[Keegan] I'm always looking for
extra things to motivate me,

and I have a lot
to prove to myself,

and I always feel like I'm trying to
prove myself to the… to the golfing world

and showed, you know, maybe
I would've been a nice fit

for some of these teams
that I didn't get on.

And so the Presidents Cup is
something that I really wanna play in.

It would mean everything
to make the team.

I can't go through what
I went through last year.

Gonna try my very
hardest, like I always do.

I feel like every
week is do or die.

[suspenseful music playing]

Less than a year ago, you
can't imagine the despair

and the dejection that
was felt by Keegan Bradley

when he was left off
the Ryder Cup team.

And you would expect

that if Keegan Bradley was
to win this championship,

how could you leave him off
the Presidents Cup team?

[cheering and applause]

happens every other year,

United States Team

against the rest of the
world, minus Europe.

to the Ryder Cup,

This is the ultimate
global showdown.

You're playing for your country,
for pride, and for your teammates.

And it's a pressure a lot of
these guys are just not used to.

[commentator] The Presidents Cup
belongs to the United States.

[Keegan] I'm trying my hardest
not to get too wrapped up in this.

I'd love to be on the team.

[Balionis] There's a lot on the
line in a Presidents Cup year

when Team USA is coming off
a loss at the Ryder Cup.

These guys are
feeling really fiery.

They feel like they
have something to prove.

For the International Team, they
will be considered the underdogs

until they finally get
that breakthrough win.

[Camilo] The US is extremely
strong when it comes to golf,

and the International Team
has not won in many years,

and we wanna change that.

[dramatic music playing]

moments away from learning

who will complete the teams
for Jim Furyk and Mike Weir.

I'm curious to see who's
riding into battle today.

We'll start with International
Team Captain Mike Weir,

and then we'll go to US Team
Captain Jim Furyk. Mike?

have up to six Canadians on this team,

but they have to
earn their way in."

All of Canada is going to be wanting
as many Canadians as possible.

[Mike] Super excited
to announce my picks.

We have Christiaan
Bezuidenhout from South Africa.

A rookie, Min Woo Lee.

Another veteran in Si Woo Kim.

And then we have the Canadians.

Corey Conners.

We have Taylor Pendrith.

The last Canadian
is Mackenzie Hughes.

As Mike mentioned,

Presidents Cup's list.

Just very excited to get
this going, you know,

against a good rival, good
friend, Jim. Captain Furyk here.

Uh, we're very aware that
we're in an away game.

We're very aware that 99% of this
crowd is not gonna be pulling for us.

I'm excited about the 12 guys I got.
I think they have to be ready for it.

[Jim] It means a
lot to everyone,

and, uh, I've got 12 guys that are
jacked up and excited, which is fun.

[Keegan] We were in our
bedroom when Jim called?

[Jillian] Mm-hmm.

And I think I told you,

which I meant, like, if he called
and said I wasn't on the team,

I would've understood.

I was, like, almost half
expecting it, to be honest.

He could have easily
not picked me.

I told him a million
times how thankful I am.

[Keegan] I promised
myself, after last year,

I was gonna take a step back

and not be super hyper-focused
on making these teams,

because when we
didn't make that team,

it took a lot out of me, but it also
took a lot out of Jillian, the family.

way to say this, my friend.

I find it just best to go in a
different direction this year.

It's so rewarding that he's
finally being put in a light

that I've always seen and known

and, like, haven't ever doubted
for, like, a second. You know?

I think, like, in
life, in any job,

some people work as
hard as they can.

They put everything
into what they're doing.

They make sacrifices. They
sacrifice for their family.

They do all this stuff, but
don't always get the payoff.

So when you do get the
opportunity, it feels really great.

be an assistant captain,

second time at the
Presidents Cup.

[in English] Camilo Villegas, he is one of
the more beloved players on the PGA TOUR.

Camilo Villegas,

champion on the PGA TOUR.

[Balionis] Multiple-time
winner on the PGA TOUR,

has played in
multiple team events.

He's just really well
respected all the way around.

[commentator] Camilo Villegas
is back in the winner's circle.

The Latin players
there to celebrate.

