The U.K., New Zealand,
the Netherlands,

Canada, and of course, Brazil.

The rest of the field,
they're from the United States.

Tonight, in a special episode
of BattleBots,

it's the U.S.A.
versus the world.

Who's gonna take the title?

I, for one,

Hey, everybody, and welcome
to BattleBots: Fight Night,

where our robots speak

the international language
of violence.

I'm Chris Rose,
and joining me

is our own international
man of mystery,

UFC legend Kenny Florian.

Thank you, Chris.

We have an incredible lineup
of fights tonight.

We're gonna be traveling
around the world

without ever leaving
the box.

That is right.

In a very special
episode of BattleBots,

it's U.S.A. versus the world.

[CROWD CHEERING]

Since the sport
of robotic combat began,

we've seen a growing number
of international teams

represented here at BattleBots.

I'm from Birmingham,
over in sunny, sunny England.

I'm from the Netherlands,
we're from the Netherlands.

We are coming from Brazil.

I'm from New Zealand.

From Ottawa, Canada.

CHRIS: Fifty-five teams
from six different countries

come to one place.

FARUQ:
Are you ready...

CHRIS: To do one thing.

FARUQ:
It's robot-fighting time!

MAN 1: I've been to competition
in China.

I've been to competition
all over Europe.

BattleBots is like
the Holy Grail of robot combat.

KENNY:
Oh! What a hit by Reality.

CHRIS: These builders
have the added pressure

of representing their flag.

MAN 2: It's really hard
to build a robot

and come thousands
of miles to here.

I really wanna prove
that we can do it.

I wanna prove that the U.K.
can do it, and I wanna win.

CHRIS: Whoa!
KENNY: Oh!

Monsoon is a beast!

MAN 3:
In the Netherlands,

I'm basically
the Dutch Champion,

but coming into BattleBots,

it's a completely
different story.

The competition has become
very tough, very serious.

MAN 4: We're one of the first
Dutch teams,

I think we have a lot to prove.

MAN 2: Especially when everyone
back home is gonna be watching.

They'll be watching this
right now, in fact. Hi, Mum.

CHRIS: It might be
do or die in the battle box.

CHRIS:
From our field of 55,


championship quests on hold

to represent their flags
in a global showdown

of combat robotics.

It's kind of like
the Ryder Cup of Robots.

KENNY:
That's right.

The matches will be scored
on a simple point system,

one point per side
for each victory.

Best of five wins.
All right, Kenny,

let's take a look
at tonight's matchups.

Our fight card includes
some of the nastiest bots

on the planet.

In the one that very well
could decide it all,

we'll see Team U.S.A.'s
SawBlaze fire up

its ferocious diamond-tipped saw

against the earth-shattering
vertical spinner

of End Game,
representing Team World

by way of New Zealand.

We'll also see
Will Bales and HyperShock

step up for the U.S.A..

They'll be putting
their elite driving skills

to the test
against the always aggressive

drum spinner from
the Netherlands, Reality.

And Florida's own Kraken
is looking to take a bite

out of the vicious saw
from Canada, Red Devil.

KENNY: Also, a fight between
the ultra-American

Captain Shrederator

and the British youngster,
Vanquish.

It'll be truly
revolutionary,

as in Revolutionary w*r.

CHRIS: Got it.

But up first, representing
the Stars and Stripes,

it's the no-nonsense g*ng
from New Jersey,

Al Kindle and the flaming
hammer of Blacksmith.

They'll be gunning
for a point against

everyone's favorite blokes
from across the pond,

the U.K.'s Warhead, bringing
their fire-breathing T-Rex

to the global
b*ttlefield tonight.

Faruq, get in here
and take it away.

Ladies and gentlemen,
are you ready?

It's robot-fighting time!

[CROWD CHEERING]

In the red square,
representing the U.S.A.,

I don't know if this
New Jersey bot is in the Mafia,

but it's definitely out
to put a hit on you.

Bada-bing, bada-boom,
its flaming hammer

will send you to your tomb.

It's Blacksmith!

CHRIS: Blacksmith steps
into the box tonight,

representing the good old
U.S. of A.

Al Kindle's had a tough year,

but as a Jersey boy,
I'm sure he knows...

♪ Big bots don't cry ♪

In the blue square,
representing the U.K.,

peace isn't an option
for this head case,

especially when flames emerge
from its dino face.

Give it up for Warhead!

CHRIS:
And representing the world

in our first fight of the night
is Warhead.

