[footsteps approaching]

Land sakes.
What are you kids doing up so late?

Do you have any idea what time it is?

[all in unison] No.

Well, it's 3:00 in the morning,

-which is way past your bedtime.
-[clock tolling]

First thing tomorrow, I'm going
to teach you kids how to tell time.

What's so important about telling time?

Well, telling time
comes in handy lots of ways.

Think of all the fun things you'd miss
if you didn't know when to be there.

Well, if it's okay with you, Granny,
I'm gonna skip it.

Telling time is for people who--

Who have nothing but time on their hands.

[both in unison]
We don't have time on our hands.

[chuckles]

That's just an old saying, kids.

You can skip the lesson
if you want, Daffy.

But don't forget,

there's another old saying about time.

It waits for no one.

Nighty night, kids. Pleasant dreams.

[door closes]

Ah. Ha!

Who does she think she's kidding?
"Time waits for no one."

That's the silliest thing I've ever heard.
[sighs]

So you see, kids,
the clock says it's 10:00.

[all] Hmm.

And every time the big hand moves
one full circle around the clock

that's one hour.

So...

now it's 11:00.

Hmm. I get it, Granny.

[chuckles] Of course you do.

You kids are so smart.

And to celebrate learning about time,

I think we should go out
and have a good time.

I know. I'm going
to take us all on a picnic in the park.

-[all in unison] Yeah!
-[Taz] Yeah, picnic! [laughs]

Let's all be ready to go and meet
by the front door in exactly one hour.

And when the big hand and the little hand
are both facing straight up,

what time will it be then?

[burps]

Twelve o'clock. Lunchtime.

You missed a really fun lesson, Daffy.

Yeah. Granny taught us
all sorts of stuff about how to tell time.

Well, it just so happens
that I learned something about time too.

-You did? What?
-You're wasting mine.

Playtime is the best time of all.

And can't you see
that I am right in the middle of it?

Come on, Bugs.

It's obvious that Daffy
doesn't have time to talk to us.

Oh, one last thing, Daffy.

-Granny's taking us on a picnic.
-At 12:00.

That's when the big hand
and the little hand

are both pointing straight up.

[giggling]

You're supposed to meet us
by the front door in one hour.

All right, all right already.
I'll be there.

But how are you gonna know
when an hour's up?

You didn't come to Granny's lesson.

That's easy. Every hour,
Granny's big grandfather clock

makes a big, loud noise.

[ticking, then gongs]

Now, step aside, please.

Can't you see I'm working on my swing?

Another one out of sight.

I lose more golf ba*ls that way.

Oh, well.

[stomach growls]

Oh, gee. I'm hungry.

Must be getting close to picnic time.

But I didn't hear the clock
make a gong. Oh, well.

I'll just head over
and see if they're waiting for me.

Hello? I'm ready for the picnic.

Hello?

I know. They're playing hide-and-seek.

Okay, I get it. Here I come.

I'm going to find you.

[thump]

Yoo-hoo! Anybody there?

Say, these kids are good hiders.

[stomach growls]

And all this hide-and-seek
is making me even hungrier.

[humming]

Better wash this off
before Granny sees it.

Hmm. I wonder how much laundry soap
you're supposed to use.

That ought to do it.

[rattling]

[timer dinging]

Ah. Nobody to fight with
over which show to watch.

Now this, I like.

[rattling]

[ringing]

- Hello?
-[man on phone] This is your lucky day.

Telling time isn't everything.

I mean, there's other things
just as important that I'm really good at.

Yeah. Like riding my tricycle
or washing my own clothes. Hmm.

That's odd.

Wow, what a dream. Granny was right.
