between worlds.
So, she created a machine
and tried everything,
including herself.
The gods wanted a stronger link.
A child.
All warned her of the risk.
Foolishly, she did not listen.
It seemed she had no choice.
And so, she offered her own heart.
It worked and the doorway was sealed.
Ife was safe again.
However, the gods reminded
the woman of her oath.
Her heart was theirs.
The loss was too much for her to bear
and so she made another vow.
She wouldn't rest
until she saved her heart.
