[Eva, Humphrey]

- You all look pretty excited.
- [giggles]

- Yeah, we are. We are!
- [laughing]

- Let me guess. Is it pinecone pizza night?
- [cooing]

[Humphrey, Eva] Yeah! [cheering, laughing]

Hopefully your dad will be home soon from
his mail route so we can start cooking.

-"We"? [giggles] There's no "we," Mom.
- [Humphrey chuckles]

It's all Dad.

He has to make the pinecone pizza.

He does it the best.

The best.

[chuckles]

That is true.

- [gasps] Is that him? Is it Dad?
- [gasps]

Nope. Just some fireflies.

- [branch rustles]
- Is that him?

[Humphrey] Nah, just a squirrel.

- Aw.
- [door opens]

[both gasp] Yay! You're home!

- [exclaiming, giggling]
- [chuckles] What a nice welcome.

[yawns]

Long day?

[yawns, chuckles] Yes, indeedy.
I am pretty tired.

Why are you so tired, Dad?

Well, this used to be
my mail route around Treetopington,

but now I'm delivering mail
to the owls in Pine Forest too.

Takes a lot longer,
so I get home later than I used to.

[chuckles] I need to sit down.

But you can't sit now.

- [Mo babbling]
- It's...

♪ Pinecone pizza night ♪

[chuckling] Oh. I'm sorry.

It's a little late to start making
pinecone pizza from scratch.

[yawns]

We'll do it tomorrow night,
if I can get home in time, okay?

How about
some leftover cashew quesadillas tonight?

- Sounds good, Mom.
- [Mo coos, giggles]

Oh. [chuckles] Thanks, Humphrey.

That's comfy.

- But...
- [Dad snoring]

♪ Pinecone pizza night ♪

Diary, Dad's new mail route is so long.

Now he's too tired
for pinecone pizza night.

Too bad he can't deliver the mail faster
so he can get home sooner.

Hmm.

[gasps] That's it!

- [snoring continues]
- Hey, Dad.

I'm going to help speed up your mail route
so you can get home earlier

and you won't be so tired.

Great idea, right?

[Dad chuckles] Mmm.

I'll mark that down as a "yes."

And tomorrow night will be...

- Psst. Dad.
- [Dad snoring]

Hey, Dad.

- Dad, wake up!
- [Dad] Oh!

- [yawns]
- [chuckles]

Eva? What time is it?

Time to start work. You and me.

Let's deliver the mail quick, quick, quick

and be home in time
for you to make pinecone pizza.

[yawns]

[chuckling]
Well, it's a little early to start work.

I... I haven't even had my breakfast yet.

[Eva] Breakfast. Check.

[chuckles] Okay.

- Then let's just get a cup of...
- Sunflower tea with a drop of honey?

- Check.
- [laughs]

Then let's go to work,
mail-delivery partner.

- [Baxter squeals]
- You coming, Baxter?

- [grumbles]
- [laughs]

[snoring]

It's our job to make sure
all this mail gets delivered.

We've got a package for Mr. Swoopington.

Eva. Mr. Wingdale. Nice to see you.

Hi, Mr. Swoopington.

Delivery for you.

[gasps] A present from my sister.

It's a pan flute.

Just like the ones we played together
when we were kids.

[playing complex melody]

Come on, Eva. [laughs] Dance with me.

- Wow! Whoo-hoo! [laughing]
- [Dad laughs, hoots]

Oh.

- [both laughing]
- [song ends]

That was awesome!

[Dad, Eva laughing]

Thank you for delivering this package.
It means the world to me.

See? That's how you deliver the mail.

Flaptastic.

Now, let's deliver the rest super fast

so we can get home
and make pinecone pizza.

[laughs] All right.

[chattering, chuckling]

- [gasps]
- [exclaims]

- Ah.
- [Eva giggles]

[Dad] There.

[exclaims]

That's all the mail for Treetopington.

[exhales heavily]

That was a lot of mail.

Want to stop for a quick snack break?

Fuel up for all the mail
we have to deliver to Pine Forest.

Snack break? [chuckles] No way.

