around the world how interesting i'd

love to see them me too i'm always

fascinated by how people in different

parts of the world dress oh that is

interesting you know collecting things

is an interesting thing Sher i think you

can tell a lot about a person by what

they collect what do you collect Mr

forbes i collect frogs all kinds of

frogs i have frog ties i have frog

postcards and greeting cards i have frog

hats i have frog sculptures you name it

magic it's so neat that everyone on the

show has a collection i have so many

stuffed toys that my mom had to build a

shelf all the way around my room to hold

them all it sounds like you have a lot

almost 100 people always give me stuffed

toys as gifts and I love every single

one of them i have quite a few myself

i've had them since I was a baby and I

really love them too but I'm going to

give them away why would you do that my

older brothers keep teasing me and

saying that I'm too big to have stuffed

toys they're probably right so I'm going

to give them away oh Ryan you shouldn't

not if you still love them i'm never

giving mine away never ever we're back

really loves his stuffed toys but he's

something sure do you feel that as you

grow up you have to give up things that

you loved when you were little you're

of things from when I was a baby they

make me feel good i bet most your

Meet Sharon Karita

it's time to meet Sharon Karita and her

amazing doll collection on Question Time

with Lindsay Bartles thank you Alex and

Aaron and thank you Sharon for joining

us today you're welcome oo that doll

looks just like the kids on our video

yes she does she's actually dressed like

a small child from Scotland she's

wearing a child's kilt the scarf her

purse down here is called a sporen she's

wearing actual dance ghillies this is a

tam and this type of a plaid is called a

black watch plaid which is a military

plaid then the other dolls that I

brought today are mostly children the

little boy on the end is from Greece

he's wearing a ceremonial outfit if you

went to Greece today you wouldn't see

anybody wearing this except on really

special occasions he's also holding his

worry beads which are actual beads from

Greece um the next set up here are

American Indians and they of course are

wearing leather they've got their beads

um the bear that he's riding on is

actually a porcelain headed bear that

was made to go with him um if we come

around this side the little black

children up here are actually the same

doll the one is obviously from Africa

with a small child on her hip english

children would not look much different

than American children so I didn't bring

an English child instead I brought a

Queen Elizabeth she's dressed in actual

court attire um the other small doll up

there is from Peru and she's brought her

llama with her they are actual hering

animals and children do take care of

them the tassels in the ears are a form

of

identification so that they know what

family they actually belong to she's

dressed in a native outfit that is

actually handwoven wow the doll that's

in front of her is more of a lady and

she's from China um one of the

differences between a Chinese lady and a

Japanese lady is the fact that Chinese

lady wears pants and more of a tunic and

a little bit more formal headgear the

lady on the end is our lady from Japan

she's obviously dressed more for

ceremonial attire but I've left her hair

down um if you were to see an actual

geisha or um you know someone in native

dress she would have her hair put up on

top of her head but being the doll maker

I get to take that liberty and do what I
