[crowd cheering]

["Last Night on Earth" by Green Day]

I text a postcard, sent to you

Did it go through?

Sending all my love to you

You are the moonlight of my life

Every night...

Giving all my love to you

My beating heart belongs to you

I walked for miles till I found you

I'm here to honor you

If I lose everything in the fire,

I'm sending all my love to you

[crowd cheering]

With every breath that I am worth

Here on earth

I'm sending all my love to you

So if you dare to second guess,

you can rest

assure that all my love is for you

My beating heart belongs to you

I walked for miles til I found you

I'm here to honor you

If I lose everything in the fire,

I'm sending all my love to you

To you

[both] My beating heart belongs to you

I walked for miles til I found you

I'm here to honor you

If I lose everything in the fire,

I'm sending all my love to you

[Billy Eilish] Green Day everybody.

- Billie Eilish.

- Billie Joe.

[crowd cheering]

[Billy Joe] Thank you.

Los Angeles.

[cheering]

We are still alive.

This is California.

And we are all in this together.

From the bottom of our hearts,

we love you, Los Angeles,

and we got your back no matter what.

- Let's go.

- ["Still Breathing" by Green Day]

I'm like a child looking

off in the horizon

I'm like an ambulance

that's turning on the sirens

Oh, oh, oh.

Oh, I'm still alive

I'm like a soldier coming

home for the first time

I dodged a b*llet

and I walked across a landmine

Oh, oh, oh.

I'm still alive

Am I bleeding?

Am I bleeding from the storm?

Just shine a line.

Into the wreckage so far away

Cause I'm still breathing

Cause I'm still breathing on my own.

My head's above the rain and roses

Making my way, my way.

Cause I'm still breathing

Cause I'm still breathing on my own

My head's above the rain and roses.

Making my way

My way to you

[crowd cheering]

I'm like a junkie

tying off for the last time

I'm like a loser

that's betting on his last dime

Oh, oh, oh.

I'm still alive

I'm like a son

that was raised without a father

I'm like a mother

barely keeping it together

Oh, oh I'm still alive

Am I bleeding?

Am I bleeding from the storm?

Just shine a light into the wreckage

So far away.

Cause I'm still breathing

Cause I'm still breathing on my own

My head's above the rain and roses.

Making my way away away

Cause I'm still breathing.

Cause I'm still breathing on my own

My head's above the rain and roses.

Making my way away

As I walk down ledge

Are you scared to death to live?

I've been running all my life

Just to find a home

that's for the restless.

That's the truth that's in the message.

Making my way away away

Los Angeles Get your hands up in the air.

[crowd cheering]

Yeah!

[vocalizing]

Cause I'm still breathing

Cause I'm still breathing on my own.

My head's above the rain and roses

Making my way away

Cause I'm still breathing.

Cause I'm still breathing on my own

My head's above the rain and roses.

Making my way away away

My way to you. My way to you

We're here for you!

My head's above the rain and roses.

My way to you

Get your hands up

Oh, oh

Sing it.

Oh, oh

Sing it.

Oh, oh

Sing it

Oh, oh

["When I Come Around" playing]

I heard you crying loud

All the way across town

You've been searching for that someone

and it's me out on the prowl

As you sit around

feeling sorry for yourself

Well, don't get lonely now

And dry your whining eyes

I'm just roaming for the moment

Sleazing my backyard,

so don't get so uptight

You've been thinking about ditching me

No time to search the world around

Cause you know where I'll be found

When I come around,

I've heard it all before

So don't knock down my door

I'm a loser and a user

so I don't need no accuser

To try and slag me down

because I know your right

So go do what you like

Make you sure you do it wise

You may find out that your self doubt.

Means nothing was ever there

You can't go forcing...

Hey everybody get your

hands up in the air.

No time to search the world around

Cause you know where I'll be found

When I come around

No time to search the world around

Cause you know where I'll be found

When I come around

California.

Los Angeles.

Altadena.

The Palisades we are in this together.

[crowd cheering]

[crowd cheering]

Hi everybody, I'm Billy Crystal.

[crowd cheering]

Hello L.A.

and everybody watching

around the world, watching us.

Welcome to FireAid.

We are gathered here at the Kia Forum,

[crowd cheering]

which is Steve Ballmer's guesthouse.

And later we will be over at the fantastic

Intuit Dome.

Our goal is simple tonight,

to raise more money

than the Dodgers spent on free agents.

Now, all kidding aside, when you donate to

FireAidLA.org during tonight's broadcast,

Steve Ballmer and his wonderful wife

Connie will match it dollar for dollar.

[crowd cheering]

And...

And just as I was walking on stage,

I got word that our first big donation

of the night has come in.

It's from this band called U2.

[crowd cheering]

And it's for one million dollars.

Which really means two million dollars,

thanks to Connie and Steve.

And at home,

you too can help us by calling in.

We have an amazing evening

of dozens of incredible performers

coming together to help those in need.

And also, you'll be hearing

from a number of people who were

tragically affected by these fires.

And I am one of them.

[man in crowd] We love you Billy!

These... Shh.

These were the clothes I wore

when I fled my house with my wife Janice,

like so many of us did on January 7th.

It was all I had.

Wore it for a week, plus an N95 mask.

I looked like an evacuee

or someone who had just robbed a 7 Eleven.

But everybody's been so supportive.

This young girl, she must have been 20,

came up to me,

and said she understood my pain

because she had lost TikTok for a day.

[crowd laughing]

Everybody has a thing.

I wanted to be here tonight

because a little over 23 years ago,

and just a month after 9 11, I was asked

to welcome the audience to the concert

for New York at Madison Square Garden.

[crowd cheering]

With...

With Ground Zero still smoldering,

I walked out to a grieving audience,

holding up signs with pictures

of their loved ones on them, asking,

Have you seen them?

It was all I could do

to get my first words out.

And tonight, here I am,

talking to all of you in pain.

But now, I'm also one

of the hurting thousands,

asking, Have you seen my school?

Have you seen my church?

Have you seen my house?

Have you seen my town?

Have you seen the 29 people

who lost their lives?

Have you seen them?

On that night in 2001, we were mourning

the loss of hundreds of firefighters

and police officers and first responders.

Tonight,

we are here together to thank them,

and all those who run towards danger,

while we run to shelter and safety.

[crowd cheering]

When...

When...

When we were finally able to get back

to our house in the Palisades, which we

had lived in for 46 years, like thousands

of you, our house now looked like this.

I stepped onto the grounds,

and I fell to my knees, and I wailed.

I had not cried like that

since I was 15 years old, and I was told

that my father had just died.

I remember looking

in the mirror back then,

with my whole life ahead of me, thinking,

What is my life going to be like

without him?

Now, folks, I'm 76 years old,

without a mirror,

and a lot less life to ponder, thinking,

What is my life going to be like

without our home?

And then I heard screams

from my daughters,

Dad, Dad, Dad, Dad.

And my girls, Jenny and Lindsay, brought

over this rock from a burnt out garden.

Years ago, I bought these rocks

with one word engraved in them,

and placed them around our gardens.

They were welcome, patience, dream,

and the one I held in my hands, laughter.

I learned about the power

of laughter back in 1963.

In our shiver house, sitting alone,

sad little guy, I heard big laughs coming

from the family in our modest living room,

and I came down the hall to see my dear

Uncle Burn in the midst of his sorrow,

telling stories, and doing magic tricks,

and making the entire family laugh.

And it changed my life.

I knew at that moment,

even in your worst pain, folks, it's okay.

And it's important to laugh.

And I dedicated...

[crowd cheering]

And I dedicated my life then,

and my career then has been able to do

that throughout very difficult times,

and I'm proud of that.

But when I held that rock in my hands,

this was the only thing that was left.

I felt there was a message from that

15 year old me saying, it's gonna be okay.

And it will be okay.

With your help around the country,

and here in the room, we'll laugh again,

we're gonna listen to music again,

and we will be okay.

So tonight, from Altadena,

to Malibu, to the

Pacific Palisades,

let's show the world who we are.

We're Los Angeles,

one city, one heart, LA Strong!

[crowd cheering]

And now, please welcome,

Alanis Morissette.

[crowd cheering]

["Hand in my Pocket" by

Alanis Morissette]

I'm broke but I'm happy

I'm poor but I'm kind

- I'm short, but I'm healthy

- Yeah

I'm high, but I'm grounded

I'm sane, but I'm overwhelmed

- I'm lost, but I'm hopeful

- Baby

And what it all comes down to

He said, everything's gonna be fine,

fine, fine

I've got one hand in my pocket,

And the other one is giving a high five

I feel drunk but I'm sober

I'm young, and I'm underpaid

- I'm tired, but I'm working

- Yeah

I care, but I'm restless

I'm here, but I'm really gone

I'm wrong, and I'm sorry, baby

And what it all comes down to

Is that everything's

gonna be quite all right

I've got one hand in my pocket and

the other one is flicking a cigarette

What it all comes down to

Is that I haven't got it

all figured out just yet

I've got one hand in my pocket

And the other is giving the peace sign

I'm free, but I'm focused

I'm green, but I'm wise

I'm hard but I'm friendly, baby

I'm sad, but I'm laughing

I'm brave, but I'm chicken sh*t

I'm sick, but I'm pretty, baby

What it all boils down to

Is that no one's really

got it figured out just yet

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Cause I've got one hand in my pocket

And the other is playing the piano

What it all comes down to,

my dear friends

Everything is just fine,

fine, fine, fine

I've got one hand in my pocket

And the other one

is hailing a taxi cab

[crowd cheering]

Thank you so much!

I love you LA so much.

The connections that have been born

from this tragedy is deeply heartwarming.

And LA is a colorful, wild place.

And when things get hard,

we come together really hard.

And I feel it.

[woman in audience] You're my favorite!

[piano plays]

First responders and fire peeps

everywhere here, we love you.

["Thank U" by Alanis Morissette]

How about getting off

all these antibiotics

[woman screaming]

How 'bout stopping eating

when I'm full up

How 'bout them transparent

dangling carrots

How 'bout that ever elusive kudo

Thank you, India. Thank you, terror

Thank you disillusionment

Thank you, frailty.

Thank you, consequence

Thank you, thank you, silence

How about me not blaming you

for everything

How about me enjoying

a moment for once

How about how good it

feels to finally forgive you

How 'bout grieving

it all one at a time

Thank you, India. Thank you, terror

Thank you disillusionment

Thank you frailty

Thank you, consequence. Thank you

Thank you, silence

The moment I let go

of it was the moment

I got more than I could handle

The moment I jumped off of it

Was the moment I touched down

How 'bout no longer being masochistic

How 'bout remembering your divinity

How 'bout unabashedly

bawling your eyes out

[woman in crowd] Wooo!

How 'bout not equating

death with stopping

Thank you, India

Thank you, providence

Thank you disillusionment

Thank you, nothingness

Thank you, clarity

Thank you

Thank you, silence

Yeah, yeah

Thank you so much.

So much empathy to you for with you.

I love you.

Two major wildfires are carving a path of

destruction through Southern California.

- Embers were just flying out of control.

- It's heartbreaking to see all of this.

Everything is just burned out.

Everything is gone.

I woke up at 3am in the morning

and my room was filled with smoke.

I knew then that I couldn't stay there.

I saw the fires burning, but I didn't know

how bad it was in my area.

And it wasn't until I was

able to get up there and see for myself

everything that's just gone.

I'm standing on what was

my front porch of my home.

Everything behind me,

my whole house, everything gone.

And this is devastating.

Everything on my block is just gone.

I'm basically starting at zero.

I wish it was just a terrible dream,

a nightmare, but this is real.

Everything I have on right now

has been provided for me by somebody else.

Everything down to my

underwear and t shirts.

I like to think that we are going to come

back stronger and better than before.

You know, I'm a carpenter

and I want to help rebuild Altadena,

get those homes back up and that sense

of community to be felt again.

There's still bright days ahead

and I look forward to that.

You can hear California

in every note of his music.

Please welcome Anderson Paak

and the Free Nationals.

One, two, three.

["Put Me Thru" by Anderson Paak]

Why the hell would you run this game?

Both my hands are tied

Afraid of thinking I dug my own grave

f*ck around with this

strange and elusive

Too afraid to lose it

I don't mind this pain

Most n*gg*s want you for your candy

They'll never know

just how long it takes

I wave my own pride

And put it all on the line

There I go, volunteering, punish me

Self inflicted pain, sickness over used

Way over used

Here I stay, hey, time to time

It must be what you put me through

It must be what you put me through

A little while longer a bit more time

Why would you run these thoughts

across my mind?

Please, relieve me As cool as I remain

There's a point in which

I'll lose my self restraint

Say, love

most n*gg*s would've left you lonely

I fancy throwing it all away

I see it to my own demise

- How much longer will I let it ride?

- There I go, volunteering, punish me

Self inflicted pain,

sickness over used

- Will I let it ride?

- Here I stay

Here I stay, time to time

Hey, It must be what you put me through

It must be what you put me through.

Here I stay,

Time and time

- It must be

- What you put me through

Ladies and Gentlemen

please make some noise for Sheila E.

There I go, volunteering, punish me

Self inflicted pain,

sickness over used

Here I stay, time to time

It must be what you put me through

There I go, volunteering, punish me

Self inflicted pain,

sickness over used

Here I stay, time to time

It must be what you put me through

[crowd cheering]

Anderson Paak!

[crowd cheering]

Make some noise for the legend, Sheila E.

[crowd cheering]

One more time

from my band, the Free Nationals.

I'll go by the name of

Anderson Paak, it's a pleasure

to be a part of this epic lineup.

I know these are tough times,

devastating times.

Our hearts go out to everyone in Los

Angeles who is affected by the fires,

but tonight we showed that we can come

together for a great cause, and as far as

I'm concerned this is one of the greatest

nights in Los Angeles history tonight.

We want to give a big shout-out

to all the artists who are performing

on this stage, all the crew,

the organizers, and especially you

who came out tonight to provide, some aid,

for the people who need it.

Can we keep it going for y'all?

Let's get it.

[music starts]

- Come on!

- Los Angeles I need to see you Hands up

Hands up [repeat]

- Get them high.

- [repeat]

- Los Angeles make some noise.

- ["Come Down" by Anderson Paak]

Well that's exactly

what a n*gga came for

You taking shots from afar,

I'ma beat you at the front door

so hard to be doing

what you really meant for, beauty

But don't I make it look easy?

Don't I make it look good?

You drank up all my liquor,

come on, what I'm supposed to do now

And you talking all that sh*t,

no, come on

You gon' have to back it up

If I get too high now, sugar, come on,

I might never come down

Say, you might not ever come down.

I wanna get down

- Help me out, say

- You might not ever come down

Want that, I wanna get down.