I want to be super hungry
for pinecone pizza night.

[laughs] Okay, then.

Let's deliver the mail to Pine Forest,
and then we can head home.

Yes!

All right, Pine Forest.

Eva's here
to deliver all your mail super-duper fast!

Well, there's quite a bit of mail
to deliver to all these houses.

- I don't know how fast it'll be.
- Hmm.

Maybe if we split it up,
we can get it done faster.

And you won't be too tired
for pinecone pizza.

[chuckles]

That's a nice idea.

- Here you go, mail-delivery partner.
- Thanks.

[chuckles]

[gasps] Whoa!

[hoots]

[Eva giggles]

Hmm. [grunts]

- Huh?
- [exclaims] Whew.

Whew.

- Hurry, hurry, hurry!
- [panting]

[straining, grunting]

- [shouts, gasps]
- [gasps]

[exclaims]
The mail! I dropped it all over the place.

[chuckles] It's okay.

I drop the mail sometimes too.

But it's getting later and later,
and I just gave us more work to do.

[Dad sighs]

It is gonna take a while.

We're not gonna make it home in time
for pinecone pizza night, are we?

I'm really sorry, Eva.

It's just getting really late.

But maybe we can do it tomorrow.

[sighs] It's okay.

Let's pick up this mail.

[sighs]

Diary, I'm so disappointed.

We worked really hard
and went really fast,

but pinecone pizza night
isn't gonna happen after all.

Almost done.

Thanks.

Mrs. Nestor's hatchday is coming up.
This must be a present for her.

Oh.

Aw. A postcard for Mr. and Mrs. Eggbert
from their grandowlets.

That will make them so happy.

It sure will.

All this mail is so important to everyone.

Like Mr. Swoopington's flute
or Mrs. Nestor's hatchday present.

[chuckles] It's all part of the job.

Dad, I knew you delivered the mail,

but I had no idea you delivered presents
and music and happiness.

Aw, thanks, Eva.

And it takes so much hard work.

You find all the houses
and open super stuck mailboxes.

You're amazing.

You're pretty amazing too, Eva.

I couldn't have asked for
a better mail-delivery partner.

And I'm sorry about it being too late
for pinecone pizza night.

[Eva] Mmm.

Maybe it's not too late.

Is it okay if I fly home now?
There's something I want to do.

Oh, sure thing, kiddo.
I can finish up the rest.

So, how was delivering the mail with Dad?

Dad's a hero to the owls of Treetopington
and Pine Forest.

- [Mo giggles]

But Dad makes it the best.

We can still give it a try.

- Dad deserves it.
- [Humphrey] Yeah.

- Great idea.
- [Baxter, Mo cheer]

I think Dad does it like this?

Mm-mmm. Dad's doesn't have a hole in it.

It's more like this.

- Hmm.
- [Mom strains]

How on earth does your father break these
into crunchy little pieces?

- [gasps]
- [crashes]

[Baxter babbles]

Add some pepper...

[sneezes]

- [giggles]
- [groans]

[Humphrey, Mom straining]

[Humphrey] Whoa!

- [Mom whimpers]
- It doesn't exactly look like Dad's.

Doesn't even look like pizza.

Uh, might be too many pine cones.

There. That's better.

- In you go, lumpy...
- ...peppery pizza...

- ...thingy.
- [all chuckle]

[Mo giggles, coos]

Diary, delivering the mail
takes lots of hard work...

- [Mom] Look at that.
- ...and so does making pinecone pizza.

[Mom]
How do you think it's gonna turn out?

And Dad does it all.

At first, I wanted him home
to make pizza for me,

but now I'm so glad he's out there
delivering the mail

- to owls who really need it.
- [door opens, closes]

- [gasps]
- [Mo coos]

- What's happening in here?
- [babbles, giggles]

[Mom, Eva, Humphrey]
♪ Pinecone pizza night ♪

[Baxter, Mo giggling, babbling]

We made it just for you, Dad.

Wow.

- I really do have the best family ever.
- [Mo giggles]

[stammers]
But I thought you needed me to make it.

You've already done so much for everyone.

Now it's our turn to do something for you.

