay, so... (sighs)

- It's like the mystery
version of tantric sex.

(Sylvan Sleuths laughing)

- Gangie, you're edging all of us.

- Anyway, yesterday-

- I'm clutching the tablecloth behind me.

- All right, so (clears
throat) like I said-

- Through the vents you hear, "Me next!"

- Sylvester downstairs. (laughs)

- Oh, yeah!
- So like I said,

recently we've had some new guests arrive.

The police officers, right?
- Yes.

(Rekha gasps)
Their real names are,

Ronnie Socks-
- No, no, no, no, no!

- Jiminy Jellicle, Paul Rover,

Fido McFang, and Roger Barksdale.

- You know what I f*cking thought?

- All of them-
- I thought,

why are there four police officers here

or five police officers
or whatever. (gasps)

- All of them loyalists
to the Cottonbottoms!

(thunder crashes)
- Boom.

We cut to an oubliette at
the bottom of Loam Hall.

(laughs joyously) Those cops did take

an awful long time to get here.

- Yes, they did.

- I mean, 12 hours by my watch.

- Yes, they did.

- Oh, Grant, what is
going through the mind

of Sylvester Cross,
alone in a deep stone pit

surrounded by masonry,
some chains clattered

against the wall, completely pointless

because it's 12 feet up to the trap door

and there's a heavy object
on top of the trap door

preventing you from opening it

and you're all alone in the dark.

What's going through the mind

of the world's greatest detective?

Well, first of all, he's been
in tougher spots than this.

(Brennan laughing)

This ain't sh*t so...
(Katie laughing)

Sylvester's very confident

that he's going to get
out of this somehow.

He just needs to use that
big old fox brain of his.

So the first thing he's going
to do is run an investigation

on the room to see if there
aren't perhaps any ways out

or really anything he
could glean about the cell

that he currently finds himself in.

So he rolls a 16 for investigation.

- You do not find any
secret doors in here.

You don't find any sort of hole
in one way out of the room.

On a 16 though you do find
a little bit of fungus

growing in the mustier-
deep in the wine cellar.

(licks fingers)
(Brennan chuckles)

- Did you say a little bit of mustard?

- A little bit of fungus.
- Fungus! (laughs)

- Fungus.

- As you touch your fingers to it-

- Cyanotoxins.
(Raphael laughs)

(Rekha gasps)
(Grant slurping on fingers)

- [Brennan] Yes, you do feel Cyanotoxins.

- Interesting.

(soft instrumental music)

- And on a 16, yeah,
it touches your tongue.

You feel that little acrid taste,

maybe a little alkaline as well.

And (smacks lips) it's a
little jolt through you

as you taste it.

I think on a 16 as well,
(stirring instrumental music)

I love this.

Sylvester, on a-
- Now-

- Oh yeah, go for it, yeah,
yeah, yeah, go for it.

- My thought on what to do down here,

I do have thieves'
tools, and I'm wondering

if there's not perhaps a way
to carve myself a little out

now that I'm already
down on this lower level.

- What I would love from you is this.

You can attempt to escape these manacles.

It will be very, very difficult.

What I will need from you is this.

It is going to be a DC 20 check
to get out of both of them.

It'll be DC 15-
- You still smoke. (laughs)

- Still smoking.

A DC 15 will get partial progress.

Go ahead and roll a sleight
of hand check for me.

- Yeah, I sure do.
- Oh, come on.

- 16.

- Sylvester-
- Ooh!

- You reach, grab your thieves' tools.

The thieves' tools clatter
to the ground a little bit.

You reach down, you've
been thrown down here.

And I think in this moment
you are looking down.

When you got brought here as
well, they threw you in here

along with some of your other
accoutrements, your overcoat.

The overcoat you wore here was
something Lars packed for you

if you remember the
very, very first episode.

Lars was doing your packing,
and you feel a bulge

in the outer pocket of your overcoat.

- My goodness, it appears
the coat is happy to see me.

(Brennan laughs)
- He says to no one.

