of the blind auditions."

Tonight, we're catching you up

on how our four superstar coaches

built their teams of 16 this season.

Yeah!

It'll give you the chance
to pick your favorites

and be ready
for next week's intense battles

where only the strongest survive.

...on what promises to be

the most exciting season
of "The Voice" yet.

Blake: This isn't some
amateur talent competition.

they want to work with and develop.

Cee Lo: I was really impressed.

Your vocal portion was... it was
very confident and swaggery.

First up, Bronx native Bryan Keith,

who wanted to step out

from his Grammy-winning father's shadow.

Daly: After a stellar performance

that turned all four chairs,

the coaches fought hard for Bryan.

Adam: I got to say, you know,

the first note that you sang,
I wanted to turn around,

and then, of course, they all fell like
dominoes. Everyone turned around.

But, oh, my God.
You are very special, my friend.

Wow. Thank you so much. Thank you.

Cee Lo: You got the range and the rasp,

and when it's the genuine article,

it's very, very effective.

I mean, that's why I pushed my
button for you, big brother.

Blake: We've heard so many
different singers come out here,

and they sound like different singers

when they go
for different parts of the song.

They change their tone.

You sound like the same guy

Adam: I would like to say
one more thing, which is like,

more than anyone
I've seen today, I got to say,

I'm dying to have you on my team,

and I'll be very upset if I don't.

Daly: Then Bryan had to make
the most important decision

of his life.

I listened to him sing,

and it's this intangible,

to just sing so beautifully.

to get some of these people, I guess.

Adam: Melanie is one of the most
unique people on the show.

I can't wait to help her
fully realize her vision.

Some people get out here and they
don't really have much of a vision,

but she's got one,

and that excites me.

Cee Lo: Good luck to Melanie.
I thought she was great.

I wish she'd have been with me, though.

I'm a little disappointed by that.

then he had to convince Nicole to pick him

over the other three coaches.

Adam: I'd just like to say

that's one of my favorite
renditions of that song,

and the reason why
all four of us turned around

is because as you were singing it,

it just kept getting better.

I am so proud that I turned around first.

Blake: Let me just say

that I'm probably in over my head here

as far as stylistically goes,

but there can't be
a half-second difference

between Cee Lo and Christina and
myself when we hit our button.

The only sizeable difference

was when I turned around before you.

[ Laughter ]

Oh, my goodness.

19-year-old Mackenzie Bourg

has overcome tragedy his entire life.

His fighting spirit led him to "The Voice"

and a spot on team Cee Lo.

Mackenzie: I had started
to get bad headaches

over a couple days,

so I checked into the urgent-care center.

They first said I had bronchitis,

but there were so many toxins
around my heart

that it caused it to fail.

Turned out I had viral myocarditis.

My heart is better, for the most part.

Now I have a passion for sharing
my gift with other people.