Come on, come on

- You might not ever come down

- Y'all gotta get down

- Hands up

- You might never, ever come down

It took too long

to get this high off the ground

Don't run, just say a while

-Can't beat it

-[repeat] with the big bad dough

Can't see her with this pitch black

Gucci frames on I take these b*tches off

Let me get the full scope

Hold up

Full screen HD,

let me take another picture

I'll holler at the pre-show

Cool beans, cool beans,

that's a whole lot of reefer, baby

You, drank up all my liquor, come on

What I'm supposed to do now?

What I'm supposed to do now?

And you talking all that sh*t,

now come on

You gon' have to back it up

If I get too high now, n*gga, come on.

I might never come down

You might not ever come down.

I wanna get down

- Come on, come on

- You might not ever come down

You might not ever come down

- Let me get down, let's go!

- You might never, ever come down

It took too long

to get this high off the ground

Don't run, just stay a while

You might never, ever come down

It took too long to get

this high off the ground

Don't run, just stay awhile

We didn't come to play around tonight

Los Angeles are you still here

Well, I need you to do me a favor.

Make some noise for my big homie, Dr. Dre.

["Still D.R.E" by Dr. Dre]

[Anderson Paak] Yeah, yeah.

Still doing that sh*t, huh, Dre?

- Oh for sure.

- Check me out.

It's still Dre Day n*gga, A.K. n*gga

Though I've grown a lot,

can't keep it home a lot

'Cause when I frequent the spots

that I'm known to rock

You hear the bass from the trunk

when I'm on the block

- Ladies!

- They pay homage

but haters say Dre fell off

- How!

- n*gga, my last album was The Chronic

They wanna know if he still got it

They say rap changed

They wanna know how I feel about it

[Anderson Paak]

If you ain't up on thangs

[Dr. Dre] Dr. Dre is the name

I'm ahead of my game

- Still!

- Pumping my leafs

- Still f*ck with the beats

- Still!

- Still not loving police

- Uh huh

Still rock my khakis with a cuff and a

crease I still got love for the streets

Ruffin' two one three. Hey!

Still doing my thing

- Since I left ain't too much changed.

- And still

I'm representin' for the gangsters

all across the world

And still

Still, hittin'

them switches in them low lows girl

- And still

- Taking my time to perfect the beat

And still got love for the streets.

It's the DRE

I'm representin' for the gangsters

all across the world

And still

Still, hittin'

them switches in them low lows girl

- And still.

- Taking my time to perfect the beat

And I still got love for the streets.

It's the DRE

[crowd cheering]

Yeah, yeah. How y'all feeling tonight LA?

[crowd cheering]

Make some noise for Anderson Paak.

Make some noise

for Sheila E, the legend here.

Hell yeah.

I want to say

this is a magical moment for me.

One, I want to take a little bit of time

to talk y'all for a second and show.

Um, I've got so much love for you guys.

And this summer will be

the mark of 40 years that

I've been in this business.

[crowd cheering]

And I appreciate all the love

that you guys have been giving me.

And the reason why we're here,

I appreciate all the first responders

and all the firemen

that put their lives on the line.

I appreciate all that love. You feel me?

[crowd cheering]

Yeah.

It's all about love for me tonight.

But guess what else I got?

California love...

- [Anderson Paak] Hands up!

- ["California Love" by 2pac]

Hey! [repeat]

- This works for you, Los Angeles!

- [Dr. Dre] Yeah!

- Sing it!

- California...

Come on, LA, sing this sh*t!

California knows how to party

Come on!

-California knows how to party

-In the city o what?

In the city of LA

In the city of good ol Watts

What's up?

What's up? What's up?

What's up?

- Where the f*ck am I from?

- [Anderson Paak] The city of Compton

Ay!

- Come on, y'all!

- We keep it rockin', y'all!

We keep it rockin', y'all!

Now let me welcome everybody

to the wild, wild west!

A state that's

untouchable like Eliot Ness

The track hits your eardrum

like a slug to your chest

Pack a vest for your Jimmy

in the city of sex

We're in a sunshine state,

where the b*mb a*s hemp be

A place where you never find

a dance floor empty

And p*mps be

on a mission for them greens

- Lean mean!

- Money making machines on the beat!

- I've been in this game for 40 years!

- Bangin' rap tones!

Ever since Honey's was wearin',

that was 25!

They clocked me, watched me

diamond shining!

lookin' like I robbed Liberace

It's all good! from Diego to the Bay

Your city is the sh*t

if your city gettin' paid!

Full of a finger

if you feel the same way!

So you puttin' me down for California!

California...

- Come on!

- Ay!

- That's what's up!

- California!

- Come on, y'all!

- Hey!

- Hey!

- In the city of what?

- [Anderson Paak] City of LA!

- What?

What's up, what's up? Come on, y'all!

- Where the f*ck am I from?

- [Anderson Paak] the city of Compton

- Yeah, yeah!

- We keep it rocking y'all!

Come on! Shake and shake!

- Come on, now!

- Shake!

Come on!

- Yeah, shake it, shake it, shake it.

- [repeat]

Shake it Cali. Shake it Cali, Come on

Shake it Cali!

Yeah!

- Let's take them home, Dre.

- Take them out, Sheila take them out!

Come on! Come on!

Let's go

[drum solo]

[Anderson Paak] Come on!

[Anderson Paak] Make some noise for Sheila

Make some noise for Dr. Dre

[Dr. Dre] Come on, y'all!

[Anderson Paak] Make some noise

for the Free Nationals

[continues indistinctly]

Come on!

Los Angeles, we love you

Go on head Shelia and give it to them.

Thank you All love, Los Angeles.

Appreciate you. No, thank you.

[crowd cheering]

Firefighters are now fighting

five wildfires at once.

The first night, we were up in Palisades,

and the chief just tells you, here's your

neighborhood, go find something to save.

I've been in the fire service

30 years now.

For me, it's in my blood.

This is by far the worst fire disaster

that I've witnessed.

It was just a perfect storm of events.

The fires, they were unstoppable.

To see all the damage that's happened,

neighborhoods wiped out,

people have lost everything.

You definitely start feeling defeated.

Firefighters desperately have been trying

to stop those flames

from crossing over the ridge and heading

to other major population centers.

Mandeville Canyon, hundreds of houses

were threatened within an instant.

And we put so many resources up there.

Aircraft and helicopters

and big, giant DC 10s.

Get them, brothers!

It was six hours of a firefight

in this canyon, and we lost one home only.

The call to save Los Angeles has been

answered by firefighters and other first

responders from all over the country.

It's just people who have a heart

to give service back to the people,

and those are your firefighters,

and, you know, they want to give back

to the community and just help people.

We all owe so much

to the fire department for what they do.

- These guys are heroes.

- God bless them.

You know, people come up to us

nonstop and they thank us.

For me, it's important to thank Water

and Power, LAPD, the National Guard.

All those people are away

from their family just as long as us.

Thank them, too.

Disasters bring communities together.

Everybody in L.A.

and Southern California and across

America, and even the world, they

come together to help in time of need.

And that ultimately shows

what humanity is about.

[crowd cheering]

I can think of no better person

to assuage us during this time

than the incomparable Joni Mitchell.

["Both Sides Now" by Joni Mitchell]

Rows and flows of angel hair

And ice cream castles in the air

And feather canyons everywhere

I've looked at clouds that way

But now they only block the sun

And they rain and they

snow on everyone

So many things I would have done

All the clouds got in my way

I've looked at clouds from both sides

now

From up and down

And still somehow it's cloud illusions

I recall

I really don't know clouds at all

Moons and Junes and ferris wheels

The dizzy dancing way that you feel

As every fairy tale comes real

I've looked at love that way

But now it's just another show

You leave them laughing when you go

And if you care, don't let them know

Don't give yourself away

I've looked at love

from both sides now

From give and take and still somehow

It's love's illusions. I recall

I really don't know love

I really don't know love at all

Tears and fears, and feeling proud

To say I love you right out loud

Oh, dreams and schemes

and circus crowds

I've looked at life that way,

but now old friends are acting strange

They shake their heads and they say,

Joanie, you've changed

Well, something's lost,

but something's

gained in living every day

I've looked at life

from both sides now

From win and lose.

And still, somehow,

it's life's illusions that I recall

I really don't know life

I really don't know life at all

Thank you.

[laughs]

[reporter] Family sanctuaries

for nearly 50 years reduced to ash.

[female reporter] It's been a period of

unimaginable change

for the Williams family.

The Eaton wildfire destroyed generations

of their family's Altadena homes.

[woman] When we go outside,

it's just dark swirling.

We knew it was bad.

Four members of the family

lost their homes entirely.

Despite the long road ahead,

they're still finding the light

in even the darkest of moments.

It's a blessing that we've been able

to all stay together through this.

Yeah.

Because I don't know

what I would do with that.

- Yeah.

- God is still watching over us.

We are so blessed.

[crowd cheering]

Hello, LA!

I'm Dr. Yechelle Williams, and I'm

here with my sisters, Crystal, Kim,

Dr. Ellen, and my mother, Matilda.

We are the Williams family from Altadena.

At about 3.30 in the morning,

the warning hit our phones.

Fast moving fire, evacuate now.

And we did.

We grabbed what we could.

Pictures, our grandmother's special clock.

We collected our father's ashes

and his flag from serving in the military.

We live close to one another,

and thank goodness we all made it out.

Including our 47 year old parrot, Hank.

Among the five of us standing here,

we lost four homes.

And we're struggling

to find places to live.

We have ties to the Altadena community

going back to 1948

when our grandmother brought her home.

[crowd cheering]

We love our community.

And right now,

we are all grieving immense loss.

But there's a sign in the ruins

at my mother's home.

Everything was destroyed

except her front door.

It stands at this hour.

It's a sign

because that door was always open.

That door was the gateway to love.

[crowd cheers]

While many of us live elsewhere right now,

we are bound together to one another,

healed by one another

because of family and faith.

And it's what gives us strength

to be here tonight.

[crowd cheering]

The next band is from L.A.

two of the members and their parents

also sadly lost their homes in Altadena.

Please help me welcome, Dawes.

[crowd cheering]

["Time Spent In Los Angeles

Lyrics" by Dawes]

These days my friends

don't seem to know me

Without my suitcase in my hands

And when I'm Standing still,

I seem to disappear

But maybe that's how I found you

Maybe that taught me

exactly what I want

Maybe meeting you this

far away from home

is what makes it all so clear that

You've got that special

kind of sadness

You've got that tragic set of charms

That only comes from time spent

in Los Angeles

Makes me want to wrap you in my arms

When people ask me where I'm home from

To see what it says about a man I

only end up giving bad directions

To never leave them there at all

It's something written

in the headlights

It is something swimming in my drink

And if I were the moon,

it would be exactly where I'd fall

Cause you've got

that special kind of sadness

And you've got that tragic

set of charms

That only comes

from time spent in Los Angeles

Makes me want to wrap you in my arms

I used to think

that someone would love me

For all these places that I've been

And the dirt that I've been gathering.

Deep beneath my nails

But now I know what I've been missing

And I'm going home to make it mine

And I'll be battening the edges.

And pulling in the sails

Cause you've got

that special kind of sadness

You've got that tragic set of charms

That only comes

from time spent in Los Angeles

Makes me want to wrap you in my arms

You've got that special

kind of sadness

You've got that tragic set of charms

That only comes

from time spent in Los Angeles

Makes me want to wrap you in my arms

We'd like to welcome to the stage.

Stephen Stills with Mike Campbell.

["For What it's Worth"

by Stephen Stills]

There's something happening here

What it is ain't exactly clear

There's a man with a g*n over there

Telling me I got to beware

I think it's time we stop,

Hey...

What's that sound?

Everybody look what's going down?

There's battle lines being drawn

Ain't nobody right.

If everybody's wrong.

Young people speaking their minds

Getting so much resistance from behind

It's time we stop, hey

What's that sound?

Everybody look What's going down

What a field day for the heat

A thousand people standing out

Tryin' to hear the street cut.

Singing songs and carrying signs

Mostly say, hooray for our side

-Hey, what's that sound

-Everybody look what's going down

Going down.

Hey

[inaudible]

[continues inaudibly]

Paranoia strikes deep

Into your life it will creep

It starts when you're always afraid

You step out of line,

the man come and take you away

Hey, what's that sound?

[vocalizing]

Everybody look what's going down

Stop hey what's that sound

everybody look what's going down

Time to take it down

Everybody look what's going down

[guitar solo]

We've got to stop.

Hey, what's that sound?

[vocalizing]

And now let's add to that.

Let's welcome to the stage,

Mr. Graham Nash.

So pleased to be here.

Particularly with the great band Dawes.

And my partner for so many years,

Stephen Stills.

You know, there's a very large community

here in Los Angeles

made up of many, many musicians.

And whenever Los Angeles gets into

trouble, the musicians are right there.

And I'm proud to be one of them.

["Teach Your Children"

by Stills and Nash]

You, who are on the road,

must have a code that you can live by

And so become yourself

Because the past is just a goodbye

Teach your children well,

their father's hell did slowly go by

And feed them on your dreams,

the one they pick

Is the one's you'll know by

Come one join us here

Don't you ever ask them why,

if they told you, you would cry,

so just look at them and sigh

And know they love you

And you, of tender years,

can't now the fears that

your elders grew by,

And so please help them

with your youth,

'Cause they seek the truth

Before they can die

Teach your parents well,

their children's hell

will slowly go by,

and feed them on your dreams,

The ones they pick, is the one's you'll

know by

- Let me hear ya.

- [crowd Singing]

[crowd singing]

Take care of yourself!

Take care of one another!

[reporter] Three dog

trapped in their house

alone as the Palisades fire closed in.

I was in San Francisco at the time.

My wife, Six, was traveling in Asia.

They had someone taking care of their dogs

in the Pacific Palisades.

But the dog sitter got stuck.

A fire in the vicinity prevented

her from getting to their home.

Jonathan Vigliotti was reporting from

the Pacific Palisades Charter High School.

We live right up the street from there.

This neighborhood under threat right now.

At least five homes destroyed.

I was in the Palisades showing what was

going on within the disaster zone.

And I posted something on social media.

And Andrea's wife saw that post.

And they connected with us.

And said, we've got dogs in our house.

Can you go in, break in, and get them?

When we got to the street,

the houses on the other side of the street

from Andrea's were already on fire.

We looked at each other and we just knew,

we have to take action,

otherwise those dogs will not survive.

We grabbed a chair,

we smashed through the window, and then it

was just all action, no thinking.

- Hey guys, where are you?

- There was one right by the door.

There was another hiding under a bed.

And then the third was growling

and did not want to be caught.

Come on, we gotta go.

- Good boy, let's go.

- Yeah, you are so funny.

I understand.

And by the time we got the last dog

into the car, there were embers

starting to ignite Andrea's home.

- Okay, let's go.

- Then Andrea's house burned down.

I saw my phone ringing. It was Jonathan.

The first thing he said was,

we got the dogs.

