zoomd today we're going to make swirly

tie-dye shirts sent to us from Randall G

of Dorchester Massachusetts what you

need is a t-shirt soaked in cold water a

pipe tin some rubber gloves to keep from

getting

messy um some plastic cups and some dye

the first thing you do is you take your

shirt and you spread it on top of your

table like

this then you pinch the middle

and you swirl it around and try to keep

it like

down like

that there and with the rest of it you

just kind of Pat it around the sides

keep it looking

nice like

so take your pie

tin and you put your

shirt inside

like

so it should look like this try to keep

it

flat now you make your dye following the

directions on the back of the box I

already have mine made now you take your

plastic cups and you dip into the color

that you want and you make it like

little pie

slices like like

that and then like

this like

this like that there you go then you do

the same thing with that but first you

drain it so that stuff comes

out

there

now you do the same thing with this

kind

purple and you do

that I'm using purple and red but you

can use like a lot of colors a lot of

different colors

like purple

and purple and

yellow blue and red a lot of colors

pretty cool and then you drain it

again there you go you do the same thing

and you turn it over and do the same

exact thing you just

did

yeah doesn't look all that good

but it will look great once you open

it just like that that is a lot of

diales what is wrong with

it and then you do the same

red then you pick it

up and you squeeze it don't twist it if

together and it doesn't look quite right

keeper um this is the drum I

keep the name of it is South White

Eagle the the hide part is made out of

elide and the wood underneath the hide

Cedar sometimes when we go to apalo

maybe we'll be asked to go and

traditionally we'll be asked

traditionally with the p of

tobacco you got

to I would take it to my parents and we

would talk it over and we have to

consider like if we have enough gas and

if there's other things that might be

conflicting with that and then we'll

probably go being a drum keeper has a

lot of responsibilities it means taking

care of the drum and making sure that

others treat it the way it's to be

treated before we start singing at the

Pao we have to do pipe ceremonies and

pray for the drum but the pipe

ceremonies aren't supposed to be

videotaped or recorded So if you want to

see the pipe ceremonies you're very

welcome to come to the pot

wall Apollo to me is a social Gathering

between family and

friends there is a strong sense of

togetherness at PA's everybody dancing

and having fun and talking together and

it's like one big

family the responsibility of being a

drum keeper is enormous but there many

people that give me strength and I'm

proud to be

one the peanut roll race from Becky and

Patty C in Stoddard New Hampshire and to

start off our peanut roll Race

Championship we have the great and

amazing Zoe and

lenise all right

okay oh that was

wicked that was awesome that was like

the best one today we're going to show

you how to make a film kister rocket

like that

one Megan s and Lee M of College Station

Arkansas sent in this Zoom saai you'll

need construction

paper um

scissors

tape empty film canisters baking soda

vinegar and some toilet paper first take

your empty film canister and the piece

of construction paper and take the short

way

and make it so there's about half of it

left so tape it first

okay just like that thank you Jared

you're welcome and then you wrap it

around only once and then you cut off

the

remains so that it's

light remember

recycle okay then you tape it

down all the way up to the STP that

would probably work better like quicker

that right just one more

piece all righty okay and when you tape

it it should be about halfway up the

canister so you'll have something to

hold when you're setting it off cuz you

need to go really fast yeah all right

the body's done okay now you take your

extra paper from left that's left over

and you cut out a circle cuz we're going

to be making the new scon and the circle

doesn't have to be perfect but just

don't make it a rectangle or something

you

know should be about this size then you

cut straight down to about the middle so

there's a slit in it like

that and then to make your nose you just

cross them and pull so that you have a

little cone then you tape it down as

always so that makes it sturdy and then

you

place the nose on top of the

body and you tape it

down like that so it'll stick okay it's

not too pretty but okay so then take two

squares of toilet paper and and then

take some baking soda and pour it not

too much

but a good amount is that good that's

good then you fold up the two corners

diagonal

like that and then you scrunch it

up and you put it

into the film

canister and then here's the really fast

part okay you take your vinegar and you

put it in 3/4 of the way and it's better

if you have a partner because it's it's

it might

explode here we

go W that was a good one sometimes

they're kind of Duds which they don't

fly too much but what happens inside is

the vinegar and the baking soda have a

chemical reaction it's weird um and it

makes carbon dioxide the air we breathe

out and that puts a whole lot of

pressure inside this so the bottom pops

off which makes it

Fly

who maybe if we put the baking soda in

without the toilet paper see if that

does

no okay you want to try it again sure

let's put like a little bit of vinegar

in a little bit of

everything maybe we should Shake It Up

works you could do this if you have a

hands I don't think it's going to

me I don't have one cuz my life is all

happened to me was when I was sitting by

the fence by my pool and a bird pooped

on my head

boiling Oil Deep Fat fry food and eat

plump Pig said mysteriously and floated

away at first the inhabitants fried

trees dirt and rocks these did not taste

good next they tried sneakers and

pillows these tasted better not good

enough what should we fry they said

while sitting around watching the NFL in

the androl football league suddenly a

football accidentally was thrown into

the pit of boiling oil

Kaboom the old pig skin fried up into a

giant pork grind it smelled good this

this is how salty pork grinds were

invented soon people were eating salty

pork grinds all the time especially when

watching football the

zops my most embarrassing moment is last

year when I spilled milk on on my
