Hey, everybody, and welcome
to BattleBots Fight Night,

where robots of all
shapes and sizes

try to reduce each other
to scrap metal.

I'm Chris Rose,
and joining me is a man

you definitely do not
want to scrap with,

UFC legend Kenny Florian.

Chris, I can barely contain
how excited I am

for tonight's fight card.

We have a minefield
of expl*sive robots

on deck for you tonight,
starting with our main event:

It's Bronco versus Sawblaze.

Both of these 3-0 teams

are virtual locks to make
our post-season tournament,

and a win here
would almost surely

launch one them towards
a top 5 ranking.

It doesn't get much
better than that.

This battle is a true
clash of styles

with Sawblaze's speed
and control

looking to be
a compelling contrast

to Bronco's brute strength
and power.

It has the potential to be this
season's best fight to date.

CHRIS:
And take a look at the rest
of this monster fight card.

We have fan favorites
from the U.K.,

Warhead facing off
against Warrior Dragon.

After giving us
two amazing spectacles

with their fire-breathing T-Rex,

word around the pits is
they're bringing in

their infamous spinning head
for this one.

If so, look out.

We've also go two bots
on the bubble,

Petunia and Yeti,
taking each other on

in a fight to cement
their place in the top 16.

At this point
they're both 2-1.

Neither wants to make
the long trek home empty-handed.

But let's kick things off
with our first fight,

and what a way to start.

Ray Billings and
the undefeated Tombstone

takes on Hal Rucker and DUCK!

And, Kenny, this one has
a main-event atmosphere to it.

KENNY:
The reigning champ
needs no introduction,

Tombstone has done nothing
but lay waste

to every opponent
he's come across this year.

But with such a talented field,

Ray has stiff competition
for the number one ranking.

He needs a win here
to stay ahead of the pack.

CHRIS:
But standing in the way

of the most destructive team
in history

is one of the most durable bots
we've ever seen.

DUCK! has been seemingly
impervious to damage this year,

and its designer,
Hal Rucker, tells us

he built DUCK! specifically
to break Tombstone's weapon

and de-throne the champ.

Can DUCK! deliver,
or is Hal Rucker just a quack?

Faruq, get on in here, my man,
the world is yours.

Ladies and gentlemen,
are you ready?

It's robot-fighting time!

[CROWD CHEERING]

In the red square,
fee-fi-fo-fum,

face this bot
and you'll be done.

Bringing the pain,
it's the giant of the game,

you know his name,
it's Tombstone!

[CROWD CHEERING]

CHRIS:
Tombstone has
five different blades, Kenny.

Which one is Ray
going with tonight?

KENNY:
He's using his shortest
and most reliable blade here.

Ray knows DUCK! is gonna
put a ton of stress

on his machine,
and this selection

should allow for more control
during big exchanges.

FARUQ:
In the blue square,

it'll leave you crying fowl
and stick you with the bill.

Release the quack-in,
it's DUCK!

CHRIS:
Hal Rucker,
the engineer for DUCK!,

fancies himself
the Tombstone k*ller.

KENNY:
DUCK! will be inviting
direct contact

on his AR 400 steel wedge
in the hopes

that he can do what almost
no one has done before

and break that devastating
spinner of Tombstone.

We're actually more
concerned about our wheels.

If he touches our wheels,
they explode, they're gone.

We'll try and keep
our plow facing him,

and that's how we'll
protect our wheels.

The sides of that plow
up front are designed

to deflect me upwards,
which I don't want.

I'm expecting it
to go three minutes.

We're ready to go,
I hope to knock him out,

I'm always ready
to knock everybody out.

[CROWD CHEERING]

ROBOTIC VOICE:
Robots, activate.

CHRIS:
Kenny, dating back to 2016,

we've seen Tombstone fight
nine times.

He's won eight by knockout.

KENNY:
Yeah, but don't count out
DUCK! here tonight.

It took Bronco launching him
out of the arena

to stop this bot.

As long as DUCK! is mobile,

he has a chance at victory.

ROBOTIC VOICE:
Red Team, ready.

[CROWD CHEERING]

Blue Team, ready.

[CROWD CHEERING]

[ELECTRONIC BEEPING]

CROWD [CHANTING]:
Fight, fight, fight, fight...

[BUZZER BUZZING]

CHRIS:
Let the bot battle begin!

Oh, that weapon of
Tombstone fired up, oh!

Tombstone rips
a piece of DUCK! off,

and DUCK! drives him
right into the screws.

KENNY:
Yeah, he's trying to get
Tombstone to destroy itself.

Oh!
CHRIS: Kind of like that?

KENNY:
This is what DUCK!
was designed to do.

Whoo! Oh!
CHRIS: Whoa!

DUCK! trying to prevent
that spinner

from reaching full speed,
but that could be

a suicide mission
against Tombstone.