(group laughing)
Sylvester, you pull out

an old deerstalker hat
(Katie gasps)

that was left on your
doorstep many years ago.

(sentimental instrumental music)

(Rekha laughs)

As you do so, you smell the hat

and see a part of the gift
that you somehow missed

'cause the person who gave it to you

is one of the only people
slick enough in the world

to get something past you.

A tiny curved thieves' pick in the hat.

With that 16, you put the
hat on your head and pop off.

So the manacle is still
attached to your left wrist.

The 16 is not enough to get it fully off,

but both your hands are free at least.

You have your full range of dexterity.

You are partially out of the manacles

with dear sweet Daisy's thief pick.

- Wow.
- I'm gonna say

with that incredible kindness from Daisy

and from Lars for packing it.

You have your full range of motion now

so now I actually will allow
you to make another check

in the room if you would like to.

Pick any skill you want,

but now that you've gotten
out of those manacles

you can make another
check if you would like.

(warm instrumental music)
- Hm...

Well, my best stats are on investigation

and I feel like I'm between
that and perception.

- Perception, I think you can definitely

make a perception check if you would like.

I would also say in this bizarre moment,

even though it's not your best,

you've already made your
investigation check.

- Yeah.
- I would also allow you

to take another skill such as
history or nature and apply-

- Now, nature's very interesting

because I thought for a moment
because there are mushrooms-

- [Rekha] Mushrooms?

- In here that are holding

some sort of an electrical charge.

And I'm wondering if I can't use that

either to follow them to an exit

or perhaps build a quick contraption

and MacGyver myself something
that can open a gate.

So I think nature might be the move.

- Go ahead and-
- I have a +5 on nature, too.

- Go ahead and make a nature check for me.

- 15.
- 15.

The 15 is still something.
- Hm.

- So you're thinking like,
can I MacGyver a contraption?

You're like, I have some
thieves' tools, but I'm not sure.

You can't make something to
get your way out of here,

but momentarily, so
Gangie, you just come in

and said all the cops in the house are-

- Criminals.
- Are criminals.

- Bad guys.
- Are bad guys.

As that happens, you guys all see

(Brennan exhales and inhales raspily)

the room that you are in, total darkness,

glows with unearthly light.
- Okay, okay.

- The crystal ball (mimics
reverberations) comes to

and you see flickering,
horrible resolution,

a truly bad, grainy image,
the ghost of Sylvester Cross

within the crystal ball
looking out at all of you.

- By God, he was wrong.

Ghosts do exist and he is one.

- No, I think this is
that projection thing.

- Yeah, I don't think so.

Even I don't think so.
- I know, I was being cute.

(Brennan laughing)
- That was very cute.

- It's very cute, it's very cute.

- That was cute.
- All right.

- I actually found it cute, yeah.

- Yeah, I got yelled at

for doing a dramatic thing.
- Thank you, Lars.

- Oh, you're so cute.

- Daisy ignores whatever
the f*ck Gangie is saying

and has a moment where she sees,

(dramatic instrumental music)
Sylvester is out of his locks

and she has a small smile to herself

because she knows exactly how
he was able to pick his locks.

- Hell yes.

- And I have a little
smile, too. (chuckles)

(Brennan laughs)

- And we both have little, tiny smiles.

- Matchmaker.

- And now this is not two ways, correct?

I can't see them see me?

I can't see them?

- You got a 15 so what you
are doing right now is,

there's a puddle on the ground.

You've made a little conductor
conduit into the puddle.

You've taken a stretch of hide
from an old scrap of fabric

and stretched it into something
and have a little gramophone

so you've MacGyvered this thing.

It's extremely fuzzy
and you can't see them,

but you might be able to hear them.

For the rest of you, you
guys can both see and hear-

- Can you hear us, can you hear us?

- I say, is that the voice

of Eel Musk spying on me once again?

(group laughing)

- We gotta tell him about the cops.

- Tell him about the cops for sure.

- Yeah.
(dramatic instrumental music)

- Gangie, you wanna tell him?
- Sure.

