Hey guys! Wanna see my car
turn into a submarine?

It's music!

Pretty music!

And it's coming from the front yard!

[all gasping]

[all cheering]

Granny!

-Look!
-A humongous ice cream!

-Can we go look?
-Can we?

I don't know, it is in the street.

Can you tell me our rule
about the street, little ones?

[all] You can stand on your head,

you can stand on your feet,

you can stand on the curb,
but not in the street!

All right then, go and have a look!

[all cheering]

-Wow! Cool! What flavor is it?
-It's gigantic!

[Lola] Ooh!

Ice cream!

Not ice cream.

Sorry, little fella, my truck
isn't actually made of ice cream.

[all groaning]

But it is full of ice-creamy goodness,
because I'm the ice cream man!

[all] Wow! Yay! Oh, boy, oh, boy!
Ice cream! Ice cream!

The ice cream man!

Wow, I've never met
a real superhero before.

So, are you gonna give
us some ice cream?

I just might. But I can only give you
ice cream if you give me a quarter.

[all] What's a quarter?

A quarter, my pint-sized pals,

is just about the niftiest kind
of money there is!

Nickels are neat, too.

Five pennies are the same as one nickel.

And five nickels is the same
as one quarter.

[all] Ooh!

Now dimes are smaller,

but they're worth twice
as much as nickels!

One dime is the same as ten pennies!

With two dimes, you only need
one nickel to equal a quarter!

And a penny sure is pretty,
but if you wanna buy an ice cream,

you're gonna need a bunch.

It takes 25 pennies
just to make one quarter.

-Wow!
-[all chattering]

Oh, neato, I want a quarter right now.

But Mr. Ice Cream Man,
we don't have any quarters!

Or nickels.

Or dimes.

Or any pennies.

We've got nothing, all right.
Zero! Zip! Bupkis!

Well...

[humming]

I'll tell you what,
I'll stop back by in a little while.

I got a hunch you kids might have
some money by then.

[ice cream truck music
playing over speakers]

Granny, can I have a quarter, please?

[all] Me too!

Taz too! [grumbles indistinctly]

Oh, gracious me. That's a lot of quarters!

And just like the ice cream man wants
something in exchange for his goodies,

I want something in exchange
for my quarters.

Twenty-five pennies?

Oh. No, dear.
I want you to earn your money

by doing chores.

[both] Huh?

If you little ones help me with the things
like dusting and sweeping,

I'll give you all an allowance:
one quarter each, once a week.

A whole quarter!

Every week!

That means ice cream every week!

Woo-hoo! We're rich! We're filthy rich!

Granny, you've got yourself a deal.

[upbeat music playing]

[sneezes]

Oof.

[both shouting]

Enjoy your quarters,
my hard-working little ones.

You've earned them.

Thank you, Granny!

[all] We've got quarters!

And I've got ice cream!

-Yay! Ice cream! Yummy!
-[all chattering]

Oh, boy, ice cream, ice cream.

[all] Mm.

Mm!

Nothing like a little ice cream after
a hard day's work, eh, Petun--? [shouts]

Don't just sit there, run!
The ice cream man's getting away.

I'm not buying an ice cream.

[all] You're not?

Mm-mm. I'm gonna save my quarters instead.

One a week until I've got,
like, a bazillion!

And then, I'm gonna buy
something really special.

What's more special than ice cream?

I don't know. But if you can buy
that with one quarter,

who knows what kind of cool stuff
you can buy with a bazillion of them?

So, are you guys gonna save
your money next time too?

Saving a boring old quarter for tomorrow,
instead of eating ice cream today?

[laughing]
That's the silliest thing I've ever heard!

I've got a brand new treat today,
my itty-bitty buddies.

Introducing the octuple-scoop,
quadruple-dip, mega sundae

with sprinkles!

[all] ooh!

One, please.

Sorry, little guy,
but one quarter isn't enough.

The octuple-scoop, quadruple-dip,
mega sundae with sprinkles

is worth three quarters.

That's 25 cents plus 25 cents

plus another 25 cents,
making 75 cents in all.

Three whole quarters?

I don't have that many!

None of us do.

[crying]

I got no money!

-[Petunia] One, please.
-[all gasping]

Alrighty, miss. That'll be three quarters.

One, two, three quarters.

Twenty-five cents, plus 25 cents

makes 75 cents.

Just look at all that money.
You've been saving, haven't you?