He's very current. He won
last year. He's out there.

He was in a lot of the pairings
with a lot of our guys.

He was a great guy to kind of lean
on to see how guys are playing.

So choosing someone like
Camilo is a no-brainer.

But I was happy when he
called me to be an assistant.

[man chuckles] I
can tell you that.

I'm like, "f*ck, why did
you make me wait so long?"

[Tom] He's ready to go. He's
ready to fight. We need that.

And he's a very, very
important part of our team,

and for my matches, when he's right
there next to me, I feel confident.

I feel like I wanna take a b*llet for
him, and I think he's that way for us.

[Mateo speaking Spanish]

Do you want to go to the
golf course? Hit some ba*ls?

My neighbor went to the same
school that Camilo went,

so I've known him for my
whole life. [chuckles]

Mommy's not gonna be able to
eat, because she has to hold you.

You're gonna fall
from the chair.

[Camilo] Mateo is our son.

He's been a light
to us. He's been

a relief.

To kind of…

kind of add to a… add to a
broken family after we lost Mia.

[Maria] When Mia was born,
for the first time in my life,

I felt I don't need
anything else, you know?

I have everything I dreamed of,

and this little girl
just made me whole.

[Camilo] Mia, she
had great energy,

and you would've never
thought this was coming.

[Maria] When Mia was 17 months
old, she started not feeling well.

One night, she wasn't able
to sleep for the whole night,

and that night, she
started grabbing her head.

Uh, and so the next
morning, I said to Camilo,

"We have to do something.
I don't like this."

[Camilo] I had to pick up the phone
and call Barbara and Jack Nicklaus

and ask them for a little help.

The Nicklaus Children's run a few
tests, and, uh… and our lives changed.

Mia's life changed.
And a… a battle began.

[Maria] We found a
mass on Mia's brain.

She had brain and spine cancer.

And they told us, "Okay, we
need to do a surgery right now,"

to remove what they could remove
from the main brain tumor.

Unfortunately, Mia's
cancer was very aggressive.

It was a very tricky time

because it happened right with
COVID when the lockdown started.

Both of our families
are in Colombia.

Lockdown, borders are closed.

There's no way to get them here.

Welcome to Mia's room.
Smile and be happy!

[Camilo] I remember calling
my brother and looking at Mia,

giving her a hug, and just kind
of breaking… breaking apart.

Just crying. And… and…
and… and he would tell me,

"I need you to breathe."

And breathing was the only
thing that stopped my crying.

I was broken down.

She had five brain surgeries,

the strongest treatment,
chemo treatment.

Um, multiple different, you know,
tests, and all these things.

[Camilo] And, um…

after five months, uh,
she was in a better place.

She's always with
us. She's there.

It's like Mateo says.

[in Spanish] You
hit that one hard.

[Camilo in English] He
knows he has a sister.

He knows she doesn't live here
with us, but he knows she's there.

[rooster crows]

[Keegan] Logan, go deep!

Make it! Yes!

- Celebration time. Do a celebration.
- [Jillian] Do it.

- [Keegan] Ooh.
- [Jillian laughs]

- That was cool. I've never seen that one.
- That's a new one he's been working on.

Maria was one of the first gals

that I had met when I
moved here to Florida.

So welcoming and
so warm and kind.

They're really special and
important people in our lives.

- Looks like it's you and me, Coopsy!
- [Jillian] Yay!

[Jillian] That time when Mia
was sick was just so horrible.

[Keegan] My oldest
was Mia's age.

They had played together and
were growing up together.

Are you hanging on tight?

I knew this little girl was gone,
and I just… I just didn't… I…

You didn't know what to do.

I can't imagine what it was
like for Maria and Camilo.

[Jillian] Wow.

- [Cooper] Corn maze!
- [Keegan] Corn maze.

[Keegan] It brings everything
back to what's important.

Logan, put this on.

- This is stunning out here. Stunning.
- [Jillian] I know.

[Keegan] I always have somebody
barking in the back of my head,

"You're not working hard enough."
There's always a guy yelling at me,

"Somebody's working harder.
You're not good enough."

And then there's the
other guy saying,

"You're not spending enough
time with your family."

