CH Virginia email us this fun game

called party guests there are going to

be some guests coming in and when they

come in they're going to be playing some

funny characters and it's my job to

guess which funny characters they're

playing let's play

hello I need

yes y okay a do oh okay guys that's

good no have fun eat eat

[Music]

some oh it was a beautiful day in happy

lovely

clayland everything was wonderful until

the giant Zumer came to

town he's good but don't worry though it

was just a piece of candy Heather and

Emily R of Indianapolis Indiana sent us

instructions to make this cool candy

called candy clay it's really fun to

make and tastes wicked good you can also

use it to decorate things like cupcakes

you definitely want to wash your hands

before making this Cafe but we already

did first you put

three cups of powdered sugar into a

large mixing

bowl okay next you add 1 14 cup of corn

syrup that looks really sticky yeah then

you add 1/2 teaspoon of salt

do you want to pour that

in half a stick of softened margarine

you should probably cut it up before

putting it in the bowl that way it'll be

easier to stir and knead

later if you're usually not allowed to

use a knife then you should ask an adult

for

help

good then you add 1 teaspoon of van no

extract smells good yes it does split it

around okay then we all

[Music]

up you want to

try going all over this should we need

it with our hands little bit

yeah oh man this is exactly why you

should wash your hands before doing

feel

cool should you like put it on The

Cutting Board yeah The Cutting Board

need it a little

bit

okay oh it helps to use your

knuckles this process usually takes a

long time so we have some that's already

needed

next you want to add a few drops of food

coling to each bow so what do you want

to use H

blue CH orange oh this is an orange it

looks like orange but it's actually

yellow just put like four or five

drops three

four five you want to use red

sh okay very

colorful get your that a little bit you

should use a spoon to start off when

you're mixing in the dye so you don't

get your hands all colored cuz Dy is

really hard to get out this is a really

long process too so we have some that's

already need

glue

yellow and red so you can make your clay

into flowers animals anything you can

imagine but I'm going to make a little

red hat

smell

Ste after you make your candy clay you

want to make sure that you eat it right

away because it hardens very fast trust

me your dentist will thank

you oh yeah

okay yeah a almost too cute to

eat

almost M this is really good

very

good than again Heather and Emily which

is awesome

[Music]

yeah hey Courtney yes Fresco oh how did

the fish feel when it was caught

stealing bait um I don't know guilty

[Music]

slow it down nice and

easy hi I'm Kylie and I'm 11 years old

and I live in Bonita California and I

love to run

tracks I'm on a track team called the

send of flyers and we practice three

times a

week I do three events in track and

field the 100 met Dash where we have to

run 100 m 4X 100 m Reay where four

people do 100 me

each and passive baton and we try to win

as a team against other teams and long

jump where I run down a Runway and jump

as far as I can into a

pit all right there you go nice form

nice form our head coach is coach sard

let's see you start stretching and he's

been my coach for three years and he

gives me lots of tips to improve my

running and there's a lot of cool

strategies with that come down nice and

relaxed what I have to do is train and

get my legs stronger and we're going to

Lunge with either the right leg or the

left leg going forward and then the

coaches help me run faster with

different techniques and stuff pick it

up go all right all right all right

looking good this right to the shoulders

like this okay not up here but here

moving my arm straight up and down makes

my arms go faster which makes my legs go

faster and so I run faster if I move my

arms out to the side I go

slower get up make sure you get up you

can't feel your legs getting stronger um

when you're working out but then when

you run like in um in races and stuff

you notice that you've got some faster

and you've improved get

set when you see the beginning of a race

it looks like some of the kids are

getting a head start it's called a

staggered start and even though it looks

unfair everyone's running the exact same

distances it's because the track shaped

around a curve you have to run further

on the outside Lanes than on the inside

Lanes so to be fair and to run the same

distance Runners have to start at

different

places what I like about long jumping is

that I like to jump really really far

and compete against everybody and I

think it's just really cool that it's a

sport for just jumping

far when I long jump I'm trying to jump

as far as possible nice jump so I need a

special long jump coach and my long jump

coach is coach Williams who helps me do

that if you want to jump far you have to

run your fastest and then you have to

jump off the line as high as you can

without slowing down and when you're in

the air you have to swing your arms

forward to try and stay in the air as

long as

possible when you're going to land lean

forward so you don't fall

backwards what we do for jumping up part

is like kind of like um jumping jacks

when we just try to jump really

high good job let's work on your Landing

now let's get a a real jump all the way

through I feel like I'm in free cuz I'm

in midair and I just like feel like I'm

[Music]

flying my dream for what where I want

track and field to take me is to be

Olympics and to be really fast to be the

wrote stay there dear Zoom here's some

riddles try and see if you can figure

of the a mhm so the answer would be 26

letters of the alphabet aab all right

besides there's Clues there's clues in

all of them all right ready the next one

deck with a joker that's cool I like

that one that one's cool next one

is 9 p in the

SS nine positions and uh nine nine

people I'll give you guys the Clue the

clue is

space n planet

inm planet in the Sol system nine

planets in the

all right the next one is that was hard

one actually yeah that was hard that

yeah that was a little hard 88 PK 88

keys on yeah I knew sheing was going to

get that 88 piano keys 13s on the

AF

[Music]