- [Brennan] Cool.

- Yes.
- Yeah, we tell him.

- Great, the cops are fake, gotcha.

- Yeah, do we have to do it again?

- [Brennan] Great.

- What do we do?
- The cops are fake.

The debt, we want to
talk about the debt maybe

as if that's helpful.
- Great.

- What else?
- Squire Badger's

in a world of debt, whatever that means.

- Way less helpful right
now, but good to know.

- Yeah.
- Real solid.

- And the cops are not just fake.

- Any more big real estate
sh*t you want to get into,

maybe save it for when I'm
free, but hey cool, I'm psyched.

- Well actually, now that you mention it,

there are some big opportunities
in the United States.

- And not just that the cops are fake,

but that they are Cottonbottom's cronies.

They're criminal, yeah.
- Yes.

- Yeah-
- He knows all about it.

We can assume he knows all.
- Okay, great, perfect.

Yeah, he knows everything.
- And perhaps most importantly

Mr. Fox, sorry, not Mr.
Fox, right? (laughs)

- [Grant] Long day, I'm fantastic.

- Mr. Cross, perhaps most
importantly, Fantastic Mr. Fox,

we are all aligned that if
Fletcher's accomplices are here

that means Fletcher is driving this ship,

and you, sir, are innocent.

- Oh yeah, you think?

You think maybe the the
world's greatest detective

didn't go into the room

and paint his own picture
after admitting to a m*rder?

- Hey!
- You think maybe

that I didn't go for that?

- Uh-oh, Sylvester, this
connection's getting bad.

If you want to stop giving us f*cking lip

maybe we can keep talking.
- It sounds perfect to me.

The connection sounds great to me.

It sounds perfectly, it's as clear as day.

- Don't duh me, man, don't duh me, okay?

It's not as if I sent you a
bunch of mean text messages

thinking that you've been
tricking me this whole time.

- No, no, oh yeah, everyone
all of a sudden was like,

oh no, I'm getting m*rder mysteried

with the world's greatest detective

thinking he'd paint it on the
wall that he was the bad guy

and left a note incriminating himself

for the guy he was trying
to blackmail or something.

What did you think my deal
was with Squire Badger?

Oh, you had no idea

but you thought I might be guilty anyway?

Cool, cool, cool.

Great job all around!
(Raphael laughing)

- So do we leave him down there or?

(group laughing)

- Can you imagine being married to this?

They wonder.

- All of you hear another
scream in the house.

- f*ck.

- All you hear another-
- What was that?

(Brennan laughs)

- What do you all do?

Sylvester you know is
trapped in the wine cellar.

- Oh, this will exonerate him.

Oh no, and incriminate one of us.

- With the fake police.

- I think we go toward the scream.

- You go towards the scream.

In the entrance hall on the dais there,

everyone rushes downstairs.

The body of Lady Lucretia.

(Sylvan Sleuths gasping)
- No!

- [Rekha] Another badger.

- On the dais scrawled in blood you see

scrawled in blood above
this you see the words,

do you think these walls can contain me?

I do not need my hands or body

to call upon the power of the grave.

I have taken the daughter,
I have taken the sister.

I will take the son as my
final offering to the serpent.

And underneath that
another picture in blood

of a fox's head.

- What is it, what's happening?

- Okay, we-
- You know, I appreciate

that this is really scary and gory,

but what's impressive is that we can read

that amount of handmanship given the fact

that it's been written in blood.

- And this person says
they don't have hands

or arms or something?
(Raphael laughs)

This makes me even-
- A serpent?

- A long thing to read, too in blood.

- The snakes-
- Real quick, so first of all,

Sylvester, you're not in The Seance Room

so you can't talk to Sylvester anymore.

You all see people, the whole
party is gathered around.

A couple of these cops are everywhere.

You see that there are-
- Hello, did everyone leave?

(all laughing)

Great, thanks for the heads-up, everybody.

I'll just stay here in the cell by myself.

- (laughs) Jesus.