Led by the U.K.'s
Simon Scott and Ian Lewis,

who looks to be getting
that dino fired up for battle.

The most important
thing is we wanna put on

a good show for the fans
and everyone at home.

Both bots are pretty spectacular
for show and fire.

We wanna have a lot
of fire in this match.

We're honored to share
the arena with Warhead.

They're legends in the sport.

Yeah, we wanna
represent the U.K. well.

We wanna do Warhead proud.

And we wanna do a show.
We want a full three minutes.

We want a proper robot punch-up.

We want blow after blow
after blow.

ROBOT VOICE:

CHRIS: All right, Kenny,
two fire-breathing bots.

How do they cook up
a win here tonight?

KENNY: Well, Warhead wants
to use those jaws

to clamp down and cook
Blacksmith with it's flame,

and for Blacksmith,
they need to use

their speed advantage
and let that hammer fly.

ROBOT VOICE:
Red Team, ready?

Blue Team, ready?

CHRIS: Blacksmith, Warhead,

kicking off the night
in our U.S.A. v. the world

BattleBots special.[/i]

Let the bot battle begin.

Oh, yeah, lots of fire early on.

Fire, fire, fire!

[KENNY LAUGHS]

CHRIS:
Fire!

Oh, yeah, let's see,

will Blacksmith fit
right in the grill of Warhead?

These two metal monsters
locking horns here.

KENNY:
Blacksmith doesn't want Warhead

to chomp down on him.

CHRIS:
Well, too late.

KENNY: He's trying to get ahold
of that hammer, Chris.

That's exactly what
they wanted to do.

Blacksmith doing
a little oral surgery here.

CHRIS:
Oh, Kenny, that reminds me

of when the doctor puts
a tongue depressor in my mouth,

I'm totally gagging
from that! Ugh!

[KENNY LAUGHS]

Blacksmith breaks free,
and now he's back on the attack.

And he doesn't look happy.

KENNY: Blacksmith trying
to go back to smash mode here.

Warhead putting
the pressure on him.

CHRIS & KENNY:
Whoa!

KENNY: That flaming hammer just
missing the beak of Warhead.

CHRIS: Oh, he got him!
KENNY: That one connected

a couple times.

Oh! Right on top of the head!

CHRIS:
Al Kindle, my goodness.

Very angry.

KENNY: Al Kindle saying,

"I'm representing
my country, man."

CHRIS: Do it for America.

KENNY: While Blacksmith's
been swinging that hammer,

Warhead has been
controlling the pace

with those pressurized jaws.

He's grabbing me right now.

CHRIS:
It looks like Blacksmith

is actually hung up
on Warhead's frame.

CHRIS: Oh, and he breaks free
and lands a shot on Warhead.

But Warhead bites back.

CHRIS & KENNY:
Oh!

KENNY:
Oh! Oh, man!

That hammer's just going nuts.

CHRIS: I don't know
how much damage it's doing

but Al Kindle
is letting that hammer fly.

Oh! Oh!

Unbelievable!

He's pulling off
the eyebrows of Warhead.

Hey, man, I just got those
things tweezed earlier today.

Both bots being
extremely aggressive.

KENNY: Oh!

CHRIS: And now Warhead
clamps down

on that flaming hammer.

This dino refuses
to back down.

KENNY:
Oh!

CHRIS: Blacksmith throws
a counter shot.

KENNY:
Chris, every time Blacksmith

gets that hammer firing,
Warhead answers

by overpowering him
with those jaws.

In his screws.

KENNY: Try to send that American
steel into the screws.

CHRIS: Just chewing away.

KENNY: He's got a nice hold,
he's got a great hold.

CHRIS: Forty-five seconds to go

in this classic bout
in the opener,

U.S.A. versus the world,

and Warhead gets tripped
up on the k*ll saws.

KENNY: Warhead putting a lot
of pressure on Blacksmith.

Staying right on 'em.
Nice shot by Kindle.

Oh, again, again.

CHRIS: It's like he's hitting
a hammer at the carny

and just getting a thousand
whacks with that wild thing.

He wants the big soft toy
and the Giant Nut, Kenny.

KENNY: Oh, this is good.
This is real good, I like this.

Lot of flames,
a lot of strikes.

CHRIS:
And a lot of smoke right now.

One of those bots is smoking.

It might be Al Kindle
with Blacksmith.

Under 10 to go,
but Al Kindle's bum is on fire.

Not to mention his head.

As Warhead comes back
for one last little nibble.

What a great opening fight
of U.S.A. versus the world.

