Fourteen days ago,

sixteen Americans came
to New Zealand, each of them

driven up the mountain
for a different reason.

I'm taking on this challenge

MANU:

JEANNIE:

MANU:
Jeannie is the last mother
on the mountain.

Our kids are gonna look back

"I can't believe
my mother did this."

I've always been there
for everybody, and now

I need this for me.

MANU:
Therron's gamer instincts

have proven indispensable
during his ascent.

He's faced adversity
in his life,

and conquered his fears
on the mountain.

As a former athlete,
Nick's physical ability

has never been a concern,

but the soft mound
of a baseball diamond

is nothing like the jagged peaks
of this New Zealand mountain.

NICK:
[grunts] I can't do it.

I've always felt like
I have just came up short

of so many things
in my entire life.

That was the hardest thing
I've ever done.

This is the major leagues
for me.

This may be one of my last shots
to really make it.

MANU:
Punkin has a brave past

that no one knows about.

MANU:
Her Air Force training
has enabled her to soar.

BECKYLEE:
[whoops] Good job, Punkin.

MANU:
Her and her wife's dream
of children

has created
an unyielding resolve.

PUNKIN:
We want to do IVF, and IVF

is very expensive,

and so, if I win that money,

it'll definitely
go towards that.

MANU:
Tonight,

the group enters
the final, icy stretch.

and prove themselves worthy

MANU:
And what will happen
when the mountain's keeper

reveals a final test?

a shocking reckoning awaits.

-DENNIS: We were waiting

MANU:

from the mountain.

'cause I'm here to ruin lives.

MANU:
Because as I warned them...

[Punkin screaming]

[wind whistling]

PUNKIN:
It's the last day.

-JEANNIE: Yeah!
-[Punkin whoops]

-NICK: Day 14.
-JEANNIE: To the summit today.

Isn't that, like,
almost surreal?

It's insane.

NICK:
I'm nervous. I don't know

if we're gonna have to vote
somebody out,

if we all four make it,
if two or one of us make it.

There's just so many unknowns.

This is the major leagues,
and anticipation

right now is k*lling me.

-Last night was our last night
in a tent.
-JEANNIE: Ah, yeah.

-THERRON: Thank the Lord. Yeah.
-NICK: Let's get on the road.

-PUNKIN: Last night in a tent.
-NICK: For life.

-JEANNIE [laughs]: Yeah.
-PUNKIN: Today's hike

up to the summit
is gonna be our hardest

that we've done yet.

-PUNKIN: We got this.
-JEANNIE: We got this.
-NICK: Let's do it, guys.

PUNKIN:
On top of that, time is ticking.

THERRON: You ready?

JEANNIE: This is it, guys.

-The summit!
-THERRON: [whoops] We're coming.

MANU: Starting on the valley
floor, the final four

have battled an unforgiving
gauntlet of obstacles

and conquered
treacherous terrain.

Now, with only five hours left
before their sunset deadline,

they must finish the last leg
of their 14-day journey

by climbing a steep incline
of deep snow

or risk losing

the near $750,000

in their backpacks.

However, one final test remains.

At this altitude,
looks can be deceiving.

Sometimes when you think
you've reached your goal,

the end is still so far away.

NICK:
Damn, man. We're up here.
It's hitting me a little bit.

JEANNIE:
Since day one,

I've been, like,
"The summit-- what would that

look like?"
And I'm almost there.

NICK:
Last push, guys.

JEANNIE:
I keep falling through!

You got to have somebody
in this game that you trust.

At least one person.

My loyalty's gonna be with Nick.

Sometimes, you just
have to pick a person

that supported you
from the beginning.

-PUNKIN: We just
got to push, y'all.
-NICK: Geez, I'm beat.

THERRON:
I don't know if this is working,

but I'm trying to kick
my toes in.

PUNKIN:
After last night,
when Beckylee said my name,

I am definitely questioning
my relationships,

and I need to change
my strategy.

-You got this, Punkin.
-PUNKIN: I need to have trust
in the people

that I'm playing this game with.

So, Nick telling me

Beckylee was coming for me

just really showed me
that I'm good with him.

THERRON:
My hands are frozen.

I am really happy with my
position in this game right now.

I have a final two with Punkin,
I have a final two with Nick,

and a final three with me,
Nick and Jeannie, so...

if the unpredictable
mountain's keeper throws in

some kind of twist,
no matter what, I'll be safe.

And I absolutely think
I can win this thing.

-NICK: You good, T?
-[panting]

Not much more to go.

-PUNKIN: Last push, y'all.
-NICK: This has to be the top.