- Gangie.
- What?

What do you want to say to me?

My accent has changed--

- I might say that.

If ever there was a moment to focus

on your professional duty
to me it would be now.

(dramatic instrumental music)

This contract is expiring,
if you know what I mean.

- So you want me to go gets...

- I want you to do the things that I want,

pay you the money to do.

- 'Cause I wanted to be
part of the group, you know?

- I ask Buckster a question.

And also, make him get the
little address book back

from the fake police, too
'cause that was my bad.

- Oh. (laughs)

That is also true, that
Daisy did give her book

to the fake police, so it'd be great

if you can get that back
from the fake police.

- Oh God, it's sneaky.

I'll sneak, I'll get it.

- And promise him something,

give him something nice for that.

Don't be stingy about that.

Give him something nice.
- Yeah, I'll also, I'll give-

- You can talk to me, I'm right here.

- Can you tell him, I'm preoccupied.

I can't really talk to him.
- I heard that.

- Oh my God, this guy. (laughs)

- I feel like Daisy's
particularly rude to Gangie.

I don't know why.

- I think I was, I didn't
know whether to trust you

and so that's why I was mean at first

and now I think it's 'cause I'm classist.

- Yeah, it does seem
like there's something

'cause you essentially told me to shut up

when I was talking so.

- Daisy rose from a lower class

so I think she's judgy about it.

- Distancing herself, too.
- Cool.

So you guys are all
down there in this room.

You see these cops that
Gangie has said are criminals.

Jeremy stands up and says, "All
right, everyone remain calm!

We have apprehended Sylvester Cross.

The m*rder scene upstairs
has been investigated."

And you see he looks, you hear there is a,

so I think most of you
that have rushed down here

are near a window along with Mrs. Molesly

who has her hand up on Gangie.

You see Jeremy goes, "Everyone be calm.

Everything is going to be all right!"

There is a tremendous crash of lightning.

(Brennan mimics lightning crash)

(thunder rumbles)

There's a scream.

You hear ghostly wailing
throughout Loam Hall.

(ghostly breath exhales)

And you see Mrs. Molesly
looks back and goes,

(shouts) "Oh dear, what a fright!"

And she grabs onto your hand, Gangie.

As she does so and you see
that all the police say,

"All right, everyone,
remain calm, remain calm!"

You guys know that time is of the essence.

Sam, time is of the essence.

You hear the clocks chime as
this lightning strikes outside.

Can you make an insight
check for me really quickly?

- (sighs) Brennan, we never
talk about this show's like,

this show and the issue of blood pressure.

(group laughing)
And we should, and we should.

- I have very low blood pressure

so putting it right in the perfect zone.

- I caught my tongue on my retainer.

- That is a 19.
- That's a 19?

The lightning crashes.
- I did.

- Mrs. Molesly screams.

The rest of the group here,
feels like Sylvester Cross

is using the powers of the
occult to m*rder people.

You get a 19 on your insight.

A couple of things with that.

Number one, Sylvester
Cross is being painted

to look like an occultist

so a couple things are happening here.

Sylvester Cross looks guilty

and everyone here has a reason
to believe in the occult.

You also hear these clocks
chiming as it gets to be 2:00 am.

An hour for you to go an
investigate the cellar?

It can't be possible.

Like, you know, like waiting an hour

for the elevator at 3:00 to go downstairs.

Sam, you're looking at the
watch your father gave you.

You're being conned and you don't like it.

"Time is money, here's both."

You're looking at the face of the watch.

When you first stepped into
the elevator to turn the key

do you remember that I
asked you to make a check?

Do you remember what that check was?

(dramatic instrumental music)

- When I first stepped into
the elevator to make a key.

- To put the key into the hole.

- To put the key in the hole.

- Oh, that was forever ago.
- Forever ago.

- I think you asked me, did you ask me

to make a perception check?

- I asked you to make a
sleight of hand check.

- A sleight of hand check.

Sleight of hand, time.

- [Brennan] And you rolled a 13.

