outside of the Zoom Studio I'd love to

show you my city it's got great shopping

and restaurants but we don't have time

for that today I'm working the last

Harvest with my cousin in the country

these are all my cousins this is lorya

years old I've been coming down here

with my family on weekends and vacations

to help out with the garden do the

chores at first when I first met the

animals I was a little uncomfortable

because I didn't want want to bite me oh

it's yummy I like the turkey they're

very

friendly a little rough feeding time but

I like the CH now we're going to feed

the chicken let's

see my cousins and I come here some CI

from all over the oh that's that's right

one it looks like the rooster at that

eggs you got to milk the goat e okay

once I back a few times and I got used

to the animals I can do a whole bunch of

things that I couldn't do at the

beginning grab it from the top and

squeeze it down oh way here yeah oh okay

really yeah that's going

take in a lot of animals that need a

place to

go their newest edition Cadillac is the

cutest horse I've ever seen she's a

really good girl I love her coloring

like she's like really dark brown then

she has like blonde hair you want a

car after the work is done we camp out

in a huge tent that we put up in the

field I love living in the city but

being with my cousins on the farm is so

great I'm lucky that I get to do

both remember when we went camping we

used store about tents to sleep

in but what if you didn't have a tent

well Britney B of cpic Virginia says

that you can make your own tent using

materials you found in the house before

we start building you want to make sure

we have a good design so we're going to

use straws string and push pin to build

a few models of tents then we're going

to choose which design we think is best

but here's the design criteria we have

to build our tent using materials we can

find on the house it has to be big

enough for us to sleep in and it has to

be tall enough for us to stand in and it

has to look cool want start Okay so how

do you think we should do this well I

guess like in a real tent there's like

poles and then there's Stak to hold down

so I guess the P would be like the straw

yeah the the the stfe would be the push

pins and do you think they should use

like strin to build tension so that the

pose will stay up oh yeah just took a p

and going all right so do you think we

should try maybe just simple like one

pole sure one p so how I get some pin

how would we connect the string to

this oh what if we me like little slits

and put the string through that's a good

idea all right so we'll put it in the

middle we don't need anything pulls down

cuz the string leaves the tension these

two first so the tension's going to keep

the pole up I'll hold it tight you can

put the push pin is that good

yeah there good okay okay and as you

hold it up and I for the other pushman

on the other

side wait you want to try to get the

same distance I can I like this so want

to get like a little closer yep got it

so we can so we can make two more and

it' be even more ition

then and good we so okay so this is

model one that's awesome I actually like

that one so can and it actually be

really easy to build y all right let's

try h two poles sure what if we cut FPS

into the poles right and then we put a

string over the PO so it made like a

triangle over here y triangle here and

it would be like a a rectangle in the

middle you mean there would be a

triangle triangle y that would be

triangle and then this is oh I I got it

oh this is so cool awesome so the two

one actually looks really well and it

actually looks like a real 10 I love

this one this so good idea Taylor thank

right so what we do with the third one I

don't know we use one pole we use two

poles so why don't we try using like a a

lot of poles all right you know I think

this one is a good design but I think it

might be too hard it should be just see

the pros and cons of each one

sure okay so number one let's start with

the one with one

coal okay can we use household materials

I think we could like you could use rope

yeah this could be like a cardboard tool

or shower pole yeah and then these we

just use tap yeah is it big enough for

us to sleep in no I don't think so it it

shapes like a diamond the base and so if

we stuff like in the middle exactly so

if we if we stuff like this our feet

would stick out this way

and is it tall enough or standing look

it goes right down so if you sleep here

and you stand up you're going to H and

you can't stand it here cuz there's all

this stuff coming out okay it looks kind

of cool it could look

cool it's just no this is not a very

good one well I mean it's not bad we can

do better yeah all right well it's

number two can we use hot fial well with

these you could still use shower PS or

car or you know we use all the same

material exactly open t

and then it's a big enough

defin people or we can fit one

two or and we can fit like our our gear

in the middle and is it t definitely

defin there's an area all right here so