[KENNY & CHRIS EXCLAIM]

KENNY:
Hal Rucker determined

to break Tombstone's blade.

CHRIS:
He is willing and able
to do that,

but now DUCK! shows
Tombstone his wheels.

Squares back up,
look at that, though.

We've got bits and pieces
flying all over.

It looks like that blade
is a little c*ck

on Tombstone right now.

KENNY:
And DUCK! looking
a little out of control.

CHRIS: Uh-oh!
KENNY: Oh!

CHRIS:
Whoa, there goes a wheel.

DUCK! stunned by that shot.

KENNY:
He's a sitting duck
right now,

he's not really moving, uh-oh.

CHRIS:
I'm scared, Kenny! Hold me!

KENNY:
Ray trying to chop up
those tires.

CHRIS:
He's going for another one.

KENNY:
This is a nasty fight.

CHRIS:
Oh, yeah, DUCK! is just
kind of wobbling along,

and it's not 'cause
it's got webbed tires.

KENNY:
Yeah, Tombstone's
staying aggressive,

but it looks far from 100%
right now, Chris.

CHRIS:
Not after this many shots.

Tombstone looks like
a knockout puncher

that's been forced deep
into a fight.

KENNY:
Ray's blade is bent,
so he can't quite

get the hit that he wants.

CHRIS:
DUCK! still kind of moving

and shaking a little bit.

Oh! DUCK! throws himself into
Tombstone

and loses another tire!

KENNY:
Chris, Tombstone is not moving.

He looks stuck
and could be in trouble here.

CHRIS:
DUCK! is going in circles.

Oh, but it's still moving.

Oh, no. No.

CHRIS:
Is the reigning champ gonna take

his first loss of the season?

Can you move?
You've gotta show me

some kind of movement, Ray.

CHRIS:
Tombstone still frozen,
DUCK! circling.

Will the big DUCK!
be counted out?

[CROWD CHEERING]

KENNY: Oh, look at this!
CHRIS: Tombstone's back!

Ray Billings back from the dead!

The champ avoids a countdown.
Hal Rucker can't believe it.

KENNY:
Do not ever
count this man out.

Tombstone will find a way.

CHRIS:
DUCK! just took a shot
from the k*ll saw.

He's frozen stiff.

KENNY:
DUCK! doesn't have any tires
on that left side.

CHRIS:
It's down to just
one of four tires.

Can it make it
another 40 seconds?

KENNY:
DUCK! had this match won, Chris.

How quickly things can change,

and he's gonna get
counted out here.

CHRIS:
Here goes the countdown on DUCK!

...eight, seven, six...

CHRIS:
DUCK! barely breathing.

...four, three...
CHRIS: Can anything help

that little sucker?
...two, one, that's a knockout!

[BUZZER SOUNDS]

CHRIS:
Chalk up another K.O.
for the king.

Tombstone remains unbeaten.

[♪♪♪]

CHRIS:
Kenny, the champ barely escaped
this one with a win.

DUCK! came O so close
to doing what

no other bot
has been able to do.

KENNY:
Yeah, other teams take note:

DUCK! went straight at
Tombstone

and tried to break its spinner
and almost earned the upset.

CHRIS:
After a series
of violent collisions,

Tombstone looked to be
dead in the water,

but moments before a
countdown could begin,

Tombstone sprung back to life.

DUCK! was already
on its last legs,

and the baddest bot
in the world

gets its fourth win
and remains undefeated.

[CROWD CHEERING]

So you think that Tombstone
has a pretty firm grip

on that number one ranking.

And if you're
Hal Rucker and DUCK!,

your plea to
the selection committee is:

"Okay, we're 500, we're 2-2.

Our two losses are against
what might be

the top two seeds,
Tombstone and Bronco."

All right, coming up,
Petunia and Yeti face off

in a showdown with
tournament implications.

And strap yourself in

We've got a saw,
we've got sparks,

we've got a flipper

that tosses 250-pound
robots around like rag dolls.

It's Sawblaze, it's Bronco,

Petunia and Yeti are mere
moments away from fighting.

These teams are sitting
right on the cut line

of making the 2018 world
championship tournament.

With matching 2-1 records,
this is a must-win for both.

A lot on the line tonight,
let's take ya inside the box.

[CROWD CHEERING]

In the red square,

this bot is crazy as a daisy

but definitely not lazy.

It's faster than most
and will turn you into compost.

Get ready to get
greenhouse-gassed by Petunia!

CHRIS:
Mischa de Graaf has had
an impressive run

with that crusher,

but their last fight
against Monsoon

left them up in smoke.

He's coming off a big rebuild.

KENNY:
That was a brutal fight,

and he's facing
another monster weapon on Yeti.