- 1:00 am.

- Buckster is trapped in this moment.

You're looking at the face of your watch

and you're thinking about time

and Mrs. Molesly saying 3:00 am.

Or, she didn't say 3:00 am.

She just said, "It only goes down

to the cellar at three o'clock."

And you're thinking about
that sleight of hand check.

You're thinking about, there was something

about when you put the
key in and turned it

from off to on there was something weird.

- Oh my God, it's the position!

- It's the position
that I have to turn it.

It's the position, sorry,
I'll do this as Buckster.

So Buckster is looking
at his pocket watch.

He's hearing the voices in his head.

He's thinking about the term hand.

It's been in our hands all along.

The ability to go down into that basement

has been in our hands all along.

Daisy, Daisy.
- What?

- Three o'clock, it's not a time.

- [Sam And Rekha] It's a direction.

- You remember the teeth of
the key facing straight down

in the off position labeled off.

You turned it 90 degrees clockwise

for the teeth to be facing nine o'clock

where it is labeled on,

but there are two cardinal directions

that are unlabeled on the key.

You see these cops grinning.

You see the prophesy written on the wall.

There is something that has been said

that they are going to come for the son.

You see the panic in Jeremy's eyes.

Time is of the essence,
and Sylvester is still left

in the cellar, in the wine cellar.

You know how to get to the basement.

What do you all do in this moment?

- So I've told Daisy.

I think best as I can I signal
to the rest of our party.

I'm not exactly sure how I would do that

with so many people watching
'cause thieves' cant,

I could be communicating
with the criminals,

the cop criminals if I'm not careful.

- Yes.

- They might know thieves'
cant as well, yeah, for sure.

- [Ally] Definitely.

- And Daisy's close enough to me

to have shared this information?

- Yes, absolutely.

I'm gonna say that you're
all safe right now.

You're all in a little pod.

You can speak openly to each other.

- Okay, great. (clears throat)

g*ng, it's a direction.

Three o'clock is a direction.

That means we've got a key
to the basement right now.

We can go right now.
- Let's go!

Let's go.
- Yeah, let's get there.

- Lars, you look up and
see something as well.

You look up and see, there are four police

in the room right now.

Only five came in through the door.

You know that Mr. Banks,
the otter bartender before

talked about how the wine cellar

is somewhere in the kitchen wing.

If there is four police in here,

how many police are watching
Sylvester's door right now max?

- One.

- Okay, you guys can see that-
- We gotta go get him.

- Cool.
- Yeah.

- All right, awesome.

I'm gonna need everybody here

to roll initiative, Sylvester included.

- Hm.
(dramatic instrumental music)

- 21.

- 19.

- Daisy got a 21, Gangie got a 19.

- 18.

- For Sylvester, hell yes.

What did Buckster get?

- Three!

- What did Father Prescott get?

- Four.
- Four.

What did Lars get?

- 11.
- 11.

Awesome, cool.

You say this, Buckster.

You are, so again, it's weird

'cause there's not
active fighting right now

so it's up to you guys but you know

that if you get spotted, if they suspect

that you know something there
is these other fake police

in the room, it's extremely dangerous

but you know there's
something down in that cellar.

Daisy, you are first to act.

Buckster has just told you, three o'clock,

it's a position, not a time.

What do you do?

- Rosalind, come out here, do your thing!

- Everyone look at my whole butt!

And you see that she
flashes her whole butt.

You all have advantage on-
- I run.

- You run.
(Sylvan Sleuths laughing)

Everyone has advantage on stealth.

Everyone has advantage on stealth.

Go ahead and give me
a stealth roll, Daisy,

as you dart out of here.

- Okay, first one, nine
(dramatic instrumental music)

Okay, Daisy, you're by yourself.

- And we are in the ballroom
of the entrance wing right now,

I believe, yes, yes, yes.

Cool, cool, cool.
- But I get advantage, right?

- You get advantage on your stealth, yes.

- 24.
- Ooh, baby.

Daisy, that mouse's butt is
doing a world of good right now.

