Welcome back to another thrilling episode
of "Dimension 20: Fantasy
High Junior Year."
I'm your humble Dungeon Master, everybody.

our Intrepid Heroes.

- Last we left off,
our Intrepid Heroes were racing
over the skies of Elmville,
storms wracking the Solisian countryside
as Cassandra/the Nightmare King
had been summoned back as
part of a divine ritual
to re-Ankarnate Porter Cliffbreaker
as a new god of
rage, wrath, w*r, and ruin.
Our wonderful prophet of Cassandra,
seeing her goddess,
brought to bear to conceal this ritual
with some clever divine intervention,
not on her part,
but on the part of her
wizard-made simulacrum
made by one Adaine Abernant
whispered, "Blimey," into a GoPro
strapped to a vulture.
And was-
- Whispered,
"I don't think you heard me."
- I don't think you heard me.
- "Blimey,"
was to the ether,
then turned to the camera and said,
"I don't think you heard me.
Blimey."
- Blimey.
[players laugh]
- A ray of lightning shot
out of the mouth of this god
after a ruinous combat
where dragons were dropping from the sky
as Fig Faeth rode across her
solar Daymare, Gerard Neigh,
to smite Grandmama Blue
Dragon from the stormy skies
as Fabian ran an election
and locked down 300 votes.
- We stopped the steal.
- We stopped the steal, folks.
[players laugh]
- Oh my god!
- We stopped the steal!
- Blimey, we did!
- Blimey!
For the new student body president.
By the way, bear in mind
that in addition to all this
stopping the apocalypse stuff,
Kristen Applebees might be class president
in her senior year.
- God, that'd be so cool!
- [Emily] My president.
- We got the Cloud Rider
Engine back up and running.
Riz was running the cannon
deck along with Eugenia Shadow.
Fabian got a brand new Ghost Step tattoo.
- And then I lost it.
It ran away.
- It ran away somewhere else?
- Hiding on my body.

- Between your shoulder blades.
- In between your shoulder blades,
a little ghost with feet running back.
- Mid final battle, Fabian
is just naked in a mirror,
being like, "Where is it?"

I'll come out as soon as I find it!

- And in a proof that the
dice firmly are not on my side
as a Dungeon Master, but
are on the player's side,
Cassandra intervened and opened wide
her stormy mouth,
that Seacaster Manor might fly through
into skies wracked by rage and ruin,
which is where we now return.
Elmville ain't looking so hot, g*ng.
The Bad Kids have come back
and it is about,
I would say- go ahead, actually,
roll a d10 for me
whoever wants to.
- Siobhan should do it.
Oh, wait.
- Seems like Murph's already-
- You guys want me to get it?
- Yeah.
- I got it.

It's a seven.
- Okay.
It is 10:20 PM
as you arrive back in Elmville.
You know that the election
concludes at midnight.
As the ship sails back in,
many of you are injured,
damage has occurred.
Seacaster Manor, thankfully, intact still.
But Gorgug, as you fly it back in,
you see Elmville stretching out,
you see the cratered hole back
in the Seacaster Manor estate
where the manor would go.
But you still are flying a ship.
Now, I will say the Cloud Rider Engine
doesn't make this a flying ship, per se.
So without vapor underneath you,
you are kind of coming in
for a controlled landing
and will have to pick
somewhere in Elmville to land.
- Fabian, do you have a place
that you were hoping to live?
- What?
- A place
you're hoping to live?
- Well, I mean, we've got some time.
We're doing all right.
- We're coasting, baby!
[players laugh]
- We can't put it back in the hole.

near the Strongtower Luxury Apartments
so we can be neighbors.

crash into the gymnasium.

- Onto to the Bloodrush field.
- Wow, you're gonna have such
a short commute to school.
It's gonna be awesome, guys.
- We move slowly but surely
towards the Aguefort gymnasium.
Kristen, feeling the sudden absence of K2-
I will also say I read
the rules for simulacra
and K2, it's very clear
that everything about what
happened was totally above board.
So I will ask you here for this.
With K2 having been
[imitates sizzling] vaporized
by the deity,
do you think, in this moment,
communicating with your
simulacrum as it vanishes,
do you think you would've asked
for time, allies, equipment,
or do you think you would wish
that K2 would not vanish from this realm?
[players laugh]
- I can't believe you put
that back on the table.
- I know which one I want!
[players laugh]
- Truly, I went home in a fugue state
feeling as though I was blackout
drunk after that episode.
- For sure.
- And I was sitting with it,
and narratively, I
actually think that Kristen
was really loving feeling
like she had a sister.
- [Brennan] Yeah.
- And was honestly probably really sad
to see K2,
who didn't know what she was doing,
commune with a god that was
not hers and get vaporized.
- Yes.
- Equipment.
[players laugh]
- So I think that she
would want equipment.
[players laugh]
- I'm kidding. I'm just joking.
- I think she would want K2 or allies.
- I understand.
So the Divine Intervention
allows you to reenter Elmville.
I think, in this moment,
it is basically a decision
between whether you retain that simulacrum
so that it is not destroyed upon reentry
or whether you want, effectively,
that scattered energy
to teleport some people
here, like to your aid.
However, I will say
that this is just about
this magical divine intervention.
So it's not beyond your ability
to use this time carefully
as you sail back to the gym.
So there's one or the
other of these things
that you want to do the old-fashioned way.
You also have that ability now.
I will let you marinate on that choice
as the ship begins to come back in.
You're landing over the school grounds
and I think Seacaster Manor.
Fabian, I think your house is just in the,
like, just sort of destroys
a massive field out by
the Bloodrush Stadium,
and now you live at school.
- Yeah!

