magical piece of paper magic absolute

magic and I'll show you how to do the

slick trick actually it's a betcha

you say to your friends I bet you that I

can make this paper magical so that it

will hold up this book and your friends

will try to get the paper to hold up the

book and of course the paper won't hold

up the book and then you show them how

to do the trick here's how to make the

paper strong enough to hold up the book

you accordion pleat the paper you know

you fold it one way and then you fold it

the other way and each time you sharpen

your folds with your fingernail and then

you fold it the other way again and then

the other way again and when you have

accordion pleated your paper you stand

it up on end and it will be strong

enough to hold the book and this trick

will help you uphold your reputation

boy every time I go to a parade I am so

frustrated cuz I'm little well maybe I'm

a little little bit bigger than you not

much but I'm a grown up you know oh you

didn't know yeah I'm a grown up all

right now I'm only five feet tall and so

there's always big people in front of me

and I can't see what's going on and

every time I met a parade I think oh

wouldn't it be wonderful if I had an eye

on the tip of my finger

up and try to imagine what it'd be like

to have an eye on the tip of your finger

good reason why I think I might try to

if you had an eye on the tip of your

finger it could really help do a lot

pocket and you would know how much money

paddles you thing

and you can tell what they could inside

it if you had an

sitting in your favorite chair it could

open your mouth point to all your teeth

mean close their noses so that nothing

can get in I can't close my nose no

matter how I sniff in my nose doesn't

really close out they're tight

I can name one it closes up its nose so

that sand can't get in what do you think

show you it's a camel a camel closes up

his nose so the blowing sand cannot get

it now there's another animal that can

close up his nose so tight that water

can't get in can you guess what it is I

won't tell uh-uh

my lips are sealed oh I told you it's a

seal a seal closes up his nose so that

no water can get in now there are other

animals that can do that too for example

the beaver is another animal that can

close up as no so water can't get in how

do I know cuz just the other day oh I

was so lucky a beaver came to visit no

no no this is not a fur coat no this is

favorite this is a gorgeous beaver from

the San Diego Wild Animal Park no you're

not gonna wiggle away from me and I have

her sitting on her tail because that's

the way they're supposed to sit I'm

feeding her stuff so that she will sit

and did you know that beavers are the

national animal of Canada we have them

in the United States too

but they really love him in Canada and

there's so much for me to tell you about

this beaver she feels wonderful it's

like a furry meatloaf it's terrific

um

her tail is all scaly like a reptile and

she uses it in the water as a rudder

because she is a water creature she's

kind of clumsy on land would you take a

look at her two hind legs can you see

the feet they're webbed

so that she kicks through the water just

the way you do when you swim or the way

you will when you learn to swim her two

front legs are teeny for holding ouch

for holding stuff the ouch was because

she bit my finger

she has incisor teeth and she has to

keep chewing on stuff all the time twigs

bark food otherwise your teeth grow very

long and they really hurt her and can

k*ll her something wonderful her eyes

closed over with a membrane when she

goes underwater her nose closes up and

here here eat eat and look at these ears

can you see the ears absolutely close up

she becomes like a submarine like a

Tupperware all filled up and she can

stay underwater now you're not gonna

believe this but the people from the San

Diego Wild Animal Park told me so so I'm

sure it's true she can say underwater 15

minutes but don't you try it

is ugly my picture was so good has your

what's the matter with my painting I

can't tell what it is it's supposed to

its modern art I call it after dawn I

suppose you can do better I already did

painting it's Maude Renaud Oh modern art

well you know with modern art everybody

sees something different in the picture

would you tell me about it

yes a son is coming through the dark

clouds well that's that's very

interesting I can see that let me look

at that thing now it looks like a plate

of old spaghetti to me well I really

like it I do I mean I think you've got

promised the color the form the design I

really like it you're not just saying

that to make me feel good that's what I

think yeah no I like it and I'd like to

buy it and hang it in the living room

hmm I think that's a good idea

hanging is too good for that picture if

I took a button and I stuck a string

right through one of the holes one end

of the string is coming right through

and then I took the same end and stuck

it through the hole that is across from

it not the whole alongside of it but the

one that's across from it and I just

pull it rest of the way through now I'm

gonna put down the button I'm going to

tie the two ends of my piece of string

together and I'm gonna make a loop there

we go we have a loop now do you know

what I've made you can make one too it's

like a top it's a button spinner you get

the button in the middle and with a

button spinner the way to play with it

is to spin it you wind it very carefully

away from your face so that it's not

going to hit you in the nose you wind it

around and around and around and around

and around and you'll keep winding it up

because what you are going to do when

it's all round ups pull your hands apart

and then let them go together and it

will keep winding and unwinding itself I

think I have done it

are you ready there we go pull release

and pull and race and it's spins and it

spins and it spins at each time it winds

itself up so that you can play with this