You are gone.
(Rekha laughing)

That's gonna be Gangie.

- For what?

Oh, stealth.

- Or do whatever you want to do,

whatever you're doing in
this moment, in this like-

- 25.
- 25 stealth, you're a shadow.

You're following Daisy out of
the room as fast as you can?

- Mm-hmm.
- Cool.

Sylvester, you hear the
strange moaning going on

in the house and you feel-
- Used to that.

- (laughs) Attention, you're
used to moaning in the house?

- And it's very strange.

- Yeah, not in your
room, not with a partner.

You're just used to having
roommates that are f*cking.

- Oh no, I'm used to
making that strange moan.

(group laughing)

Sylvester, you feel tension
mounting and you can-

- That happens when I
make the strange moans.

- Okay, you lose your turn.
- Okay, fine.

(all laughing)
- You're in the oubliette.

Whatever could have been your
action is instead replaced

by you making-
- Fantastic.

- You're just quipping to yourself.

- What, I'm gonna roll for bon mot.

- (laughs) Actually, go ahead and roll

just a flat charisma check
for me if you'd be so kind.

- Sure, sure, sure,
let's have a look here.

- Asinine.
- Can I?

Oh wait, no, nevermind.

- Do not bless this man.
- Four. (laughs)

- Oh no.

- Four, Brennan, he rolled a four.

- I rolled a four for charisma.

- Okay, so you make a sad
little joke to yourself

in your jail cell and it echoes around

in the wet room and you feel very sad.

(Rekha clapping)
(Brennan laughing)

- That's the most
satisfied I've ever been.

- That's incredible.

- Clean my pipe.

- Lars, that is your turn, my friend.

- I book it to the kitchen.

- Okay, go ahead and make a
stealth check with advantage.

And let me tell you this, you
do not have great stealth,

but I will tell you the passive perception

of these cops right now
that you are trying to beat

'cause there's a bigger chance

that you will fail here
than Daisy or Gangie.

The passive perception of these guards,

you are just trying to beat
a difficulty of 10 here.

You're just trying to beat difficulty 10.

- Okay, I have +2 so
it's an eight or higher.

- You need one of these two rolls.

- And I have advantage.

- You need one of two rolls
to be eight or higher.

Go ahead and roll.
- Okay, ready.

10!
- 10, hell yes, you beat it.

Great.
- We'll see if I crit

just in case, no, okay, yeah.
- Cool.

Lars, you duck out of here.

Lars, Gangie, and Daisy
are charging down the hall.

That is going to be the police.

I am gonna roll in the Box
of Doom a perception check.

It's gonna be, we're gonna call it

the average of, let me see.

This is to see if any of the police notice

that people are missing.

Buckster, yeah.
- This is before I've gone.

- This is before you've gone, yes.

- Cool, cool, cool.

- Did the police hear my jokes?

I hope so.

- Yeah, they thought they
sucked and they laughed at you.

- Because strange can mean
many things, did we all?

- I think officer whatever-
- We got it.

- Kitten Cat said, "Oh, I feel
bad for that man, he sucks."

(Rekha laughing)

- Officer, officer, officer?

- (laughs) Now for some-
- Oh, no. (chuckles)

- Here is the number.
(sinister instrumental music)

(die taps Box of Doom)

A natural four.

The police are completely clueless,

not knowing who to look for.

- They're talking too much
smack about Grant's bad joke.

- Sylvester's bad joke.

- Father Prescott, that
is going to be you.

- No.

- Can I rush out with everybody else?

- Yes, go ahead and give me a
stealth check with advantage.

- That's an eight, okay, one more, 19.

- Hell yeah, Father
Prescott, you are gone, baby.

(Sylvan Sleuth clapping)

Buckster, you, with the
key, are the last one to go.

You have a -2 to your dexterity.

- God damn it, you
should've given me the key.

- This is so poetic.

- I will say this, Raph,
you do have a bonus action

to grant somebody a die of
Bardic Inspiration on your turn,

and you go right before Buckster so-

- Oh yeah, yeah, yeah,
yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

I need to give him inspiration, yes, yes.