When we finally reunited Andrea with his

dogs, he immediately broke down crying.

We did too.

All the adrenaline and fear and anxiety

and hope just suddenly released

and we both just broke down in tears.

That's one of the most

life affirming moments.

You know, we don't have kids,

but they feel like a part of you.

But I was thinking immediately

about all the other people who could not

get back into their homes at the time,

who were outside of the evacuation zone

and could not gain access,

who weren't able to have those reunions.

In tragedy, we oftentimes find

our best version of ourselves.

And I think that is on clear display

here in Los Angeles.

Los Angeles!

Help me welcome a true powerhouse!

Pink.

["What About Us" by Pink]

[both vocalizing]

That's nice

We are searchlights

we can see in the dark

We are rockets pointed up at the stars.

We are billions of beautiful hearts

And you sold us down the river too far

What about us?

What about all the times

you said you had the answers?

What about us?

What about all the broken

happy ever afters?

Oh, what about us?

What about all the plans

that ended in disaster?

What about love? What about trust?

What about us?

We are problems that want to be solved

We are children that need to be loved

We were willing. We came

when you called

But man, you fooled us,

Enough is enough

What about us?

What about all the times

you sent you at the answers?

What about us?

What about all the broken

happy ever afters?

Oh, what about us?

What about all the plans

that ended in disaster?

What about trust? What about us?

What about love?

Sticks and stones, they may break

these bones, but then I'll be ready

Are you ready?

It's the start of us waking up, come on

Are you ready? I'll be ready

I don't want control. I want to let go

Cause now it's time to let them know

What about us?

What about all the times

you said you had the answer?

What about us?

What about all the broken

happy ever afters?

Oh, what about our us?

What about all the plans

that ended in disaster?

What about love? What about trust?

What about us?

What about us? What about us?

What about us? What about us?

What about us? What about us?

Thank you

Thank you I want to first thank

our first responders and...

From the bottom of our hearts.

I'm very honored to be here on a night

like tonight and I'm very grateful that

you all would want to be here to celebrate

generosity and love and kindness.

I hope we can continue

to gather in that spirit.

If you're hurting, I'm hurting with you.

My heart is with you.

I'm going to keep my feet

on the ground tonight.

And I'm going to sing a couple of songs

that bring me comfort.

And I hope that they

do the same for you all.

- Thank you.

- Thanks for having us.

["Me and Bobby McGee" by Janis Joplin]

Busted flat in Baton Rouge,

waitin' for a train

And I's feelin' near

as faded as my jeans

Bobby thumbed a diesel down,

just before it rained

It rode us all the way to New Orleans

I pulled my harpoon out of my dirty red

bandanna I was playing

soft while Bobby sang the blues

Windshield wipers slappin' time,

I was holdin' Bobby's hand in mine

We sang every song that driver knew

Freedom's just another word

for nothing left to lose

Nothing.

Only nothing, honey

It ain't free.

Yeah

Feelin' good was easy, Lord.

When he sang the blues

Feelin' good was good enough for me

Good enough for me, Bobby McGee.

Yeah

From the Kentucky coal mines

to the California sun, Yeah

Bobby shared the secrets of my soul

Through all kinds of weather.

Through everything we've done

Bobby, baby, help me

from the cold world

One day up near Salinas,

Lord, I let him slip away

He's lookin' for that home,

and I hope he finds it

But, I'd trade all of my tomorrows,

for a single yesterday

To be holding Bobby's

body next to mine

Freedom's just another word.

for nothing left to lose

Nothing. Oh, that's all

that Bobby left me

Oh, yeah.

Feeling good when it seems to be loved

When he sang the blues.

Feeling good was good enough for me

Good enough for me and

Bobby McGee, yeah

La, da, da, da,

La, da, da, da,

La, da, da, da,

La, da, da, da, Bobby McGee, yeah

La, da, da, da, da. Bobby McGee, yeah

La, da, da. Hey, Bobby McGee

La, da, da. [repeat]

Hey, Bobby McGee

Yeah, yeah

Well, I call him my lover, call him my

man I said, I call him my lover

did the best I can, c'mon

Will you help me now

Hey now, Bobby McGee, yeah

Hey, now, na, now, na, now, na,

now, na, now, na, now, na, now

Hey hey

Hey now, Bobby McGee, yeah

Woo!

Thank you.

I think I almost just passed out.

Okay.

Thank you. You guys are awesome.

Tonight is so special. So, so special.

I'm so inspired by the love

that is happening.

Alright, this is one of our favorites.

We got any Led Zeppelin fans out there?

Alright, thank God.

Babe, I'm gonna leave you.

["Babe, I'm gonna leave you."

by Led Zeppelin]

Babe

Baby, baby, I'm gonna leave you

I said, baby,

you know I'm gonna leave you

Yeah, leave you in the summertime

Leave you when the summer

comes rolling

Leave you when the summer comes alive

Baby, baby, baby

I don't want to leave you

I ain't joking, woman.

I've got to ramble

Oh, yeah.

Baby, baby, I'm leaving

Really got to ramble

I can hear it callin' me

the way it used to do

Hey, I can hear it callin' me back home

Woman

Woman

I know, I know

It feels good to have you back again

And I know that one day, baby,

it's really going to grow

Yes, it is

We're going

to go walking through the park

Everyday

[vocalizing]

[guitar solo]

Come what may, every day, ooh

[Crowd cheering]

Hello.

Samuel L. Jackson here.

I'm kicking off the show

down the street at the Intuit Dome.

- Are you ready to get this going?

- Yeah.

This concert is so big,

we had to fill two arenas.

We're all here to watch some

incredible music and hold each other up.

The fires were devastating.

But the firefighters in this town,

from all over this country,

and even other countries,

saved so many lives and so many homes.

We've got hundreds of first responders

here in the house.

Let's give them a huge round of applause.

Give it up! Give it up!

Yeah, Yeah!

Yeah!

Yeah!

Give it up, give it up!

Even while they fought for us,

some of them lost their homes.

I'd like for you to meet Chien Yu

and his wife and their children,

Hudson and Atticus. His wife, Kim.

Thank you, Sam.

We live in Altadena, and I've been in

the Pasadena Fire Department for 18 years.

[crowd cheering]

The night of the Eaton Fire,

I saw the glow through the trees.

Kim and I got our kids out

as soon as we got our orders to evacuate.

After they were safe, I went to work.

For 16 hours, I fought the flames.

And they were unlike anything

any of us have ever experienced.

When we finally got a break,

I immediately went to check on my house.

And it was gone.

A few days later,

I started combing through the ashes,

and I found my wedding ring.

[crowd cheering]

I always take it off for work,

and I never thought I'd get it back.

But I'm not the only firefighter

who lost their home.

But what I keep hearing is this.

We're not going anywhere. We will rebuild.

[crowd cheering]

I believe we will. And we can.

We love our firefighters,

and we need to help them right now.

So go to the website

and give what you can.

All the money that's raised will go

directly to people who need help in the

short term and for the long term effort

to get this city back on its feet.

Now, to kick out the music at the Intuit

Dome is two time rock and roll hall

of famer, and my ex neighbor, Sir Rod.

["Forever Young" by Rod Stewart]

May the good Lord be with you

Down every road you roam

And may sunshine and happiness

surround you when you're far from home

And may you grow to be proud

Dignified and true

And do unto others,

as you'd have done to you

Be courageous and be brave

And in my heart always remain.

Forever young

Forever young

May good fortune be with you.

May your guiding light be strong

Build a stairway to heaven,

with a prince or a vagabond

And may you never love in vain

and in my heart always remain

Forever Young, Forever Young

Forever Young, Forever Young

Forever Young

Forever Young

[guitar solo]

When you finally fly away

I'll be hoping that

I've served your way well

For all the wisdom of a lifetime

No one can ever tell

But whatever road you choose

I'm right behind you, win or lose

Forever Young, Forever Young

Forever Young, Forever Young

Forever Young

Forever Young

Forever Young

Thank you, That's very kind of you.

[inaudible] ...what's a British

person doing on the stage

tonight, but I lived here for 50 years.

50 years.

So this Los Angeles, California

is my blood in my soul and in my heart.

Now here's a new song.

Not.

["Maggie May" by Rod Stewart]

Wake up, Maggie

I think I got something to say to you

It's late September

and I really should be back at school

I know I keep you amused,

but I feel I'm being used

Oh, Maggie, I couldn't

have tried anymore

You led me away from home

Cause you didn't want to be alone

You stole my heart,

and that's what really hurts

Morning sun, when it's in your face.

When it shows your age

That don't worry me

That don't worry me. Not in my eyes

You're everything

I laughed at all of your jokes.

My love, you didn't need to coax

Oh, Maggie, I couldn't

have tried anymore

You led me away from home

Just to save you from being alone

You stole my soul.

And that's what really hurts

Come on Maggie

I suppose I could collect my books

and get on back to school

Or steal my daddy's cue

and make a living out of playing pool

Or find myself a rock 'n' roll band

That needs a helping hand

Oh, Maggie, I wished

I'd never seen your face

You made a first class fool out of me

I'm just blind as a fool can be

You stole my soul. But

I love you anyway

[guitar solo]

Oh!

Maggie, I wish I'd never

seen your face

Oh, Maggie, I wish I'd never seen

your face I got to get back home Maggie

Get back home Maggie

Get back home Maggie

[crowd cheering]

Thank you for being here

for this tremendous cause.

Thanks, Ervin, Azoff and the family.

This next song was written

during the civil uprising in the 1960s.

And I think this one is

apropos for this evening.

This one, People Get Ready.

["People Get Ready" by Rod Stewart]

People get ready

There's a train a coming.

You don't need no baggage

You just get on board

All you need is faith.

To hear the diesels climbing

Don't need no ticket.

You just thank the Lord

People get ready. For

a train to Jordan

Picking up passengers.

From coast to coast

Faith is the key. Open

the doors and blow

There's room for all

[inaudible]

Yeah

[guitar solo]

among the loved the most

[singers vocalizing]

- There ain't no room

- For the hopeless sinner

Who would hurt all mankind.

Just to save his own

Have pity on those

whose chances are thinner

For there's no hiding place.

From the Kingdom's Throne

So people get ready.

There's a train a coming

- You don't need no baggage

- You just get on board

- All you need is faith

- All you need is faith

- To hear the diesels humming

- To hear the diesels humming

You don't need no ticket

You just thank the Lord

Donate my friends, donate.

Thank you for being here, good night

Enjoy the rest of the evening

Ladies and gentlemen, and every other

gender that absolutely exists, I give you.

The incredible John Mayer

[crowd cheers]

["Neon" by John Mayer]

When sky blue gets dark enough

To see the colors of the city lights

A trail of ruby red and diamond white

Hits her like a sunrise

She comes and goes,

and comes and goes like no one can

Tonight she's out to lose herself...

To find a high on Peachtree Street

From mixed drinks to techno beats

it's always heavy into everything

She comes and goes and comes

and goes like no one can

She comes and goes and no one knows

she's slipping through my hands

She's always buzzing

just like neon, neon

Neon, neon

Who knows how long, how long, how long

she can go before she goes

[vocalizing]

[guitar solo]

She comes and she goes like no one can

She comes and she goes she's

slipping through my hands

She's always buzzing

just like neon, neon

Neon, neon

[vocalizing]

Who knows how long, how long, how long

she can go before she bends away

She bends away

She bends away

Thank you, everyone.

It's an honor to be here tonight.

Thank you.

[crowd cheers]

[man in crowd] I love you John!

["Gravity" by John Mayer]

Gravity

It's working against me

Gravity

Wants to bring me down

Oh, I'll never know.

Oh, it makes this man

With all the love.

That his heart can stand

Dream of ways. To throw it all away

Oh, gravity

Oh, it's working against me.

Ooh, yeah

And gravity

Oh, it wants to bring me down

Oh, now, now, twice as much.

And twice as good

And I can't sustain.

Like one half could

It's wanting more

That's gonna send me to my knees

[guitar solo]

[vocalizing]

Oh, now, twice as much.

Hey, twice as good

You know that I can't

sustain like one I could

It's wanting more that's

gonna send me to

my knees

Gravity

Stay the hell away from me

Oh, no, no, no, no.

Gravity

Has taken better men than me.

Now, how can that be?

Just keep me where the light is

Just keep me where the light is

Just keep me where the light is

Come on, keep me where.

Now, keep me where the light is

Keep us on where the light is

Keep you on where the light is

Keep us all where the light,

where the light,

where the light, where the light is

Come on, keep us where the light is

Oh, where the light is

[crowd cheering]

Thank you very much.

- This is a Tom Petty song.

- ["Free Fallin'" by John Mayer]

And for me and so many others growing up,

this was our first insight

into the dream of living in California.

And it is a dream.

And for those whose dreams have broken,

those whose dreams have not, we will get

together tonight and many other nights

to make sure those dreams are repaired.

She's a good girl

Loves her mama

Loves Jesus

And America too

She's a good girl

Crazy 'bout Elvis

Loves horses

And her boyfriend too

Oh, yeah

And it's a long day.

Living in reseda

There's a freeway

Running through the yard.

But I'm a bad boy

cause I don't even miss her

I'm a bad boy.

For breaking her heart

Now I'm free

Free falling, falling

Yeah, I'm free.

Yeah

Free falling, falling

Oh, and all the vampires

walking through the valley

They move west down Ventura Boulevard

And all the bad boys

are standing in the shadows

All of the good girls are home

with broken hearts

And I'm free

Free falling, falling

Yeah, I'm free

Yeah

Free falling, falling

I'm free falling now

I'm free falling now

I'm free fallin' now

I'm free fallin' now

I'm free fallin' now

I'm free fallin' now

I'm free fallin' now

I wanna glide down over Mulholland

I wanna write her name in the sky

I'm gonna free fall out into nothin'

Oh, I'm gonna leave this

world for a while

and I'm free,

Free fallin', fallin' yeah

And I'm free yeah

free fallin', fallin'

then I'm free

Free falling and falling

I'm free falling and

falling and falling

All that I know is I'm falling,

falling, falling

I'm free falling and falling

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

I love you Los Angeles

and surrounding areas.

Thank you very, very much.

[crowd cheering]

[man in crowd] Thank you! Bravo!

[crowd cheering]

Hi, everyone

Hi, I'm Quinta Brunson.

[crowd cheering]

Thank you.

Thank you, guys.

The fires all over LA

have destroyed homes and schools,

disrupting education for thousands.

They have taken an immeasurable toll

on our children, parents,

and the people with one of the most

important and toughest jobs in the world.

Teachers. Yeah.

Right now,

I'd like you to meet one of them,

a math teacher, Aurora Barboza Flores.

Thank you, Quinta.

Good evening, everybody.

It took me 21 years

to save for a down payment.

[Quinta] I got you

My hard work paid off.

Five years ago,

I purchased my dream home in Altadena.

And I was embraced by the community.