That was awesome.

So this one will go
to the judges,

and there they are.

Naomi Kyle, Derek Young
and YouTube star, Simone Giertz.

Kenny, how are the judges
gonna break this down?

KENNY:
This was a very even fight.

Great action, a ton of flames.

Blacksmith was impressive,

landing shot after shot
with that hammer.

But Warhead did control
the pace of the fight

by consistently
trapping Blacksmith

in those powerful jaws.

Kindle's bot was smoking
at the closing bell.

But I give the slight edge
to Blacksmith here,

just because of the sheer
number of shots landed

with that hammer.

CHRIS: I don't envy
the judges in this one.

Let's go down to Faruq
with the decision.

We have a split decision.

Judge Naomi scored the battle
for Blacksmith.

Judge Simone scored the battle
for Warhead.

Judge Derek scored the battle
for your winner...

Team World and Warhead!

[CHEERING]

KENNY:
Wow, not how I saw it, Chris,

but I'm not sitting
in that judges' seat.

CHRIS: Well, either way,

Team World jumps out
to a 1-0 lead.

Let's go down to Jess
with our winners.

JESS: Simon, come on over.

Walk me through the match.
How did it go down for you?

Honestly I thought they had it.
We took so many blows.

Did you see Warhead's head?

He was like dong, dong!
And he kept going.

But the hits they got,
oh, they're fantastic robot.

Well, has Warhead ever taken
that many direct hits before?

Don't think so,
I think that's probably

one of the most brutal fights.

We wanted a proper
robot punch-up.

Yeah.
And that's what we got.

Well, congratulations.
Excellent fight.

Point to the world side.
Yeah, brilliant, thank you.

Good job.

[CHEERING]

CHRIS: Kenny, that was a tough
one for the judges.

I honestly don't know
which bot won this thing.

All I know is that it
was a really,

really cool way
to start the night.

So scoreboard right now,

World: 1,
Team U.S.A.: nothing.

But it's very, very early.

Coming up.

Just look at that bot,

Captain Shrederator
is about as American as it gets.

Plus, Brian Nave, the original
builder is back in the box

after handing the controls
to his son and teammates

for previous fights.

From across the pond
is Jack Tweedy of Vanquish.

And unfortunately,

what he's been
most remembered for this year,

is that vicious hit
he took from IceWave.

KENNY: Well, yeah,
anytime you get split in half,

that's gonna catch
the attention of everyone,

and not necessarily
in a good way.

Captain Shrederator has had
their fair share of issues too.

But Brian Nave likes to say,

damage is just weakness
leaving the robot.

And I'm sure both teams are
gonna prove how strong they are.

Vanquish has a lifter weapon
on the front,

and if he can stay
in one piece this time,

it could cause problems
for Shrederator,

who can't self-right.

Let's see if he can
give the world another point.

[CROWD CHEERING]

In the red square,

representing
the Stars and Stripes.

He'll climb aboard you bot,
spin you up in knots

then use you for spare parts.

When it's over he'll say,

"Look at me,
I'm the captain now."

Captain Shrederator.

CHRIS:
And there we see Brian Nave

who, of course,
couldn't miss this opportunity

to represent the U.S. of A.

He's traveled all the way across
the country just for this.

FARUQ: In the blue square,
hailing from Britain,

here to cause a black Sabbath.

You don't need Iron Man,
you need Vanquish.

CHRIS: There's Jack Tweedy,

joined by his friend from team
Monsoon, Tim Rackley tonight.

Looks like he's working
out some pre-fight jitters,

with his mate from the U.K.

It's a bit surreal
to be honest.

It's my first time in the States

and my first time
flying for that long.

I literally live on an island,

so I don't really
travel that much.

I'm just planning
on box-rushing him

so he's had issues before,
like in all of his fights.

I'm hoping those happen again,

and I'm hoping to just stop him
from getting up to speed.

Hopefully that shock
will stop him in his tracks.

What kind of damage can we
expect from you and your bot?

Well, you can expect
the kind of damage

that Shrederator's
known for handing out,

and it will be extreme.

When robots used to get torn up
into little tiny pieces,

they used to say that
it was been shrederated.

And we'll be shrederating
again tonight.

Look out, buddy, because we're
here to spin to win.

ROBOT VOICE:
Robots, activate.

KENNY:
Captain Shrederator,

taking on Vanquish from the U.K.

CHRIS:
Brian Nave looks to be ready

to hit that ground spinning.

And, Kenny, what's up with all
those googly eyes on Vanquish?

