then i run toward that new player and

try to tag him before he has time to

call another player's fruit

hi my name is nick i'm 13 years old and

i like to make stuff out of cardboard

like my corrugated cardboard chairs

i built this crusher to

test the strength of the cardboard

i'm testing a nine inch piece of

cardboard and how much weight weighting

can hold

that's two pounds that's four pounds

okay that's six might want to put them

one at a time now

oh gosh

to make the chair i first looked at

photos of other chairs but then decided

to ignore them so i can come up with a

dry or original design

oh i know what i'm gonna do i have a

good one

my first drawings were

cool looking but would fall apart too

easily

my dad helps

he's an architect and i think it

actually could hold up

sadly i haven't desire for a really cool

chair that works

now i'm making a half scale drawing

which i'll need to make the chair and

determine how much cardboard i'm gonna

need to get this is the biggest sheet

that the store has

it had to be flat

so it can support more weight

and be easier to cut

from the half scale drive i make a

template by doubling the measurements

and it has to be very precise so the

pieces fit together right

it takes about 20 minutes to do each

piece

one down four to go

there's 13 pieces all together five

vertical supports and eight cross pieces

yes

well i can make a cardboard table a

cardboard room a cardboard house

of course that might be a lot of cutting

waiter waiters there's a fly in my soup

keep your voice down or everyone will

want one

today on cafe zoom we're going to show

you how to make some cool looking fruit

sculptures

first up is this tasty bug from 1dp into

clv of maywood california

take an apple and cut it and core it

make sure you wash the apple and all the

other fruits you're going to use for

your sculpture

this will be your bug's body

then using a toothpick

attach a grate to be the bug's head

and if you want to eat it later make

sure to take the toothpicks out first

then using peanut butter

you just thought some on different

places

attach raisins

see the peanut butter works like glue

it kind of attaches everything to the

fruit

but i'm sure it tastes much better than

glue

looks like a cute little ladybug

and put on two more dots for the eyes

put them right there

then

break the toothpick in half

and use it for the antennas

and there he is

wendy and josie i'll call this a buggy

feast isn't it cute

next up is an apple carousel sent in by

rachel l of san jose california

wash an apple

and cut it in half and core it

then cut three straws in half

so you have six pieces

attach the pieces to the two apples

make sure you get them in straight

if they're slanted they won't go into

the other apple right

and then take the other side

push it in the right places

and squeeze

there it is it looks like a carousel

then

put some peanut butter on the back of

animal crackers

i love the animal crackers they're so

cute

and put them onto the straw

a rhino

you put the other animal on

you do this all the way around

and you have a carousel

isn't that cute

and here's another apple treat from

lauren w of st charles missouri take two

wedges of apples

put peanut butter on one side

see peanut butter is working this magic

tool

it's making things stick together

kind of puts them on the sides too so

the two sides of the apple stick

together squash

and take some mini marshmallows

and put them onto the peanut butter

can you see what it is yet

see it's a row of teeth

in the mouth
