Once Upon an orphanage my life was a

near tragic State

I longed to find a brighter place

somewhere full of love and grace I dream

of fields with a cool Ocean Breeze I

pinched myself to make sure this home

was real

they said for a boy but then I was a

girl my dreaming had just let me down

again if I came as a queen this long

ebony hairs and maybe they feel I was

worth it for them I'm a good worker in

spite of My Talking I belong to belong

here for all of my life don't send me

bouncy I see everything I touch

I can imagine a world full of joy just

give me your hand and I'll teach you to

hope you'll find that I have something

worthwhile just let me stay here and

now for next week's assignment hey Perry

got your skates you bet Barry's pond is

frozen solid am I disturbing you boys I

too am anxious to begin the hockey

season yes beneath this scholarly

exterior lurks an avid fan

but we must attend to our academic

duties first yes Miss King for next week

please write an essay outlining The

Invention you believe would improve life

in Avonlea oh what a stimulating

assignment not as stimulating as hockey

class is dismissed

I'm going to invent a machine that zooms

across the snow on skis my essay will

describe an invention that dries dishes

that would improve all our lives what's

your invention in that's the last thing

on my mind and you're your new

that I haven't played hockey since I

left the orphanage for our first

practice everyone gets a chance to play

different positions now

Practice Game

thanks oh Matthew I desperately wanted

to play center but my skating left a

great deal to be desired so Lauren made

Gilbert team captain and meet goalie

well now I end up the goaltender has a

pretty important job yes I must resign

myself to my fate

I'd hope to be the picture of wintry

Avonlea effortlessly gliding around

Barry's Pond backwards forwards up and

down

ouch

don't you worry you'll get better I'd

better my sore rear end can't take much

more

before we begin today's practice for our

first big game comedy

before we begin a few ground

ice rules work hard play hard and above

all don't let your teammates down by

missing practice

with Diana yesterday

I've already started my heart is

pounding at the thought of going down

there I'm too nervous

goalie again I can't help it having

butterflies only means you're ready to

tackle something new your body is

gathering steam ready to take on the

world really just think of them as

Talent struggling to get out you mean I

might be good at hockey why certainly

just think of us as party or game plan

getting you ready to stop any old Puck

that comes your way so if I have fun I

might like the feeling of butterflies

that's right

that gives me a great idea thanks Belle

looking but now that I feel safer I dare

say I'll enjoy myself a lot more it's

it's just when you miss two practices

Monument is Victorious skates to

commemorate her excellent footwork

next Reese's Puck for his team effort

next Perry's hockey stick for

exceptional passing

Diana skate laces to symbolize the ties

of excellent sportsmanship

this experience certainly taught me to

be a better sport

a roll of bandages for Felix for

participating through hardship

s oh here's one a lantern to symbolize

Gilbert's guidance as team captain

that's all

and finally the most important addition

to our Monument something that taught us

how to be safe and smart and still have

a great time my goalie padding

congratulations Anne this is a more

important contribution to the sport than

any old Championship cup and not only

that it's an invention that improved

life for all that only you mean my

assignment lean to the left lane to the

right and gets top marks she's so bright
