[Hiromi panting] Almost, almost.

- [bell dinging]
- Whoo! Made it!

Really going hard on that stress ball.

- [catching breath] Yeah!

I got a jog in before flute practice,

then ran to my yearbook meeting

with just enough time

to clean all the school's fish tanks.

It's been a crazy week.

Hiromi, it's Monday, first period.

Oh, well, here's hoping things
will slow down.

Hey, Hiromi, about our biology project,

do you mind doing it yourself?

I got tickets to that
new Broadway musical about democracy.

♪ Tickets for this cost $5,000! ♪

- Uh, well, sure. It's all good!
- [squeezes stress ball]

The results of
the Plumber Pride Awards are in!


This honor is bestowed
on the student whose can-do attitude


best embodies school spirit.

The official award ceremony
will be held Friday,


to be organized

by the events committee,

the honor society,

and the school theater club

which are all incidentally run
by Hiromi Tanaka.


So I have to organize
my own awards ceremony?

[Principal Funderberk]

- I'll handle it. Just like I always have.
- [squeezes stress ball]

[gasps] My stress ball!

It's all good. It's not like I need

a cheap piece of rubber to do

all this work that I'm excited to do.
All by myself.

I mean, what's the worst
that could happen?

[♪ mysterious music playing]

Everything just rolls
off of Hiromi's back!

It's like she's completely fine

The date that shall not be mentioned.

Don't mention it!

If there's any chance of things

being not weird between us,

I have to prove to her
I'm cool with everything, too.

It's going to be awkward
till one of you moves on.

You should show up
to her awards ceremony with someone else.

Oh, yeah, that's a great idea!

I'm off to get a date.

[Kevin whistles]

Um, that's a bad plan.

Yeah, well, if you're taking
relationship advice

from a talking hamster
it's kind of on you.

[students murmuring]

Okay, events committee, settle down.

We've got a lot to do.

Kris, let's get the DJ
from our last dance.

Naya, we need lots of decorative bunting
for the ceremony. Got it?

- Yeah, sure, whatever.
- We totally got it.

- Okay, catering, I was thinking--
- [lunch lady] Think no more,

I have appetizer made already.

Is fish-head yogurt.

Um, I was thinking
something more edible, like pizza?

Pizza? [spits]

Uh, I guess that's fine.

You know, it's your awards ceremony.

Maybe you should get a say

Look, maybe she's being
a little unreasonable, but--

[lunch lady screaming]

[both gasp]

- [lunch lady scream]
- [both scream]

I'm one with face full of fish-heads!

What happened?

I came in and someone hit me
in the face with yogurt

and disappeared before I could see.

Who knows?

Hungry janitor? Jealous bear?

I have enemy across species.

Now fish-heads are ruined!

We will have to order pizza!

[sarcastically] The horror.

Wow, well, I guess things kinda...

- [voice hissing]
- ...worked out great, hehe.

[♪ mysterious music playing]

[Kevin] So, Pamela,

what do you say?

Let me get this straight.

You have no romantic interest in me.

But want me to go with you
to the awards ceremony

as a "date" so you can prove
to a former crush

that things are totally normal
between you two,

thereby using me as a pawn

in your game of emotional chess?

Yeah, that's pretty much the idea.

Okay, I didn't have plans anyway!

Wow, that was easier than I thought!

Hamster gives really great advice.

Okay, I did Chad's half
and my half of this glucose model

and it's looking pretty... [snores]

- Hiromi?
- Mmm, sorry,

I had two minutes of sleep last night.

Ugh, I can't.
I have badminton practice.

I didn't know you were on the team.

Oh, I'm not.

They just asked me to be manager

which means I do all the things

no one else wants to do.

For three hours!
And I don't get to play!

It's enough to make me wanna
march into the gym

[sighs] help out the team.

We came in and all the badminton gear
was wrecked!

[crying hysterically] They k*lled Netty
and now we have to cancel practice.

But no practice means
I finally get a night off.

I must have a guardian angel
looking out for me.

[♪ ominous music playing]

Okay, speech, check.
Dress, check. Checklist, check.

Concealing emotions behind a false mask
of aplomb, double check.

What mask? I'm feeling fabulous.