- As Seacaster Manor
lands, [imitates impact]
it is impossible not to notice.
And as you land sort of
within sight of the gymnasium,
Jawbone, Ragh, Mazey are all
here gathered around as well.
If there are enemy forces
here at the school,
you have almost definitively been spotted
as students begin to pour out of the ship.
- Oh, as the students run out,
can I look for the artificer students?
- Yes.
You see Unit goes [babbles]

[Brennan babbles]
[tense music]

I've really enjoyed being in school
with you this year and...

[music stops abruptly]

[Murph screams]

- [Brennan] Are we gonna be able-

- That wasn't the weirdest
thing that happened.

and basically packs up a duffle bag.
Mazey goes, "So the
polls close at midnight
but this is already so
bad, whatever's happening."
- Yeah.
- And you guys see,
you hear screams,
it sounds like the sounds of screams,
fire, sirens off in the town.
You hear g*nshots just randomly
from other neighborhoods.
You can feel your blood
heating up in your body.
- Okay. So there are
little rituals happening.
- Yeah.
- It's rage-fest
- The temperature right now in Elmville
is about like 107 degrees Fahrenheit.
Muggy and humid and f*cking nasty here.
The sky, slow moving lightning [slurps]
crawls over the sky around you
as everything is cast in this
dull, red, ember-like light.
Mazey says, "I'm only allowed
to count the votes at midnight.
So it's like 10:30 right now.
But also, I don't know
if we're safe right here
in front of the gym or not,
but polls don't close until midnight.
I don't know what they need."
- Where do you need to
be to count the votes?
Can you do it anywhere?
- All the votes are
delivered to the gymnasium.
- Okay. Gotta be in the gym.
- Okay.
- Great.
- But it has to be at midnight.
So for now-
- What's a short rest?
Do we have enough time to
go into Leo's Tiny Hut?
- You do! An hour is a short rest.
- Would we get some spell
slots back a little bit?
- You could heal.

- I look like I'd had
two hands in toasters.
[players laugh]
- Yeah.

So start mechanically doing that.
You run out.
Kristen, as you vanish into it,
you can see the stormy haze of your magic,
twilight shards, all that stuff
begins to move around and
create the tiny hut around you,
and just in the nick of time
you see that the gym
crackles with red light
and hundreds of shatter-stars
begin to move out of the
gym, out into the town.
- Can we have taken some
of our allies with us
from the boat?
- Yes.
I mean, so of the allies,
Mazey, Jawbone and Ragh were
all right there with you.
You see Ragh looks out
as you're going in there
and Ragh is uninjured and says,
"I'm just worried about
everyone at Mordred.
Should I try to go for my mom
or anything else like that?"
- Yeah.
We don't want anything bad
to happen to them. - Jawbone,
you should go as well.
- He says, "Okay."
He gives you the duffle bag of votes,
and Mazey is holding
onto it as well. And then
you see that Jawbone and
Ragh says, "All right,
my car's parked in the
teacher parking lot.
Let's go.
Oh sh*t! No, I drove to Seacaster!
Okay, we'll get the bus!"
And you see-
- What?
- We'll get on the bus.
- Do you wanna take the Hangman?
- The Hangman says, "Sire,
I do not wish to transport
Jawbone and Ragh.
I wish to stay by your side!"
- I'm worried about Ragh's mom!
- So am I, but they're really fast!
- But we're gonna make them take the bus?
- A werewolf and a barbarian?
They're fast as hell!
- They said they're gonna take the bus,
They're not gonna run!
[Murph sighs]
Could you guys run?
- You see Jawbone looks over and says,
"Ragh, we gotta do it."
And you see Jawbone
assumes his full wolf form.

- Jawbone says, "Gotta run!

Ragh is a little bit
afraid of this kinda magic
and covers the bottom of his face
so he can't see the ground
and just stays standing
and just Magneto zooms off into the sky.
Mazey stays with you in the hut.

so I had it split up.

- But what I
would like to do is use this piece
of the ground here as cover,
and essentially I want to-
I'm not gonna have a bonus
action, so I can't hide,
but what I would like
to do is set myself up
in such a way that, from
Kipperlilly's vantage point,
she has to use a melee attack.
And then, I would like
to prepare a reaction
to cast a spell.
- Okay.
- So I make it look like
I'm going up to hide.
- Okay.
- But my feet
are a little bit visible
behind this thing at a corner.
I'm like-
- Gotcha.
So you're gonna Misty
Step to get to a place
where she can see you.
- [Murph] She can see me.
- But there's no ability to fire on you
at range.
- Correct.

but she knows where I am.

and basically, from where
she's been firing from,
she has to get down into melee with you-

And then you're preparing
a melee attack, correct?
- I'm preparing a spell.