"Your boys are gonna be out of the house,
and you're gonna regret doing this."

'Cause financially, I could
stop doing this right now.

So it's a bit of a selfish
need to wanna keep going.

[Jillian] Look at his big teeth!

- [Keegan] Here. Drop it in.
- [Jillian] Oh, good try.

- Oh yay! Right down the chute.
- [Cooper] Bull's-eye!

[Keegan] It's a tough balance.

You guys, are you serious?

- [Keegan] Whoa.
- I know. Wait a minute.

I just want that moment of,
"This was all worth it."

- [Cooper] Yeah!
- [Jillian] Yeah!

[Camilo] Mia, she's
inspiring us to… to give back

to those going through
similar situations,

and now we have our Mia's
Miracles Foundation.

You know, life goes in circles.

And, um, we can sit here and talk
about all the good and bad things.

[Maria] Should it be here?

[Camilo] Mia was in this world
for a short period of time.

But, uh, her impact
is gonna be huge.

Even after losing your daughter,
we realize how fortunate we were

just being at Nicklaus Children's
with the support of the people.

Ah.

- [Mateo speaking indistinctly]
- [Maria chuckles]

I always cry at these
things. But, uh…

Um…

[man] Love you!

[Camilo sniffles] Um…

I always said I wish Mia was
here, but Mia is helping us grow.

Opening our hearts.

And it's unbelievable, the
energy that we receive,

day in, day out… [sniffles]

…um, from our friends, from our
family, from everybody that's here.

We're different people, both Camilo and
I, and we're never gonna be the same.

[woman] On your
mark, get set, go!

[Maria] But I think
his career, golf,

it's the biggest healer for him.

[Camilo] The support I
received from my peers,

from the PGA TOUR, from
the golf world was great.

Being an assistant captain
is a way to give back a bit.

[indistinct chatter]

I'm honored to be part of this
team, to try to turn things around.

[tense music playing]

[Mike] I'm very
excited, very nervous,

but that all comes with being
part of a big event like this.

the Presidents Cup. I'm excited.

I'm excited to represent the team,
to wear the black and gold shield.

It will be a very big honor.

I'm glad I didn't
bring too much stuff.

[Tom] What I love about
the Presidents Cup

is we're such an individual
sport that for that one week,

you have 12 brothers you absolutely
adore and want the best for.

- [man] Yeah! You ready to go up?
- [Tom] Yeah.

[Camilo] There's a plan in
place. There's a purpose.

I have a good feeling. I think this
team is… is… is ready to perform.

- What's going on, guys?
- [woman] Welcome!

[Camilo] If we're
gonna beat the US Team,

we need to just unite a team
from around the whole world

and try to match them as good as
possible to go fight out there.

[Wilson] For Team USA, these
guys play together all the time.

They've been competing since they
were in junior golf together,

so they know each
other very well.

The International Team, there's
a different set of challenges.

[Balionis] That is a
massive melting pot

that you have to get all on the same
page in a really short period of time.

I'm excited. I got excited.

[Min Woo] The Americans have
beaten us Internationals

probably 95% of the time.

I think we've won
once and tied once,

so hopefully this year
we can do some work.

So the poutine's supposed
to be, like, halloumi-y.

It's great.

[Mike] We're going to see the
team cabin for the first time.

Oh, oh, oh.

- Wow. This is incredible. Wow.
- Oh my goodness.

[Mike] Look how good
the pictures are.

Wow.

I don't feel like as much of an underdog,
our team, as maybe the past we have been.

I think just the
momentum we have,

we have a lot of guys really
playing well, too, which is great.

- Makes me wanna go play. Let's go.
- [laughs]

I think when it comes
to world ranking,

it's the closest we've been in…
in… in probably 20-something years.

That being said, the US
Team is a very strong team.

They seem to be favorites coming
in all these team competitions.

But we've also seen what Team
Europe has done in Ryder Cups,

and we just try to
follow their steps.

It's been a tough challenge for us
from a performance point of view,

from a history and
results point of view.

But that's why there's a big project, and
it's to… to try to turn things around.