Petunia's wedge is armored,
but he needs to stay

squared up
to avoid major damage.

In the blue square, this
Alaskan bot has some polar flare

with a drum that'll send you
flying through the air.

Juneau this is gonna be good.

Y'all ain't ready.
It's Yeti!

CHRIS:
Yeti the Alaskan assassin.

Greg Gibson ditched
the front wedge

and is going back to his
all-offense configuration.

KENNY:
That's right.

He has his heaviest
drum spinner on,

weighing in at 51 pounds.

I like that move.
If he's going down,

he's going down Yeti style,
no holding back.

The trade-off with Yeti is
it's all offense and no defense.

If they get one bite on me
almost anywhere,

I'm probably done.
So my defense is my offense.

I have to keep my front end
towards them

and never let them get
to the sides or the rear.

If I lose, it's probably the
end of this tournament for me,

so I need to win
and show well.

We put some extra teeth
Ton the bottom

because they have
very high ground clearance,

so we have an easier grip
on them.

And if you don't
penetrate the top plate,

you probably penetrate
the bottom plate.

Yeti is one of the favorites,

so this is
a really serious match.

[CROWD CHEERING]

ROBOTIC VOICE:
Robots, activate.

CHRIS:
All right, two very different
bots and styles.

What should we look
for here, Kenny?

KENNY:
Well, we all know
what Yeti wants to do.

For Petunia,
they'll need to drive smart

and use the box
to their advantage

in order to get that crusher
involved.

Let's see how that shakes out.

[ELECTRONIC BEEPING]

CROWD [CHANTING]:
Fight, fight, fight, fight...

[BUZZER BUZZING]

CHRIS:
Let the bot battle begin!

And Petunia
fast out of the gate,

trying to win
the battle of positioning.

Going right at Yeti,
and it tipped over early on.

Of course,
Petunia can't self-right.

KENNY:
Petunia very aggressive early,

and this is right where
Petunia wants Yeti,

in the corner
where it can use the box

for leverage
and drop that crusher.

CHRIS:
But Yeti driving it back--
Oh! Oh!

KENNY:
Nice hit there by Yeti.

CHRIS: Aah!
KENNY: That drum on Yeti

has started to chip away
at the beak of Petunia.

CHRIS:
Petunia rolling around
this place

like it's pothole-filled
New York City.

Just slammed himself into
those screws right there.

Whoa, Yeti using those forks
in front, now retracts them.

Uh-oh!
KENNY: Big impact there.

And, yeah, that tip of Petunia's
pinching weapon

has been completely blunted
by Yeti's drum,

and now Greg Gibson
has free reign to smash.

CHRIS:
Definitely getting
some nice sparks and knockdowns.

KENNY: Oh!
CHRIS: Look at this!

He's got Petunia on its head.

Yeti on the attack,

pushing a helpless Petunia
into the screws.

Aha, Yeti with
an incredible sequence there.

KENNY:
Greg Gibson really is fighting

a perfect fight here, Chris.

CHRIS: Oh!
KENNY: Huge hit there!

CHRIS:
Yeah, yeah, there you go.

KENNY:
My goodness.

CHRIS:
This is smashmouth, Kenny.

This is the Yeti-est fight ever!

[KENNY LAUGHS]

CHRIS:
Oh!

KENNY:
This one has been a blast
for everybody

except Mischa de Graaf
and Petunia.

[SPEAKS INDISTINCTLY]

[CHRIS & KENNY EXCLAIM]t

KENNY:
And you've got to wonder
how much Petunia has left.

[CHRIS EXCLAIMS]

KENNY:
And look at the damage

on the front of the wedge
now of Petunia.

Yeti is doing
exactly what he said

he wanted to do,
dissect that bot.

That bot isn't moving.

CHRIS: Uh-oh.
Guys, you've got to show me

you've got
some kind of movement.

Ten, nine...
CHRIS: Countdown has started.

...seven, six...
CHRIS: Petunia back

in the same square
they started from,

but a lot worse for wear.

And Yeti will get the W.
...one, that's a knockout!

[BUZZER SOUNDS]

CHRIS:
A knockout, and Greg Gibson

and Yeti can smell the top 16.

Meanwhile, Petunia playing
the what-if game.

[CROWD CHEERING]

Excellent driving,
just want you wanted to do.

Yeah, I started off trying
to be a little too strategic,

so it was a lot easier
when I just started smashing.

Essentially you
had Yeti on a leash.

That was the plan, tried to
use the forks a little more,

worked a little bit,
and as soon as it didn't,

I just kind of gave up and said,
"Let's smash." It's more fun.

Well, you guys played it
really smart.

I mean, you're pretty much
demanding a spot in the top 16.

I'm hoping. I think
we've earned it at this point,

so we'll see where we end up.

Yeti has a top 16 spot
locked up.

crack the top tier is Monsoon.

in our main event.