Buckster, I'm gonna leave you in a second,

but before I do, I want
you to know that you can do

whatever you put your
mind to and in Christ.

Wait, how does the verse go?

(all laughing)
- Oh no, oh no, oh no.

- Father, Brother, I want
to tell you, you are-

- I can do all things through
Christ who strengthens me.

- We can do all things through Christ.

- Lars says from beyond.
(all laughing)

- Father, I want you to know,

I think you're terrible at this.

And I think religion is a hoax

just as bad as any I've ever committed.

But in this moment, I really
wanna believe you this one.

- (laughs) All right, peace out.

I'll see you in a minute.
- Peace out?

- Peace out.
- Peace out?

- Peace, peace be with,
I'm switching it up.

- God is real, what's up?
- I'm cool, I'm cool.

- What does bless do for
me that advantage doesn't?

I roll a d4?

- Oh, you have a die
of Bardic Inspiration.

- Oh, I'm sorry.

- So go ahead and roll
the stealth check first.

You have a d6 that you
can add to the roll,

but you don't have to use it

until you actually roll the roll.

So you have advantage.

Go ahead and roll a stealth
check with advantage.

You're just trying to beat a 10.

(lively instrumental music)

- Cool, so that's a natural
20, should I roll again

in case I get a natural 20?
(Brennan laughing)

- Buckster.
- Bam!

- On a natural 20 you
are f*cking gone, my man.

You are f*cking gone.

And on a natural 20, not
only am I gonna do this

on a natural 20, you rush past.

All of you scoot out together.

Mrs. Molesly watches you all rush out,

but no one else sees you go.

You rush past the hall, you see the study

with the body of Squire
Badger dead on the ground.

All of you rush into the
kitchen wing together.

As you rush into the kitchen wing,

on that nat 20 stealth I'm
gonna say that Buckster,

you know that there is
still one police officer

in the kitchen where the
door to the cellar is

going down to the wine cellar.

The question is this, do you all want

to bum rush the kitchen together

or do some of you want to
go to the elevator first?

- I want to go to the elevator.

- Elevator as well.
- Kitchen, kitchen.

- [Brennan] Kitchen for Lars, cool.

- Yeah.
- Awesome.

So all of you rush in there.

In the kitchen wing as you
all run into the kitchen,

we're gonna keep it in
initiative order. (hums)

So the first to go is gonna be Daisy.

You rush down the hall and
jump into the elevator.

- Mm-hmm.
- Mm-hmm.

(dramatic instrumental music)

Hell yes, you rush into the
hall, jump into the elevator.

Next is Gangie.

Gangie does the same thing?
- Yes.

- Rush into the elevator.

Next up is Sylvester.

You hear approaching
footsteps up above you.

- Sylvester might try
one more nature check

to see if there's anything else

he can do with these mushrooms

'cause he doesn't have many other options.

- Yeah, well let me say this, yeah.

Go ahead and give me another nature check.

Yeah, go ahead and give
me another nature check.

(stirring instrumental music)

- 19 plus five is 24.
- Ooh, doctor!

Sylvester, I am going to allow you,

we're actually going to
come back to your turn.

We're going to come back to your turn.

You hear the steps up above.

Lars, it is your turn.

You rush into the kitchen,
see the cellar door

in the corner of the kitchen with a bunch

of these sacks of flour on
top of it weighing it down,

and you see one of these
policemen turn around,

turn to you and say, "Hello
there, Sergeant Vandenchomp.

Pleasure to see you, what
brings you to the kitchen?

Lars, it is your turn.

- I actually have always thought

about maybe joining the force.

Could I pick your brain for a moment?

And then I sock him.
(all laughing)

- Just a one-second pretense. (laughs)

- Yeah, just so I'm like talking to him

as I get close enough to be
like. (mimics blow landing)

- Incredible.

