Once Upon an orphanage my life was a

near tragic State

I longed to find a brighter place

somewhere full of love and grace I dream

of fields with a cool Ocean Breeze I

pinched myself to make sure this home

was real

they said for a boy but then I was a

girl my dreaming had just let me down

again if I came as a queen this long

ebony hairs and maybe they feel I was

worth it for them I'm a good worker in

spite of My Talking I belong to belong

here for all of my life don't send me

away without

bouncy I see everything I touch

I can imagine a world full of joy just

give me your hand and I'll teach you to

hope you'll find that I have something

worthwhile just let me stay here and

I'll love you forever I promise a life

full of smiles

I dare say this may be the most

beautiful sunrise I've ever seen you say

that every morning

Matthew when I'm dragged from the

thrilling dreams I have I need the

promise of a spectacular Sunrise to help

get out of bed in the morning

the russet Hues the ocher

Reds

Reds pretty the sky and certain berries

are the only place such a color belongs

certainly not in a poor girl's hair only

thing prettier than your hair is the

Harvest Moon coming up in happening

nights

our teacher says we are going to

go in a couple of nights now that will

be a sight to behold and surely

hadn't you fetched those eggs yet

breakfast is ready the farm doesn't wait

for slowpokes quite right uh Marilla may

I have some friends over to watch the

lunar eclipse the moon is going to be

hidden in the earth's shadow

we don't have time to host a social

every time the moon moves but that's

just it Marilla this phenomenon is as

rare as hence teeth

speaking of hands we don't want those

eggs sitting in the heat

but nothing wrong with a bit of fun my

dear brother after such a late night who

will do chores next morning a little

party would do her good wow

I suppose we could manage a few friends

why do I have the feeling I'm going to

regret this

for goodness sake child don't wolf down

your breakfast you'll give yourself

oh Marilla I can hardly wait to invite

everybody

Green Gables will be host to the most

marvelous Soiree this town has ever seen

merely a few friends over for lemonade I

wonder if it wouldn't be too much bother

for you to make your angel food cake

it's surely the most decadent confection

in all Avonlea we'll see I'm busy enough

this time of year

dishes and in a minute first I have some

things to do before school

it's nothing but Sports everybody at

school think of it the whole class of

Green Gables

but if everyone's coming what's the

point of invitations

frankly I'm not sure all I know is

invitations are of the utmost importance

for this kind of event but Anne do you

think they'll come of course they will

with such Celestial entertainment in the

night sky I'll finally be a success in

heavenly

my dear Gilbert how wonderful to see you

I wouldn't have missed some momentous

Gathering or your Splendid buffet in

fact I Don't Mind If I Do

I must say and you'll be known far and

wide as a truly Stellar Hostess

all in the service of my guests Felicity

my dear Anne I'm quite speechless you've

outdone yourself I say we really must

have you up to the Villa this summer oh

the eclipse is here it's finally

merely lost in reflection thinking about

you're hosting a party it's to celebrate

the eclipse you're invited same as

everybody a party at Green Gables how

acquaint I assure you it will be a most

wondrous event join us marveling under

the night sky or be left alone in the

dark I'm just surprised that with all

your farm chores you even have the time

to put a party together

I'll have plenty of time don't you worry

we'll put Felix next to Gilbert here

and Diana beside me and Edward beside

now what have we here I've assembled a

stupendous seating arrangement sure to

guarantee the most fascinating dinner

conversations oh speaking of our meal

here's my idea for a menu

and you're only having a few friends

over to gawk at the Moon nothing fancy

but we could make it so much more than

that we'll offer a few snacks on the

sideboard a few snacks it's just before

Harvest our busiest time of the year I

hope you I promise just worry about your

chores I noticed the wood bin is getting

low I know

I'll get to it after I come up with a

new plan

less fancy won't be so bad after all

I've designed a party that's still

worthy of our guests once in a lifetime

experience we'll have blankets on the

lawn with lanterns strung through the

trees then when the moment comes poof we

blow them out lie back and enjoy