You jump down there and prepare.
You hack into a position
where one of the twisting chunks of floor
is potentially going to
twist and crush your chest
into the ground to get into this position,
hoping that your timing is just right
for Kipperlilly to show up.

- Figueroth Faeth, that is your turn.
- Okay, does it look like everyone here,
does it look like...
So we're kind of embracing the fire.
- [Brennan] Mm-hmm.
- Does it look like they're just worried
about the difficult terrain,
or are some of them going like, "Ow!"
from the flames?
- You don't see any of them
looking particularly chuffed
about the massive lava underneath them.
- Okay, then I think with a 20 foot-
I think with a Fireball,
I can get everyone.
- Okay.

- [Ally] Get that Concentration out!
[tense music]
- [Brennan] That is everybody there.
- Yeah!
- That is correct.

[tense music continues]

I think I grease up the
wheels of the skateboard.

hear Ragh's voice say,

We are gonna roll. I'm
gonna roll Box of Doom
just for the drama.
- These your saving throws for the fire?

This is not saving throws
because- Fig will be
outta Counterspell range
and this Fireball is gonna
hit a huge cluster of enemies.
That being said, Porter's gonna
get an attack of opportunity
and he might, if he rolls well,
be able to knock Fig out
before she can cast the spell.
[tense music continues]
[die rolling]
That's a 19 on the die.
- [Lou] Okay.
- I don't even think-
- He's got like a 30 to attack.
- ...either Shield, Cutting Words.
None of it will do anything.
- So we're just gonna roll damage
and see what he comes up with.
- I used my reaction.
- Is this his attack
that does normal damage
or his force damage attack?
- This is his force damage attack.
How many hit points is Fig at right now?
- 36.
- [Brennan] 36. Okay.
[dice rattling]
- Hang in there, Fig!
[tense music continues]
[dice rolling]
- Sounds like d4s.
[dice rolling]
- Yeah, it's just a bunch of d4s.
- Calling it, it's 6d4.
That's gonna be four or five damage.
[players chuckle]
- Seven, eight, nine damage.
- 31 points of damage to Figueroth Faeth.
[Emily groans]

[Brennan laughs]

You, boom, feel the
force damage of the mace.

You feel the maul hit your back
and the blood.
It's so much pure force
that you can feel your blood carbonize
and turn into rubies in your body
as you [imitates splash] hit the lava.
- You don't know her like I do.
[Brennan exhale angrily]

- As you hit the lava [imitates splash]
it covers your face,
feeling like a warm bath.
And you see a face of a
beautiful woman in radiant light,
her body reconstituting.
She looks at you.
Am I at long last being
recalled to the world I knew?
- Yeah, we need you again.
[tense music]
- There are those calling me
who claim me.
I cannot yet tell
what purpose I am called to serve.
- Don't listen to them.

- She smiles [exhales]

- You see Mary Ann looks,

Her strawberry bursts
into flame and she goes,

[players laugh]
- Got that dog in her!

- [Brennan] Mary Ann looks into flame
and is like, "f*ck no!"
- [Emily] That dog is a Squishmallow.

Buddy's gotta roll Dex.
Buddy does not have great Dex.
[intense music]

He takes a full 45 Fire.
That is a 22 DC Concentration check,
which means he needs a

[intense music continues]

[Siobhan groans]

And then the other one,

his feet getting burned.
[Murph laughs]
The fear of his own demise
absolutely excruciating.
And as he drops into the lava pit,
he makes eye contact with me,
and I say,
"I was Fig all along.
I was in your f*cking dreams.
I was outside your f*cking window.
I made the 'Complicated Women' podcast."
[players laugh]
- You made a whole podcast?
[players laugh]
That podcast is like three years old!
[Emily laughs]
- I've been waiting for
the moment to do it.
It's been a long con.

[players laugh]

I barely understand!
And he falls-
- Hey, Ruben.
There's a place for you in Hell.

[imitates woosh of flame]
You see Ruben falling [wails]

And lands in the middle
of a huge polka band
as Rip goes, "Hell yeah!"
- I want him to have to just spend
the rest of his life looping cords.
[players laugh]
- Rip goes, "All right, man.
Put the stingers in the bin.
Get 'em in the bed."
Ruben goes, "No!

No!"
Just looping very calmly.
[shrieking] No!
No!
I'm being mobbed for autographs!
I'm being mobbed!
[players laugh]
You have sucked Ruben straight to Hell.
Both Jaces, Mary Ann, Buddy,
every single one of
them failed their saves,
five in a row.
And as Buddy loses Concentration,
appearing at the back of
the gym is a ballot box
that comes out of the Banishment spell.
- Oh!
- Oh!
- Oh!

are giving me a heart attack!