Let's take a closer look.

Tonight,
two of the competition's

most distinctive designs,

both undefeated, will collide.

This crowd is up on its feet!

In its second season...

...Sawblaze has risen
to the top of the class.

Jamison Go with Sawblaze
is a bad, bad man!

JAMISON:
We fight all these big names,

and when you beat them,
it's an incredible feeling.

KENNY:
He's got a big future, this kid.

CHRIS:
But now it's the biggest test
of his career

as he faces a 20-year
veteran of the sport,

the legendary flipper, Bronco.

I don't think we're here
to prove anything other than

we want to win fights.
[CHRIS & KENNY EXCLAIM]

And seriously kick some...

CHRIS:
Can Sawblaze stand up

to the bully of the BattleBox?

Or will Bronco toss
another challenger aside?

Bronco can smell blood!

In a clash of styles, only
one will emerge undefeated.

Things are about
to get stormy in the box

when Monsoon takes on
Axe Backwards.

Monsoon, led by
Tom Brewster from the U.K.,

came out of the gate
looking like a true contender

in its rookie season.

They delivered monster knockouts
in their first two matches.

But after a vicious beatdown
at the hands of Son of Whyachi,

this fourth and final fight
takes on added significance.

They'll be facing Kurt Durjan

and the full-body drum spinner
Axe Backwards tonight

in what is a pretty nice
matchup for him.

KENNY:
Yeah, Axe Backwards
already has a loss

to a vertical spinner
this season

and while we have seen
that huge drum deliver

a few solid shots,
its design leaves it

extremely vulnerable
and easy to attack.

If Monsoon can't find a way
to get a win here,

it would be
a huge disappointment

and perhaps keep them
from making the tournament.

This is judgment day
for Monsoon.

Let's head inside the box.

[CROWD CHEERING]

FARUQ:
In the red square,
it's a British invasion.

I am the walrus,
I am the egg man,

and this is the robot Monsoon!

[CROWD CHEERING]

CHRIS:
Looks like Monsoon's going

with a slightly
different weapon tonight.

KENNY:
Yeah, they're sporting a new
vertical bar called brawler.

Tom told me though
it's slightly less powerful,

it should be more reliable
than their previous weapon.

In the blue square,
if it were a lumberjack,

it would be called Maul Bunion.

Laying down chops like a mighty
blue ox, it's Axe Backwards.

[CROWD CHEERING]

CHRIS:
For Axe Backward
and Kurt Durjan,

his motto tonight:
"k*ll or be k*lled."

KENNY:
It's pretty simple.

He needs to basically
go out there

and just go primary weapon
to primary weapon with Monsoon.

And if he's gonna die,
make it fantastic.

We changed the motors out on
our weapons. They're brand-new.

We also doubled
our battery capacity

so we can last more than
three minutes if we need to.

That blade is pretty scary,.

It's got a lot longer reach
than our drum,

but he's got a lot of tasty bits
to hit on the sides

and back,
so we're gonna aim for those.

This is the final qualifying
fight we've got,

so we're going all in,
all g*ns blazing with this one.

We've taken off the old bar,
we've put on the new bar.

It's significantly heavier.

We figured that if we're
gonna go into the top 16,

we need to win with style,
so we're gonna go for it.

We're really going for it.

[CROWD CHEERING]

ROBOTIC VOICE:
Robots, activate.

CHRIS:
All right, two vertical spinners

with drastically
different designs.

Who's gonna spin their way
to a win here?

[ELECTRONIC BEEPING]

CROWD [CHANTING]:
Fight, fight, fight, fight...

[BUZZER BUZZING]

CHRIS:
Let the bot battle begin!

Monsoon, that tip speed
over 240 miles an hour!

He upends Axe Backwards,

gets him up on the screws
already in the first 10 seconds.

And it's smoking too.

That bot is smoking.

Axe Backwards has got
some issues.

Oh, boy,
the drum spinner's fine.

I'm not so sure
about the driving.

KENNY:
They gotta stop this fight.

Starting at 10...
I got no movement.

CHRIS:
The countdown is on.

...seven...
In the weapon, in the weapon.

CHRIS:
Kurt Durjan begging his opponent
to hit him,

but, no, Thomas Brewster's
just gonna take the K.O.

That's a knockout!
[BUZZER SOUNDS]

Yeah, good job.

CHRIS:
Impressive performance
from Monsoon

as they get another notch
in the win column.

All right. Whoo!

CHRIS:
Kenny, it was really one big hit

that pretty much finished
this match, right?

KENNY:
Yeah, he attacked
the wheels and tires,

did a lot of damage.

I mean, that is one
powerful vertical bar spinner,

my goodness.

CHRIS:
Kurt Durjan actually said,

"I still had control of my
weapon when I was counted out.