So now I've lost more than my home.

I've lost my community, too.

I was so proud to be a homeowner.

So proud to have a place

to call my own in this city.

During the fire, it got so windy,

I had to evacuate.

I kept hearing about friends

and neighbors who lost their homes.

So I borrowed a bike,

put on a mask and goggles,

and went to see the house for myself.

The destruction of the fire in Altadena

made it look like a w*r zone.

Power lines down. Homes and cars burnt.

My house on Glen Rose Avenue was gone.

Everything was gone.

But I did manage to find one thing.

A dish that I used to keep my jewelry in.

It had an inscription which reads,

I think I'll just be happy today.

That's right.

[crowd cheering]

Sometimes that's all we can do.

Even though it's hard,

there are moments that get us through.

- Moments like tonight.

- That's right.

Everybody, let's thank Aurora

and all the teachers out there right now.

[crowd cheering]

Yes.

[crowd continues cheering]

Yes.

Amazing.

Thank you.

So, listen up. Give what you can.

100% of the money given to the fire aid

goes to short term relief

and long term efforts to rebuild.

The info is on the screen.

And now, one of the greatest

groups of all time,

I can't believe I'm standing next to them.

Earth, Wind & Fire

[crowd cheering]

["That's the Way of the World"

by Earth, Wind & Fire]

Everybody, put your hands in the air!

Wave that love.

Here we go.

Hearts of fire

Creates love desire

Take you high and higher

To the world you belong

Hearts of fire

Creates love desire

High and higher

To your place on the throne

We've come together

on this special day

To sing our message

loud and clear

Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh

Looking back we've touched

on sorrowful days

Wow!

Future past, they disappear

Oh, Lord

- You will find

- You fill find

- Peace of mind

- Yeah

If you look way down

In your heart and soul

Don't hesitate

Cause the world seems cold

Stay young at heart

Cause you're never

Never, oh

Never, never,

never, never, never

Yeah, yeah, yeah

- That's the way

- That's the way

Of the world

Of the world

- You plant your flowers

- You plant your flowers

- And you grow a pearl

- You grow a pearl

- Child is born

- Child is born

- With a heart of gold

- With a heart of gold

- The way of the world

- The way of the world

- Makes his heart grow cold

- Makes his heart grow cold

Yeah

All my shining stars

make a noise.

["That's the Way of the World"

by Earth, Wind & Fire]

When you wish upon a star

Dreams will take you very far,

yeah

But when you wish

upon a dream

Life ain't always

what it seems, oh yeah

What'd you see,

on nights so clear

It's the sky's

so fair and dear

Oh yeah, y'all sing.

Shining stars,

No matter who you are

Shining bright to see

What you could truly be

What you could truly be

Shining stars for you to see

What your life can truly be

Everybody clap your hands.

Shining star for you to see

What your life can truly be

Everybody clap your hands.

Shining star for you to see

What your life can truly be

Shining star for you to see

What your life can truly be

["September"

by Earth, Wind & Fire]

Is there a party over here?

Is there a party up there?

Where's the party, y'all?

Everybody come.

Do you remember

The 21st night of September?

Love was changing the mind

of pretenders

While chasin'

the clouds away

Our hearts were ringin'

In the key that our souls

were singin'

As we danced in the night,

remember

How we knew love

was here to stay

Everybody sing!

Ba-dee-ya, say,

do you remember?

Ba-dee-ya,

dancin' in September

Ba-dee-ya,

never was a cloudy day

My thoughts are with you

Holding hands with your heart

to see you

Only blue talk and love,

remember

How we knew

love was here to stay

Now December found the love

that we shared in September

Only blue talk and love,

remember

Yeah, yeah

The true love we share today

Ba-dee-ya, say,

do you remember?

Ba-dee-ya,

dancin' in September

Ba-dee-ya,

never was a cloudy day

Party people in the room,

let's talk. Come on!

Those bell was ringin'

Uh uh,

our souls were singin'

Do you remember

never a cloudy day? Yow

How you doing out there?

Let me hear you say yeah

Everybody party tonight!

Yeah, yeah, yeah

Party people in the house.

Now scream!

Ba-dee-ya, dee-ya, dee-ya

Ba-dee-ya, dee-ya, dee-ya

Ba-dee-ya, dee-ya,

dee-ya, dee-ya!

- Ba-dee-ya, dee-ya, dee-ya

- Kia

W

Ba-dee-ya, dee-ya, dee-ya

Yeah, yeah

...dee-ya, dee-ya, dee-ya!

[crowd cheering]

KIA Forum, you've been

a fantastic audience tonight.

Once again,

are you ready to rock?

[audience] Yeah!

In that case, let me introduce

you to the Black Crowes.

Hell, Yeah.

Los Angeles.

It feels good. It feels good.

It's a rock and roll remedy

["Remedy" by The Black Crowes]

Baby, baby,

why can't you sit still?

Who k*lled that bird

out on your window sill?

Are you the reason

that he broke his back?

Tell me, did I see you baby

laugh about that?

Now I'm gonna bring it all,

take it like a dream?

Why won't you let me tell you

just what I mean?

Now I'm gonna touch you now,

deep inside me

Yeah

Why won't you let it slide?

Can I have some remedy?

Remedy baby!

- Remedy for me please.

- I said I need it

Can I have some remedy?

A remedy, yeah

Please me

Baby, baby

why did you dye your hair?

Why you always keeping

with your mother's dare?

Baby why's who's who,

who know you too?

Did the other children

scold on you?

Have mercy.

If I come on like a dream?

Would you let me show you

what I mean?

Now, If you let me

come on inside?

Will you let it slide?

Can I have some remedy?

Remedy baby

Remedy for me please

I said I need it

Can I have some remedy?

Remedy, yeah

I'd take enough to please me

Get down!

Bobby

Remedy

The world has ever been

so good to see

I need it

Every little thang

And I want it

Yeah,

if only I had the remedy

I want this, I want it

Yeah I need this

I got to shout about it

I want that Remedy...

Need it, need it

Can I have some remedy?

Remedy, yeah

Remedy for me please

Can I have some remedy?

Remedy for me please

Thank you, thank you.

Alright everybody.

Please, welcome to the stage,

Mr. John Fogerty.

How y 'all doing?

I'm so happy to be here.

I'm very happy

you are here, too.

I thank these fellas

for backing me up,

playing a song with me.

Thank you, guys and gals.

Well, this song has a rainbow

in it, and it's just for you.

["Have You Ever Seen the Rain?"

by John Fogerty]

Someone told me long ago

There's a calm

before the storm

I know, it's been comin'

for some time

When it's over, so they say

It'll reign a sunny day

I know,

shinin' down like water

I wanna know

have you ever seen the rain?

I wanna know that

have you ever seen the rain

Comin' down on a sunny day?

Yesterday and days before

Sun is cold and rain is hard

I know, been that way

for all my time

'Til forever, on it goes

Through the circle,

fast and slow

I know, it can't stop,

I wonder

Alright, here we go.

I wanna know that

have you ever seen the rain?

You are beautiful.

I wanna know that

have you ever seen the rain?

Comin' down on a sunny day?

I wanna know that

have you ever seen the rain?

I wanna know that

have you ever seen the rain?

Comin' down on a sunny day?

Out there!

Alright, thank y'all so much.

God bless ya.

[guitar strum]

Well, alright!

Every, everybody comes up

and says it.

He needs no introduction.

Everybody has, uh,

come up tonight and said it.

But I'm gonna say it too,

and we're gonna say it

Thanks to the first responders.

For putting their lives

on the line.

Play a little something

we thought

was appropriate for the evening.

["Going to California"

by Led Zeppelin]

Spent my days

with a woman unkind

Smoked my stuff and drank

all my wine

Made up my mind

to make a new start

Gone to California

with an aching in my heart

Someone told me

there's a girl out there

With love in her eyes,

flowers in her hair

Took my chances

on a big jet plane

Never let them tell you that

they're all, all the same

The sea was red

and the sky was grey

Wondered how tomorrow

Could ever follow today

Mountains and the canyon

start to tremble and shake

As the children of the sun

began to awake

Watch out

Seems like a red, but the

Gods got a punch in the nose

And it's starting to blow

I think I might be sinking

Throw me a line

If I reach it in time,

I'll meet you up there

Where the path runs

straight and high

To find a queen

without a king

They say she plays guitar

and cries and sings

Oh, la, la, la, la, la

Ride a white mare

in the footsteps of dawn

Trying to find a woman

Never, never, never

been born

Standing on a hill

in my mountain of dreams

Telling myself

it's not as hard,

Hard, hard as it seems

Thank you, thank you.

Here, joining Aaron Dessner,

is Gracie Abrams.

["I Love You, I'm Sorry"

by Gracie Abrams]

Two August ago,

I told the truth of you

You didn't like it,

you went home

You're in your Benz,

I'm by the gate

And now you go alone

Charm all the people

You trained for you mean well

but aim low

And I'll make it known

Like I'm getting paid

And that's just the way

life goes

I like to slam

Doors close

Trust me, I know

It's always about me

I love you

I'm sorry

Two summers for now

We'll have been talking but

not all that often

We're cool now

I'll be on a boat

You're on a plane

Going somewhere sane

And I'll have a drink

Whistfully lean out

my window

And watch the sunset

on the lake

I might not feel real

But it's okay

That's just the way

life goes

I push my luck

It shows

Thankful you don't

send someone to k*ll me

I love you

I'm sorry

You were the best

But you were the worst

As sick as it sounds

I loved you first

I was a d*ck

It is what it is

A habit to kick,

the age old curse

I tend to laugh whenever

I'm sad

Stare at the crash

Actually works

Making amends

It never ends

I'm wrong again

Wrong again

The way

Joyriding down our road

Lie on the horn

to prove that it haunts me

I love you

I'm sorry

The way life goes

I wanna speak in code

Hope that I don't,

won't make it about me

I love you

I'm sorry

Thank you so much, LA.

How you doing?

We feel so lucky to be in this

room with all of you tonight.

I just want to say

I grew up in the Palisades

and my heart is with all of my

neighbors

and everyone in Altadena.

And we're just so

deeply blown away

by and grateful for all

the first responders and

all the firefighters who

have put their lives on the line

to protect all of us.

And I think that this

is just such a

beautiful reflection of what

music does is bring people

together in this way.

And I'm just inspired by

all of you in this community.

And I love

Los Angeles very much.

It is home. So we feel very

lucky to be here with you.

And this next song is

a song by Counting Crows

and it's a love letter to LA.

It's called A Long December.

["A Long December"

by Counting Crows]

A Long December

And there's reason

to believe

Maybe this year

will be better than the last

I can't remember

the last thing

That you said

as you were leavin'

Now the days go by so fast

And it's one more day

up in the canyon

And it's one more night

in Hollywood

And if you think that

I could be forgiven

I wish you would

Na na na na na

na na na na na

The smell of hospitals

in winter

And the feeling that it's all

a lot of oysters

And no pearls

And all at once you look

across a crowded room

To see the way

That light attaches to a girl

And it's one more day

up in the canyon

And it's one more night in Hollywood

If you think you might come

to California, I think you should

Na na na na na na na na na na

Na na na na na na na na na na

Drove up to Hillside Manor

sometime after two a.m.

And talked a little while

about the year

I guess the winter makes you laugh

a little slower,

Makes you talk a little lower

about the things you could not show her

And it's been a long December

and there's reason to believe maybe

this year will be better

than the last

I can't remember all the times

I tried to tell myself

to hold on to these moments

as they pass

And it's one more day up in the canyon

And it's one more night in Hollywood

It's been so long

since I've seen the ocean

I guess I should

Na na na na na na na na na na

Na na na na na na na na na na

Thank you so much LA.

We love you.

You can't have a concert for SoCal

without this band.

No Doubt.

Los Angeles!

Fire Aid 2025!

You looking at me.

I said are you looking at me.

["Just A Girl" by No Doubt]

Take this pink ribbon off my eyes

I'm exposed And it's no big surprise

Don't you think I know

exactly where I stay?

This world

is forcing me to hold your hand

'Cause I'm just a girl,

oh little ol' me

Don't let me out of your sight

Oh I'm just a girl,

all pretty and petite

So don't let me have any rights Oh...

I've had it up to here!

The moment that I step outside

So many reasons

for me to run and hide

I can't do the little things

I hold so dear

Cause it's all those

little things that I fear

But I'm just a girl

I'd rather not be

'Cause they won't let me drive

Late at night

Oh I'm just a girl,

Guess I'm some kind of freak

'Cause they all sit and stare

With their eyes

Oh I'm just a girl,

Take a good look at me

Just your typical prototype

Oh...

I've had it up to here!

Let's go.

Here we go here we go.

Oh... am I making myself clear?

Am I making myself clear?

I'm just a girl

I'm just a girl

We love Los Angeles!

We love you, LA!

Alright, I was thinking.

I was thinking.

Because we love LA so much.

I thought that tonight I could have all

the guys, all the LA boys sing with me.

Can we do that tonight?

Tony!

Can we do that tonight?

Alright, here we go.

Just boys. Just boys.

Are you ready?

I'm just a girl!

[audience]

I'm just a girl

Was that good?

Let's try it one more time.

I'm just a girl

[audience] I'm just a girl

I'm just a girl

I'm just a girl

That's pretty good, that's LA good.

Pretty good.

But for boys.

Where are my LA girls at?

Where are my LA girls at?

Let's do this.

I want my ears to bleed, okay?

I'm just a girl

[audience] I'm just a girl!

- I'm just a girl!

- [audience] I'm just a girl!

I'm just a girl in LA

Cause they won't let me.

Oh I'm just a girl, living in captivity

Your rule of thumb makes me worry some

Woh I'm just a girl, what's my destiny?

What I've succumbed to is making me numb

Oh I'm just a girl, my apologies

What I've become is so burdensome

Oh I'm just a girl, lucky me

Twiddle dum there's no comparison

No way here we go

Oh...

I've had it up to

Oh...

I've had it up to

Oh oh oh oh oh...

I've had it up to here

["Don't Speak" by No Doubt]

You and me, we used to be together

Every day together, always

I really feel that

I'm losing my best friend

I can't believe this could be the end

It looks as though you're lettin' go

And if it's real,

well, I don't want to know

Don't speak

I know just what you're sayin'

So please stop explaining

Don't tell me 'cause it hurts

Don't speak

I know what you're thinking

And I don't need your reasons

Don't tell me 'cause it hurts

Oh, memories,

they can be inviting

But some are altogether

mighty frightening

As we die, both you and I

With my head in my hands,

I sit and cry

Oh, oh, oh

Don't speak.

I know just what you're sayin'

So please stop explaining.

Don't tell me 'cause it hurts

No, no, no, no

Don't speak

And I know what you're thinking

And I don't need your reasons

Don't tell me 'cause it hurts

It's all ending

We gotta stop pretending who we are

You and me I can see us dyin'

Aren't we?