[Dethier] Camilo is the
perfect fit as a vice captain,

in part, because he's
just a beloved player

who's seen every side
of professional golf.

But it's also fitting that
he's in this support role

for the International Team when
he has gotten so much support

from the international golf
community since losing Mia.

[woman] Okay, you guys, it is
Tuesday of the Presidents Cup,

and we have a team luncheon.

Then all the women are gonna
get hair and makeup done

so we can be glammed out and
ready for team photos tonight.

We're gonna be looking good.

I didn't realize that
Thursday was Mia's birthday.

- Yes. She would be six. So…
- How are you doing?

She's gonna be… I'm good.

- Yeah?
- Yeah. I'm good.

I know she's where she's
supposed to be, so…

I've always wondered, like, how…

[emotional music playing]

[choking up] …just,
like, how you…

not rationalize it, but
how you make sense of it.

- It's hard to put it into words.
- [Michelle] Mm-hmm.

But I know this is our mission.

This is my mission. I'm doing
what I'm supposed to be doing.

And when everything started happening,
and when the first person told me one day,

they were like, "You know,
Mia might not make it."

"And maybe the best thing for her
is, like, she'll go to Heaven."

And in that moment, I was like,
"No. I'll die… I'll die with her."

"I'll die with her."

- [mouths] Yeah.
- And, um, I thought my life would be over.

But then you think about
what would Mia want for me.

She would want me to live, and
she would want me to be happy,

and she would want me to thrive.

So it's kind of like she's
living life through my eyes now.

[Michelle] Wow. [sighs]

You are amazing.

- No, thank you.
- No, I…

[Maria] I knew what an
amazing community we had,

but I never imagined to
experience so much love.

It's very hard to describe.

Everyone has just
gone above and beyond,

and we have felt
so extremely loved.

You know, it's like… We're… we're
like a family, a little family.

Okay, no crying.

- No, the makeup.
- The makeup. [laughs]

- We've got parties to go to.
- Yeah.

[Michelle] So what Maria
and Camilo have gone through

has really brought, especially,
our international family together

to help support them.

It really goes to show you the
beauty of this game at this level

is something so magical.

And it… it is incredibly competitive,
but when the hard things happen,

we show up for each other, and
that is what is so beautiful.

[uplifting music playing]

[Michelle] The International
Team is so special.

You have people from Australia,

South Africa, Korea,

Japan, Colombia, Canada all coming
together to create one team.

That international unity
that has to come together

is something really magical that
I don't think the US Team has.

[Camilo] I think our team
this year is… is very united.

Our shield kind of unites us,

and I think the… the guys
have really embraced it.

It's nice to be
identified more as one,

and we really worked on
understanding the different cultures,

understanding the
different players,

and trying to get them
together to understand

that there's a bigger purpose,
uh, behind this event,

and, uh, it's been great.

[Dethier] All these guys talk about
how special these team events are.

You're not playing
for money or yourself.

You're playing for your teammates
and your brothers and your country.

Good, and then just,
like, a… [clicks]

No, that looks phenomenal.

[Camilo] After a very,
very special day,

being with the wives and the
excitement and the crowds,

now we're coming back tomorrow
very focused and ready to play.

Let's go, rock
and roll, f*ck.

[all laugh]

[Jim] Yeah, the International
Team, definitely

solid players,
skilled, talented,

and they've got some
veteran leadership.

And so, yes, there's a
nervous energy about it,

but I'm confident. I mean, we have a
good team. Of course I'm confident.

Going into the Presidents Cup, Keegan
and I looked at each other and said,

"Man, wouldn't it be nice to just shut
off our brains for even just a few days?"

'Cause it's impossible.

You're thinking about what's
coming and the gravity of that.

And I think one of his biggest fears
going into the Presidents Cup is,

you know, having a nightmare
week, which can happen. It's golf.

[Keegan] The closer you get
to that first round, like,

"Okay, this is real." [chuckles]

Meanwhile, in the back of
my mind, I'm still nervous.

Like, "Oh sh*t, I gotta
get ready to do this."

"This is coming, whether
I like it or not."

"I'm gonna be on that first tee with
a partner, playing for my country,

and the other team is
gonna wanna k*ll me."