- [oven timer dings]
- It's ready!

- [Eva, Mom, cheer]
- [Mo giggling]

[Mom squeals]

Guess it's not exactly like yours.

Nope. It's better,
because it was made by all of you.

Now let's eat.

- [Dad, Baxter cheer]
- [Mom laughs]

- [Eva] Whoa.
- [Dad] Awesome!

[Baxter exclaims]

- [Dad] Mmm.
- It's different, but I like it.

Kinda weird, but I think it's good.

[laughs]

It's perfect.

[sneezes]

Too much pepper.

[all laughing]

[Eva] "Treetopington Times."

- [Mom] Whoo-hoo-hoo!
- [Eva, Baxter laughing]

- Great night for a fly, huh, Baxter?
- [exclaims]

[both laugh]

Hey, how about we stop
for some seeds-on-a-stick?

- [Baxter exclaims]
- Yum.

- Good idea, Mom.
- [Baxter cheers]

- [Quinn] Jolly good. Yes.
- [customers laughing]

- Can I try the special?
- Well, of course.

[Quinn] Scrumptious!

[gasps] Oh, no. My last jar of seeds!

- [all gasp]
- I'll get it!

[grunts]

- I caught it.
- [all cheering]

What wing-eye coordination.

Wow. Thanks, Eva.

If you hadn't saved those seeds,

I would've had to close
for the rest of the night.

And I wouldn't have been able to eat
my favorite snack.

Eva saved snack time.

- I am so proud of you.
- [Quinn] Ah! [chuckles]

Every owl in town should hear about this.
It should be in the newspaper.

Really?

Really. The Treetopington Times
often celebrates helpful owls.

You see, here's a story about
a helpful owl who cleaned up the birdbath.

Tomorrow they could write about
how you helped save snack time.

- [Eva gasps]
- And thank goodness you did.

- [Lyla] Yay!
- Yeah.

Me? In the paper?

That would be flaptastic!

- [customers, Baxter cheer]
- [Mr. Swoopington, Mom, Eva laugh]

Oh, let's get a picture of you
for the newspaper.

Say "seeds."

[both] Seeds.

[camera shutter clicks]

"Spectacular Seed Rescue. Eva saves
snack time for all of Treetopington."

- [Mo babbling]
- [all laughing]

[coos, giggles]

- Way to go, kiddo.
- Thanks.

- [Mo babbles]
- [Dad chuckling]

Diary, guess who's the big news
in Treetopington?

[squeals] It's me!

I'm on the front page of the newspaper.

I wonder if anyone else in town
has seen my story.

[no audible dialogue]

[humming]

- There's my little seed-saver.
- [gasps]

I'm framing your newspaper story
so we can hang it up on the wall.

Mom, can I be in the newspaper
again tomorrow?

Well, the newspaper shares new stories
each night.

They can be stories about helpful owls,
like you,

or owls doing something
that's never been done before...

Then I'm going to do something new
to get in the newspaper.

- Can I borrow your camera?
- Of course.

- Thanks, Mom.
- [door opens]

- [laughs]
- [door closes]

- [Kiera] Let's go!
- [Jacob] Yay!

You got this, Jacob.

- [grunts]
- [grunts]

- Come on.
- Aw.

So close.

- Hi, Eva.
- Hi. What are you playing?

We're trying to flap the owlball

all the way over
the world's largest pine cone.

[laughs] Wow.

Wait.

Has anyone ever done that before?

I've never seen anyone do it.

Me neither.

Your turn, Kiera.

- You got this.
- Diary,

no one's ever flapped the owlball
over the pine cone before.

If I can do it,
I'll be in the newspaper for sure,

and everyone will read about me again!

Aw.

- Can I try?
- Sure.

- And can you take my picture?
- Sure?

[breathing sharply]

All right, pine cone.

This owlball is gonna fly right over you.

Here we go.

[both grunt]

[camera shutter clicks]

Wait. That was just a warm-up.

- Can I try again?
- Why not?

Let's go!

♪ Here we go, Eva
Here we go ♪

[strains, grunts]

- [Kiera, Jacob] Whoa.
- [camera shutter clicks]

Aw, squirrels, not even close.