Don't speak,

I know just what you're sayin'

So please stop explaining

Don't tell me 'cause it hurts

Don't speak

I know what you're thinkin'

And I don't need your reasons

Don't tell me 'cause it hurts

Don't tell me 'cause it hurts

I know what you're sayin'

So please stop explainin'

Don't speak, don't speak

Don't speak, no

I know what you're thinkin'

And I don't need your reasons

I know you good, I know you good

I know you real good, oh

La, la, la, la

La, la, la, la

Don't, don't, ooh, ooh

Hush, hush, darling

Hush, hush

Hush, hush

Don't tell me 'cause it

It hurts

Get your hands up.

In the air.

Los Angeles get your hands up in the air.

["Spiderwebs" by No Doubt]

You think that we connect

That the chemistry's correct

Your words walk right through my ears

Presuming I like what I hear

And now I'm stuck in the

The web you're spinning

You got me for your prey...

Come on!

Sorry I'm not home right now

I'm walking into spiderwebs

So leave a message

And I'll call you back

A likely story, but leave a message

And I'll call you back

Come on

And you're intruding on what's mine

I mean, you're taking up my time

Don't let the courage inside me...

to tell you, please let me in

Communication

A telephonic invasion

I'm planning my escape

Sorry I'm not home right now

I'm walking into spiderwebs

So leave a message

And I'll call you back

A likely story

But leave a message

and I'll call you back

And it's all your fault

I screen my phone calls

No matter who calls

I gotta screen my phone calls

It's real fun.

It's all about love tonight, you guys.

And we love you so much, Los Angeles.

Look at us all coming together.

All right, you gonna sing with me?

You ready to sing with me?

Here we go.

Now, it's gone too deep

And you wake me in my sleep

In my dreams become nightmares

Because you're ringing in my ears

Sorry I'm not home right now

I'm walking into spiderwebs

So leave a message

and I'll call you back

A likely story, but leave a message

and I'll call you back

And it's all your fault

I screen my phone calls

No matter matter matter matter

who calls I gotta screen my phone calls

Ooh spiderwebs

Leave a message and I'll call you back

I'm walking into spiderwebs

So leave a message

and I'll call you back

It's all your fault

No matter matter matter who calls

I gotta screen my phone calls

It's all your

Los Angeles, California put your hands up!

In the air.

Let's go.

Look how beautiful you are.

No matter who calls

I gotta screen my phone calls

It's all your fault

It's all your fault

The nation's second-largest school

district is dealing with damage.

A dozen schools have been destroyed

in the Palisades and Eaton fires.

Kids cannot go to school.

Kids, and grown-ups,

they don't have anywhere to live.

Now thousands of children

across the burn zones are waiting to hear

about when they can return to class.

The principal said maybe Thursday.

Because they still have to clear it,

I guess.

- And what grade are you in?

- Fifth.

I was born and raised in Altadena and

pretty much everything got burned down.

I lost all my Legos, my braille stuff,

a computer, a keyboard.

I don't really miss anything I lost.

I just miss where we lived.

- We have a nice home, huh?

- Yeah.

Make you think of it, huh?

That was our home

for the ten years that I've been alive.

It's going to be kind of hard

for someone like me to learn a new house.

I can hear better

than anyone I know, I think.

Because I can hear a siren

from farther away than anyone I know can.

I'm kind of excited

for our park to get rebuilt.

Me and my mom went there like almost

every day to ride my bike or my scooter.

I love helping people.

Everyone comes together in situations

like this and works together.

I just hope that we can build

our community bigger and better.

Hello Los Angeles.

I'm Grayson and this is my mom. Terica.

I'm so excited

to be here with y'all tonight.

And I want to thank all the artists

jumping in to help.

The fire took a lot.

But as I told everyone when we were

staying at my uncle's,

when life gives you lemons

or burnt houses,

you make lemonade.

To the people of Altadena,

we will come back stronger.

Get ready everybody.

I'm excited to introduce Tate McRae.

["You Broke Me First" by Tate McRae]

Maybe you don't like talking

too much about yourself

But you should've told me that you were

thinking 'bout someone else

You're drunk at a party or maybe

it's just that your car broke down

Your phone's been off for

a couple months, you're calling me now

I know you, you're like this

When sh*t don't go your way,

you're needing me to fix it

And like me, I did

But I've ran out of every reason

Now, suddenly

you're asking for it back

Could you tell me,

where'd you get the nerve?

Yeah, you could say

you missed all that we had

But I don't really care

how bad it hurts when you broke me

When you broke me first

Took a while,

was in denial when I first heard

That you moved on quicker

than I could ever

You know that hurt

Swear for a while I would stare

at my phone just to see your name

But now that's there,

I don't really know what to say

I know you, you're like this

When sh*t don't go your way,

you need me to fix it

And like me, I did.

But I've ran out of every reason

Now, suddenly

you're asking for it back

Could you tell me,

where'd you get the nerve?

Yeah, you could say

you miss all that we had

But I don't really care how bad it hurts

when you broke me first

You broke me first

What did you think would happen?

What did you think would happen?

I'll never let you have it

What did you think would happen?

Now, suddenly

you're asking for it back

Could you tell me,

where'd you get the nerve?

Yeah, you could say

you missed all that we had

But I don't really care

how bad it hurts when you broke me

When you broke me first

When you broke me first

You broke me first

Hi everyone I'm name is Tate

So, nice to meet you guys.

This is an absolute honor

to preform here tonight.

I moved to Los Angeles four years ago.

With a dream to become a musican.

And um...

I feel so lucky and blessed now to call it

my home.

Um, it's been a really

devastating start of the year.

But I think we can all agree on

is how much we come together

has been a magical thing to watch.

And I'm so grateful

to just be a part of this.

And for every single person

who showed up tonight.

And every artist who performed.

So, thank you.

We are now going to sing a cover

of Don't Dream It's Over.

["Don't Dream It's Over"

by Crowded House]

There is freedom within

There is freedom without

Try to catch the deluge in a paper cup

There is a battle ahead

Many battles have lost

But you'll never see

the end of the road

Traveling with me

Hey now, hey now

Don't dream it's over

Hey now, hey now

When the world comes in

They come

They come

To build a wall between us

Who know they won't win

Now I'm towing my car

There's a hole in the roof

My possessions

are causing me suspicion

but there's no proof

In the paper today

tales of w*r and of waste

But you turn right over

to the T.V. page

Hey now, hey now

Don't dream it's over

Hey now, hey now

When the world comes in

They come

They come

To build a wall between us

We know they won't win

Sing it if you know it!

Hey now, hey now

Don't dream it's over

Hey now, hey now

When the world comes in

They come, they come

To build a wall between us

I know they won't win

Hey now, hey now

Don't dream it's over

Hey now, hey now

They won't win

Hey now, hey now

Build a wall between us

Hey now, hey now

Let's keep it going for Jelly Roll.

Love you guys. Thank you.

I am honored to bring some country music

to the Fire Aid tonight.

What's up Los Angeles?

["I Am Not Okay" by Jelly Roll]

I am not okay

I'm barely getting by

I'm losing track of days

I'm losing sleep at night

And I am not okay

I'm hanging on the rails

So if I say I'm fine, just know that

I learned to hide it well

I know I can't be the only one

Who's holding on for dear life

But God knows, I know

When it's all said and done

I'm not okay,

but it's all gonna be alright

It's not okay,

but we're all gonna be alright

Ain't that right, California?

I woke up today

I almost stayed in bed

I had the devil on my back

And voices in my head

Some days it ain't all bad

Some days it all gets worse

Some days I swear

I'm better off than laying in that dirt

Come on!

I know I can't be the only one

Who's holding on for dear life

God knows,

I know when it's all said and done

I'm not okay,

but it's all gonna be alright

It's not okay,

but we're all gonna be alright

Gonna be alright

We're gonna be alright

Listen to me.

I know one day

we'll see the other side

The pain will wash away

in a holy water time

We're all gonna be alright

Come on, rock with me!

I know I can't be the only one

Who's holding on for dear life

God knows,

I know when it's all said and done

I see you.

I'm not okay,

but it's all gonna be alright

It's not okay,

but we're all gonna be alright

I'm not okay

It's all gonna be alright

Yes!

My name is Jason Jelly Roll Dee Ford.

I am from Nashville, Tennessee

and it is an honor to be here tonight.

But I think it's important

while I'm on this stage

that I sing one of my favorite songs

by one of my favorite songwriters about

one of my favorite cities in America.

But it would only be right

if I did it with somebody

from Los Angeles, California.

So I would like to bring my big brother,

Mr. Travis Barker

out to play the drums tonight.

Travis, what you say?

We play a little song for them

Hollywood nights, baby!

["Hollywood Nights" by Hollywood Nights]

She stood there bright as the sun

on that California coast

He was a midwestern boy on his own

She looked at him with those soft eyes

so innocent and blue

He knew right there

he was too far from home

Oh, yes, I am, baby!

Woo!

She took his head and she led

him along that golden beach

They watched the waves

come a little over the sand

They drove for miles and miles

up those twisted turning roads

Higher and higher

and higher they climbed

You know this?

In those Hollywood nights,

In those Hollywood hills

She was looking so right

In her diamonds and frills

Oh those big city nights

In those high rolling hills

Above all the lights

She had all of her skills

He'd headed west cause he felt

that a change would do him good

Y'all know what I'm talking about.

See some old friends,

it'd be good for the soul

She had been born with a face

that would let her get away

He lost that face and he

lost all control

He had lost all control

Night after night, day after day,

it went on and on

Then came that morning

he woke up alone

He spent all night staring

down at the lights on LA

Wondering if he could ever go home

No, I'm not baby

And those Hollywood nights

In those Hollywood hills

She was looking so right

It was giving him chills

In those big city nights

In those high rolling hills

Above all the lights

With a passion that kills

In those Hollywood nights

In those Hollywood hills

In those Hollywood nights

[repeat] Come on

In those Hollywood nights [repeat]

In those Hollywood nights

One of the greatest ever

to do it, Travis Barker.

We love you Los Angeles.

She is LA Rock Royalty!

And one of my favorite

artists of all time!

Stevie Nicks!

["Stand Back" by Stevie Nicks]

No one looked as I walked by

Just an invitation

would have been just fine

Said no to him again and again

First he took my heart then he ran

No one knows how I feel

What I say unless you

read between my lines

One man walked away from me

First he took my hand he said take it

Stand back stand back

In the middle of my room,

I did not hear from you

It's alright, it's alright

To be standing in a line

To be standing in a line

I would

La, la, lala, la

Do not turn away my friend

Like a willow I can bend

No man calls my name

No man came

So I walked on down away from you

Maybe your attention was more

Than I could do

One man did not call

He asked me for my love

He said take it

Stand back stand back

In the middle of my room

I did not hear from you

It's alright it's alright

To be standing in a line

To be standing in a line

I would

So I walked on down the

line away from you

Maybe my attention was more

than I could do

One man did not call

well he asked me for too much

He said, take it

Stand back, stand back

In the middle of my room

I did not hear from you

It's alright it's alright

To be standing in a line

To be standing in a line

I would

I feel like I need a little sympathy

I feel like I need a little sympathy

I feel like I need a little sympathy,

baby

I'm just standing there

To be standing there

To be standing there

Take me home

Why don't you just take me home

Why don't you just take me home

Just standing there

Just standing there

Just standing there

Stand back

Stand back

Thank you.

I've been on the road for two solid years,

and I've just been off

for about three or four weeks,

right before the fire started.

I love you!

Thank you. I love you, too.

And I'm going to go a little bit

rogue here and actually talk

to you about what happened.

I have something here that I have to read

because it's important, but I want you

to know, for the first time in my life,

knowing that I was a full on Pacific

Palisadean woman

with an old, beautiful, famous house

that was almost taken from me as a fire

came up the hill behind my house.

And I was pretty sure, as they whisked

me away, and evacuated me, my least

favorite word now, to another safe place,

that when I turned around and looked,

my house would be up in flames.

And due to the fact that my house

was wood, because it was built in 38,

it would have set the rest

of the whole street on both sides on fire.

So, she stands strong, just like her mom.

And in my opinion,

she saved that whole street.

And so, when I look at her now,

I have yet to go back inside.

I've just walked around the house

and seen it.

And just to go like, you know what,

there is a God.

Sometimes when you think that everything

is lost, you have to believe.

Even if you're not religious,

you have to go, there is a God.

And that God saved that house for me,

because without her,

I don't know what I would have done.

So, I wanted to share that story with you.

And now, the reason it got saved is

because it was a team from Santa Rosa, the

Santa Rosa firefighters that saved her.

And they never gave up,

I have to tell you.

Not just on my house, but on the

whole side of the whole mountain canyon

that was coming up towards us.

And so, I'd like to dedicate this

next song to all of those firefighters.

Because until you really see it happen,

you can't believe it.

You just simply cannot believe

the bravery of these men.

Captain Dean, especially.

So, I'd like to dedicate

this song to them.

It's called Landslide.

["Landslide" by Fleetwood Mac]

Took my love and I took it down

Climbed a mountain and I turned around

And I saw my reflection

In the snow covered hills

Till the landslide brought me down

Oh, mirror in the sky,

what is love?

Can the child within my

heart rise above?

Can I sail through

the changing ocean tides?

Can I handle the seasons

of my life?

Uh oh, I don't know

Oh, well, I don't know

Well, I've been afraid of changing

Cause I, I built my life around you

Oh, but the time makes you bolder

Children get older

And I'm getting older, too

Yes, I'm getting older, too

So

I've been afraid of changin'

'Cause I've built my life around you

Oh, but time makes you bolder

And the children,

they get older

I'm getting older too

Oh yes, I'm getting older too

So, take this love

Take it down

Oh, if you climb that mountain

and you turn around

If you see my reflection

In the snow covered hills

Well, the landslide

will bring you down, down

And if you see my reflection in the

Snow

Covered hills

Well, the landslide will bring it down

Well, well the landslide

will bring it down

Thank you.

For a girl who lives on the stage,

it's very nerve wracking.

