Wake up, Dinah. We've got company.

It was my turn to take
the class mascots home for the weekend.

Or maybe I should say
the class mouse-cots.

Because they are two mouses.

Wait. That's not right.
"Mouse" isn't one of those words

you can just add an S
when you want to make it plural.

Like "house" and "houses."

That's right, Dinah.

When you mean more than one mouse,
you don't say "mouses."

You say "mice."

And speaking of mice,
I think you make them nervous.

You'd better stay out for a while.

There.

You guys must be tired
after that long trip home from school.

Well, you can rest now.

I'll be back in a little while.

[sobbing]

Say, you wouldn't know
how to get rid of hiccups, would you?

Well, as a matter of fact I do.

Just, uh, listen to this story.

"Once there was a monster
who lived in Lake Ness.

Everyone was afraid of the monster

because he was very cranky.

The villagers named him
the Cranky Ness Monster.

They tried to make him happy

by giving him presents.

But they weren't sure
what Crankiness wanted.

The villagers tried
all kinds of different things.

But nothing seemed to help.

Until the day a little girl
gave the monster what he really wanted.

A big hug.

From then on,
the monster was no longer cranky.

In fact, he was so happy,
they renamed him the Happy Ness Monster.

And soon a rich man came to Lake Ness

to try to buy the monster for himself.

But the monster was not for sale.

Because as we all know
money can't buy happiness."

What does that story
have to do with getting rid of my hiccups?

Listen very carefully,
and tell me what you hear.

Nothing.

Precisely.

My hiccups, they've gone.

But how?

If you ignore hiccups,
they'll go away by themselves.