KENNY: I have absolutely
no idea, Chris.

[BUZZER]

CHRIS:
Let the bot battle begin.

Shrederator fired up
its full-body spinner,

ready to take out some eyes

on the front
of Jack Tweedy's bot.

KENNY:
Nice hit from Vanquish. Oh!

CHRIS: And Captain Shrederator
slams into the wall,

goes flying across
the battle box.

Oh!
KENNY: Big hit.

CHRIS & KENNY!
Oh!

KENNY:
Vanquish looking for contact.

CHRIS: Oh! Vanquish dishing
out the punishment

against his American
counterpart.

Always have to be careful
with a full-body spinner.

A lot of energy there.

KENNY: Captain Shrederator
doing a good job

of getting out
of the corner there.

Definitely seeing a difference
in the driving

with Brian at the helm.

CHRIS: Oh! Uh-oh.
KENNY: Oh!

Nice impact.
Vanquish is determined

to keep the pressure
on Shrederator

and prevent him
from spinning up.

Looked like it got rocked there,

hesitated to move
after that shot.

And now Vanquish going
straight at Shrederator, yeah.

I wonder if the loser
of this fight

has to pick up all the eyes
in the battle box.

CHRIS:
That's a good call.

You can probably earn
an extra point for your team

if you pick up more of the eyes.

CHRIS & KENNY:
Oh!

CHRIS:
Or pick up a tire!

KENNY: Huge shot!
CHRIS: Was that a knockout blow

by Captain Shrederator?

Brian!

CHRIS:
Vanquish is in trouble.

Let's see if Shrederator
goes in for the k*ll.

KENNY: He almost k*lled himself
to some blades

that just got hit off
of Captain Shrederator.

CHRIS:
Can Shrederator even move now?

Oh, me might've cost himself.

Oh, look, there he goes.

And listen to that crowd.
[CHANTING "U.S.A."]

Captain Shrederator's trying

to send this Brit
back to the motherland.

KENNY:
Jack Tweedy's gonna have

to head back to his
island with a loss.

REFEREE:

That's a knockout!
[BUZZER]

And Captain Shrederator

KENNY: Here's Jess,
standing by with our winner.

Brian, congratulations
on an amazing win.

What was the plan of action
going into this match?

Well, the plan of action was
to drive a bit better than that.

It took a big beating,
I mean, that floor is slippery.

I can see why my son
had trouble driving.

But, you know, it all worked
out in the end, you know.

When the captain hits,
the captain hits hard.

Very nice, very nice.

Well, you guys
had an excellent showing.

Are you glad to be back?

do it right, though.

It would've been unpatriotic

if Captain Shrederator
had not delivered a point

to the American side, right?

I think that probably provided
motivation for him for sure.

But he drove it really well.

Big difference between his son
driving and Brian driving.

In the red square,
when it enters the arena

all hell breaks loose.

Here to "demon-strate"
its powers,

it's Red Devil.

CHRIS: Representing the world
here is Red Devil,

hailing from Toronto, Canada.

So I think it's safe to say
that after this fight,

win or lose, they'll probably
be apologizing for something.

FARUQ:
In the blue square,

here to make you walk the plank

is a bot that's part snake
and part tank.

It'll give you a whacking.

Release Kraken!

CHRIS:
Matthew Spurk and Kraken

are looking to get a win
for the U.S.A. here.

Wish I could say
something funny,

but I'm getting a little sick
of Kraken jokes.

You get it, Kenny?

Kenny?

We know from
the previous matches

that if one of the tracks gets
bent, they're unable to move.

So the plan is just to get
those tracks in the teeth,

clamp down on those plates
and just fold them right over.

We're gonna drag him
to the depths

and just take care of him.

We're actually going to give
the audience a great show.

So we're gonna go
the full three minutes.

We're actually gonna saw into
their top plate quite a bit,

then we're gonna try and blow
up their pneumatic system

and get a big expl*si*n.

And we're just gonna
keep it going from there.

ROBOT VOICE:
Robots, activate.

CHRIS: All tied up at one

in our U.S.A.
versus the world special.

A victory here
would put the winning team

only one step away from
complete world domination.

[BUZZER]

Let the bot battle begin.

Kraken in the shimmering green

with that eye patch
and an overbite

makes contact with Red Devil
out of the gate.

Red Devil trying to get close
enough to utilize that saw.

KENNY:
You got a grappling match here

and Kraken's got a hold
of those treads.