I just lost
all driving capabilities."

KENNY [CHUCKLES]:
Yeah, I think that bot
has a lot of potential,

but it came up short
in this one.

[CROWD CHEERING]

CHRIS:
Tom Brewster and Monsoon
can breathe a sigh of relief

as they improve their record
to a strong 3-1.

Yeah absolutely, it looks like
he'll make it in the top 16.

And, again,
for this 23-year-old

coming into his first
BattleBots competition,[/i]

that is amazing,
very dangerous weapon.

CHRIS:
All right, so up next,
the British are coming.

Warhead is in the house,
set to take on Warrior Dragon.

And get ready for our main
event: Sawblaze, Bronco.

But first, Warrior Dragon
fights for a chance

at playoff glory against
the undefeated Warhead.

No knockouts, but having
a different look tonight.

KENNY:
Yeah, Team Warhead is putting
that T-Rex back in its cage

and attaching their infamous
spinning disc head.

This thing has given us
a bunch of great shows

over the years,
but the last time we saw it,

Minotaur ripped it clean off

and almost threw it
up into the lights.

They're gonna need that disc
to be effective in this one

as they're looking to improve
to 3-0

and strengthen their case
for making the top 16.

CHRIS:
In the other square we have
Clint Ewert and Warrior Dragon.

Obviously a team with
a lot of experience,

but at 1-1 and their only win

coming against
a struggling Chomp,

they still have
some work to do.

KENNY:
Yeah, there's no doubt
they need this fight

if they want to make
the tournament.

They did have a great strategy
against Chomp,

using their driving skills to
control the pace of that fight.

They have to be equally
creative here against Warhead:

Attack from the sides
and avoid direct shots

from that spinning steel head.

Can't wait to see how it goes.

In the red square,

with flames that sh**t
and an attitude to boot,

it'll leave you dead.

It's Warhead!
[CROWD CHEERING]

CHRIS:
Kenny, tell us about that
infamous spinning disc head.

KENNY:
That thing weighs 50 pounds,
and Ian and Simon told me

they have the power turned up
this year.

They want to use that disc
to grind down on Warrior Dragon.

In the blue square,
this bot will cook you

like a rotisserie chicken.

Get ready to take a lickin'

from the fire-spittin'
Warrior Dragon!

[CROWD CHEERING]

CHRIS:
There's Warrior Dragon.

And remember,
Clint Ewert's brother Luke

pilots Son of Whyachi,

who's currently sitting
at 2-1.

Warrior Dragon
needs a win here

to pull even
with his younger bro.

[♪♪♪]

How important is
this match for you

to get that top 16 spot?

Oh it's huge.
We're 1-1 right now,

and the way I see it, I need
to win my next two matches.

Otherwise I'm out. I might
as well just pack my bags

and go home if I lose this.

Driving strategy is simple when
you're going against a spinner.

It's get 'em up against
the wall, jam 'em up,

and then try to control
the match from there.

If you can control their
spinner, you can control them.

It's gonna be
a technical fight.

They're very low, which means
we may have to run our weapon

slightly lower, but
the lower we run our weapon,

the more unstable we become
with the gyroscopic.

So there's a trade-off.

We want it to be a spectacle.

We don't really want the
fight to be over quickly.

We wouldn't want a knockout
in one or two hits.

That's not our style.

But it's nice if we can
have a good bit of argy-bargy.

[CROWD CHEERING]

ROBOTIC VOICE:
Robots, activate.

[CROWD CHEERING]

CHRIS:
Looks like Warrior Dragon's
brought

their mini-bot, Meddler,
to the party.

KENNY:
Yeah, they want to use Meddler

to high center Warhead
and free up Warrior Dragon

to score some damage points.

[ELECTRONIC BEEPING]

CROWD [CHANTING]:
Fight, fight, fight, fight...

[BUZZER BUZZING]

CHRIS:
Let the bot battle begin!

Meddler trying to find
its way into Warhead and--

Oh, a huge hit
right off the bat.

Uh-oh, Warhead's spinning
is a little out of control.

Remember, we haven't seen this
modification on the bot in 2018.

Holy smokes! Whoa!
KENNY: Oh!

Oh, look at this!

CHRIS:
A huge piece of armor is
off the head of Warhead.

KENNY:
Yeah, Warhead
completely out of control.

They just destroyed themselves.

That spinning disc rammed
into the side of the BattleBox.

CHRIS:
But it is still at least
putting on a show with fire.

It's still mobile
at this point,

although it's looking
a little crazed, Kenny.

KENNY:
Yeah, and it's having trouble
on the right side

getting the flame going.

You see it just kind
of spewing out fuel,

not to mention the balance
issues it's now facing.

Not good for Warhead.