["Edge of Seventeen" by Stevie Nicks]

Just like the white winged dove

Sing the song,

sounds like she's singing

Ooh, ooh, ooh

Just like the white winged dove

Sing the song,

sounds like she's singing

Ooh, ooh, ooh

When the days go by like a strand

in the wind, in the web that is my own

I'll begin again

I said to my friend, baby,

you know nothin' else mattered

He was no more than a baby then

Well he is he brokenhearted?

something within him

Well, but the moment that I first laid

Eyes on him all alone

Just sat on the edge of seventeen

Just like the white winged dove

Sing the song,

sounds like she's singing

- Ooh, ooh, ooh

- Just like the white winged dove

Sing the song,

sounds like she's singing

Ooh, ooh, ooh

Well then suddenly...

there was no one left standing

In the hall well, well

In a flood of tears

That no one really ever heard fall

Oh I went searchin' for an answer

Up the stairs and down the hall

Not to find an answer...

just to hear the call

Of a nightbird

Singing come away come away

Just like the white winged dove

Sing the song,

sounds like she's singing

- Ooh, baby, ooh, say ooh

- Just like the white winged dove

Sing the song,

sounds like she's singing it to y'all

baby, ooh, say ooh

Well I hear you in the morning...

baby, I tell you but I hear it

At nightfall...

sometime to be near you

Is to be unable to hear you

My love I'm a few years

older than you are

I'm a few years older than you

Just like the white winged dove

Sing the song,

sounds like she's singing

Ooh, baby, ooh, say ooh

Just like the white winged dove

Sing the song,

sounds like she's singing

Ooh, baby, ooh, say ooh

I hear the call of a nightbird

I hear the call of a night bird

I still hear the call of a night bird

Oh she said, come away, come away

Come with me now Well, yeah

She said somewhere deep

in the middle of the night, my baby

I'll think about you

She said somewhere deep

in the middle of the night, my baby

I'll think about you

She says I know what it sounds like

I know what it sounds like

I know what it sounds like

Sounds like you,

you, you, you

I know what it sounds like

I know what it sounds like

When doves cry

Thank you everybody.

You have been totally a pleasure

to play for and an awesome audience.

And take care of yourselves

most important.

What I mostly care about

is just really take care of yourselves.

We love you.

I'm just moving,

I don't understand exactly why.

This is easy.

And now, accompanied by the Pasadena

Chorale, from Altadena, my friend, Mrs.

Katy Perry!

["Rise" by Katy Perry]

I won't just survive

Oh, you will see me thrive

Can write my story

I'm beyond the archetype

I won't just conform

No matter how you shake my core

Cause my roots,

they run deep, oh

Oh, you have so little faith

Don't doubt it, don't doubt it

Victory is in my veins

I know it, I know it

And I will not negotiate

I'll fight it

I'll fight it

I will transform

When, when the fires

at my feet again

And the vultures all start circling

They're whispering

- You're out of time, but still I rise

- Rise

This is no mistake, no accident

When you think the final nail is in

Think again

Don't be surprised

I will still rise

Thank you so much to the Pasadena chorale.

California we always rise.

And we always roar,

don't we? Let's go!

["Roar" by Katy Perry] I used

to bite my tongue and hold my breath

Scared to rock the boat and

make a mess, so I sit quietly

Agreed politely I guess it

I forgot I had a choice

I let you push me past a breaking point

I stood for nothing

So I will for everything

You hug me down,

but I got up

Already brushing off the dust

You hear my voice

You hear that sound

Like thunder gonna shake the ground

You held me down,

but I got up

Get ready 'cause I've had enough

I see it all

I see it now

Sing it!

I got the eye of the tiger, a fighter

Dancing through the fire

'Cause I am a champion,

and you're gonna hear me roar

Louder, louder than a lion

'Cause I am a champion,

and you're gonna hear me roar!

Oh, sing it!

You're gonna hear me roar

Now I'm floating like a butterfly

Stinging like a bee I earned my stripes

I went from zero,

to my own hero

You held me down,

but I got up

Already brushing off the dust

You hear my voice, you hear that sound

Like running, gonna shake the ground

You held me down, but I know

- Get ready 'cause I've had enough

- Oh, shake it up

Sing it

I got the eye of the tiger, a fighter

Dancing through the fire

'Cause I am a champion,

and you're gonna hear me roar

Oh, louder, louder than a lion

'Cause I am a champion

And you're gonna hear me roar!

No no no no no no

You're gonna hear me roar!

No no no no no no

LA!

You're gonna hear

Me roar

Thank you.

You guys.

Thank you so much for having me.

I'm so happy to be here.

To participate

in such an incredible, uplifting event.

Can we keep this energy going forever?

This is what makes us human.

This is what separates

us from the robots.

This is humanity. This is love.

This is kindness.

And I have been so inspired

by how quickly our community organized

to help all of our neighbors in need.

It really reminds me

that the people have the power.

California, you are such a unique state,

and I am so proud.

Are you so proud to be a California girl?

Yes!

Okay, let's go.

Let's show them how proud we are.

["California Gurls" by Katy Perry]

Let's go!

Let's go again.

Let's go!

Let's go.

I know a place, sing it!

- Where the grass is really greener

- That's right.

Warm, wet and wild

There must be something in the water

Sippin' gin and juice

Laying underneath the palm trees

The boys break their necks

Trying to creep a little

sneak peek at us

You could travel the world

But nothing comes close

to the golden coast

Once you party with us

You'll be falling in love

Oh, oh, ohhh

California girls, we're unforgettable

Daisy Dukes, bikinis on top

Sun kissed skin, so hot

- We'll melt your Popsicle

- Oh, oh, ohhh

California girls, we're undeniable

Fine, fresh, fierce, we got it on lock

West coast, represent, now

put your hands up

If you love California,

let's go!

Oh, oh, ohhh California

California girls

California

California girls

California

Thank you, god bless you.

LA we love you.

These dire scenes

are playing out all across L.A.

county, but evidence of resilience

emerges, neighbors uniting in their own

firefight, banding together.

When you see your next door

neighbor's house on fire,

it's really hard not to try to help out.

When the Palisades fire took off,

we fought the fires together.

- I had never met Michael.

- No.

I met Chris, who was a complete stranger,

in front of my house.

I kept on hearing on the news that there

was only one way in and one way out.

I got in my car. I found a house.

It was on fire.

I got a garden hose on it

until the firefighters came up.

My dad's a 35 year veteran fireman,

and I don't know if it was the blood

in him that got to me, but I just wanted

to get over there as quickly as I could.

We found a car that was running,

and we used that as our fire truck.

He was adamant. I was adamant.

We were not letting

this neighborhood go down.

This was something that we were

gonna do, and we were gonna...

We're gonna do it together.

We're gonna do it together.

All night long, going into people's

backyards, putting out ember fires.

Without the two of us together,

I don't think I could have done it solo.

There's a lot of emotion going on.

I mean, we're gonna be

connected forever on this.

Yeah.

We had one night,

and this is not our profession.

So I just... to all the firefighters

and first responders out there,

you're amazing, and thank you

for all the work that you did.

Everybody knows the palaces

as a very tight knit community.

This is part of my soul.

I've been there since I was a little kid.

This community is strong.

It's gonna thrive.

It's gonna come back.

["Breed" by Nirvana]

I don't care, I don't care,

I don't care, I don't care

I don't mind, I don't mind [repeat]

Get away [repeat] from your home

I'm afraid, afraid, ghost

Even if you have

Even if you need I don't mean to stare,

we don't have to breed

We could plant a house,

we could build a tree I don't even care

we could have all three

She said [repeat]

I don't care, I don't care [repeat]

I don't mind, I don't mind [repeat]

Get away, away from your home [repeat]

I'm afraid ghost [repeat]

Even if you have

even if you need I don't mean to stare,

we don't have to breed

We could plant a house,

we could build a tree I don't even care

Yeah!

if you have, even if you need I don't

We can plant a house

we can build a tree I don't even care,

Yeah!

Thank you.

Thank you, St. Vincent.

I would like to introduce.

It's not just homes and humans

that are being impacted by these fires,

but also innocent animals.

Right over here you can see

more people coming.

With their horses.

It's not just about protecting

people and property.

Pets also need relief from these fires.

She couldn't get the cat out from under

the bed, so she had to make a choice.

But among the tragic destruction,

there are glimmers of hope and heroism.

Initially, my dad and I had came up

to check on our house and our neighbor's

horse, Sovereignty, helping my neighbors

was definitely important to me.

They helped me a lot in my riding career,

and I was really worried

about Sovereignty.

He's definitely a spooky horse.

The fire was burning everywhere around,

and I was like,

oh, this is not going to be okay.

They had already tried

to evacuate Sovereignty, but they

couldn't get him into the trailer.

He was too scared to get in.

And so, once we were up here,

I knew the only way to get him down was

to ride him down to the canyon to safety.

I think that way.

My dad was kind of skeptical at first.

I didn't think it was a great idea for us

to be driving through all the crazy

terrain, but when Kalinda decides

she's doing something,

there's no telling her no.

Sovereignty was really nervous.

The fire was burning everywhere around.

A lot of telephone poles down, rocks

in the road, traffic coming through really

fast because everybody was getting out.

Every time he got a little spooked, I

hopped down and gave him a little comfort

and we walked him through and then

got back on, walked as far as we could.

And it was kind of like that

the whole time, but I knew

that was the only way to get him down.

We ended up riding Sovereignty 10 miles.

Once I got him to safety, I felt really

relieved that he was going to be safe.

Because stuff can be replaced.

I don't think animals can.

All right, Intuit Dome.

It's time to get on your feet.

For one of hip hop's hottest artists,

Lil Baby!

["So Sorry" by Lil Baby]

- Hands up right now.

- I'm so sorry

Baby, I'm so sorry

- I'm so sorry

- Make some noise for the baby.

I thought you was my friend

I thought we locked in

But that's what I get

Always thinking

You really was my twin

I put all the time in

Been talking to God

I'm trying to shake this thing

Got me telling on your skin

I ain't trying to force it

I'm knowing that all

good things come to an end

I got so many questions

Hope you got the answers

But I just don't know how I should ask

Like what you was doing when I called

And you didn't ask that

I seen the new ribbons on your arm

When you get that from

Why are you always that naked up

on your platform?

He told me he tried

But you ain't going to think I'm back

I'm ready to see me moving on

You think you're bad now

I take advantage of it

I really care for you

I left 10,000 roses on

the stairs for you

Hope you don't slip and fall on my love

Take care of your

You don't got to worry about nothing

Have with your friends

on the first set of mine

No inconsistence

I'm there for you constantly

Start to think you

Don't think you

You're the one for me

Ain't talking weeks

how the people don't run for me

You know what they said?

What I'm saying?

It wasn't me

I always say, put it

They say that you done for me

Without me,

I don't see how you function

Baby, let's get flyin'

Go to a new planet

We won't see nobody

I'm with some known K*llers

And acting on paper

Bro, we like four bodies

Remember my nose snotty

And now I do two shows

I go cop with Bugatti

I know that you're so tired

Hearing my apologies

But baby, I'm so sorry

Baby, let's get flyin'

Go to a new planet

We won't see nobody

I'm with some known K*llers

And acting on paper

Bro, we like four bodies

Remember my nose snotty

And now I do two shows

I go cop with Bugatti

I know that you're so tired

Hearing my apologies

But baby, I'm so sorry

Baby, I'm so sorry

Baby, I'm so sorry

Baby, I'm so sorry

Baby, I'm so sorry

Baby, I'm so sorry

Baby, I'm so sorry

You're only sorry because

you got caught

I've seen you and him on

some sh*t that I've bought

Ain't trippin' nobody

Ain't sippin' nobody

You know you the fly,

as you really the one

Turn off my phone,

get some peace on the island

She antisocial with me,

she be wildin'

Cold blending gangsta,

I still got emotions though

Vintage and everyone shoppin' in Tokyo

Spendin' time with you

Wine and dining

You spend my life with you

I don't lie to you

I admire you, bust that fire for you

You ever been with a soldier?

I overly mold you, that other b*tch old

news I know I was gon' have you one day

I told you

I'm not the guy that tried to make me

I showed you I made

the whole world talk about you

I love on you hard You are always

Hope we don't go apart

Buy you every new car

just to say that you got it

I'm knowin' your size,

I buy in and surprise you

Everything' we do private,

let's go to Dubai

Baby, let's get fly and go to a new

planet we won't see nobody

I'm with some known K*llers and that

sh*t on paper, bro, he like four bodies

Remember my nose snotty, now I do two

shows, and go cop a Bugatti I know

That you're so tired of my apologies

But baby, I'm so sorry!

Baby, let's get fly

Go to a new planet

We won't see nobody

I'm with some known K*llers and that

sh*t on paper, bro, he like four bodies

Remember my nose snotty

now I do two shows, and go cop a Bugatti

I know that sh*t's so tired

And my apologies, but baby, I'm so sorry

Baby, I'm so sorry

Baby, I'm so sorry

Baby, I'm so sorry

Baby, I'm so sorry

Baby, I'm so sorry

LA, how y'all doing tonight?

Before I go to my next song,

I want to just say my heart goes out

to everybody affected by the fires.

And I want to give a super,

super shout out and a round of applause

to the first responders around the world.

Hey, hands up right now.

You know this at home.

We gon' sing along with Lil Baby one time.

On three.

Right side, left side, in the back.

- One, two.

- A love letter came through the mail

They said, I miss you I ripped it

up and flushed with the tissue

Trying to forget you

I ain't got nothing against you

We human

We all got issues

But I'm tired of being tired

of being tired

That part of me didn't die

I see it and I don't act like I'm blind

I'm confident it won't be one of mine

I know emotions come with lies

So I tell the truth all the time

Ain't got no sympathy for no b*tch

And I'm rich

And I'm rich

Jumping up on stages

I get 200 an occasions

Bro had really f*cked the game up

we made n*gg*s shut they trap

They see how I made it

I'm the reason they won't rap now

See me out in traffic

make a hater pull his hat down

The biggest OG salute me

The stylist can't even style me

The robbers probably wanna get me

I'm hopping out Lamborghini's

The youngins turn in my city

They try me

I get it cracking

Some of this still would happen

if I never had started rapping

My people in them steady trapping

and they still be getting active

I tell them to chill

I'm tryna run up these M's

Pay cash and then need post a crib

I can't show nobody where my mama live,

that's how I 'posed to feel

My niece just asked me

were my diamonds real I said, of course

I just played the hand that I was dealt

didn't have to force

All around the world

they know it's me, they hear my voice

And I done it all in a

pair of Diors, yeah

Sometimes I feel like

I don't have a partner

Sometimes I feel like my only friend

Is the city I live in,

the city of angels

Lonely as I am, together we cry

I drive on her streets

because she's my companion

I walk through

her hill because she knows who I am

She sees my good deeds

and she kisses me windy I never worry

Now that is a lie

I don't ever want to feel

like I did that day

Take me to the place I love

Take me all the way

I don't ever want to feel

like I did that day

Take me to the place I love

Take me all the way

Yeah. Yeah, yeah

It's hard to believe

that there's nobody out there

It's hard to believe

that I'm all alone

At least I have heard of the sh*t

that she loves me

Lonely as I am, together we cry

I don't ever want to feel

like I did that day

Take me to the place I love,

take me all the way

I don't ever want

to feel like I did that day

Take me to the place I love

Take me all the way, Yeah

Yeah, yeah

Oh, yeah, now, now, now, yeah, yeah

Lonely as I am, together we cry

Is where I drew some blood

I could not get enough

Forgot about my love

I gave my life away

Now, yeah yeah

Oh, yeah, now, now, now, yeah, yeah

Thank you for showing up LA.

Tomorrow and the day after too.

How you guys doing? Good?

Well, I'm Miles Teller. And...

Thank you, guys.

First, I just want to give a shout out.

I know there's a lot

of first responders here tonight.

There's a lot watching at home

so thank you all for keeping us safe.

Thank you.

My wife and I, like so many others living

in the Pacific Palisades, lost our home in

the fires and my heart breaks for everyone

who's been affected across the city.

Truly my heart goes out to all you guys.

And tonight I'm standing next to someone

from the Palisades who has lost a lot

and he's here to share his story with us.

And I actually just found out backstage

that we lived on the same street.

This is my neighbor.

Please meet Chad Comey.

Thanks Miles.

I lived in the Palisades

with my disabled parents.

My dad is blind. My mom's in a wheelchair.

I'm their caregiver.

Our condo had been in the family

since 1974 when my grandparents bought it.

We loved our home.

We were one of the last families

to leave the area.

When it was time to evacuate,

when it was time to evacuate,

I grabbed my neighbor and we carried my

mom down five flights of stairs.

[crowd cheering]

My dad was stubborn and stayed behind.

I was super worried about him.

I couldn't sleep that night.

He couldn't get out because of the heat

and he had to spend the night

in the underground garage.

Thankfully, he survived.

My dad was a special ed teacher

and my parents was a teacher, yeah.

And my parents lived on Social Security.

You know it. You know it.

You're living it too.

Well, we didn't have insurance.

We lost so much.

But we didn't lose everything.

We lost our photographs.

But we didn't lose our family memories.

We lost our house.

But we didn't lose our home.

We lost our residence.

But we didn't lose our resilience.

The Palisades.

This entire city. Los Angeles.

The city I call home. I love you guys.

We will persevere.

Yes, we will.

And I wanted to mention one more thing.

I heard that you are a huge Green Day fan.

Who's not?

And one of the prized possessions

that you lost in the fire was a drumstick

that you caught at one of the concerts.

Yeah.

Well, Green Day's drummer,

Trey Cool, heard about that.

And you know what?

He's got a little surprise for you.

Where's he at? Hey!

[inaudible off mike dialogue]

Everyone, please go to FireAidLA.org

and give what you can.

All of the money raised will go directly

to people who need it now.

And towards long term efforts

to build the communities back.

And help me out with this.

Please join us in welcoming...

[crowd cheers]

["Driver's License" by Olivia Rodrigo]

I got my driver's license last week

Just like we always talked about

Cause you were so excited for me

To finally drive up to your house,

but today I drove through the suburbs

Crying cause you weren't

Cause you're probably

with that blonde girl

You always made me doubt

She's so much older than me

She's everything I'm insecure about

Yet today I drove through the suburbs

Cause how could I ever

love someone else?

And I know we weren't perfect

But I've never felt

this way for no one

And I just can't imagine

how you could be so okay

Now that I'm gone

Guess you didn't mean

what you wrote in that song about me

Cause you said forever

Now I drive alone past your street

And all my friends are tired.

Of hearing how much I miss you,

but I kinda feel sorry for them

Cause they'll never know you

the way that I do

Yet today I drove through the suburbs

And pictured I was driving home to you

And I know you weren't perfect

But I've never felt

this way for no one

And I just can't imagine

how you could be so okay

Now that I'm gone

Guess you didn't mean

what you wrote in that song about me

Cause you said forever

now I drive alone past your street

Red lights, stop signs

I still see your face

In the white cars, front yards

Can't drive past the places

We used to, go to

Cause I still f*ck' love you babe

Whoo, oh!

Sidewalks we crossed

I still hear your voice

In the traffic, we're laughing

Over all the noise

God I'm so blue, know we're through

But I still f*ck' love you babe

I know we weren't perfect

But I've never felt

this way for no one

And I just can't imagine

how you could be

so okay now that I'm gone

Sing it!

Audience: Guess you didn't mean

what you wrote in that song about me

Audience: Cause you said forever

now I drive alone past your street

Yeah you said forever

now I drive alone past your street

Thank you guys so much for having me.

Thank you so much for being here.

It has been so heartbreaking

to witness all of this devastation

in this incredible city.

I love LA so much.

I've lived here my whole life.

I love everybody who lives in LA.

You guys are amazing.

I find this place so beautiful

and so inspiring.

And I've written many songs

about living here in my life.

Like this one. So here it goes.

["Deja Vu" by Olivia Rodrigo]

Car rides to Malibu

Strawberry ice cream,

one spoon for two

And trading jackets

Laughing 'bout how small

it looks on you

Ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah ah

Watching reruns of Glee

Being annoying Singing in harmony

I'll bet she's bragging to all your

friends saying you're so unique

So when you gonna tell her

that we did that, too?

She thinks it's special

But it's all reused

that was our place I found it first

I made the jokes you tell her

when she's with you

Do you get deja vu

when she's with you? You

Do you get deja vu? Ah

Do you get deja vu? Ahh

Do you call her

Almost say my name?

'Cause let's be honest

We kinda do sound the same

Another actress

I hate to think that

I was just your type

I'll bet that she knows Billy Joel

Cause you played her uptown girl.

You're singing it together

Now I bet you even tell her

How you love her

In between the chorus and the verse

So when you're gonna tell her.

That we did that, too?

She thinks it's special,

but it's all reused

That was the show we talked about

Played you the song

She's singing now

When she's with you

Do you get deja vu?

When she's with you, you

Do you get deja vu? Ah

Do you get deja vu?

Come on!

Strawberry ice cream in Malibu

Don't act like

we didn't do that sh*t too

You're trading jackets

like we used to do

Yeah, everything is all reused

Play her piano, but she doesn't know

That I was the one

who taught you Billy Joel

A different girl now,

but there's nothing new

I know you get deja vu

Everyone on this side!

Are you gonna sing this part with me?

Can you sing it? Sing it!

- I know you get deja vu

- Everyone on this side!

Can you sing it? be louder.

Let me hear it.

Audience: I know you get deja vu

All together now LA. I love you so much.

Audience: I know you get deja vu

I know you get deja vu

[audience shouts and cheers]

Shadows are falling,

and I'm running out of breath

Keep me in your heart for a while

There's a train leaving nightly called

when all is said and done

Keep me in your heart for a while

Oh my God!

Thank you, man.

Sha la la la la la la la la la la

Keep me in your heart for a while

Hold me in your thoughts.

Take me to your dreams

And I will be right next to you

That was our kitchen. It's just gone.

Everything is just gone.

Oh God.

Sha la la la la la la la la la

Keep me in your heart for a while

Keep me in your heart for a while

Ladies and gentlemen, the legendary Sting!

["Message in a Bottle" by Sting]

One, two, three, hey!

Just a cast away,

an island lost at sea oh

Another lonely day with no one

here but me, oh More loneliness

than any man could bear

Rescue me before I fall into despair

I'll send an SOS to the world

I hope that someone gets my

I hope that someone gets

my message in a bottle

Message in a bottle yeah

A year has passed

since I wrote my note

I should have known this

right from the start

Only hope can keep me together

Love can mend your life,

but love can break your heart

I'll send an SOS to the world

Hey!

I hope that someone gets my

I hope that someone gets

my message in a bottle

Message in a bottle, yeah

Message in a bottle

Message in a bottle

[audience claps]

Walked out this morning

I don't believe what I saw

A hundred billion bottles

washed up on my shore

Seems I'm not alone in being alone

A hundred billion castaways

looking for a home

I'll send an SOS to the world

I hope that someone gets my

I hope that someone gets

my message in a bottle

Message in a bottle, yeah

Message in a bottle

Message in a bottle

Sending out an SOS

Sending out an SOS

Sending out an SOS

Sending out an SOS

Sending out

I'm sending out an SOS

I'm sending out an SOS

I'm sending out an SOS

I'm sending out an SOS

I'm sending out an SOS

I'm sending out an SOS

I'm sending out an SOS

I'm sending out an SOS

Yeah-oh

["Driven To Tears" by Sting]

How can you say

that you're not responsible?

What does it have to do with me?

What is my reaction, what should it be?

Confronted by this latest atrocity

Driven to tears

Driven to tears

Driven to tears

Hide my face in my hands,

shame wells in my throat

My comfortable existence is reduced

to a shallow meaningless party

Seems that when some innocent die

All we can offer them is a page

in a some magazine

Too many cameras and not enough food

'Cos this is what we've seen

Driven to tears

Driven to tears

Driven to tears

Whoa, oh, oh

Whoa, oh, oh

Whoa, oh, oh

Whoa, oh, oh

Protest is futile,

nothing seems to get through

What's to become of our world

Who knows what to do?

How can you say

that you're not responsible?

What does it have to do with me?

What is my reaction?

What should it be?

Confronted by this latest atrocity

Driven to tears Driven to tears

Driven to tears Driven to tears

Driven to tears Driven to tears

Driven to tears

Yeah...

["Fragile" by Sting]

If blood will flow

When flesh and steel are one

Drying in the color

of the evening sun

Tomorrow's rain

Will wash the stains away

But something in our mind

will always stay

Perhaps this final act was meant

To clinch our lifetime's argument

That nothing come from violence

And nothing ever could

For all those born

beneath an angry star

Lest we forget how fragile we are

We'll fall

On and on the rain

We'll fall

Like tears from the storm

Like tears from the storm

On and on the rain

will say how fragile we are

How fragile we are

Like tears from the storm

On and on the rain

We'll fall

Like tears from the storm

On and on the rain

We'll sing

How fragile we are

How fragile we are

How fragile we are

How fragile we are

How fragile we are

How fragile we are

How fragile we are

Good night LA, thank you.

[crowd cheers]

The raw emotion of coming back to nothing.

In Altadena,

thousands more families homeless.

That's where I live, and I have nothing.

But with the shoes I have on,

everything is gone.

I'll be okay.

Even though I'm 91 years old,

I'll start over again.

The day after the fire,

we drove up towards my grandma's house.

And as we sort of turned down her street,

we saw what was left of her house,

which was just a chimney.

My grandmother's recently been

diagnosed with Alzheimer's.

It's been very, very difficult for her

to adjust to a new setting.

She's asking, when can I go home?

And I know that none of this

makes any sense to her.

I'll hear her just whispering, praying,

and just hoping for some sort of semblance

of peace, normalcy, and understanding.

The community has rallied around itself

in a way that is, it's just so beautiful.

People who I haven't spoken to since maybe

like high school, since middle school,

are checking in with me about my family

and helping in any way they can.

Whether it's dropping off water bottles

or some pajamas for my grandmother,

so like, she can feel a little bit

more comfortable in a strange bed.

LA has shown up for the community.

All of these people are able to set

aside their differences and look

at the other person and say, are you okay?

What do you need?

I believe that this is what people can be

for each other, should be for each other.

And I would just encourage us

to remember how it feels to show up

for our community in this way.

And make it our mission

and effort to do that every day.

And next up, we have one

of the biggest names in Latin music.

Peso Pluma.

["La Bebe" By Peso Pluma]

In Spanish:

Latinos from Los Angeles!

[singing in Spanish]

In Spanish:

Thank You L.A. and all my Latinos!

[crowd cheering]

The devastating fires

are leaving families without homes,

jobs, and necessities.

But an incredible wave of kindness

is bringing hope.

There are firefighters from Mexico

and Canada

on the ground to lend their support.

North Texans are answering

California's call for help.

As a wildfire disaster deepens,

the City of Angels living up to its name.

I'm a primary care physician, board

certified to see pediatrics and adults.

And so the idea was to open up a physical

space where people could walk in if they

needed a refill of a medication or they

wanted to be evaluated for respiratory

conditions that have worsened through the

fires or just had general health questions

about what they could do

to keep themselves

safe and healthy as the city clears,

as the smoke clears, and as we all kind

of rebuild our health and our communities.

I am so grateful to be of service

to so many people because our city just

really needs support right now and that's

the beautiful thing that's happening.

The people that are coming together

right now from every direction, um.

I'm going to cry

because it really affected me.

People, I know.

But there's a lot of people

that don't know anyone that was affected

and they care too.

And I think that's the most

important thing is that everyone's

coming together right now.

We don't need to be superheroes.

We don't need to save the world.

But a bunch of small acts

of kindness really add up.

We're going to be able to rebuild

and stay together as a community.

Seeing the people fight for everything

that we have built and banded together

to keep it going and not watch it burn.

That's why we're strong.

As long as we stay together,

I think we're going to be okay.

From the first moment I heard her

exquisite voice, I became a devotee.

Here she is with her brother,

Finneas LA's very own Billie Eilish

[crowd cheering]

What's going on?

Hi, guys.

Thanks for being here.

Thank you for having me.

I feel very lucky to be here.

This is my brother.

Turn me up.

We're going to do

some little acoustic songs.

So they'll be pretty quiet and chill.

So if you want to sit

or whatever, you can.

- Audience Member: No.

- No, okay. Ready?

["Wildflower" by Billie Eilish]

Things fall apart

And time breaks your heart

I wasn't there, but I know

She was your girl

You showed her the world

But fell out of love

and you both let go

She was cryin' on my shoulder

All I could do was hold her

Only made us closer until July

Now I know that you love me

You don't need to remind me I should

Put it all behind me, shouldn't I?

But I see her in the back of my mind

All the time

Like a fever

like I'm burning alive, like the sun

Hmm

Did I cross the line?

Well, good things don't last

And life moves so fast

I'd never ask who was better

'Cause she couldn't be

more different from me

Happy and free in leather

And I know that you love me

You don't need to remind me

Wanna put it all behind me

Baby, I see her

In the back of my mind

All the time

Feels like a fever, like I'm

Burning alive, like the sun

I cross the line

[vocalizing]

[vocalizing]

[vocalizing]

Remember

Do you see her

in the back of your mind

In my eyes?

[humming tune]

You say no one knows you so well

But every time you touch me

I just wonder how she felt

Valentine's day crying in the hotel

I know you didn't mean to hurt me

so I kept it to myself

[crowd cheering]

I love you.

Thank you for being so sweet.

[giggle]

I feel very honored

to be on this stage tonight.

[clearing throat]

[cheering]

["The Greatest" by Billie Eilish]

[high-pitched scream]

In trying my best

To keep you satisfied

And let you get your rest

While I stayed up all night

[high-pitched scream]

And you don't want to know

How alone I've been

Let you come and go

[sobbing]

Whatever state I'm in

[harmonizing]

Man am I the greatest

My congratulations

All my love and patience

All my admiration

All the times I waited

For you to want me naked

I made it all look painless

Man, am I the greatest

[harmonizing]

[humming tune]

Doing what's right

Without a reward

[speaking]

[singing]

[speaking]

And we don't have to fight

[singing]

When it's not worth fighting for

[humming tune]

And you don't wanna know

Just what I would've done

Anything at all

Worse than anyone

And man, am I the greatest

My congratulations

All my love and patience

All my admiration

And all the times I waited

For you to want me naked

I made it all look painless

Man, am I the greatest

Greatest

The greatest

[singing]

[humming tune]

[singing]

I, I loved you

And I still do

Just wanted passion from you

Just wanted what I gave you

And I waited

And waited

Man, am I the greatest

God, I hate it

All my love and patience

Unappreciated

You said your heart was jaded

You couldn't even break it

I shouldn't have to say it

You could've been the greatest

Thank you.