That's exactly what he wanted.
CHRIS: And the pulverizer

dropped on one of Red Devil's
treads right away.

Those two fangs
got a good old grip Kenny.

KENNY: Kraken, showing it's
the more powerful bot right now.

Got a great angle on Red Devil.
CHRIS: Now you remember,

Kraken can only hold
Red Devil for 20 seconds,

then he's gotta let him loose.

KENNY: Red Devil is spinning
that left tread,

trying to get free.

CHRIS: Can't drag him around
the arena constantly.

There you go,
there's the release.

KENNY: Oh, and he's disabled
that tread, Chris.

CHRIS: Oh, yeah, Red Devil
having some mobility issues.

No question about it.

Now Kraken going
for that left tread,

gets some contact,
got some sparks there.

KENNY: Brilliant driving
by Kraken here,

grappling Red Devil at an angle

that prevents them
from dropping that saw.

CHRIS: And Red Devil,

that right side
is nearly paralyzed.

But he has a nice angle
on that tire.

No action, though, from the saw.

KENNY:
Yeah, and look at this.

Red Devil trying
to get those arms to lift.

CHRIS:
Oh! Uh-oh!

KENNY:
Great lift.

CHRIS: Nice.
KENNY: Oh, nice self-right.

CHRIS:
Excellent use of the battle box.

KENNY: Kraken throwing out
all the tricks for this one,

and he's right back
on Red Devil's tail.

CHRIS: Trying to hold on
to more of the treads.

Can't quite grasp it.
KENNY: Uh-oh.

Kraken has another hold
on those treads.

That's the one that's already
disabled, I believe, though.

CHRIS:
Kraken pushing, pushing.

Oh, he's taken Red Devil
into the screws.

Can he get him up?
Can he get it up on the screws?

That's gonna be the key.
He's trying.

KENNY:
Nice driving here by Matt Spurk.

CHRIS:
So over halfway into this fight,

and Kraken having his way
with this devil.

KENNY: Let's see if Red Devil
can collect its thoughts

and maybe go in
for one final attack.

KENNY: Kraken looking
to get yet another hold.

CHRIS: Red Devil backs up.

But really
hasn't gotten much use

out of that primary weapon
with the saw.

KENNY: This fight has been
all Kraken, Chris.

There he goes trying to get
ahold of the other tread.

CHRIS:
He's got his backside, Kenny.

KENNY: Uh-oh.
CHRIS: Under a minute to go.

Now you gotta watch out
for the k*ll saws

popping up from the floor.

Like that.

Red Devil gets a manicure.
That's nasty.

KENNY:
How does that feel, Red Devil?

CHRIS: You can ask him.
He's right in front of us.

KENNY:
Incredible driving by Kraken.

Hammer, hammer!

CHRIS:
Uh-oh, gets taken in the corner.

Right on top of Red Devil.

Oh, man,
another shot to the head.

This is just brutality now.

KENNY: This is by far
the best performance of Kraken

that we've seen.

CHRIS: Under 30 seconds to go

for Red Devil
to make one last stand,

or a stand at all.

KENNY: With that tread down,
Chris, it's looking unlikely

as Kraken takes another hold.

Let's see if he can get
those fangs down on the treads.

He is, putting some serious
pressure there.

CHRIS:
This one's gonna go the distance

as we are under


Kraken happy to just hold
Red Devil in its place.

A wonderful performance
by the green monster

from the great state of Florida.

KENNY:
Kraken doing Team U.S.A. proud.

CHRIS:
This one goes to the judges,

but you have to think
Team U.S.A.

is feeling pretty,
pretty good.

Kenny it's all about grasp,

hold and take them
wherever you want.

KENNY: That's right,
and it wasn't a great outing

for Red Devil.

Kraken started off
this fight beautifully.

Got a hold of Red Devil.

Bullied him
around the battle box,

slammed him into
the wall a few times,

was able to disable
those treads.

Really impressed
with this Kraken team.

CHRIS: Once Red Devil
lost track, literally,

he couldn't maneuver and get
that saw blade where he wanted.

KENNY: Yeah, it looked to me
like Red Devil

lost power to that saw
pretty early on.

Here you see one of the only
bright spots for Red Devil,

flipping Kraken
with those grappling arms.

But Kraken quickly
righted itself

and continued its onslaught.

CHRIS: And then taking them over
to the pulverizer

where the hammer... Oh!

KENNY: A little remodeling
for Red Devil.

Let's go to Faruq
with the decision.

The winner,

by a unanimous decision is...

Kraken!

