Eh, I bet if a really big wind came
you would fly, Petunia.

That's impossible.

-Nuh-uh.
-How do you know, Bugs?

Because one time I asked Granny

if I could make
a peanut-butter-and-jelly painting

on the living room rug,
and she said I could,

when pigs fly.

[all] Uh-oh.

[Granny giggles]

It always tickles so.

[babies panting]

[all] Granny, Granny, Granny!

Look, my carrot's growing a tooth.

That tooth doesn't belong
to your carrot, Bugs.

It doesn't?

No, sweetie.
That's one of your baby teeth.

It must have just gotten stuck
in the carrot when you took a bite

and popped right out.

You mean that's my tooth?

Oh, yeah, there it is.

You mean, "There it was."

And now you're going to grow
a brand-new permanent tooth

that you'll keep for the rest of your life
right in the same spot.

A permanent tooth?
You mean like the kind big kids have?

That's right.

Wow, Bugs!
I guess that means you're growing up.

Now that you mention it,
I am starting to feel a little mature.

What are you going to do
with your baby tooth, Bugs?

I don't know.
I haven't even thought about that yet.

I think you should make it into a necklace
and wear it around your neck

so everybody can see
what a big kid you are.

I have an even better idea.

And then it just came out,
right there in the carrot. Like magic.

Don't forget to put the tooth under
your pillow before you go to sleep, Bugs.

Under the pillow? What for?

For the tooth fairy.

Granny told us all about her.

You just put your tooth under the pillow,
and when you're asleep

the tooth fairy comes
and trades your tooth for money.

Okay, kids, time to go to sleep.

It's way past your bedtime.

Granny, can I have a carrot?

Lands sake, what ever for?

To make my baby teeth fall out,
so I can be a big kid

and get some money
from the tooth fairy. Like Bugs.

But ducks don't have teeth, Daffy.

Can't I grow some?

[laughs]

Well, it doesn't work
quite like that, dear.

Huh.

There, there. I know it doesn't seem fair,

but these things have a way
of working themselves out.

You'll see.

Nighty-night, kids.

Remember,
the tooth fairy will never show up

if you're all still awake.

[giggles]

Huh.

[grunts]

[gasps]

Hey, look what the tooth fairy left me.

[Daffy gasps]

[yawns]

[gasps]

[grumbling indistinctly]

Let me see, Taz.

Tooth fairy?

Yeah, the tooth fairy will come,

but first you have to wait
for the tooth to fall out.

Wait? Why wait?

Who said
you have to grow a tooth to lose one?

I'm gonna have a tooth
for the tooth fairy when she gets here.

Even if it isn't mine.

I'll be a big kid, one way or another.
They'll see.

[laughs]

Oh, Taz? Taz, old boy.

Where are you?
I have a surprise snack for you.

[Taz spinning]

-Snack?
-How about a nice caramel apple?

That gooey caramel
should have that tooth out in no time.

Then it'll be mine.

Corn on the cob?

Bubble gum?

[Taz chomping]

Spareribs?

Tractor tire?

[belches]

Mint?

[grumbles indistinctly]

Tooth fairy.

[laughs]

Hmph!

Are you ready for a big surprise?

[laughs]

Alrighty. But first you have
to close your eyes and count to 10.

One, two, four, 19...

-[chuckles]
-...four...

One slam of this door
and that tooth will come right out.

Ready or not, Taz,
here comes your surprise.

-Five...
-Huh?

...one, three and half, 19...

There's just gotta be a way
to get that tooth out.

How's the loose tooth doing, Taz?

-[grumbles indistinctly]
-Looks like it's ready to come out to me.

Here you go, big guy.

Make sure you keep it safe
until you put it under your pillow tonight

for the tooth fairy.

You never know when a tooth thief
might be hanging around.

The tooth fairy!
Why didn't I think of that before?

[Daffy laughs]

There's more than one way to get a tooth.

[toy squeaks]

Phew.

Tooth fairy! Tooth fairy! Mwah!

Shh! You'll wake everybody up.

[gasps]

Huh? What this?

That, my little friend, is an IOU.

It means that I owe you some money.
See you later, smiley.

Just like taking candy from a baby.

[Taz wailing]

-[door opens]
-Land sakes, kids,

what's going on in here?

Nothing.

Oh.

[gasps]

Daffy.

[chuckles nervously]

[sobbing]

But it's not fair!

I don't have teeth to lose
like the other kids.

I wanna grow up and be a big kid too.

And I want a quarter like Bugs.

Well, stealing certainly isn't the answer.

Besides, soon you'll have special signs
that show that you're growing up too.

Like what?

-Like molting.
-Molting?

Hey, that's right!
I forgot all about molting.

What's molting?

One day, when you grow up some more,
you'll lose all of your baby feathers

and permanent ones
will grow in their place.

What happens in between?

It all happens at the same time.

Oh. Thank goodness.

And if you behave like a good little duck

you may even be visited
by the feather fairy.

There's a feather fairy?

Oh, my, yes.
He comes in the middle of the night

just like the tooth fairy,
and leaves money for little ducks

who put feathers under their pillows.

But since molting season is a ways off,
you can borrow this in the meantime.

-[toy bell rings]
-Come on, everybody.

What are you waiting for?

Get back in bed
so we can turn off the lights.

[babies laugh and chatter]

The feather fairy is just waiting
to come and visit me,

and, boy, is he gonna be surprised

when he sees
what a big kid I'm turning into.

[snoring]
