and someone that helped build

one of the best clubs in the league.

then you suddenly can find yourself

I need a team of wolves."

They have to fight for everything.

They don't got anything.

They have to find the food,

the water and everything else.

And I said, "This is the team

we wanna create. A team full of wolves."

We're still short a couple of wolves.

The only trouble with wolves…

They're untrainable.

You're the coach. That's not my problem.

Dean is a well-respected

Premier League coach.

Dean is certainly a name,

which is very, very important.

He is someone that will make

the outside world take notice

and suddenly realize,

"Okay, Dean is a smart guy.

He's a good coach, so if he thinks

Charlotte is good enough for him,

okay, it might be good enough

for some other players to come."

I wasn't looking to come into the MLS,

I must admit.

Right, just gonna review the game

I'd been offered a number of jobs

in the UK,

and I got a call about the Charlotte job.

We wanted to jump and press,

and they played in behind our press.

And if you remember,

you'll see the chances they get.

My initial, you know, answer to

whether I'd be interested was "no".

And then two days later,

I get a phone call saying,

"Zoran won't take 'no' for an answer."

I said, "He might have to."

There was like flat no.

There was zero chance.

I sent him a text message saying,

"Hey, Dean, I understand

that you're not particularly interested,

but I just wanna quickly catch up."

And then after one hour and ten minutes,

he basically said to me, "Let me speak

to Nicola, my wife, and my kids."

They get out and this is the danger zone.

Westy ends up getting dragged forward.

Now they're getting

in front of our back four.

And at that point, I knew I had him.

You know, as an agent,

if you take "no" too many times,

you're not going to last long

in this business.

I keep saying that he's our best finisher,

and we're struggling to score goals.

He just gets caught offside too much.

Be it with the transfer window

coming to the close,

goal-scoring has been our Achilles' heel.

Charlotte's looking to turn around

their meager goal production.

If we can go and get the right players

in now, and sprinkle a bit of stardust,

I think we can do really well.

John Thorrington, the brass at LAFC,

came in and came with a bang.

BMO Stadium is rocking in Los Angeles.

Our supporters have been there

from day zero

who helped build this together

and really inculcated a culture

and an identity to what we see today.

One of the best fan bases in this league

and one of the best stadiums.

It was a collaborative exercise

with the supporters,

who we would say

are the key stakeholders at LAFC.

Whether it's the stadium,

whether it's the star power,

they have Los Angeles buying in.

They connect with the whole stadium.

They get loud, everybody get loud.

When you talk about successes,

the reigning Western Conference champions,

they've been to back-to-back MLS cups,

winning it in 2022,

as well as winning the double that year

by winning the Supporters' Shield.

What they've done in terms of how many

trophies they've won

in such a short amount of time,

it is incredible.

It's a city of stars,

and certainly you see that

in our amazing owners.

we've had a lot of guys