we can stand up yep and is it cool yeah

sure it does all right so that one I

can't find any color yeah's see and the

third one well you can use St materials

so yeah St materials okay so number one

okay big enough for to sleep

yeah yes I mean we just like this ours

is just kind of small we t stand cuz we

once again care about this area right

here definitely it does look cool cool

but I it's harder to make than this I

think number two is much better the con

is that it's hard to make

okay so these are the materials we're

going to use to build our tent okay

we're going to use the rope for the

orange

string we're going to use sheets and

shower curtains to put over

it so be like that we're going to use

duct tape for the push pins we can also

use masking tape and we going to use

shower curtain rods for the TR cool all

right so our tent is going to be an

indoor tent so our materials don't have

to be waterproof very cool and then you

just twist it that's very good so you

just put these down yes maybe we should

build our tents around the seing bags so

that we know that they'll fit yeah cuz

if we build it and then put it put the

seat bag in we don't necessarily know

that it'll fit yeah we'll have to do one

pole at a time cu that's right obviously

so should we put one on our head and one

on our feet one on our head okay I'll

hold this up where's the end here it's

going to go up and let's see if we want

to have it like

hold the string back just it doesn't

move too much oopsies um I don't think

this is working just to putp this around

can make it touch the ground on one side

we could take the blue sheet and drap it

over the side

okay this is so cool can you believe we

actually like we actually made this and

it looks like just as good it's not

better than a tent that you buy at a

store exactly the whole thing works

because of tension yes cuz the ropes

pulling on either side of the pole it's

the pole wants to go one way so when we

attached it on this side it went that

way but when we attach it on this side

it went that way too so it just stay in

the middle yeah and also it can't go

forward or towards this direction

because of that yeah so it can't go this

direction cuz that's ping it can't go

that direction cuz this pulling they

can't go this direction so that's

pulling so basically it can't go

anywhere so that's why it's standing

yeah but the only problem with our

tension is that even though when we

didn't have the sheets on it was all

straight but because it added on a

little weight it's drooping a little so

if we wanted to like make a better

design we probably want to figure out

how to get this you know straighter yeah

that's that's okay still we we still did

really cool Engineers use prototypes to

test out their designs just like we did

that way they can spot out any flaws

before they actually start building

something try making your own tent at

home start with a model when you come up

with a design you like try building the

real thing you might also want to make

sure that your tent can be built easily

and quickly make your own at home and

send us an email telling us how it

I watch it every day after school what

are your cultures and how do you

celebrate them mine is M it's very

special to me and I celebrate it with my

ancestors that are now Spirits in heaven

sincerely Michelle so she wants to know

what our cultures are and stuff like

that how about you well I'm Mexican so

we have a lot of like Spanish culture

Traditions like for example when my

sisters they they turned 15 they had a

ginas yeah yeah which is kind of

equivalent to like an an American sweet

16 yeah right you have like a big part

is pretty much the growing up that's

really cool mhm and of course the Pata

the Pata I have favorite part yeah I

love thing C stick and Candy comes out

like every birthday M well my mom's Kate

biran and my dad's African-American and

we celebrate K Quanza it's today after

Christmas wow and we have a big party

and eat food and be like the the candles

on the canara it's it's kind of like

Hanukkah but it's

not well my dad's from Pakistan and my

mom's of Irish descent okay so I'm half

Pakistani half Irish and my family and I

we celebrate a holiday called ramadon

which it's kind of like

fasting and um I'm not really sure how

long is I think it's 40 days oh but we

celebrate for a long time we fast for a

long time sorry and um and then

celebrate e which is a party it's like a

festival after Ramadan which you guys

eat you eat and you have fun you dress

in your nicest

clothes and then we also celebrate some

Irish Traditions so so a long time of

fasting you just had a great big Feast

you we really pretty clothes and

everything cool that sounds fun yeah

well here's a Zinger first you have to

choose a compound word like ice cream

then someone else takes the last word of

that compound word and uses it as the

beginning of another compound word your

group goes on and on until you can't go

any further here's he put an example ice

cream and then you change it to cream