[CHEERING]

CHRIS: So Kraken gets the win

and puts the U.S.A. ahead
by one.

KENNY: Very impressive
stuff there, Chris.

CHRIS: Impressive indeed.

But here's what
I'm wondering, Kenny.

Do you think they wear
the pirate getup

around the house too,
or is that just for this?

Well, that's the other thing
I was gonna say,

he only did it with one eye.

If he took the patch off,
imagine how much better he'd be.

CHRIS:
All right, coming up,

we've got Hypershock
representing the U.S.A.,

taking on Team World's Reality.

KENNY:
And representing America,

Will Bales,
he's 100 percent American.

CHRIS: And tonight,
he goes to w*r for his country

against the devastating
Dutch bot, Reality,

led by Tim Bouwens.

Two very similar robots

run by two
very different personalities.

Gonna be fun.

representing America,

this beautiful veracious bot
causes amber waves of pain.

Don't be a skeptic,
this next bot's electric.

It's Hypershock!

[CHEERING]

CHRIS:
And there we see Hypershock,

getting into
the international spirit

with a little conga line.

KENNY: Timing's a little off,
but it's okay.

CHRIS:
They will not be winning

Dancing with the Stars
this year.

In the blue square
representing the Netherlands,

this bot is so scary

the dark is afraid of it.

Boo! Aah!

It's Reality!

CHRIS: Now we get
a good look at Reality.

And here's a fun fact
about the Netherlands:


are born at home.

I'm told Tim Bouwens
was born in a hospital.

What is it gonna be
like going head-to-head,

U.S.A. versus the Netherlands?

It will be very interesting
to watch and participate.

Every design has its advantages,
disadvantages.

We'll see what happens.
It will be good.

First and foremost,
come out spinning,

spinning fast, driving a lot.

And don't hold any punches.

and show the Netherlands
who's boss.

CHRIS:

KENNY: Hypershock trying to get
that weapon up to full use.

If this were the Indy 500
he'd be leading the race so far.

CHRIS: Will Bales,
known for his driving skills.

He likes to dictate
the pace from the opening bell.

Oh!

Uh-oh!

sequence from Hypershock.

Will Bales clearly intends

to be the aggressor
in this fight.

CHRIS:

Whoa!
KENNY: Uh-oh.

CHRIS:
Oh, no, Hypershock's smoking.

KENNY:
We've seen this before.

Will does have a tendency
to burn out motors.

CHRIS: Hypershock continuing
to throw itself

headfirst into Reality.

Reality just weathering
the storm.

Hypershock not afraid
to go weapon on weapon.

KENNY: So far,
this is the most effective

we've seen Hypershock.
CHRIS: Whoa!

Whoa!

Hypershock popped Reality
into the air.

Uh-oh, the drum spinner for
Reality might not be working.

KENNY: Yeah,
that is not active right now.

CHRIS: And that means
Hypershock now

clearly in the lead.

KENNY:
Uh-oh, Reality trying to drive

Hypershock into the side
of the box there.

Tim Bouwens improvising,
trying something different.

CHRIS: Let's see if Hypershock
takes his foot off the gas.

KENNY: Oh!

CHRIS:
Nope, looks like Will Bales

has no interest in playing
this conservatively,

even with a big lead.

KENNY:
It looks like Hypershock

does have a bit
of a busted tire.

They've gotta be careful.

CHRIS: Here comes Reality,
looking for some action.

KENNY: Nice defensive
driving there by Hypershock,

but they are not
moving right now.

CHRIS: Uh-oh, Hypershock.

Is it feeling the effects
of all those big shots?

Can they get that bot moving?

KENNY:
Reality's hanging back.

They think
they've got this thing won.

Keep trying,
keep trying.

CHRIS: Will, put new batteries
in the remote control.

See if that works.

KENNY: This is not good, Chris.
Not good at all.

CHRIS:
Hypershock has nothing.

He's getting counted down.

And the disappointing 2018
season continues for Hypershock.

They had that fight in
the bag and completely blew it.

Knockout!
[BUZZER]

CHRIS:
Tim Bouwens and Reality

getting a point for the world.

And the crowd here
is completely stunned.

Kenny, Hypershock
was in the driver's seat

for the majority of this fight.

KENNY: Yeah, that's right,

and good thing
for Reality it wasn't a race,

because they were
pretty slow out there.

Hypershock literally
running circles around them,

able to get some nice hits,
able to get underneath Reality

despite Reality being
very low to the ground.

And they had some epic hits
there, weapon to weapon.

