My name's Julia Cooper,
I'm 21 years old,
and I'm from Poland...

It's a really tiny town.

She is a excellent
singer and dancer.
The first time I ever sang
in front of anyone, I was 5,
and I sang in a nursing home,
and people cried.
And I got in the car
and said to my mom,
like, "I'm going
to make people cry.
Like, I want to do this
for a long time."
I always was looking
for different opportunities
that maybe, you know,
other kids weren't doing.
I write songs.
I want to be an artist.
I wasn't like anyone else,
but I didn't really care.
I was like, "Okay,
whatever, I'll be that kid
that's, like, the weird
and quirky one, I guess."
I just always knew
that what I needed to do
wasn't necessarily in Poland.
It was somewhere else.
Right now, I go to Middle
Tennessee State University.
When I moved to Tennessee,
I went to school part time
because I was working four jobs.
One job, we would call alumni
and put into the system
what they're doing now.
Also, we would take
groups of students
on various outdoor activities.
I taught yoga at a gym.
If I had the time,
I would walk dogs.
[ Dog barks ]
Adulting is no joke.
The pandemic hit.
I lost three of my four jobs,
and I could no longer pay
to stay in Tennessee,
so I moved back home
with my parents
and was luckily able
to get another job
once I was home
to help my parents out
and just still continue
to pay for school.
[ Speaks indistinctly ]

I've been fighting
to be in a spot like this
and start on this new journey
that could be life-changing.
So now to finally be here
is a dream come true,
and I'm really, really excited
to have my chance onstage.

I'm always doing something
with music throughout the day,
whether it's listening,
whether it's tapping my hand,
stomping my foot,
it's all music every day.
Music is life to me.
I'm Apropos, I'm 31 years old,
and I'm from Detroit, Michigan.
When I was thinking
of a solo name,
the word "Apropos"
just stuck out to me
because I can pertain
to hip-hop, pop, soul, country.
I feel like "The Voice"
is apropos for me now
because I've worked hard
to get to this place.
It's my time.
When I was almost 2 years old,
my father, he passed away,
so my mother sacrificed for me.
She worked really hard
so we didn't have to struggle.
When I was 7 years old,
I literally just remember
my mom saying,
"Hey, we're gonna start
piano lessons."
My mom has been singing
in church all her life.
I've always gotten motivation
and inspiration from her.
So I stuck with choir
until the end of high school.
But outside of that,
I was always
singing and playing music.

I got to record an album,
and then after sending
my music out,
I got a call from a label
in London.

And I'm like... I'm like, "Yo,

I get a call

and he tells me, "Elton John

My mother means
the absolute world to me.

everything to me.
I played piano growing up,
so it's always been there,

It was just waiting for me
to get over baseball
so I can really tap in full.
Baseball was my first love.
When I first started playing,
I was 6 or 7.
I played every year,
every season.
I was an outfielder,
a first baseman,
but, ultimately,
I was a pitcher.
Made a college roster
in grad school.
After grad school, went out
and played a couple of years
of independent
professional baseball.
Independent pro ball,
that's where you go
and you share a room
with four guys in a motel
and you get paid

My second year, I came out
with my guitar with the notion
that I could make
some money on the side,
and I did land a regular gig
at a local spot.
And I was like, "You know what?
This is a lot of fun

and music helped me
softly come down from baseball.
A year ago, my wife gave birth
to our son Boone.
I would consider myself
a Mr. Mom, for sure.
I spend my days
going on long walks with Boone.

population of about 200 people.
It's a gorgeous place.

And I've been living
in Nashville since.
We didn't even have
the graduation.

my diploma and move on.

Being out in the real world now
after college is very scary.
I have no idea exactly
what I want to do
besides pursue this dream
that I have.
And we'll see where it takes me.
I just kind of knew that I
really wanted to go into music,
and I went to Berklee in Boston
for a little bit.

We live on 15 acres
in a yellow house.
It's just pastures and fields
as far as the eye can see.
I come from a long line
of rodeo men and women.
When I was little,
my dad used to take me
to rodeos all the time.
Around then is when I learned
that I wanted to be onstage.

I actually started singing
in the church
when I was about 7 years old,
and I did a duet with my mama.
She's the one who pushed me
to start singing.
I started traveling across
Oklahoma, Texas, and Arkansas
to do live gigs.
I actually play
at Blake Shelton's venue,

It's about 30 miles
from my house.
Her dad's the roadie.
He's the driver.
I'm helping behind the scenes.
And so it's really
a family affair.
My family has been
the biggest supporters.
My mom and my dad
both work full-time jobs,
and they still find time
to go to all my gigs.

It's something
that unifies all of us.
So I'm a huge fan of

My name is Tori Miller, I'm 26,
and I'm from
Siloam Springs, Arkansas.
I was raised on classic country,
and my family started
a local Opry in my hometown.
So I just grew up on the stage,
singing the classics.
And from that point,
I just never stopped.
My parents were divorced
shortly after I was born.
My biological dad
had issues with addiction,
so there was about
an 8-year period
where I didn't talk to him.
When I turned 18,
I reached out to him.
He really became my best friend.
He did everything to support
my music career.
One show,
it was pouring down rain.
I was playing on the patio
of a restaurant,
and he sat in a raincoat
because he was dedicated
to making up for lost time.
Unfortunately, the decades of
addiction had taken their toll.
He passed away in March of 2019.
I miss him so much.
I feel him with me.

he would be really proud.
A lot of power as a musician
comes when you harness
raw emotion,
and I'm going to try
and just channel all of that.
I know that the teams