- That's okay.
- [sighs]

It's really hard to do.

Guess that's why
no one's ever done it before.

If I want to get into the paper,
I've gotta find a new thing to do.

[Carlos] Eva! Eva!

Hi, Eva. I saw you in the newspaper.

I loved reading about your seed save.

Thanks.

[sighs] But soon that's gonna be old news.

I've gotta figure out something to do
that no owl has ever done before.

- We can help you come up with something.
- Really?

There are lots of acorns around here.

Maybe you could balance a bunch of them
on your wings.

Ooh. I like that.

Yeah! Yeah!

W-While walking
all the way across this branch.

I've never seen anyone do that before.

Then I'm gonna do it.

Newspaper, here I come.

Sue, can you take a photo?

Sure thing.

- Let's get stacking acorns.
- Yeah!

Wow. So many acorns.

- [Sue exclaims]
- Newspaper, here I come.

[groans] My wings.
So tired from hitting that owlball.

[groans]

One more?

Uh, put it on my head?

[groans]

[whimpers]

[straining] All right. Ready.

- Come on, Eva! Yeah!
- Yay! Come on, Eva!

Whoa!

[yelps, whimpers]

Whoa. [gasps]

Whoa! Oh.

Whoa, no, no, no, no!

- [shutter clicks]
- Aw.

Aw. That was a great try.

[sighs] That didn't work.

Sorry, Eva.

[Eva huffs]

- Want to come join our picnic?
- Maybe later.

[sighs]

Diary, bad news.

All my plans to do something
no owl has done before

came crashing to the ground.

[sighs]

I'm so disappointed I'm not going to be
in the newspaper again.

[sniffing]

- Something smells good.
- [Carlos] Mmm.

Would you like a snack?

Thanks.

[sighs] I really wish I'd been able to do
something to get in the newspaper.

Mmm.

Yummy.

Wow. No, double yummy.

Mmm. This is the most scrumptiously
flaptastic bread I've ever tasted.

It's a brand-new recipe we came up with.
Pumpkin seed bread.

Yeah. No one's ever made
this kind of bread before.

No one? Are you sure?

We thought of the idea
to add pumpkin seeds for a tasty crunch.

- It's a brand-new flavor!
- [chuckles]

[whimpers]

Carlos. [whimpers] Sue. [groans]

Maybe... [whimpers] ...you two should be
in the Treetopington Times.

We can share the recipe
with the whole town!

Eva, can you take our picture
with the bread?

Oh. W-Well...

Then everyone can see
how delicious it looks.

Say "pumpkin seeds."

- [both] Pumpkin seeds!
- [shutter clicks]

[Dad] Oh.

"Sue and Carlos bake
brand-new super scrumptious bread."

- [Mo giggling]
- [gasps] Look.

It even has the recipe
so we can make it ourselves.

- [Mo giggles]
- That bread sounds ultra delicious.

- [cooing]
- [Eva sighs]

Is something wrong, sweetie?

I just kinda wish the story was about me.

I understand.

[knocks]

[both] We're in the newspaper!

[both giggle]

It was no problem.

I brought my mom the picture,

and she told
the Treetopington Times all about it.

This is so cool!

[sniffing]

- [Sue sniffing]
- [Carlos sniffing] Mmm.

- [laughing]

your bread recipe in the newspaper.

We baked it, and it's delicious.

[Jacob, Kiera laugh]

[chuckles] Wow.

Your bread is making everyone so happy.

- This is incredible.
- [Eva, Carlos laugh]

Sue, Carlos, thanks for your recipe.

This bread is so scrumptious
and pumpkin-y. [giggles]

- Yes, please.
- Sure.

Diary, great news.

I don't need the newspaper story
to be about me.

[Sue] Yum!

What goes in the paper are
stories that make owls' lives better.

[Carlos, Sue exclaiming]

- [Eva] Like Sue and Carlos's recipe.
- [Lucy] I had so much fun baking it.

Now the whole town gets to eat
super yummy pumpkin seed bread.

Mmm. Yummy!