I'm gonna need Lars to
roll an attack roll,

and I'm also going to need
Sylvester on that 24 nature check

to kindly roll an attack roll as well.

- Ooh, yes.
(dramatic instrumental music)

- That's only a 10 on that attack roll.

- Cool, Sylvester, let me know

what you roll on your attack roll.

- Yes, yes, let's see.
- I'm gonna action surge.

- I was gonna ask-
- Use your primary,

oh good, Lars, you're gonna
use your action surge?

- Cool, go ahead and take another swing.

- I'm also here, can I help?

- You have to wait for your
turn to be able to do anything.

- Oh, I'm sorry, okay.
- No worries.

- 17.
- 17 is a hit, Lars.

Go ahead and roll damage.

- (gasps) Ooh, 13 damage.
- 13 damage from Lars.

Sylvester, let me just roll
your standard attack roll

for your unarmed strike.
- Unarmed strike?

- Yeah.
- 18 plus five, 23.

- Ooh!
- Oh my God.

I would like, so wait, Lars
dealt 13 points of damage.

Sylvester, just roll
your sneak attack damage

and let me know what you get.

- Uh, three.

- Lars, you deal 13
points of damage, right?

And Sylvester, you said you rolled three

on your sneak attack.

- If I'm reading these dice correctly.

I roll 2d6, correct?
- Yes, correct.

- Yes, three.
- Yes.

Well, I'm very happy to tell you

these guys have 15 hit points.
(Sam laughing)

Lars, you say, "I want
to pick your brain."

Rush in, boom, send this guy sailing.

Sylvester, down below you
are calculating the footsteps

where you know the stove to be.

You jam one of your metal
thieves' tools into the fungus

just in time to short-circuit the stove.

(mimics electricity buzzing)
The guy hits the top

of the stove from Lars'
punch and is electrocuted

and goes unconscious on top of the oven.

- Beautiful.
- Yo.

- Lars, you still have
an object interaction

and Sylvester-
- I move all these bags.

I move all these bags so fast.

- One sweep of your mighty
paw knocks all the bags off.

Sylvester, you still have your movement.

As you whip the bags
off, fling the doors open

Sylvester, you rush into the
kitchen from the oubliette.

- I hug you way too hard as
though we're partners, oh.

- Aw.
- Yes, yes, good dog.

(Rekha panting)
(group laughing)

- Buckster, that is your turn.

- I think I stop at the kitchen
here long enough to say,

"We gotta get going
people, time is money."

And I hold up the key to
sort of lure them to me

and then I race into the elevator myself.

- [Brennan] Hell yes.

Father Prescott, are you moving
into the elevator as well?

- Yeah, elevator, yeah.
- Cool.

I'm gonna say that we come out of combat.

All of you are in the elevator,

Buckster, you have the key in your hand.

- I look to everybody a
little boastfully saying,

"Watch this sh*t."

I put it in, I turn it
just so to three o'clock.

- You turn the key in the
opposite direction of on

to an unlabeled side of the lock.

(mimics motor rumbling) Elevator powers on

and the red and green up
and down buttons light up.

- Yes.
(Sam sighs)

Well, to hell we go.

- You press down (mimics
elevator motor humming)

and you descend to the final
unexplored wing of Loam Hall.

And that's all for this
week on Dimension 20.

Tune in next-

- That's where you're ending it?

(group laughing)

(Grant groans)

- Brennan, this episode was
maybe max an hour, 45 minutes.

- The doors open. (mimics
doors sliding open)

You look down the hall.

Gangie, you smell (sniffs)

all manner of mushrooms down there,

a wonderful secret mushroom garden.

You see these mushrooms
humming and glowing

with vibrant electricity.

- I'm gonna roll an investigation check.

- You see the tracks.

There are some that are very, very recent

which are cats and dogs.

- It would appear it's been raining.

- Cats and dogs.

This is why we can never
work together, Sylvester.

Two big egos-
- This is why, this is why?

- Two big egos do not a pair make.

And I spit in Sylvester's mouth.

(Brennan laughing)
- Hot.
