zoom you're probably wondering what I'm

doing well I'm getting ready for a game

called snake in the grass and it was

emailed to us by Lexus B of mcken

Texas okay Zoomers here's how you play

I'm the snake I crawl around to my knees

and act like a snake then I try and tag

you you're the runner you have to stay

away from me the snake if I tag you then

you become a snake too the last Runner

not tag is the winner okay Boer so let's

zomo every week we get thousands of

letters from Zoomers all across the

country filled with great ideas here's

one that Ben s of hold Missouri wrote on

Chalk stationer he made himself so to

make your own chalk stationer you'll

need different colored

chalk a pan filled with about an inch of

water a plastic

knife and some

paper here's how he told us to make it

first take your plastic knife and gently

scrape some Shock over the pan of water

scrape the chalk over the areas of the

pan where you want it to appear on your

paper that's

cool see how the chalk floats on the top

of the surface of the water don't touch

it cuz it sink to the

bottom see it sinks to the

bottom I want to make Stripes so I'm

going to scrape some green shock

here and

here it's really cool it looks like

really

colorful couple more

STS that's good some red shock here

good some yellow truck

here the yellow really brightens it

up oh that's really cool it's

awesome then take your piece of paper

and gently lay it on top of your

water for just about a

second push it down a little bit more on

the sides

yellow stuff dripping off that is

awesome that is really cool that is so

awesome let it

this when it's

dry shake off the excess chalk

then you can write a letter on your

stationary and send it to a friend you

remember when we made marbleized paper

with paint well chalk stationer is just

another way to marbleize paper if you

want the directions on how to make

you don't have a computer at home you'll

good friend is someone who cares about

how you feel not just how they feel a

good friend is someone who doesn't

cattle pill on you when you get hurt

they can help you being kind nice and

caring about your friend someone who

will always watch out for you and make

sure that they're supporting you a good

friend is somebody that's there when the

good times aren't someone who's nice and

caring kind nice and funny what I think

makes a good friend is someone who's

honest and can trust when you're in need

what makes a good friend is someone that

helps you when you get stuck what's that

are right here in the tank do you know

why the bubbles are floating on a layer

of carbon dioxide we created the carbon

dioxide by mixing an acid which is

vinegar and a base baking soda here's

what happens when I blow bubbles into a

tank with just air in it no carbon

dioxide

see the bubbles don't float here's how

you can try this in your kitchen at

home

okay first pour some baking soda into a

clear

container okay I'll help you okay ready

yes sprinkle it

on I'm going to pour two cups into the

Container you don't have to use a

container as large as this one we're

using this one work in a small one as

well just use less baking soda now we're

going to pour vinegar into the

Container for this large container we're

going to use eight cups ready

yep look how

much swe another little tiny bubbles

yeah it's like soapy foam do you see the

bubbles that the vinegar and baking soda

are making they're actually making

carbon

dioxide look at that I know that's so

cool now blow some bubbles into the tank

and watch how they Flo on the chyon

dioxide okay ready

ready let's is so cool they're just like

suspended in the air oh here I'm going

to blow a few more by blowing bubbles

into a container with carbon dioxide in

it you're able to tell where the carbon

dioxide in air meet so if the bubbles

are floating right here like these are

then the air is on top right here and

the carbon dioxide is down here the

carbon dioxide stays at the bottom of

the tank because it's more dense than

the air in the tank the bubbles float on

top of the carbon dioxide because they

have air in it and the air is less dense

than carbon dioxide cool this will

better explain density I have two

balloons right here one is blown up with

there and one is blown up with carbon

dioxide that I made by mixing vinegar

and baking soda together can you hold

this for sure thanks

ready this is vinegar and this is baking

soda oh my gosh that's so

cool

exp cool both of these balloons are the

same size which means that the gas

inside of them is taking up the same

amount of space so this one is carbon

dioxide and this one is filled with air

but we're wearing both balloons you can

see that right y wa that when weighing

them the one with carbon dioxide is

heavier than the one with air in it

which means that carbon dioxide is more

dense in the one with air in it look it

wow what a big difference look at it I

know you never guessed that the air

inside or the car inside balloon would

be heavier than one of if you still

don't understand density don't worry

there's a lot of people who can explain

it to you you can talk to a teacher go

to your local library visit a science

exam or talk to your parents so explore

some more bubbles in this

tiny I just have a little more

oops went in the tank oh look at that

big one we know that bubble floated well

on carbon dioxide which we made by

mixing baking soda and vinegar but there

are other ways of making carbon dioxide

do you remember when G and count line

launched rockets by mixing baking soda

and lemon juice together well later on

in the show Rachel and I are going to

try to float bubbles on top of lemon

juice and baking soda we're going to

test other mixtures to see which

chemicals make carbon

Washington DC the capital of the United

States of America so sit back relax take

your shoes off this town is full of

history and

story in

1776 the United States of America was

born George Washington became our first

president

it took 15 years to decide where to