for ages and ages and keep it twirling

twirling my button excuse me boys

have you seen lamb chop oh you can this

year she is adorable you know there's

something deep down inside me which says

that lamb chop is going to be a famous

artist when she grows up

maybe it's the hot dog for lunch do you

think she'll still talk to us cause she

will why wouldn't she she won't talk to

us now you're kidding no no she's

smoothie she thinks she's better than us

what makes you say that

she came up to us and she said I'm

better than you oh now come on that

this was the no terrible awful

disgusting art show it was horrible

that you have discovered something that

you like to do

yeah there's nothing that says you got

to be good at it yeah but I want to be

good at it

because I want to be a famous so I guess

yeah but you know darling most artists

study their art and work at it for years

and years and years and years until

other people recognized that they are

good and give them money yes sir

you thank you for inviting the whole

school over to see your art show I just

sold ten of my paintings oh yeah I could

have sold more but we ran out of ketchup

it's bet your time it's picture time as

though I've never met you

here goes can you draw a circle can you

draw a dot in the middle of a circle if

you can do that you can do this betcha

cuz you say to your friend I bet you

that I can draw a circle there's a

circle with a dot in the middle without

lifting my pen and your friend will say

how can you do that and then you show

how here's how you take your paper and

you fold up one corner so that you make

a flap there's a good flap now right off

that corner right off that corner you

make a dot and without lifting your pen

you gotta keep the pen down there you go

you make a straight line and you

continue circling around until you get

to the flap without lifting your pen you

pull back the flap and you can continue

circling till you've completed your

circle and what did you do you made a

circle with a dot in the middle and you

didn't lift your pen

if you'll only try it you know there's

lots of ways to tell a story you can

tell it with words I did that all the

time or you can sing a story or you can

tell a story with your hands you've

never heard my hands talk aren't you

watching well I'm gonna tell you a story

today no I'm not gonna tell you what

story it is you have to figure that out

now the story is going to be told with

this cast of characters see here is

Flopsy and Mopsy and here is Peter Caen

Cottontail oh now you figured out it's

Peter Rabbit there's Peter and

Cottontail now this is mother see let me

hold it up so you can see the mother

she's all Lacy and pretty and mother is

joined in this play by farmer McGregor

and boy has he worked you can see how

hard he works in the garden now beside

farmer McGregor what do you think this

is can you figure that out you see it's

a tree no it's an upside-down tree it's

gonna be right side up when we do the

play but here are the leaves and this is

the trunk and all the SAP is running to

his head so I better put him down and

get him ready get ready all you guys and

last but certainly not least in Farmer

McGregor's garden we have radishes

carrots and beans when you set the scene

for your play with gloves you can draw

your stage set on a roll of paper

toweling you can and then you can just

roll out the stage set like this

and on with the show once upon a time

there were four little rabbits

their names were Flopsy Mopsy Cottontail

they lived with their mother in a

sandbank next to a big fir tree mother

rabbit said I'm going to the bakery to

get some bagels your children may go

down the lane to pick berries

but do not go to mama the breakers calm

mother rabbit took a basket and off she

went to the bakery Flopsy Mopsy and

Cottontail went down the lane to pick

berries but not Peter

uh-uh Peter ran to Farmer McGregor's

garden he wiggled under the garden gate

in the Contin he saw carrots beans and

radishes said Peter to himself Irish

green beans so he ate a bunch of carrots

he ate some beans

he ate lots of radishes he ate at he ate

and he ate Peter ate so much but he felt

sick and he fell asleep

Along Came Farmer McGregor yes farmer

McGregor who shouted I'll get you you

pesky rabbit Peter was so friend he

couldn't remember where the gate was he

ran back poor farmer McGregor chased him

Peter ran into the toolshed he had to

hide to jumped into a pan full of water

Peter felt wet and cold he shivered and

then he sneezed John sneezed Peter and

then he sneezed again Joe

farmer McGregor heard the sneeze he ran

into the toolshed mutton Peter heard him

coming now the toolshed had a little

window

Peter wiggled through that little window

just in time

farmer McGregor could not get through

the window the window was too small

finally farmer McGregor went back to his

garden Peter was tired and wet

looked around she saw the gate tired

when he got him he flopped down on the

floor to rest he didn't feel well Peter

could not eat his supper but Flopsy

Mopsy and Cottontail ate the fresh

bagels that mother rabbit brought home

from the bakery mother rabbit put Peter

to bed

she said Peter you'll feel better soon

and do you know what

he did

this is the letter n yay and this does

the letter o why are you always so

negative when we get together I am NOT

aren't - I am NOT ask you folks if they

have any old sandpaper sand paper is

used to make stuff smooth because

sandpaper is very rough really rough and

so when you rub it against things it

smooths out any bumps but what it does

with crayons is he grabs the crayon and

makes crowns very look very bright watch

so you can press very hard and get a

colorful block or in other spots you can

press very lightly and get a shadow of

color here I played a little bit if I

can pick it up there and I got some

wonderful designs of a bright color

silly song and you can be silly along

with us all you do is repeat everything

that we say after we say it are you

ready