-PUNKIN: We're almost there.
-[grunts]

[panting]

[Nick grunts]

JEANNIE:
Oh, my God.

That was exhausting.

What is this?

JEANNIE:
What the hell?

-[groans]
-NICK: I don't understand.

-NICK: What do we do?
-I don't know.

-PUNKIN: Did we choose
the wrong path?
-JEANNIE: Yeah.

THERRON:
We're not gonna be able
to go this way.

JEANNIE:
We cannot go down that.

[wind whistling]

MANU:
Now, stopped
on the edge of a cliff...

...an insurmountable valley

stands between the final four
and the summit.

There's only so much room
at the top,

and every decision

comes at a cost.

JEANNIE:
What are we gonna do?

PUNKIN:
Uh-oh.

-What?
-JEANNIE: Oh, my God.

NICK:
No way.

NICK:
Oh, we're all attached.

-PUNKIN: Yeah,
we're all tied up.
-Yep.

-THERRON: Grab it.
-JEANNIE: Oh,

I hope
it's something to help us.

-THERRON: You got it?
-[grunts]

-PUNKIN: All right.
-NICK: Come on.

JEANNIE:

I would like to do it.

NICK:
The mountain keeper's

kind of a little bit
of a wild card, so...

I want to go first, but if
I challenge Punkin too much,

and she still goes,
she could be questioning

my loyalty to her,

so I have to be very careful
how much I push

because it could
cost me my game.

I would like to lead...
if y'all trust me enough to...

-NICK: So one person
holds the money?
-It's... Yeah.

-PUNKIN: Yeah?

My military background
means that I am able

to be mentally resilient,
and doing all these obstacles,

it's almost like my mission,
and it's just something

that we have to do in order

to reach the summit in time.

THERRON:

PUNKIN:

[shouts, screams]

PUNKIN:

I just landed safely.

THERRON:

that's left is not going

to make it to the summit.

In my mind, I'm just going

through relationships
that I've built.

Go ahead and prepare
for the long line.

but I know I just
have to go with my gut,

We're all making it

Nick called Therron over, and,

like, crying a little bit.

I just-- I keep thinking
about what we did to Bo.

There's so many twists
and turns to this game...

[Therron squeals]

JEANNIE:
...that you get nervous
every time you're left behind.

[Therron groans]

I just hope he calls my name.

[sobbing]

THERRON:
This is gonna crush her.

Jeannie, this is Therron.

Please tell me some good news.

[sobbing]:
I'm sorry, Jeannie.

Who made the decision
for the last person to come over

and bring that person over?

Each person that landed
chose the next person.

All right. I just thought

[sighs]

It really sucks sitting up here,
knowing I was so...

NICK:
I would not have survived
the Becky vote without Therron.

I owe him

for me still being here,

but nothing has changed
with you and I, Jeannie.

I hope you know that.

I could never do that.

I was, like, 100% on your side.

and I gave it my all.

And just to come here, to be
here on top of the mountain,

so close, but not be able
to reach the summit.

I'm just really disappointed

in myself and...

I'll be thinking about it
for the rest

of my life.

[sniffles]

NICK:
This decision

has been completely
ripped from me,

and I have no control.

THERRON:
This feels like blood money.

NICK:
I would have taken
Jeannie to the top,

no doubt about it.

PUNKIN:

That was tough.

NICK:
Jeannie, I hope

MANU:
The mountain now ends

another member's journey.

But for these final three
everyday Americans...

...the summit
is almost in reach.

straight up, it looks like.

NICK:
Yeah, we got it.

THERRON:
Yeah. [exhales]

[Nick and Punkin grunt]

PUNKIN:
Slowly but surely,
we're making it.

Y'all, this is tough.

Yeah.

We didn't come this far
just to come this far.

THERRON:
We're almost at the top.

-NICK: Is that a note?
-PUNKIN: Another note.

THERRON:

At the beginning,
I was super nervous

that I wouldn't be able to show

my full potential,
so it's almost...

surreal that I'm about
to be at the end of the journey.

my brothers..."

I am an indoor gaming nerd,

but I was able to come out here
and play with the best of 'em.

The experience to go

through such hard times
and just kind of

getting to know who you
really are is life-changing.

And I think that
this experience showed me

that everything that I've always
thought about myself is true.

I was born for this.

I came out here with a goal.

I accomplished that goal.

Where I come from,

people don't get
a lot of opportunities.

And I've been very blessed

to get this opportunity
to come out here

and compete
and show the world who I am.

to just push through

every adversity, and...