build the capital city some people

wanted the capital and New York Ed W in

the South finally George Washington

picked this spot it was close to his

home in

Virginia did you know the first

Cornerstone of the capital building was

put in place by President Washington

wow Washington hired a French architect

to design the capital city that's why DC

has so many pars fountains and monuments

it kind of looks like

Paris perhaps the greatest president of

all time is this man right here Abraham

Lincoln every time I come to Washington

I visit the Lin monument in fact when I

turned 6 years old I had my birthday

party right under the Lincoln

Statue and if you can't visit Washington

DC you can still visit this Monument on

the back side of every penny is a

picture of this place it's a little

carving of the Lincoln Memorial cool huh

but one of the best things about

Washington DC is that most of the cool

stuff to do is free free free art

galleries are free museums are free even

the zoo is free more than 20 million

people visit Washington DC every year

wow that's a lot of people and just

think all of this the 50 museums 70 art

galleries and countless Monument all of

this started with one man I wonder if

George Washington knew when he started

when he placed that first stone on top

of this

hill and

wigs to kids who have lost their hair

because they are sick Samantha donated

Bank newf in Canada volunteered with her

Girl Guide troop that's what they call

Girl house in Canada they made Easter

cards for seniors then they visited the

seniors to deliver the cards great job

team earlier on the show Rachel and I

floated bubbles on a layer of carbon

dioxide by mixing baby soda and vinegar

together now we're going to mix baking

soda with other liquids to see how the

bubbles will flow we have permission to

test any of these

chal okay so we probably we think lemon

juice works right because G Caroline

launched rockets off it so it must be

pretty powerful so that how about Cola

do you think that would work I think

Cola will work cuz there's lots of

bubbles in it and the bubbles the

bubbles are probably filled with carbon

dioxide so that probably will work what

about apple juice do you think apple

juice will work actually yeah because a

lot of fruits have acid in them so I

think apple juice would work but I don't

think it would be as strong as lemon

juice okay so why don't we try lemon

juice apple juice Cola and do you want

to stick with vinegar okay yeah that's a

good

idea three

four all

right so since we have an equal amount

of baking soda in each container to test

it out we're going to have to put an

equal amount of liquid in each container

as well all right so

so we're starting with um lemon juice

okay so okay we're going to use two

tablespoons and put it in the

container we should probably pour over

the

glass that's good okay one oh look at it

fing and two

there okay there there's the little

one there it works it doesn't stay as

long it pops as a vinegar yeah but I

think it floated well yeah so it works

except it doesn't have much vinar up

there yeah okay let's try apple juice

sure okay so get ready with that you

want to pour it in time

the oops okay let's make sure we pour it

over the cap yeah okay oh this is a big

opening so I'll move to you okay that's

good

one

two it didn't make a lot I'm not even

sure if it's gonna

float okay good

job yeah yeah I it's floating so this

one didn't work so we'll just put over

here then do you want let's try Cola I'm

exced this I know I'm excited too I want

to see it work I'll do you want to hold

it and I'll pour it sure so I don't want

that's funny to think things that you

drink have a lot of acid yeah doesn't

sound really appetising

cool no it doesn't it looks like when

you pour Coke into cup like

just I think they of add more bubbl yeah

you can definitely see the time how

about you blow I think you're a little

better cuz it look like um when one

would see they they sing the coke I

think the cola is making carbon dioxide

but not enough thought it was going to

work at first cuz it it foamed and I was

like oh cool and then it and then all of

a sudden it went down like it does like

cup but I think also the bigger the Fizz

of the liquid I think that means it has

more carbon dioxide yeah I think you're

right too because the lemon juice had

all really it kind like an exp except it

wasn't the bubble didn't float as high

okay so what do you think between apple

juice and cola I think they're kind of

the same so I think yeah vinegar is

going to

win this is strong SM I know you can

smell this one smell okay ready yeah

that has a lot of is no it's only like

one tablesp and all the all the liquids

foam like have their own foaming way

yeah there a lot look at

that there look at those that's so cool

wow thats really well that's awesome so

I think vinegar is the winner here are

the liquids we tested lined up vinegar

and baking soda made the most carbon

dioxide

then lemon

juice and then apple juice and

Cola made the Lea carbon

dioxide alen and Matt tested these

liquids earlier and learned that lemon

juice was a strong acid and that Cola

was a weaker acid we figure that the

liquid that made more carbon dioxide

lemon juice is a stronger acid than the

one that made less Cola experiment with

bubbles and carbon dioxide at home if

you come up with any interesting

discoveries send it to zoom

Most Beautiful Place in the world

written by an Cameron and illustrated by

Thomas C Allen it's about a little boy

named Juan whose mother and father leave

him so he goes to live with his

grandmother Juan worked really hard he

even shined shoes at the market he

wanted to go to school very badly so

while he was shining shoes he taught

himself to read and do arithmetic when

he was 7 years old he got to school and

even skip to grade I like this book a

lot because it taught me never to give

up and to always work very hard we want

to know what books you like so send your