CHRIS:
In the meantime, Warrior Dragon
pretty much content

to let just let Warhead die

a slow, painful death
unto itself,

as Warhead flops around
like a wounded seagull.

KENNY:
Warrior Dragon trying
to get underneath,

and flip Warhead.
Not able to do it.

It's their horizontal spinner
that powers their flipper.

CHRIS:
Whoa, another shot.

Dude, Warhead looks like
that crazy drunk

out in the alley like,
"Come on, let's fight."

He's ready to brawl.
[KENNY LAUGHS]

KENNY:
He's making it exciting.

He's just not so effective
right now.

CHRIS:
Well, when you've lost
a third of your head,

how effective are you gonna be?

KENNY [LAUGHS]:
I don't know,

but I do know a few guys
who do okay.

CHRIS:
He's still trying
to do some serious damage

I mean, this is bizarre.

Warrior Dragon's trying
to get Warhead into the screws,

but that didn't work.
KENNY: Again, Chris,

if they are struggling
with their horizontal spinner,

they cannot power
their flipper.

So they've been struggling
bigtime as well here, Chris.

CHRIS:
So with less than
a minute to go,

we've got a lopsided
Warhead in one corner

and a lame Dragon in the other.

It's like a support group
for injured bots.

Oh, there goes Warrior Dragon.

KENNY:
Warrior Dragon pretty much
operating

as a wedge bot,

and we got Warhead operating
as kind of a spaz.

[BOTH LAUGH]

Oh, there's a quality shot
by Warhead.

CHRIS:
Warrior Dragon attempts
to take Warhead for a drive.

Ooh, nasty little kiss
from the k*ll saws there.

Thirty seconds to go. Oh!

Seriously, he's like
the kid in college

that drank booze
for the first time.

KENNY:
Chris, did you teach Warhead
how to fight?

What is going on?

CHRIS:
Both bots eager
to score some points

in the final stretch.

Fifteen seconds to go
for one of these two bots

to make an impression
on the judges.

KENNY:
Warhead not doing karate,
he's doing "ca-razy."

CHRIS:
And as the clock ticks
towards zero,

it looks like Warrior Dragon
is out of commission.

But here comes the bell.

[BUZZER SOUNDS]
[CROWD CHEERING]

CHRIS:
Shockingly, Warhead
actually made it

through the three minutes,
and I have no flippin' idea how.

We'll leave it to the judges
to sort this one out.

And there they are, Naomi Kyle,
Derek Young and Lisa Winter.

Kenny, how are they
gonna evaluate this one?

KENNY:
Well, Warhead breaking
their own spinner early on

changed the dynamics
of this match.

With only half a head,

they weren't able to hit
as hard as they liked.

But they remained aggressive
and got some shots in.

Meanwhile, Warrior Dragon's
primary weapon

was largely ineffective,
essentially becoming a wedge bot

once their horizontal spinner
went down.

At that point,
all they could hope to do

was control the match.

But in my opinion,
the most effective weapon

were the flames of Warhead,

keeping Warrior Dragon
at bay for the entire fight.

CHRIS:
Let's see how this one pans out.

CHRIS:

the head of Warhead.

FARUQ:

The fight started
with a bit of a tussle.

I think we got a hit
on them...ish, early on.

A bit of super glue.

It kept delivering hits.
It acted a bit like a hammer.

CHRIS:
Whoa, another shot!

It's three wins, isn't it?
Yeah.

Not bad.
We're undefeated at the moment.

Don't look at--

CHRIS:
Right now we're got Tantrum

and Mecha Rampage
about to do battle.

Kenny, it's been a tough season
so far for veteran builder

Christian Carlberg
and Mecha Rampage.

They're 1-2,
and this bot has a lot to prove.

KENNY:
Yeah, its only win came against

the one-dimensional
projectile bot Double Jeopardy.

Christian Carlberg has
put a ton of thought

into his horizontal
spinning design.

He'd really like to finish
his season with a win here.

CHRIS:
He takes on one of the newbies
of BattleBots,

Aaron Hill and
the flipper Tantrum.

Tantrum is undefeated so far,
but his one and only win

came against a cheeseburger.

He's gonna have to step
up his game tonight

to get a quality victory
in this one.

Let's see if he can go 2-0.

This one's gonna be
a whole lot of fun.

KENNY:

and in regards to those,

Aaron's pretty funny. He said,

"You know what, if Mecha Rampage
can hit one of those fists

off my bot, he can keep it."

[CHRIS CHUCKLES]

FARUQ:
In the blue square,

if this bot were
a game-show host,

it would
be called Alex Tre-mech.

The answer is, "This robot
will leave you a wreck."

The question is,
"Who is Mecha Rampage?"

[CROWD CHEERING]

KENNY:
For Mecha Rampage, you know,

Christian's gonna keep to his
very aggressive driving style.