Nature's wonders in the sky above first

things first oh Matthew it's Saturday

but hinge don't take a day off neither

can we you know Matthew I dare say I've

got too many chores around here if you

don't do them who will

looks like a pretty swell Affair she's

planning

Matthew don't you have work to do

why oh why must I live on this Farm the

work is out of

utterly so meager it's impossible to

ever catch up with my chores so why even

bother

exactly I've got to get the mail every

day and dust and polish silver plus

bring in firewood for the stove and

clean the butter churn and feed the cat

oh and gather eggs from you every

morning

well I didn't mean to insult you you are

my favorite task of course years from

now when people ask where were you on

the night of the lunar eclipse my guests

will answer and Shirley's party at Green

Gables people don't see the significance

of a lunar eclipse

chores

oh my goodness what were eggs doing on

this shelf uh uh Marilla I was just on

my way to bringing them inside just as

soon as I finished this uh well you see

I came for wood oh dear I I just Plum

forgot about the wood bin other things

gotten away in my chores well other

things won't be distracting you now your

party is canceled

I'm begging you won't you reconsider why

should I permit a party for a girl who

has so brazenly ignored her obligations

bended knee I've invited all the kids

they're all excited about coming in and

now they'll have to cancel

how can I do that tell them the truth

you are unable to manage a party without

throwing your chores out the window

seems like there's some cloud in front

of our sunshine today claiming the

depths of Despair Marilla has ruined my

life

that's quite an achievement

we canceled the party just because I

wasn't doing my chores it's not fair

well chores are important on a fire man

and your chores are just as important as

anyone's

that and days worth of eggs isn't an

easy thing to lose oh dear what happened

tragedy

suit yourself

now before the sorrel mayor eats your

pillow why not go and catch up on your

duties nothing like busy hands to

lighten the heavy heart

like I'm sentenced to a lifetime of hard

labor golly all I was thinking was you

could go get yesterday's meal

why do I have to do everything around

party coming along oh not the way I

planned it I expect a farm girl like

you's got no time for such luxuries

well good thing there's a lunar eclipse

for entertainment with an event like

that even you couldn't mess up this

that's all she and Matthew care about

wouldn't it be nice if they just relax

for once imagine if we didn't have to do

place is a pigsty well since I

discovered the art of relaxation I

haven't made it to Market

I hadn't gone to the trouble of baking

bread either

I'll ask for butter it's been a week

since I've earned any truth be told I've

enjoyed the break well we in the barn

sure haven't and I myself could

certainly do with some oats and a brush

even let their home get to such a state

we've been relaxing so much

maybe you could do the chores

life without chores really means a life

of misery and squalor

found one that'll save us from rack and

ruin the sorrel mayor looks beautiful

thanks to daily brushing takes a lot of

work but she's worth it

Matthew I do see the importance of

chores after all your hard work means an

orphan like me can have a good life I've

been horribly ungrateful and I'd

understand if you saw fit never to

forgive me but even so I do hope you

will just watch yourself around Marilla

with that egg I'll do more than that in

exchange for my Blissful existence at

Green Gables the least I can do is a few

chores it's all in the way you look at

them exactly now if you'll excuse me

granted and I'd rather not watch the

eclipse with you why why not

because I'd rather you spend the evening

watching the eclipse with your friends

I think I do

see the candles the Sun and this ball

hears the earth and the small one

orbiting us is the moon then when they

all line up like this the Earth's Shadow

is cast upon the moon it's that simple

but think of it what are the chances of

all three being in a row like that guess

what everyone I think it's starting

well I'll be look at that

there's the Earth's shadow

Matthew Marilla thank you for all your

help today I couldn't have done it

without you we wouldn't be here without

you and

it's possibly the most wonderful night

of my life oh am you always say that

well maybe it's always true

really is a sight to behold

he is a rare one isn't she worth all the

work I'd say