13 13 13 s on the

AF on the americ any No 1 St

close 1 stripes on the American

flages so close M was really

close same thing same thing no that was

a good one yeah that was

good eight eight S on an SS that's a lot

of s yeah there's a lot of s eight stars

on a solar system that's what I thought

but I'll give you guys a traffic

signs you ready traffic signs and signal

eight Sid on a stop sign good job yeah

that's yeah that one was a hard one oh

this one for quartz and a gallon okay I

was about to say it was hard but it's

not I guess oh this one's 24 hours in a

day yes 24 24 hours in a

day all right this is the last one

pretty hard 29 29 D in an F 29 days in C

in a leap a okay it's not that hard yeah

wow got it good job 29 days in February

in a leap year hey you heard that those

are all so cool they're hard these are

cool I like

them hey

Kyle oh hey Shan why is it easier to

understand a dime than a

nickel no clue because it makes more

[Music]

in this game you have to react quickly

or else you'll get slapped how quickly

or slowly you react is called your

reaction time Kelsey of inclined Village

Nevada sent us a way to measure it all

you need is a ruler a chair a friend and

this chart the chart tells you how fast

you react we found it in a book but you

can find a copy at the zoom website okay

here's what to do Courtney could you

please sit on this chair with your arm

resting on the table okay and do you

want me to do the chat yeah sure okay

I'll hold the end of the

ruler so that it dangles in between your

thumb and your pointer finger and your

fingers need to be an inch and a half

apart every time you do this now when I

drop it try to catch it as quickly as

you can I be nervous it's

hard all right so the let's see what you

CAU all right you caught it at 27 CM

according to our chart your reaction

time was about

0.24 seconds which is the same as 24

hunds of a second and that's try it one

so that's really really good we're each

going to do this three times and then

we'll discuss our results so courney you

need to do it two more

times

22 hunds of a

second all right last one okay okay

okay

25 okay so Kyle you're

green 10 10 1400s of a second no let's

try it again

14 16600 for the

seconds nine yeah like

1300 blue I'll do care

okay 14 cm C

1700 about 13

years 18 18 19 hundreds of a

second and it's 18 my P is kind of like

Courtney it's weird because you did it

with your opposite hand I think it

matters what hand you used Courtney and

I are naturally lefties and car used she

doesn't fit and right now right now when

I'm using it it feels like it feels

stiff over here but it feels loose right

here yeah I mean just feels that way I

want to see what happens if you were to

do it with your right

hand that's like 12 16 hundreds of a

second 10 would be 1, 1400 to second

last

one 28 wow those are really close yeah

it's like the last one just totally goes

up on both of yours actually hands are

different but that's just they're just

boundy different this was the fastest

reaction time and it was 13 hunds of a

second that means that my eyes told my

brain the ruler was falling and it sent

that message to my fingers and I caught

the Ruler all in 1300 of a

second and if you look at it right here

Cara your right hand probably would have

been about the same as your left hand if

you hadn't lost it right here on this

last dot so if you look at the reaction

time the fastest reaction time which was

the Green Dots was me the second fastest

which was the blue dots which were the

second reaction time was Cara third

fastest reaction time was Courtney with

the pink dots and if we actually

measured in Cara's right hand and left

hand I already did the blue dots which

was her left hand and her right hand

which is her dominant hand was her her

the yellow dots and she would came in

about third how fast is your reaction

time are older kids faster than younger

kids what about your parents come up

with your own questions test them out

and send them to zoom yeah that was

really cool W that was really

interesting action

hi we're Junior angel from Mount

grock rocks say a lot about the history

of a mountain and we're learning to tell

the different kinds of rocks apart from

each other there are three kinds of

rocks metamorphic ous and

sedimentary metamorphic rock is formed

under extreme heat and press Ignus R is

form in lava cool sary rack are

different layers of different kinds of

rocks that's where you find P people

don't think about rocks too much maybe

because there are so many of them but

the more we learn about them the more

fascinating and beautiful they seem do

you volunteer in your community if you

do you're already a member of the Zoom

team we want to hear all about it so

send us your stories along with any

photos or videos to dis adust remember

the little things you learn can