He says, "You know what,
I'm gonna hit him hard

till one of us fails."

[ELECTRONIC BEEPING]

CROWD [CHANTING]:
Fight, fight, fight, fight...

[BUZZER BUZZING]

CHRIS:
Let the bot battle begin!

Mecha Rampage
firing up that spinner.

Getting it up to full speed. Oh!

Pieces already inside
the BattleBox.

Let's see what happened
to Mecha Rampage. Not much.

KENNY:
That came off of Tantrum.
It was just those front eyes.

[KENNY & CHRIS EXCLAIM]

CHRIS:
So you're saying it was
just a cosmetic issue?

KENNY: That's right.
CHRIS: Mecha Rampage cranking up

that spinner again.

Taking another--
One of the fists.

He gets to keep it,
he gets to keep it.

CHRIS:
Oh, my gosh, you better keep
that thing away from the screws

or it's gonna get
its fingers chopped off.

Kenny, do you
understand the strategy

of Tantrum at this point?

KENNY:
I don't think Tantrum
can move the way he wants.

And that might have
been the knockout blow

from Mecha Rampage.
CHRIS: Oh, man!

Yup, I've lost my weapon.
Ten, nine...

CHRIS:
Oh, yeah, Tantrum's already
getting counted out.

KENNY: Wow!
...seven, six,

five, four, three, two, one,
knockout.

[BUZZER SOUNDS]
You win by knockout, sir.

Whoo!
CHRIS: Impressive performance!

In under a minute,
a knockout by Mecha Rampage.

Did we just win?
We won it.

CHRIS:
Kenny, the old guard still
has a few tricks out there.

KENNY:
Mecha Rampage,
"Let's hit each other

and see which one fails."

Well, the plan worked out,

and he got that fist of Tantrum,
unbelievable.

CHRIS:
Holy smokes, that's quite
a prize to put on the mantel.

"Hey, uh, Christian,
where'd you get that fist?"

"Heh, just inside the BattleBox,
nothing special."

[CROWD CHEERING]

So congratulations to the
veteran Christian Carlberg

and Mecha Rampage.

They improve their record
to an even 2-2.

And it's time right now
for our main event,

and that of course will
feature Bronco and Sawblaze.

Each 3-0,
each with a pair of knockouts.

They must be feeling confident
that they'll make the top 16.

Now it's all about positioning,

and Bronco seems
destined perhaps

to fight for that giant nut
somewhere down the line.

They've been that good.

KENNY:
Yeah, I don't know
what can stop these guys.

They've already tossed
two opponents

out of the arena this year,

sending a clear message that
they are taking no prisoners.

CHRIS:
Standing in their way
is Jamison Go and Sawblaze,

who's been on fire
the entire season.

He's been dominant
against a grappler,

a spinner and a crusher.

Kenny, does he have
what it takes

to add a legendary flipper
to his hit list?

KENNY:
The answer is yes.

Jamison Go is that good.

He's used precise driving

and that dust-pan design
to control his fights

and score points across
all categories this year,

but he'll need to channel
that aggressiveness

and drive smart in this one,
because as we've seen,

it only takes one shot
from Bronco to end your night.

Let's check out the chaos.

Absolutely.
Team Bronco are definitely

one of the favorites
to win the giant nut in 2018.

CHRIS:
Sawblaze has knockouts
of Overhaul and Mohawk

and won a decision over Reality.

And tonight, the chance
to show they truly belong.

KENNY:
Yeah, that's right.
They've been undefeated.

They've been waiting for this
for a very long time.

They believe they have
a championship bot,

and its name is Sawblaze.

[♪♪♪]

In the red square,

they're the masters
of the flipping universe,

their pistons pack a punch,

they make other bots
lose their lunch.

It's the kings of fling, Bronco!

[CROWD CHEERING]

CHRIS:
Kenny, it looks like Bronco
is dressed for winter.

It's got a few extra layers
on it.

KENNY:
Yeah, absolutely.

They actually used all the armor
that they own,

so obviously showing
a very healthy respect

for Team Sawblaze.

That's a lot of
titanium right there.

In the blue square,
prepare to be amazed

by a blade
that's also a blaze.

It'll cut through
you like butter

before you can utter,
"Please stop burning me, man."

It's Sawblaze!

[CROWD CHEERING]

CHRIS:
And what's Sawblaze bringing
to the party tonight?

KENNY:
For Sawblaze, they know
they do not want to go head-on

with that flipper of Bronco.

They want to try attack
from the side,

and instead of usually
using their blade to go

over the top, they actually
want to just drive that blade

right into the side of Bronco.

ROBOTIC VOICE:
Robots, activate.

CHRIS:
Only one team can improve
to 4-0.

Will it be Bronco or Sawblaze?

[♪♪♪]

ROBOTIC VOICE:
Red team, ready.