[Rapaport] The pressure in these
events is always a lot to deal with.

But for Keegan Bradley,
it's undoubtedly more.

After being left off the Ryder Cup
team in really heartbreaking fashion,

just a couple of months ago,

both Keegan and the rest of the golf world
were dealt some really surprising news.

[announcer] Thank you

for the 2025 United States
Ryder Cup captain announcement.

[announcer 2] For over 100 years,
the role of the Ryder Cup captain

is one of the most prestigious
titles in our sport.

I'm here to announce
our Ryder Cup captain,

on behalf of the over 30,000 PGA
professionals across the country,

Keegan Bradley.

[applause]

I'm so honored to be able to
be the leader of this team,

going to Bethpage to win the
Ryder Cup back, uh, for America.

Keegan Bradley will serve
as the US Ryder Cup captain

in 2025 at Bethpage.

Your reaction to this news?

Uh, very surprised.

[pundit] He's got no track
record in captaining in teams.

That's what is surprising.

There's absolutely going to be a ton
of pressure on Bradley to deliver.

[Balionis] I think there's gonna be a
lot of extra pressure for Keegan Bradley

to prove that he deserves
this captaincy spot.

And he will tell you, he's been
playing with a chip on his shoulder

since the day he got
out on the PGA TOUR.

And now that Keegan has been
honored with this captaincy role,

that chip is very much
back on his shoulder

to prove that he's
deserving of it.

[Keegan] It's an
honor of a lifetime,

one I never knew that I would
get the opportunity to do.

If you put the trophy
in your left hand…

[Keegan] I wanna show the team their
Ryder Cup captain can still play

and can still go out there

and handle the pressure
of one of these events.

big challenge in front of us.

Team has an incredible squad.

They got guys that are world

I'm so nervous and

fans, very passionate.

There's always a Canadian
flag at every event.

There's always
somebody dressed up

in the funky outfit
with the red and white,

and then the energy's up.

And, uh, we need them.
We need that energy.

[Maria] Once the tournament starts,
that competitiveness comes out,

and you just wanna, like,
crush the other team.

[laughs]

Although you love them too

because, you know, we've been
playing golf with them forever,

but it's just, like, a
totally different setting.

[Jillian] One of
my best friends,

Maria Villegas, is on
the International Team.

She was in my
wedding, bridesmaid,

and we just kind of
knew once things got…

We just sort of walked on
different sides of the fairway.

For that one little stretch of time,
everything seems life or death.

[cheering and applause]

[commentator] The first
of five four-ball matches

is about to be introduced,
and here they come.

And the International Team
trying to turn things around.

The US has won 12 of
the 14 Presidents Cups,

including nine straight.

[cheering and applause]

[Tom] Standing up in the first tee
and seeing thousands of people there,

I mean, you don't really have to say
anything else. It's… it's go time, baby.

[cheering and applause]

[Rapaport] The Presidents Cup,
like the Ryder Cup, is match play,

which means guys
go head-to-head.

So you win a hole,
you go one up.

You lose a hole,
you go one down.

At the end, whoever wins the
most holes wins the match.

Most matches are two-on-two.
And then on Sunday,

everyone plays by themselves.

Every match is worth one point.

There are 30 total matches
so 30 total points.

Whichever team wins 15.5 points,

they win the Presidents Cup.

now in his third Presidents Cup.

[Tony] The reason why
you're sent out first

is because you wanna see, uh,
red, white, and blue first.

And so a lot of emotions are going on,
but more so just trying to be locked in.

[Alayna] It really is
nerve-racking for us. Like, "Ah!"

Like, I wanted to cry. I
was just holding my breath.

[cheering and applause]

Oh, Jason Day! Spectacular start
here for the International side.

They grab the first win
on the opening hole.

[announcer] The players
representing the United States Team

are Wyndham Clark,
Keegan Bradley.

[Jillian] It's such a
nerve-racking event.

It makes me wanna puke.
It makes me wanna cry,

and it's just… I get
goosebumps all over.

[commentator 2] Keegan
Bradley was wondering

if he would ever
get an opportunity

to play in one of these
team competitions again.

Not only is he the next