Um, well,

I just, I love you all so much.

And I,

It's really nice to be here tonight.

And just, it just feels all really,

like, hopeful and good in here.

And I just appreciate all of you.

And I just feel honored to be here.

And I, it's a really, really scary time.

And it's been so devastating.

And LA is, like, my favorite place

in the world and my only home.

And I've, uh, my brother and I, you know,

grew up here and live here.

And it's the greatest place in the world.

And I care about it so much.

And it's just been so, so, so,

so devastating what's going on.

Um, so, so, to everyone

who is experiencing this.

I love you. And I got you.

And we will not forget about you.

And we're gonna keep doing this for you.

Um, anyway.

Thank you for having us.

And this is the last one.

It's called Birds of a Feather.

["birds of a feather" by Billie Eilish]

[humming tune]

[singing]

I want you to stay

[crowd murmuring]

Until I'm in the grave

[audience member] I love you!

Until I rot away, dead and buried

Until I'm in the casket you carry

If you go, I'm going too

Cause it was always you

All right

And if I'm turning blue,

please don't save me

Nothing left to lose without my baby

Birds of a feather

We should stick together

I know

I said I'd never think

I wasn't better alone

Can't change the weather

Might not be forever

But if it's forever, it's even better

And I don't know what I'm crying for

I don't think I could love you more

Might not be long. But baby, I...

I love you till the day that I die

Until the day that I die

Till the light leaves my eyes

Until the day that I die

I want you to see

[speaking]

Just how you look to me

You wouldn't believe if I told you

You would keep

the compliments I throw you

But you're so full of sh*t

[singing]

Tell me it's a bit

No one would say you don't see it

Your mind's polluted

Say you wanna quit

Don't be stupid

And I don't know what I'm cryin' for

I don't think I could love you more

It might not be long, but baby,

I don't wanna say goodbye

Birds of a feather

We should stick together

I know I said I'd never

Think I wasn't better alone

Can't change the weather

Might not be forever

But if it's forever,

it's even better

And I...

I knew you in another life

You had that same look in your eyes

I love you

Don't act so surprised

[humming]

Thank you so much.

This is my brother, Finneas, by the way.

I love you, Los Angeles.

I will always fight for you.

I love you.

Thank you.

LA will be rebuilt.

For sure.

Right now,

we're responding to the emergency.

But then comes the reconstruction.

When we see people who have lost their

homes, lost their jobs, their business,

this is when we come together.

It's been a pouring of love.

Being able to see the city

come together and help each other.

You know they're not alone.

LA is strong

because it's a very resilient,

not just city, but also community.

This is a moment in time that we're going

to remember in our city's history.

All of the first and now second responders

coming and utilizing every skill that

they have with precision, with urgency,

in the name of love for Los Angeles.

People are here

because they want to be here.

Regardless of whether they were born

or raised here, LA is their home.

And we're really good about coming

together when people need help.

I feel like we cut from a different cloth.

Like Kendrick said, you know, Snoop said,

like, we all got our definitions

of the cloth, but like, it's cut from LA.

You always treat people

how you want to be treated.

We all need help sometimes.

And it's good to know that there

are people who will have your back.

I can tell you I'm grateful.

And that LA, there's love here.

When we're able to work shoulder to

shoulder, I don't think there's anything

that LA can't handle or do.

And we will rebuild in new beautiful ways

whenever things like this may happen.

Please give it up for one of the greatest

artists of all time, Stevie Wonder!

I thank you.

For allowing me to be a part of us giving.

In this world today,

we have no time for blaming.

We have no time for shaming.

We need to have prayer and come together

as a united people of the world.

[audience clapping]

It breaks my heart for those that have

lost, not only those who have lost their,

some who have lost their lives.

So we need to pray and thank God

for those who are alive and pray for those

who have lost that we will allow, with

our giving, to help them to get themselves

back on their feet again.

I love you and I thank God for giving

me the gift of song to sing to you.

I want to sing a song that I wrote.

It's still so relevant.

Love's in need of love today.

[audience clapping]

["Love's In Need of Love Today"

by Stevie Wonder]

Good morning or evening friends

Here's your friendly announcer

I have serious news

To pass on to everybody

What I'm about to sing

Could make the world disaster

Could change your joy and laughter

To tears and pain

It's that love's in need

Of love today

Don't delay

Send yours in right away

Hate's goin' round

Breaking many hearts

Stop it please,

stop it please

Before it's gone too far

Woah-a-woah-a-woah

Oh...

The force of evil plans

To make you its possession

And it will if we let it destroy

Everybody

We all must take

Precautionary measures

If love and peace you treasure

Then you'll hear me when I say...

Oh, that love's in need

Of love today

Don't delay

Send yours in right away

Hate's goin' round

Breaking many hearts

Stop it please

Before it's gone too far

People you know that

Love's in need of love today

[singing]

Don't delay

Send yours in right away

You know that hate's goin' round

Hate's goin' round

Hate's goin' round

and it's tryin' to break up...

Breakin' up many hearts

You got to, I've got to, we've got to,

they've go to, we've got to

Stop it before it's gone too far

And love, love's in need of love...

Did you ever think that the nation

would be in need of love today

Don't delay

Send yours in right away

Ooo...

Love...

Ooo...

Yeah

Woah

Dub-a-dub-a-dub-oh

Dub-a-dub-a-dub-oh

Just give the world love

[audience member] Go get 'em Stevie!

Let's hit it!

Everybody clap your hands. Let's get it.

Are y'all with me?

["Superstition" by Stevie Wonder]

Very superstitious

Writing's on the wall

Very superstitious

Ladders bout' to fall

13 months of maybes,

We'll sing that!

Broke the lookin' glass

Seven years of bad luck

Good things in your past

Come on, sing it.

[audience] When you believe in things

that you don't understand

[audience] Then you suffer

Hey

Superstition ain't the way

We got to come together y'all.

Very superstitious,

Wash your face and hands.

Wash your face and hands

Ha.

Rid me of the problem,

Do all that you can.

Do all that you can

Yeah!

Keep me in the daydream

[musical sounds]

Keep me goin' strong

You don't wanna save me

Sad is my song

Come on, come on.

When you believe in things

that you don't understand

Then you suffer

Superstition ain't the way

Ain't got no time for blame

Ain't got no time for negativity

Ain't got no time to blamin'

Yeah!

Come on!

Everybody

["Higher Ground" by Stevie Wonder]

People

Yeah!

Keep on learnin'

Soldiers

Keep on warrin'

World keep on turnin'

Cause it won't be too long

- Powers keep on lyin'

- [Sting] Power... Keep on lyin'

- All its leaders, keep on lyin'

- [Sting] Oh... keep on lyin'

- [Stevie] World, keep on...

- [Sting] World, keep on turnin'

Cause it won't be too long

DEI forever.

Hey!

I'm so darn glad

He let me try it again

'Cause my last time on earth,

I lived a whole world of sin

I'm so glad that I know more

than I knew then

Gonna keep on tryin'

Till I reach the highest ground

Are y'all with us?

Teachers keep on teachin'

Preachers keep on preachin'

World keep on turnin'

Cause it won't be too long

Hey, hey, hey

Lovers keep on lovin'

Keep on lovin'

...keep on lovin'

Believers keep on believin'

Sleepers just stop sleepin'

Cause it won't be too long

Oh yeah

I'm so glad that

he let me try it again

Cause my last time on earth

I lived a whole world of sin

I'm so glad that I know more

than I knew then

Gonna keep on tryin'

Till I reach my highest ground

Ow

Till I reach my highest ground

Oh, no

No one's gonna bring me down

Till I reach my highest ground

Don't you let nobody bring you down

Everybody.

Repeat after me.

- I'm going to go higher, higher

- [Sting] Higher

- [Stevie] Higher

- [Sting] Higher

- [Stevie] Higher

- [Sting] Higher

- [Stevie] Higher

- [Sting] Higher

- [Stevie] Higher

- [Sting] Higher

- [Stevie] Higher

- [Sting] Higher

Hey

[crowd cheers]

Yeah! I love you.

[continued cheering]

Holy sh*t.

Hi, I'm Olivia Rodrigo.

Have you had a good night?

How can you not have had a good night?

I mean, Stevie and Flea and Sting,

three guys with one

name apiece are here.

I mean, we needed a good night.

We had a lot of bad nights, but here we

are sharing love and music and probably

The Norovirus, but I think it's worth it.

This is what a magical show.

What an incredible night.

Thank you to all the artists

who volunteered their time

and talent to lift us up

Thanks to the Azov family

for making this happen.

Thanks to Steve Ballmer

for opening his dome to us

And thanks to those of you

watching around the world

This city,

for all the things they say about us,

when Hurricane Harvey hit,

we were there.

When Katrina devastated New Orleans,

we were there.

When Hurricane Maria

ravaged Puerto Rico, we were there.

The people in this city,

many of the people in this room,

Helped to raise more than $200 million

for other cities hit by natural disasters.

And now we are helping our own.

So many people I know.

So many of you, even some of the people

who were on stage tonight,

lost their homes, lost everything.

And when you did, we wrapped our arms

around each other immediately,

all across Los Angeles, from

Malibu to the Pacific

Palisades to Altadena

Warehouses are filled with more

donations than most of the centers

could even handle.

To this day, in a lot of places,

they have too many volunteers.

They have to turn them away.

This is a tragedy

that hurt everyone who lives here,

and it will continue to hurt

for many years.

But it's also brought us

much closer together.

And I am very grateful,

especially for our firefighters.

If you're here, please raise your hands

and show yourselves.

Thanks to our firefighters from here

in LA, from all over the country,

from Canada and Mexico

and our friends around the world.

Thanks to the rescue workers,

the first responders.

Raise your hands to the prisoners

who risked their lives for $10 a day.

Thanks to the volunteers and the chefs

and the teachers and artists

and store owners and charities

who've been doing everything they can.

I also want to thank you for being here

tonight and for being there tomorrow, too.

This isn't over. We need you.

We need your help.

Please make a donation to FireAidLA.org.

100% of the money goes to short term

relief and long term efforts to rebuild.

Thank you.

And now to close out this beautiful night,

to heal us with her spirit and her talent,

Please give a big, warm, sloppy L.A

welcome to Lady Gaga.

[crowd cheering]

I love you so much.

I love you so much.

Thank you so much for having me tonight.

All right, let's do this.

["Shallow" by Lady Gaga]

Tell me something, girl

[cheering]

Are you happy in this modern world?

Or do you need more?

Is there something else

you're searching for?

I'm falling

In all the good times,

I find myself

Longing for change

And in the bad times,

I fear myself

Tell me something, boy

Aren't you tired

tryin' to fill that void

Oh, do you need more?

Ain't it hard? Keepin' it so hardcore

I'm falling

In all the good times, I find myself

Longing for change

And in the bad times, I fear myself

I'm off the deep end

Watch as I dive in

I'll never meet the ground

Crash through the surface

where they can't hurt us

We're far from the shallow now

In the shallow, shallow

In the shallow, shallow

In the shallow, shallow

We're far from the shallow now

Oh, oh,

Oh, oh, oh

Oh, oh, oh

I'm off the deep end

Watch as I dive in

I'll never meet the ground

Crash through the surface

Where they can't hurt us

We're far from the shallow now

In the shallow, shallow

In the shallow, shallow

In the shallow, shallow

We're far from the shallow now

[crowd cheering]

Thank you.

Thank you. I love you.

This has been a horrible, scary time.

But during these times,

I feel like people come together

and we see how much we need each other.

And I want to always remember us

just like this.

["Always Remember Us This Way"

by Lady Gaga]

That California sky

Burning in your eyes

You look at me

and know this fear in my desire

It's buried in my soul

Like California gold

You found the light in me

that I couldn't find

So when I'm all choked up

and I can't find the words

Every time we say goodbye,

baby, it hurts

When the sun goes down

And the band won't play

I'll always remember us this way

Come on.

Lovers in the night

Poets tryin' to write

We don't know how to rhyme

but damn we try

But all I really know is

You're where I want to go

The part of me that you will never die

So when I'm all choked up

and I can't find the words

Every time we say goodbye,

baby, it hurts

When the sun goes down

And the band won't play

I'll always remember us this way

I don't wanna be just a memory,

baby yeah

So when I'm all choked up

and I can't find the words

Every time we say goodbye,

baby it hurts

When the sun goes down

And the band won't play

I'll always remember us this way

Way

When you look at me

And the whole world fades

I'll always remember us

This way

[humming tune]

Alright.

When I was thinking about

what to sing tonight, I thought I wanted

to do something hopeful for you

And I was thinking about my songs

and there wasn't anything

that seemed quite right.

So me and my friend Michael,

my fiance, my love,

we wrote this song for you.

It's just for tonight. It's just for you.

I think we all need

a lot of things right now.

But I think something

we may also need is time.

Time is a healer.

Come on, listen to the words I say

I love you, baby, babe

I love you, baby, babe

You've been putting up

with hard hard days

Don't worry, baby, babe

Don't worry, baby, babe

Wish god could find a different way

to remind me what's it like to pray

Wish that I could

turn the storm around

If I can, I'll find a different way

All I need is time

All I need is time

All I need is time

To heal my broken wings

and then I'll soar

All I need is time

To leave it all behind

All I need is time

to leave it all behind

I keep moving forward

All the hurt is keeping you too tough

I know it, baby, babe

I know it, baby, babe

You're so empty you fill your cup

Don't worry, baby, babe

Don't worry, baby, babe

Wish that God

could find a different way

To remind me what it's like to pray

Wish that I could

turn the storm around

If I can, I'll find a different way

All I need is time

All I need is time

All I need is time to heal my broken

wings and then I'll soar

I love you, California.

All I need is time

To leave it all behind

All I need is time

To leave it all behind

Keep moving forward

Wish that God

could find a different way

To remind me what it's like to pray

Wish that I could

turn the storm around

If I can, I'll find a different way

All I need is time

All I need is time

All I need is time

to heal my broken wings

And then I'll soar

All I need is time

And then I'll leave it all behind

All I need is time

to leave it all behind

And keep moving forward

All I need is time

All I need is time

All I need is time

to heal my broken wings

And then I'll soar

All I need is time

To leave it all behind

All I need is time

to leave it all behind

We'll keep moving forward

[audience clapping]

I love you so much!

Get home safely I love you.

[humming tune]

[musical sounds]