Blue team, ready.

Yeah!

CROWD [CHANTING]:
Fight, fight, fight, fight...

[ELECTRONIC BEEPING]

Yeah!

[BUZZER BUZZING]

CHRIS:
Let the bot battle begin!

Oh, Bronco almost had
a chance to get-- Oh!

Took a serious cut from the
back side of Sawblaze on that.

And a shot into the corner.

KENNY:
Sawblaze on the offensive
to start.

Oh!
CHRIS: Oh, nice flip!

He got Sawblaze on its head.

Can Sawblaze self-right?

Oh!
KENNY: Oh!

CHRIS:
Oh, are you kidding me?!

KENNY:
Look at the power
and ferocity of Bronco.

[KENNY & CHRIS EXCLAIM]

CHRIS:
Holy bucking Bronco, Batman!

That thing went a dozen feet
in the air.

And he's got more for him.

Oh, trying to get him
out of the arena!

KENNY:
Are you kidding me?!

Bronco putting on
an absolute show right now.

CHRIS:
And it looks like
Sawblaze's weapon

was damaged
in those exchanges.

Oh, taking another shot.

Is another one coming?

KENNY:
Uh-oh, it's over by us.

CHRIS:
Oh, now Sawblaze
has got a hold of Bronco.

KENNY:
Sawblaze is just built
so strong, Chris.

How is he still functional
after all those flips?

CHRIS:
It looks like Sawblaze's forks

are a little bit uneven
and can't get under Bronco.

KENNY:
Well, right now it's stuck
underneath that armor of Bronco.

They are linked together
right now.

Now Bronco able to release.

CHRIS:
And no action from that
diamond-tipped saw on Sawblaze.

That weapon is clearly damaged.

Uh-oh, Bronco's going
for a ride.

And doesn't quite get
run into the screws.

Under 90 to go.

Bronco has lived up to
the hype of this main event.

Can Sawblaze find some offense?

KENNY:
Without a primary weapon,

Sawblaze is gonna
have to get creative.

CHRIS:
Now he's got a hold of Bronco.

Oh they go for a little,
yee-haw, swing around the ring.

Shall we dance?

KENNY:
That left tire of Sawblaze
starting to come off.

CHRIS:
It looks like these two bots
are stuck together.

Like in the NFL
when players' facemasks lodge.

Easy on the drives, dude.

KENNY:
Both bots have to be careful

to not burn out their motors
here in this shoving match.

CHRIS: And now with
under a minute to go,

those k*ll saws are active.

We have a test of power,

and Bronco goes for a flip
and a miss.

Ooh, Sawblaze taking
Bronco towards the screws.

KENNY:
That dustpan design
for Sawblaze

is so effective
at scooping up opponents.

CHRIS:
Uh-oh, is Bronco having
drivetrain issues?

We've seen that before
out of this bot.

It is moving a little bit,

and now it's moving a lot
courtesy of Sawblaze.

KENNY:
I am so impressed with the
torque and power of Sawblaze.

Jamison Go just looking
to muscle Bronco now. Oh!

CHRIS:
Oh, the k*ll saw has got
a hold of Sawblaze there,

and now 10 seconds to go.

Sawblaze gets flipped up in
the air again, pops a wheelie.

Do we have time
for one more flip from Bronco?

[BUZZER SOUNDS]
And that will do it.

KENNY:
Great fight.

CHRIS:
What a show by both drivers.

But for our final fight
of the night,

we're heading to the judges.

So, Kenny,
while we're waiting,

let's show you exactly how
that glass got blasted apart

by Bronco flipping Sawblaze.

KENNY:
Yeah, Sawblaze took
a little trip on Air Bronco,

got launched all over the box.

CHRIS:
I really think that Bronco

wanted to try and flip Sawblaze

right in front of
its builder, Jamison Go.

Not only show
that it could do it

but get an up-close
and personal look at it, my man.

KENNY:
Yeah, jammed Sawblaze
right into the box.

I believe it was the fork
of Sawblaze

that drove right into
the glass, look at that.

CHRIS:
That is unreal stuff.

So you have to imagine
Bronco has a good chance

of remaining unbeaten.

Let's see if the judges agree.

[CROWD CHEERING]

Ladies and gentlemen, the

by unanimous decision,

and still undefeated is...

What a brilliant show that was.

KENNY:
It was amazing.

for Bronco,

beast of a bot, Sawblaze.

CHRIS:
We're just a few weeks away from
the championship tournament.

Ray Billings and Tombstone

have locked up that top spot
with a perfect 4-0 record.

Meanwhile, Yeti and Monsoon
put themselves

in a good position
at 3-1 on the year.

For some of these teams,
their lives ended tonight,

and the rest will be
highly anticipating

from the selection committee.

CHRIS:
