2 zoomd today we're going to show you

how to make a bean Mosaic this zoomd was

sent to us by Rebecca D in midford

Massachusetts to make this you'll need

glue and lots of beans the more

different shapes colors and sizes the

better then you'll need a picture from a

magazine or a drawing I'm using a blown

up photo copy of

myself I think it's cool how they can

make it from this little tiny picture to

this big

one then lay it on a flat surface and

begin

gluing for large areas of the same color

place a thin layer of glue and put on

the

beans I think it's a good idea to like

use your finger spread it around kind of

like

coloring you don't want to go out of the

lines then put on the beans what I think

is really interesting is that you can

take from my hair that's brown to I

could say make me a

blondie so I like to do is just pour on

the

beans spread them

around then take them off and then for

smaller details you can use one

bean and put on a little bit of glue on

it and put it in its

place

okay since we have eyes there's two of

two eyes so we'll need two

beans then glue your completed Bean

Mosaic to a piece of cardboard and cut

it out in the shape of your head so it

look like

this pretty cool huh see if you can

guess who these guys

sent us these instructions to build a

spool

racer all you need are some

spools toothpicks pencils metal washers

rubber bands and tape the first thing

you have to do is put a rubber band

through the middle of your spool right

right through this hole and since it's

really hard to get through what I do is

put the rubber band on a toothpick like

this H oh there we go we got it through

did you still have it on the other side

all right good yep cool now you put a

toothpick through one

end and on the other end you put a

pencil there you go like

that now that's kind of loose so you

probably should double it maybe yeah

wrap it around the pencil twice so we'll

just put this on like this yeah all

right then all right go the next part

sure okay now to get your spool Razer to

go faster you snap off the ends of your

toothpick so it's

right even with the ends of the

pool like

that okay then you have to tape it down

so it'll be sturdy so it doesn't go

flying off in the middle you have to

start all over

again there you go okay now what you do

is you hold the rubber band on one side

and take out the pencil because you have

to put the washer on now so it'll go

more smooth

okay grab the pencil and put it back in

okay and double

it

okay want to do the honors okay now you

just wind it up until it comes back to

you go

go yay all right here we go let's see

that's what we put our camera on it

broke a couple times we taped it back

sent us this really cool water trick

first take your plastic

baggie and fill it with

water

then let out most of the air and twist

it

around take a pencil make sure that

yours is

sharp and poke it through the plastic

baggie as you can see no water comes out

you can even go farther and poke it

through the other

side when you think about it it does

actually make perfect

sense the pencil is blocking the water

from

escaping try this with other bags and

see if it works the same you can even do

it with a balloon and a skewer take the

skewer and poke it through the top of a

balloon and

then get to the very

bottom and poke it through there come

on it doesn't pop pretty cool

3 I guess it was dropped the wrong way

because when it hit the egg rolled

out it was supposed to land like this

but instead it landed like

[Music]

that and it just

broke here's a challenge called the egg

drop the basic idea is to build a

structure that will protect an egg from

breaking when dropped from a height of

about two stories

here are the rules you're allowed to use

75 straws and you have to use every

single

one you're given 2 m of

tape or 78 in and none of the adhesive

can touch the egg you're given one egg

and you have to be able to see at least

one quar size piece of the egg why don't

we take this out and then take the egg

out and then we can slide the egg in

what I'm trying to do is have this

become in a big box of straws

so when it

tips the egg hardly Falls we're making a

box we decided to build it this way

because it would be a support for the

egg for it to hold in here so when it

hit the ground it would have a shock

absorber this is a triangle design a

square has too many openings but a

triangle if you put them all together

there are less space in between each of

them this is flarity the egg what we're

going to do here is put him inside this

box attach him with straws which will

make him shock absorbent hopefully this

will fall down avoiding the ground and

it'll just go like this Clarity will be

happy as a clam in mud we call this

design the egg expl*si*n here's the egg

and there's actually like a cube in here

which is pretty much covered up now but

then through it we stuck lots of

different straws and this also worked

really well because we don't really use

a lot of tape they can just poke through

and they'll be

secured what might go wrong here is all

the straws might fall out like that

yep we're hoping we get more

padding around the

egg you ready 1 2

3 it survived it fell and it landed yeah

it landed like here and we thought it

was going to land on the bottom and it

didn't and we're very thankful it was a

very good design it worked

n the outside frame kept the egg and the

stuff around it from actually hitting

the ground so all the straws around it

absorbed all the shock leaving the egg

unbroken

expl*si*n it work worked really well

that when it landed even if it rolled it

was like had full support all the way

around so that it was really balanced

oh it sort of worked but it kind of fell

apart out of 14 eggs that were dropped

only three broke and that came to a

total of 21% that didn't make
