Leon this is a special Apache pollen

pouch yeah my my grandfather gave it to

me see all these little beads here those

are all sewn on by hand and the the

little bells at the bottom are made out

of tin wow that is so cool can I look at

it well um sure Leon just just be real

little greeny stuff inside oh that's

pollen from the cattail plant hm see the

pollen has a very special meaning to

Apaches really

mhm pollen is a fine Yellow powder

that's inside

Cattails it's part of what makes plants

grow so pollen can mean life and

health Apaches believe that pollen is

sacred it's very special and we use it

in many important

ceremonies this

chist We Gather pollen in the summertime

when the weather is

seasons my cousins carry on this

tradition they pick Cattails and shake

the pollen out get the powder from in

and I found out that it was my friends

and I thought that she would um think

that I had stole it and be angry at me

and then um my mom forced me into it to

give it back to her and I gave it back

to her the next day at school I found a

bag of valuable rocks that I didn't

really want to give it back but I fin me

thought of telling him that I had it but