Hypershock had this fight
in the bag.

CHRIS: Reality lost power
to their drum spinner

and looked to be
behind the eight ball.

But before Hypershock
could capitalize,

the bot died suddenly,
was counted out,

and Reality evens things up
at two

in this best-of-five series.

So we'll see Team U.S.A.'s
Sawblaze

take on New Zealand's
own End Game,

in a battle for all the marbles.

Oh! Blacksmith pulling off
the eyebrows of Warhead.

MAN: We were very impressed
with that fight.

They drove and controlled
that machine superbly.

I mean, that was proper
robot combat.

It stood up pretty well.
It stood up really well,

considering it was a big,
heavy weapon we went up against.

Yeah, we've got welded
repairs that stood up.

So Lincoln boys
have done really well there.

We have a few repairs to do
from that fight.

We've got one of the shoulders
on Warhead's arms is cracked.

But it's been welded before,
so it stood up.

It didn't break in the fight.

So we were very impressed
with Lincoln welding.

It's still running,
still in one piece.

That was a lot
of rough-and-tumble.

Let's buff the nose
just there,

and I think
that's about it.

Yeah, a bit of Scotch-Brite
down there.

Cup of tea time, I recon.

[LAUGHS]

CHRIS:
In the pits,

these builders create
a United Nations of robots.

MAN:
It's actually really amazing

to have all these
international people

building robots and fighting it.

Such a tight-knit community,
and it's really just

a bunch of insane people
doing insane things together.

that appreciate actually

Lock-Jaw's a past champion,

so we're pretty happy
we can sit here.

And we've got a bit of banter
going between the pits,

so that's good.

What is your most important tool
you have here?

Our most important tool--
I think it's probably this.

It's definitely this,

so I'm gonna hold on
to this one.

I've just enjoyed
hanging out here with you guys,

Kraken and Shrederator
scored points for U.S.A.

while Warhead and Reality

got a couple

So it all comes down to this.

Now Jamison Go has been
an absolute terror

in this year's
competition with Sawblaze.

His aggressive
driving style coupled

with diamond-tipped saw
is a deadly combination.

Tonight, he's coming out
firing on all cylinders

and wants a win for the U.S.A.

On the other side,
we've got End Game.

Kenny, there's been
a lot of hype

around Jack Barker this season.

KENNY:
Yeah, this is Jack's first

heavyweight competition
in the States.

He came in virtually unknown,
got off to a hot start

but recently came
back down to earth.

And tonight,
he's looking to prove

that he and that vertical disc
are the real deal.

Two very different bots, Chris.

Should be a great fight.

Jamison Go and Sawblaze

have had a standout year
so far,

absolutely bullying people
around the box

with that dustpan.

KENNY: There's just so much
traction and power

in that beast
of a drive motor, Chris.

It's an impressive machine.

In the blue square,
all the way from New Zealand,

you've made it
through all the levels

and collected all the treasure.

Now it's time
to face the final boss.

You're at the End Game.

[CROWD CHEERING]

CHRIS:
And there we see End Game,

who looks to have added some
modifications for this fight.

KENNY: Yeah, Chris,
they're very concerned

about getting scooped up
by Sawblaze.

They've added those plastic
extensions on the front wedge

to try to win
the battle for low ground.

Well, how important
and exciting is it

for you to be able
to represent the U.S.?

It's extremely important
for us to win.

I was born in the U.S.,
U.S. citizen.

I feel very strongly.
I have a lot of American pride.

Do you feel confident
in your repairs

going up against Sawblaze?

Yeah, we've made a few repairs,

and we've also added a couple
new features to it as well,

just to stop them
sawing through the top.

So we're hoping that
everything works as planned.

Sawblaze was one
of the top robots here,

so if we can take that out,
that'll prove New Zealand's

right up there
with the rest of them.

ROBOT VOICE:

CHRIS: All right, Kenny,
it all comes down to this.

Team U.S.A.
being represented by a dustpan

with a saw on its head.

Let the bot battle begin.

Both teams looking
for contact early.

Boy, End Game
just getting swallowed up

by the width of Sawblaze,
unbelievable.

KENNY: Yeah, but End Game,
able to get underneath so far.

And, Chris, check out
that middle fork on Sawblaze.

End Game just made
an absolute meal of that thing

in that first exchange.

That's gonna make things
very difficult

for Sawblaze going forward.

CHRIS:
Yeah, but look at this.

Sawblaze overpowering End Game,
pushing him into the screws.