And this ceremony's
going off without a hitch.

[bagpipes playing]

[football player] Sorry, bro!

Oh, look, numerous hitches.

Hey, Hiromi! The DJ was booked,

but I found these bagpipers last minute!

Can they play any quieter?

Their contract
says I'm not allowed to ask them that!

Thanks for making it happen.

[football player] My bad!

Naya, what's with the football players?

Where's the bunting?

Oh, bunting? I thought
you said decorative punting, with a "p."

- [grunts]
- [football player] Sorry, bro!

Why would I say punting in this context?

I dunno, man, it's your awards ceremony.

[grumbles] It's all good.

Okay, here is pizza.

[disgusted retching]

through my speech.

Wait. [clears throat] You and Pamela?

- [gasps]

- [audience applauding]

As I look around this auditorium,

- I am filled with...
- [cat meows]

[♪ intense music playing]

- [roaring]
- [audience screaming]

This is not a part of my speech.

- [thuds]

- [roars]
- [crowd screaming]

Och, perhaps we can defeat it
with our awful cacophonous music!

- [playing bagpipes]
- Hold, hold!

[roars]

[bagpiper] We got him right
where we want him, lads.

- [roars]
- [both scream]

I think we should pretend
to see other people!

[roaring continues]

[Kevin screaming]

[Kevin] Ahhh!

[grunts]

[Kevin] Gretel, Hamster!

How did you guys make it here so fast?

We came to stop you
from taking Hamster's terrible advice!

[Gretel grunts]

[stress ball screams]

[struggling] Why is this thing
so mad at you?

I dunno, all I did was
come to support Hiromi!

And, ya know,
show her that I've moved on!

[Kevin screams]

Wait, that's no monster,

that's Hiromi's stress ball.

I'm definitely feeling the stress!

Fish-heads, badminton gear, Kevin!

It's attacking all the things
that made her upset.

But how could she
possibly be upset with me?

- [yelps]
- Really?

[stress ball screaming]

Fred! What is happening?

It appears that your stress ball is alive

and somehow feeding off
your bottled-up emotion.

I am not
bottling anything, Fred.

But thanks for your
unsolicited advice.

Ahhh!

No!

- This is what I was talking about!
- [stress ball growling]

- Okay, okay. I was a little annoyed...
- [Fred] Hey, don't eat me!

...just now with you,

because you're always
calling me out on my nonsense

and it's irritating!

- [air hissing]
- Ow! Good thing its teeth are rubber.

Wait, is that thing getting smaller?

Yes. And I feel better.

I think I know how to get it
under control. [exhales]

All right, enough!

This ceremony is a disaster!

Don't have to tell us twice.

And I'm not talking about
the giant rubber monster

literally destroying everything.

The truth is, I'm tired
of being everyone's doormat

and saying yes to everything.

I'm sick of smiling
and saying "It's fine"

because sometimes things
are not fine!

[groaning]

Yeah, you tell 'em, Hiromi!

Oh, don't start with me, Kevin!

It's one thing to stand me up,
but then you show up

at my ceremony with Pamela Ryan,
my sworn enemy?

[all] What?

Kindergarten. The apple juice incident!

Don't act like you forgot, Pamela!

And you, stress ball,
you were supposed to relieve my stress,

not add to it!

[groaning]

The point is, I don't need
an award telling me I'm appreciated.

- I just want to be appreciated!
- [squeaking]

[sighs in relief]
Wow! That felt pretty good.

[crowd clapping]

an unorthodox speech

but I guess people have been
taking you for granted.

All right, Hiromi, the broom's in
the closet so you can start cleaning up.

I am going to respectfully
decline that offer.

We probably shouldn't
leave this lying around.

Now it's Jupiter's problem.

That was... different.

Yeah. I mean, I had no idea
that I made her feel that way.

No, Kevin,
not your banal teenage drama.

The fact that a vengeful stress ball
destroyed the auditorium.

Oh, right. Guess we'll never know.

[♪ mysterious music playing]

[alien 1] So why did you give
that piece of rubber powers again?

[alien 2] They kept piling
things on that poor girl.

It's just so frustrating
to see someone

have to put up
with so much all the time!