KENNY:
How about that. Oh!

CHRIS:
Nice driving by End Game there,

pivoting and throwing
that disc into Sawblaze.

KENNY: End Game doing some
serious damage here Chris.

CHRIS: Jamison Go's gonna
have to rethink his strategy,

with that middle fork
bent backwards.

KENNY:
Oh! Nice hit!

CHRIS: End Game
with that vertical discs spinner

doing some damage,
throwing back Sawblaze.

CHRIS & KENNY:
Oh! Oh!

CHRIS:
Huge hit! Very nice!

And now Sawblaze
trying to right itself.

End Game's flipping over
its opponent,

and Sawblaze trying to get
back to normal, as it does.

KENNY: Incredible offensive
driving from End Game there,

not giving Sawblaze an inch.

Another nice hit by End Game,

and I think those plastic wedges
are coming in handy there.

CHRIS: Boy, Sawblaze just can't
get the traction

it wants right now.

I don't know
if it has to do

with the middle fork
being bent or what.

KENNY: Well, one of their tires
are done

in the back of the rear there,
but I just think End Game

is just so low
to the ground, Chris.

They're like a block.

They're not as big
or wide as Sawblaze,

but very well built,
very durable.

CHRIS: Sawblaze has dominated
fights this year

by keeping the pressure
on his opponent.

Can he impose his will here?

Here we go.

Oh, he's breathing fire.

KENNY: Oh, and he's got
the flame going as well.

CHRIS:
He's got the green fire,

which is like green snot
coming out of your nose.

Just take an antibiotic.

That should clear it up
in no time.

KENNY: He's gonna try to
burn out the motors of End Game.

Jamison Go and Sawblaze
making a little comeback here.

CHRIS:
He's got End Game cornered.

He just can't get the robot
to do what he wants.

KENNY: Oh, nice driving there
by Team End Game.

Oh, almost able to get out.

CHRIS: Now Sawblaze pushing
End Game into that wall.

KENNY: Uh-oh.
CHRIS: Oh!

Here comes the flame.

KENNY: It's exactly
what Jamison Go wanted to do.

He's trying to burn up their
motors and take out their belt.

CHRIS: He's breathing fire
on End Game.

That is just nasty.

That's not your basic
Bunsen burner at work.

Now Sawblaze has got
End Game cornered again.

KENNY:
Sawblaze dominating right now.

That blade not able
to make contact.

But Jamison still finding
a way to control this fight.

CHRIS:
As we're under 30 to go.

Oh, yeah.

The pulverizer, however,
taking a shot at Sawblaze.

KENNY: How about that vertical
disc spinner of End Game.

Still going strong.

CHRIS: That's a nice wheel
popping courtesy of End Game,

closing in
on the final 10 seconds.

Who will bring home the deciding
win for their country?

One more hit, Jack! Go!

CHRIS: Could either team
deliver one final blow

to impress the judges?

KENNY: Oh, Chris,
End Game is not moving.

[BUZZER]

CHRIS:
But there goes the bell.

Very exciting fight
to finish this thing,

between Sawblaze and End Game.

And Sawblaze,
spinning for the judges,

making its case for Team U.S.A.

Kenny, early on End Game
really delivered a huge shot

that bent the middle fork
of Sawblaze.

KENNY:
This was a great fight, Chris.

End Game by far the smaller bot,
but it didn't matter.

They were able to get
underneath Sawblaze very well.

They were able to really
bust up that middle fork

of Sawblaze,
got some great hits in there.

See him chewing up
bits and parts of Sawblaze.

Chewed up the sides
of their tires as well.

There's another nice hit from
End Game, attacking the sides.

CHRIS: But as he's done
all season, Kenny,

Jamison Go put a ton
of pressure on End Game

using that powerful drive motor,

to push Jack Barker's bot
around the box

and turn the tide.

KENNY:
Yeah, this is where he started

mounting his comeback.

Jamison knew he couldn't
be effective with that saw,

so he began attacking
End Game from the backside,

using his flamethrower,
and was successful in winning

both aggression
and control points.

I'm not sure Sawblaze
will be able to overcome

the amount of damage
done to its bot here.

I'd have to give
the slight edge to End Game.

But you never know

when it's left
in the hands of the judges.

CHRIS: Let's go down to Faruq,
with the decision.

We have a split decision.

Judge Naomi scored the battle
for Sawblaze.

Judge Derek scored the battle
for End Game.

Judge Simone scored the battle

for the winner...

the U.S.A. and Sawblaze!
